3 months of 15k+ steps and calisthenics
Took a complete overhaul of my lifestyle but I’ve made it to my lowest weight since being a teen. Still have work to do, just showing it’s possible. Its not just the steps though, it was the complete change. Quit drinking, smoking, porn, ultra processed foods, pretty much anything i deemed a bad habit. Being lazy was a big one… And no I’m not on a glp-1, just creatine. Found out my testosterone was low, and might be put on that tomorrow. Unsure yet. But this was all me, no hate against the glp-1 just wasn’t for me and my stomach problems, which are gone now. Went from 6 daily medicines, to just my inhaler. That alone was huge progress for me. Starting weight was 280, 44 waist, and 2xl shirts. Außerdem fördert einseitiges Training Dysbalancen und begünstigt Rückenschmerzen, Verschleiß und Verletzungen. Calisthenics wäre auch nicht schlecht als Ergänzung, weil du Muskelketten trainierst und Körperbeherrschung, also auch das Nervensystem.

I'm now sold on calisthenics .. here is why
This guy in our building is in the military and he has gotten very jacked lately to where I asked him what his routine was. I assumed he was hitting the barbells. But to my surprise, his routine is something like this: - He sets a timer for 20 minutes and he does 20 pushups followed by 10 chinups and then he rests for one minute before doing it again. - Once he's done, he does some side lateral raises with a pair of dumbells supersetted with dumbell curls and tricep work. His whole workout lasts maybe 30 minutes. I asked him how often he does this. His response: 6-days a week. Occasionally, he'll swim in addition to all that. My thoughts on folk who do calisthenics
Calisthenics people at least don't destroy their joints as much as they can only perform natural movements, although many get destroyed elbows from chin ups. Its still more natural though and they are more in it for the thing itself instead of muscles etc. therefore don't get as much body dysmorphia perhaps. Many do it as a habit or go to the park often which makes them perform these degenerate acts. I think calisthenics goers and anti gymers share a common lineage, in a sense calisthenics folk are a master race in of themselves, even if their joints are at breaking point and they have borderline body dysmorphia, I wouldn't wish calisthenics on my worst enemy but they aren't as bad as gym goers. We are against people destroying their joints period, period. Although calisthenics folk may have legit grievances to be heard and we should go easy on them, perhaps negotiating with them to stop their ways in their own time given they are somewhat less brainwashed than gym goers. submitted by /u/trhtrhtrhrtht to r/antigym [link] [comments]
