Wrapped up cleaning the bolts holes on the passenger side and the mating surface. Also pulled the lifter trays and lifters out of the car. I’m at a point where I can move the steering rack out of the way to access/remove the stock dampener, remove the timing cover, timing chain, and finally the cam!

swear no matter how careful i am dust physically glues itself to the air vents. always end up with crumbs jammed in the seat rails too. i see guys dropping big money on massive shop vacs just to fight these tiny gaps but idk, suction doesnt really help when the dirt is literally stuck. my wife ended up getting me this hoto blowvac vacuum off some 'cool tools for gifts' listicle she was scrolling. kinda made fun of it at first tbh. but using the blower end to just blast the grit out of the vents and onto the floorboards makes it so much easier to just deal with the loose pile on the floor mats after. still a pain in the ass though. how often are u guys actually doing a proper interior clean? do you just use the free gas station hoses when you fill up or what submitted by /u/SaiVaibhav06 to r/AskMenAdvice [link] [comments]

Hi all, I pick up my car on Sunday and want to give it a little bit of tlc. It’s a secondhand car and just wanted feedback on this as a cleaning method: I am wary of causing damage with a clay bar and I am unsure how much a ceramic coat is worth it? Car cleaning: Rinse with jet wash. Snow foam, let sit and rinse off (do not let it dry). Wash with car shampoo and microfibre cloths using two bucket and grit guard. Wash wheels with brush and wheel cleaner. Dry car with microfibre cloths. Polish with polishing pads and autoglym super resin polish. Some sort of tyre shine from Halfords. My questions: Do I need to do a ceramic coat? How badly can I screw up polishing - could I make the paint look worse? I live opposite a pub and they have a popular live music evening on Mondays. It’s always hard to park around here when that happens. I came out to walk over and listen to the music yesterday and … someone has clearly found it so hard to park that they had parked ON MY LAWN. Yup. Driven up over the curb and nestled their piece of crap car between my flower pots and parked on the manicured grass. I went into the pub to ask whoever it was to move and I saw one of the musicians look shifty but he didn’t own up. Or move. Fine. I went into the house and got a pen, some postits, some extra sticky duck tape and a bright red cheap extra-stay lipstick. I wrote DO NOT PARK HERE in bright red lipstick on every single window including the little side ones at the back. Then I wrote NO PARKING on four or five of the postits and stuck them to the front and back windscreens with a ludicrous amount of duck tape, about two feet per postit. I knew full well that whoever had parked there was probably watching me through the pub window. I hope they also enjoyed their drive of shame home, scraping the duck tape glue off the glass, and working out the rock hard set lipstick. Then I went to bed. In the morning the car was gone and this afternoon I dug a new wooden post into the gap they had driven in so it can’t happen again. EDIT: I am in Oxfordshire, England.
