Because I Secretly Hate Myself I Listened to the PL Podcast Episode So You Don't Have To
(blows dust off typewriter) Can’t keep a good rat in hibernation forever. So there’s no amount of money you could pay me to go back to the dumb drama that came from recapping Paige’s vlogs, it wasn’t worth anyone’s time or energy when nothing happens in them and she does the exact same out of touch things that make you long for class warfare over and over again. I thought this would be a fun little way to flex those muscles because how long could one podcast episode take? Flash to hours later because this is like four vlogs in one but refusing to give up due to the sunk cost fallacy and I regret everything. Please know I watched the video version of this and it’s hard to focus because when will the inventor of veneers be brought to the Hague to be held accountable for their crimes. Also hard to focus when Paige’s hair is the same color as the ugly olive set curtains that I think are the same ones from my elementary school auditorium. “Paige, you don’t do many podcasts so I’m honored you’re sitting here with me”. Does Halle realize who she’s talking to? Ms. Two Balls one Mouth? Of Paige by Paige by Paige Lorenze, a Paige Lorenze Production fame? THEE Paige Lorenze? Can’t imagine why Halle would think she “doesn’t do many podcasts” and is unfamiliar with her game. Something that comes up right off the bat, like when they’re just trying to explain how they met, is how Girls Hate Paige And Are So Jealous Of Her. I watched this part multiple times and can’t even explain how it’s related to what they’re talking about, but Paige keeps circling back to this point. And as an adult who’s had social interactions with human beings before, nothing immediately tells me someone is the worst person you’ve ever met than when they’re a woman who has to tell you she’s a “girl’s girl” or talks about how girls are “jealous” and “mean” to each other (but not like her!!!). It’s like the girl equivalent of when a man has to tell you how great his sense of humor is. Like what women are you even hanging out with? Why? The last time I had to put any thought into Girl Politics or Girl Ethics and didn’t just try to be a decent human being regardless of gender, I was in middle school. If you genuinely as a full grown adult have ops or haters or whatever… skill issue. While Paige tries to sell this as a plus and a sign she’s sooooo highly evolved and non-confrontational, what she describes is deeply concerning pathological passive-aggression. She says she handles conflict the way her mom taught her, which is both by fawning (calling someone up and trying to figure out what she can do to “fix” it) and then pretending to get along with people she hates. Which, so cool, also so weird how people consistently respond to Paige by being hostile and catty. If only science could explain such a coinkydink, because I can’t possibly think of a reason why that might be a consistent theme in her life. Paige talks about opening a DB store in Nantucket next summer and how “the island doesn’t have something in our price point and quality” which is technically correct, I just googled and there is no Walmart or Temu on Nantucket, let alone a Walmart or Temu that prices itself like Ralph Lauren. She’s got us there. “I also feel like Nantucket is such a world.” - Paige Lorenze Please know at the time I’m watching this on Youtube there are dozens of comments and most of them are cooing over how articulate Paige is so always remember: the bar is in hell, you can’t possibly be the dumbest or worst person doing anything, live your dreams. “But also, like, females? And our emotional IQ? I think the way that we can just relate to people and sell to people is so… interesting.” - Paige Is the emotional IQ in the room with us. Paige goes on to list all the jobs she did before she was an influencer and as someone who worked a bunch before college to save up their money and avoid loans while deciding what I wanted to go to college for, Paige in the two or so years before she started influencing had more jobs than most people do in ten. Which means she did not work, she showed up somewhere for two weeks and then decided she was too good for something and either quit or got fired. Like girl we can do math and your dad’s money can’t buy you a different space-time continuum. And this comes in the context of them trying to sound so humble because they “worked retail” and then they start complaining about how being a hostess is “bitch work” and they got “no tips”. “Like one thing about me is I like to make money. I love to make money.” - Paige No way. NO WAY. Your marked up SheIn store especially combined with our dating history would never have clued me in!! Paige also full on admits she’s willing to deal with sexual harassment so long as she’s getting paid to do it. An absolutely bonkers take to admit to on main. “The cool thing about Nantucket? Everyone works. Even the trust fund babies. I was not a trust fund baby,” says Paige, because if there’s one thing about Paige, she will establish she’s not like the other girls or die trying. Like she and Halle never hung out as teenagers since “the Boston families sort of stick together” and she was “from Connecticut and Vermont”. Which, first of all, you’re not from Vermont, you went to boarding school in Vermont. Second of all, as a New Englander I can’t even begin to describe how white rich people this conversation is. For people who aren’t from New England or Massachusetts, if you summer by the beach there are three or four main places your family might have a home or part ownership of a cabin to indicate that y’all have money. If it’s up in Maine or on the North Shore, kinda middle class, white picket fence and a Golden Retriever. On the Cape is a little above that, though it depends on what part of the Cape, each town very much has an identity that sorts you into what subgenre of somewhere between middle class and upper middle class you are - some towns are more preppy, some more hippie crunchy, etc. Martha’s Vineyard, you’re upper middle class or upper class rich but not trust fund rich, like you’ve got family money because you come from a long line of accountants, or you came from nothing but now are a professor at Harvard married to another professor at Harvard. Nantucket is the Kennedys. You’re not getting a shack or a hotel room on that island unless you can send all your kids to private school and have legacy admission to an Ivy league school and you’ve got opinions on the estate tax being too high. But you see, the boarding school Paige went to isn’t in Boston, it’s in Vermont, and so that makes her salt of the earth. This continues through all the same talking points, blah blah she went to ski academy and was so responsible and aware of the sacrifices her parents made for her to do that, blah blah she was so focused, blah blah the things she love were so different because they were fishing and surfing and horseback riding. As a reminder of what an actually weird and different girl growing up in New England would look like, when I was growing up one of my niche interests was nature survivalism Girl Scout stuff, like I loved to imagine I was on the Oregon Trail and get out books from the library teaching me how to make acorn flour. Paige is once again up Hailey Bieber’s ass, saying that she like Halle has “the special sauce” and “aura” and that’s why she “gets a lot of hate”. Because she’s “so tea”. This is very, very transparently because a) Paige sees herself as Hailey Bieber and wants to be her and look like her and wear her as a skin suit and b) wants to be able to drop that she met her. Paige is also is so, so mean to Halle. This entire time she’s talking over her, subtly negging her, being very “oh sweetie I love that for you”. Like if you’ve ever had an experience with another woman where she presented super nice and supportive but made you feel like she was taking digs at you the entire time for reasons you couldn’t name because she presented as nice and you sounded insane when you tried to explain this to a man, this is like a highlight reel you can show any man who’s confused by the way women are socialized to be mean to each other in the passive-aggressive way Paige fully admits to being mean to people all the time. Anything Halle says, Paige has to first give her a very vague compliment but uses it in a way to establish herself as different and more virtuous by contrast. Which is incredibly effective with Halle, a party girl who. like most party girls, has a very, very fragile ego and a deep wound around her sense of self-worth. She acts crazy and is constantly making herself the butt of the joke because it gets her attention and because attention - good or bad - is the only thing that numbs the chasm of insecurity inside her, and Paige is incredibly good at playing off this. It’s wild. For example, this exchange when they talk about people saying stuff about them online: Paige: I feel like both of us, like everything has been said about us under the sun, like truly? Halle, sounding very sad, almost like she’s going to cry: Yeah but I feel like I’ve said it first. Paige, steamrolling over her: Yeah but you’re definitely… you… you are… I mean yeah, I love that for you, I think you’re so ahead of it. And I feel like you clock yourself before anyone can clock you, which is something I don’t really do. I feel like I don’t get online… i’m not super vulnerable online? I’m like.. Halle: You, like, you come from a different era of like influencer though- Paige: Yes! Halle: - I feel like you protect your peace a lot more. And I think that’s something I’m maybe going to learn eventually? That I should do? Like you can destroy my peace. Paige, talking over her: But! But in criticizing myself I think I’ll say, if you are not - if you are not putting out a narrative about yourself, about like certain things, certain topics, like someone will make it for you. I could break this down like a literature analysis. It’s the RICHEST text. Again funny to me that every Youtube commenters keep praising how articulate Paige is when she’s talking about how she thinks hate comes from “curiousness”, like she thinks there’s “love curiousness” and “hate curiousness”. THE WORD IS CURIOSITY. C U R I O S I T Y. This leads also into Paige’s whole spiel about how hate doesn’t bother her because she knows she’s SUCH a good person, and again the manipulating of Halle where the only compliments she gives her are ones she first gives herself and then goes “I think you do this too.” “I think when people call you out for something you’ve actually done it hurts a lot more.” - Paige I’d forgotten that the most uncomfortable part of having to hear Paige talk for me is remembering that I could without putting in an ounce of effort psychologically destroy her in under an hour. Anyway at this point Paige does a lot of lovebombing of Halle to make up for the uninterrupted fifteen or twenty minutes of negging she just did. Fun lore drop, Paige’s mom is from Weston and went to Noble and Greenough school which when Paige mentioned this I SCREECHED. If you’re not from the Boston area I’m really struggling to put into words how over the top old money snobby preppy this is. This is like… Gossip Girl but real life in Massachusetts. This is making the Gilmore Girls family look like paupers. And Paige tried to sell earlier that she wasn’t a trust fund kid. The fuck you aren’t. Her mom is a Whitney from Boston which she says is a big Boston family which sounds vaguely familiar enough that I’m sure if I cared to go walking around Mount Auburn Cemetery I’d find some of her family in it. Which is also where Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is buried, like we’re talking Mayflower and Daughters of the Revolution old money here. “That’s why the jawline… that’s why we’re snatched.” Halle I’ve seen both of your before surgery pictures and technically that is correct, you both had much softer jawlines until your family money gave you a new one so both genetically and financially yes, there’s a reason you have the same jaw. “I don’t have jawline injections! Clock it!” - Paige, lying “Sorry, she doesn’t claim it, but I do.” - Halle, I can’t believe this podcast is making me by contrast kind of love Halle HAHAHAHHA PAIGE SAYS SHE GOT A LITTLE FILLER ONCE BUT IT MADE HER LOOK LIKE HANDSOME SQUIDWARD SO SHE DISSOLVED IT she does read our snark!!! “Oh my god that was my whole thing on Reddit, that I was handsome Squidward.” - Halle, again kind of endearing me to her Paige blah blahs some more about how she had to move to the suburbs because all she was doing was “shopping or getting my hair done or creating content that didn’t really inspire me”. As opposed to now where her last few vlogs are that AND she cooks. “I’m really good at realizing when I’m going down a bad thing or down a bad path” - girl you’re literally not that’s how you became an influencer in the first place. This interview is also a great example of how therapy isn’t always the answer, particularly not for people who have no self-awareness who will often go to therapy to learn how to become better at weaponizing the language of it and be more manipulative. Paige says things like “even when I had no confidence I had confidence” and like you can tell she went to therapy or listened to some wellness podcast, cherrypicked the parts that made her sound coolest and most special, and then ignored any of the parts that would require actual work on yourself or recognition that you’re not the center of the universe or taking accountability for your actions. This is like the same as when people do spiritual woo woo stuff and instead of actually getting diagnosed with being neurodivergent they call themselves a starseed and say in their past life they were from Atlantis or something. But don’t worry, she’s still working on “myself and things”. She’s very humble. She also tries to pretend she’s so willing to take criticism because she “gets clocked” for old pictures before she “got her filler dissolved” but now she’s grown and changed and is such an evolved person. You just said less than ten minutes ago you’re NOT willing to take criticism if it’s too true! Make up your mind!!!!! Paige brags some more about what a great businesswoman she is and how haters will call it a “merch brand” but she’s running a massive business. And I don’t know if I forgot how bad she is about this or is getting worse over time, but it’s really, REALLY obvious when Paige talks about DB that she “built” it in the same way celebrities all “build” their brands - she uses a lot of business girlie word salad to say that she has what I’m sure there’s an actual name for but I call an IKEA company. She did the equivalent of going to IKEA, buying a bookshelf, paying a TaskRabbit to put it together, and is now going around calling herself a carpenter. “I saw even before large corporations saw the value in Instagram” - I literally majored in Digital Communications and you did not but go off. “Something I do want to like, you know, lend to and give light to in this conversation is that I didn’t have a full idea of what, like, Dairy Boy was going to be necessarily. We had no idea, Paige, it was incredibly subtle. Paige says if you’re listening to this and want to start a brand, start a brand, like she did when she listened to her gut at a very young age. So what is it, she didn’t have a vision or she intuitively in her gut had a vision? Also, congrats on having Dad’s money to start a brand, but you see, most people… don’t. Halle trying to glaze Paige by saying Paige listens to critiques and Paige is like “oh of course”, because I guess blocking people who comment on your shitty quality or customer service after sending them a passive aggressive DM counts as customer service now. Things Paige feels she invented along with marketing on Instagram are “making camo cool” and “masculine with a feminine touch”, and as someone who lived through the live laugh love Pinterest deer antlers and Buffalo Plaid as a motif for a boy’s nursery vibe of the early 2010’s I’m begging her to be so serious right now. Did you know before Paige NO BRANDS were into making sport and fashion like hot and chic, like making it look good to steal your dad’s Carhartt jacket? Never mind that Carhartt is a brand! Paige invented it! Except then she says that actually it’s because she “worked” at a ski shop where they were selling men’s gear to women and how she thought there was nothing hotter than that. To be fair when I was in middle school and very into the alt artsy girl Julia Stiles in 10 Things I Hate About You look I, too, thought I was the hottest shit imaginable for stealing my dad’s old L.L. Bean’s flannels and wearing them with low rise cargo pants and tank tops and Vans sneakers. But I also didn’t make this my whole personality as an adult. “Like there’s nothing hotter than a woman, a true woman, wearing something mensy.” I feel I could teach an entire gender studies college seminar on the amount of internalized misogyny in this interview and contained in this sentence specifically. “Again, I had the idea before I had the infrastructure. So I was printing on blanks, you know, someone made a video of it like peeling off and I’m like yeah no shit, I’m literally getting this, like I’m buying this blank and shipping it out of my garage.” Girl. Ma’am. The problem isn’t that you were doing that, the problem is that you’re charging, what $50 for that? And do you know how easy it is to make a better product? Screen printing is INCREDIBLY easy and cheap. You can get better quality printing materials at Micheal’s. I’ve seen and own stuff from local businesses and artists that are also printing on blanks and they charge less and make better products. The problem is the obvious disdain you have for your customer base, that you would do this, when people bring it up gaslight them and block them and get pissy with them in their TikTok comments, and then years later be like “hahahaha of course that’s how I started”. It’s the same grift she does with her fillers that she “got dissolved” and the editing her pictures she “no longer does”. Do a thing so obviously thinking your audience is the biggest load of idiots you can squeeze for money, when they aren’t idiots and call you out do everything in your power to stop them, and then years later admit to it and try to sell it as you being so cool and relatable and honest. But you see, Paige is so successful now because “I wasn’t scared of that, I wasn’t scared to learn”. But the point is a) you were, you literally torched multiple snark subs for this exact reason and b) even if you weren’t YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Shame exists for a REASON. “I bootstrapped the whole business.” I… girl you did not. Like even if you hadn’t had your dad’s money, you didn’t! You just didn’t! Here, let me have Barack Obama explain this to you better than I could because genuinely what the fuck. I'm sorry I'm apparently the first one to tell Paige this but no one is an island who does things on their own and we do live in a society. Anyway, Paige says she now has in-house designers and nothing is dropshipped so mark that for in about three years when she’s on some other podcast where she goes “hahaha of course everything was made in sweatshops and dropshipped, I never pretended it wasn’t!” Also Paige believes everyone who buys their products knows their quality and everyone who doesn’t is a bot. “I get tagged in so many videos like ‘Paige Lorenze blocked me’ and it’s like, you probably did something”. Yeah, how dare someone… (flips back through notes) follow Morgan Riddle? No, that can’t be right. “By the way I am never blocking people off of if they like a post about whatever”. Ahhhh we’ve reached the part where we’re just confidently and demonstrably lying, cool, cool cool cool. “I think there’s a misconception that I don’t take criticism well and I think in the beginning of my career… as an empath… it was really hard for me.” I SCREAMED OUT LOUD AND SCARED MY PETS. AN EMPATH AN EMPATH!?!?!?!?!? I, too, as an empath, love to use burner sockpuppet accounts to come into people’s DMs calling them slurs and telling them to off themselves for reporting on things I do on public platforms. What empath doesn’t, truly. “I can tell you that the hate I get has never impacted my business once”. I mean I’m sure it didn’t, there are people who make entire lifetime’s worth of money fundraising off of their right to say the N word to someone because it’s “freedom of speech”, hate is a totally viable marketing tool. It involves selling your soul to the devil and will always collapse in the end, but in the short term, yeah. But also that’s apples and oranges, Paige, which is why this only works in the short term. Your audience buys things because they’re in a club or group, the haters are outside in a different group. It doesn’t matter how many are in one group or another and those two groups don’t live in the same reality or interact. The problem is that this only works in one direction, you can add people to team hater from team fan when you, say, take weeks or months to ship their orders or overcharge them for dropshipped from China bullshit or because you and your audience age out of each other or any of the other obvious things you’re not thinking of and corners you’re cutting and mistakes you’re making. Those aren’t things you feel the consequences of immediately, those are things that you feel later down the line when you get married or turn thirty or Tommy dumps you or Instagram takes away all the followers you bought so brands stop wanting to work with you or whatever else it is that means your fifteen minutes of relevance are up, and that’s when you’ll be fucked because no matter how much you insist otherwise you didn’t do things “the right way”. Paige requires Halle tell her that she is also elevating being a WAG because she’s not just any WAG, she’s THEE WAG. Mind you, we went into this saying we wanted to talk about getting married to Tommy and all we say is that he’s “theeeee sweetest man” and that’s it, it’s then all about Paige viewing their relationship as a business opportunity and “elevating”. Relationships because you like someone and think of them as a whole and complete person that you want to spend your life and foster companionship and connection with is for suckers and poor people! Instead she has to - and I shit you not, this is truly the podcast where we say all the quiet parts out loud - talk about how this is a good business opportunity because living in Connecticut means she doesn’t dress up as much so now she can dress up for tennis matches and this “adds layers to her content”. If any man I dated when asked about me could only say that I was “sweet” and “supportive" and “added layers to his content” the way I would dump him so fast it would break the space-time continuum. Again Paige must mention she, too, is an athlete and a ski racer. “Honestly my tennis content kind of performs best of all my content. But to be honest, and I’ve said this before, being a WAG is the most - I mean the LEAST interesting thing about me and I don’t want to make it too much of my personality.” Well, it’s too late for (gestures vaguely) all of that. Sometimes around the forty minute mark this goes completely off the rails where Halle gives up and all the questions become “Paige, how are you so perfect and do it all so perfectly?” and Paige just talks about how great it is and how she’s invented a new type of feminism. Because before Paige, we didn’t see women doing and having it all. See before, especially coming from New England, women could only become a lawyer or work at a bank which was… not feminism, I guess. And then Paige gets upset and defends Trad Wives and how they actually work so hard and are bosses and like yeah no girl, we know, that’s the point. That’s why people don’t like them. Because they preach submission and being simple and conservative and back to basics while actually just being influencers doing influencer shit and running a business. Because it’s okay when THEY do it, but when you don’t do it or can’t do it because you have to put food on the table then it’s a failing on YOUR part. The problem is the hypocrisy. Wedding section where Paige says she wants her wedding to be - and you have to brace yourself for this vision because no one has ever done it like her before - a big party. And also objectifying and infantilizing “The Gays” as accessories and the only people they want to party with, that’s also cool love that. Because they have the aura and vibes and smell nice? I’ve heard they’re also, you know, human beings with thoughts and feelings, but unclear if Halle and Paige have heard that as well. Unclear if Paige gets that Tommy has those either though, to be fair, because she lists that she values Tommy’s opinion because he’s not a businessman and he’s simple and humble. So basically, she values that Tommy is dumb. They really love to talk about how simple Tommy is. Other things that are important to her about Tommy: he’s hardworking, he’s a man, he embodies her brand, he’s American but in a “fresh” way, he loves playing for his country, he’s all the things that Paige also embodies as a person and as a brand What is the opposite of relationship goals because I’ve never wanted to stay single for the rest of my life or join a nunnery more Paige says also the picture we circulate of what she looked like “before” we all made her bigger in it (sure) and also that she thought she looked like Megan Fox in it so good to know her delusion has been a lifelong condition. But also her excuse is that “no one looks like they did in high school” I’m ten years older than Paige and have reconnected and caught up with a few friends from high school in the last year who all went “oh my god you haven’t aged a DAY” and that’s that on letting yourself be the weight you’re going to be by eating three meals a day, leaving your face alone, wearing sunscreen, and hydrating. Anyway Paige is SO salty about “some people” (us) thinking she “had a face transplant”. One of the listener questions is how soon is too soon to ask a man what you are and Paige says very emphatically you should never have to ask a man “what you are” and I am going to go right ahead and say that’s terrible but very in character passive-aggressive advice. So Paige brought you close to say that and I’m going to bring you closer and say no. You need to communicate clearly in relationships. If you have questions, you need to ask them. People are not mind readers. Don’t leave things to vibes and implications, that’s how miscommunications and hurt feelings happen. If you expect that people are going to live by arbitrary rules and expectations you have in your head and then don’t explain what those are or let questions and resentments fester or run from anyone who inspires a single question or need for clarification inside of you, that’s a great way to never grow and learn as a person and have terrible relationships because you feel resentful and take it out in covertly the way Paige does forever. Oh thank god we’re done, this is nine pages long single spaced and I hate every choice in my life that led me to this point. God bless you if you for whatever godforsaken reason read this far and goodbye forever. submitted by /u/Formal_Pea9167 to r/nycinfluencersnarking [link] [comments]

LES WIDEBOYS
Full Suit - Half Balloon Cabinet Maker Brown This is NOT your Carhartt Carpenter pant! Dating from 1880 - these are the original work pants - wide cut, button fly, with a balloon shape , sweeping down to an 8 inch ankle in canvas, drill, moleskin or corduroy… They are the quintessential french work pants. Loose fitting with varying widths and faintly comic names: The Straight, Half Hussar, Full Hussar (based on cavalry pants) and for work: The Balloon, Half Balloon and the voluminous Full Balloon.. With nicknames like “wideboy” or "big boy" and commonly known in France as ... The Largeot. Half Balloon, Balloon, Full Balloon LA FONT LE LARGEOT "I remember in particular the silhouette of a carpenter, tall and sturdy, who always wore a wide red flannel belt rolled several times around his waist and brown velvet* trousers with slightly baggy sides." – Robert Debré, The Honor of Living Testimony. Paris. *By velvet he refers to corduroy Unlike many workwear items with uncertain origins, or different parties claiming to be the creator, the Largeot has a well documented originator: Adolphe Lafont of Lyon, France. Curiously, it is claimed that he was the creator of the “carpenters overalls/dungaree” in 1844 (later perfected by Levi Strauss). The Largeot came a little later being sold by Lafont from around 1890. LaFonts Storefront Lyon WIDE-FITTERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE AND TAKE OVER Worn for ease of movement while working they were sold to and worn by most trades. Although the black moleskin or corduroy trousers were initially designed for carpenters they were quickly adopted by construction workers, roofers and more. Held up by a fabric belt or sash they soon became a symbol of the Workers Rights. The construction industry was the driving force behind this labor movement at the time and wide ranging strikes in Paris in 1909 led by earthmovers on the Paris metro construction sites, united many of the working class.. From Postal Workers to Railway Men. Happy Striker - In Half Balloon and Sash Paris 1909 Images of workers in their “Largeot” adorned posters in the socialist and trade unionist imagery of the time. Political illustrations and caricatures presented the Largeot as the worker's garment and contrasted it with the “capitalist bourgeois” stiff shirting and formal black suits. Parisian Socialist vs Stiff Bourgeois "On Sundays, he puts on a clean shirt, a less dirty felt hat, a less green overcoat, swaps his old, loamy trousers for a brand new pair of wide, black velvet (cord de roi) ones, his red flannel belt for a blue one, and, hand behind his back, still with the same slow step, goes off to wander the streets." – Auguste Brepson , A kid, Paris, Rieder, 1928, p. 227. COLORS, TRADES AND MODERNITY As with much traditional workwear, the color of the pants varies depending on the trade: black is dedicated to carpenters and roofers. Ecru or beige fabric is mainly used by sculptors or stonemasons. Brown for cabinetmakers and joiners. And blue is associated with shipwrights, metalworkers and later general workers and factories. LaFont - Black for The Roofer In France these professions have managed to preserve their codes and wide-legged trousers remain favored for their robustness and comfort. Throughout the 20th century, the Largeot was a modern and authentic pair of trousers. Today, they are traditional trousers, carrying ancestral values and a strong heritage. Much like the cachet of champagne from the Champagne region or British pork pies from Melton Mowbray, French trade associations , the “compagnons-du-devoir” recognise the Largeot as the “official heritage pants" for tradesmen. Le Laboureur - Note The High Waisted Version Left. HOOKS, LOOPS, POCKETS AND SUSPENDERS Only a handful of companies still produce The Largeot and while some models have added and adapted with, higher waists, tool loops and suspender buttons; thigh pockets for a folding rule, pencil and gauge; a cinch back and even, this century - ”quelle horreur!” - cell phone pockets! Still, The Largeot remain steeped in tradition, heritage and respect for the past. Classic Largeot in Ecru For Stonemasons. Note the sudden taper to the ankle. Produced in moleskin, corduroy and a cotton/linen mix the traditional model would be simple with a button fly and slash pockets, a ruler pocket and smaller pocket for the pocket watch. Version with Cinch Back and Suspender Buttons HAMMER TIME NOT “HAMMER TIME” Balloon pants in general have made a kind of streetwear comeback the last 5 or 6 years, but I wonder how many can claim a 200 year history? Indeed most of the modern balloon pants seem based on Japanese styles or Bugle Boy “parachute pants” of the 80s, being much wider both at the leg and ankle. Le Laboureur High Waist Version - Stone Mason Ecru Le Labourer and the original LaFont still produce genuine traditional models, paired with the same brand/material chore coat is the look for me! Classic Half Balloon By LeFont - around $110 to $140 Available in Black, Ecru, Brown, Blue and Corduroy Classic Half Balloon By Le Laboureur “Ploughman”- around $110 - $165 Available in Black, Ecru, Blue, Brown and Corduroy High Waisted Suspenders/ Cinch Back by LeLabourer around $150-170 Best in Brown Corduroy or Ecru WHERE? Well... France. But a google search will bring up US and Euro stockists (Le Gardehier?). Etsy and the usual suspect have some… in fact just saw a cord pair on Poshmark size 34 waist! https://preview.redd.it/uyobaawk53ff1.jpg?width=430&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=607d51f24b7bdf77600c036683c82b923ae664a6 .. and remember comrades ""Labor is entitled to all it creates."! TL;DR: The Largeot (a.k.a. “wideboy” pants) are classic French work trousers with balloon‑like legs tapering to a narrow ankle. Originating in the late 1800s from Adolphe Lafont of Lyon, they became iconic among tradesmen and a symbol of the French labor movement. Traditionally made in moleskin, corduroy, or canvas, they later featured practical details like cinch backs. Few makers remain (notably Lafont and Le Laboureur), these heritage pants also enjoy a streetwear revival. submitted by /u/garage_artists to r/HeritageWear [link] [comments]

Jeans/pants for welders ‼️
PLEASE women who like high waisted but loose fitting jeans, what are we wearing for welding so we don’t catch on fire? (Starting school August 4th, my brother went to school years ago and jokingly warned me I WILL in fact catch myself on fire a couple times learning.😂) If it helps I’ve tried dickies flex carpenters pants for men, I really loved the look but they were too low rise. Carhartt looks very nice, just very expensive but if it’s worth it it’s worth it. Thanks in advance🙂 submitted by /u/Ordinary-Ad398 to r/BlueCollarWomen [link] [comments]

So I'm looking for work pants and really struggling
Sorry in advance for the long post.. . I have had gastric bypass in the past and lost some weight but I'm left with loose skin around the stomach and thigh areas. I work in manufacturing and regularly get grease, dirt and dust on the pants on the best of days worse days is acid/chemicals or sharp metal ripping through them. Along with the normal thigh rub struggles. I obviously tend towards mens pants for pockets and durability on the job along with wearing steel toed boots I need to cover. I have tried many of the walmart, target, kohl's, and even menards versions of multiple styles of dickies, carhartt, and wrangler cargo, carpenter or electrician style pants they maybe last 2 months but are very uncomfortable with no stretch and end up giving at the seams even with a gusset style crotch. For reference I wear a 38waist /34 inseam for the most part depending on brand. Waist is usually loose but lower stomach and thighs and finding my inseam are the problem. Is there any alternatives that are durable that might give me more thigh room and have a stretch in the stomach/waist? That are also durable can be worn over boots and with pockets? Seems like a unicorn atm and I can't be wearing leggings, Joggers or slacks at work 🙃 Picture is of current wrangler rigg technician pant that i just blew out the thigh of my last pair. submitted by /u/Jessiegyrl to r/BlueCollarWomen [link] [comments]

[FS] [USA] Massive sale of underrated pieces (Stu55y, Chr0me H3arts, P0lo, N0ah, @lyx, Dunk, J0rdan, V1vienne Westwood, N1ke, D1me, Lev1s)
Everything will be shipped promptly and safely. Have sold items successfully on reddit multiple times. All items are deadstock unless specified. Tagged photos and timestamped: https://imgur.com/a/3ScP85m Items for sale, all tagged and timestamped. Prices include shipping. Add $5 shipping cost for West Coast. Can give measurements if requested. Will not sell jewelry alone, bundle needed. Paypal Invoice Only, DM me! ————————- SHOES: No boxes unless specified J0rdan 4 Metallic Green size 9.5: $55 https://imgur.com/a/ipx9Xtd Worn 5+ times. I8 batch, decent quality and upper. The sole has some heel drag and the stars on the toe are almost gone, as well as the midsole paint cracking slightly. Cages are slightly yellowed as well. Overall really soft leather and great quality midsole, no glue stains or sole separation/crumbling. J0rdan 1 Obsidian size 9: $45 https://imgur.com/a/2IWQZSk Medium quality batch from Passersby from almost 2 years ago. Worn maybe 5-6 times I just never wore these with the colors in my wardrobe. Comfortable and leather is good quality, I will try to find the other color laces but not sure if I still have them. N1ke SB D4nk Low Paisley size 9: $45 https://imgur.com/a/DzGHYKs Deadstock. Fits TTS 8.5, the padding of the SB makes it fit small. One of the back tabs has embroidery that is slightly pink, otherwise these look fantastic. Unfortunately they just fit too small for me. N1ke D4nk Low Kasina size 9.5: $45 https://imgur.com/a/7MXU9Vn Worn 3-4 times, ok quality. Leather creases sorta weird and the front of the toe box tends to shrink in if I don’t jam my toes at the top. Some pen marks and the most annoying thing is that the tongue is a sort of foam material that doesn’t allow me to slide on my shoes like I like to. N1ke Saca1 Blazer White/Grey size 9: $40 https://imgur.com/a/LYQnpWf Deadstock. Fits TTS 9. Super budget batch, main 2 flaws are the 2nd back tab is supposed to be cream and and the side tabs are supposed to go over the bottom swoosh. Laces have a few snags on them as well. Not noticeable on feet though because the retails have terrible QC and the swoosh flaw is literally parallel to the ground. Jackets/Hoodies: https://imgur.com/a/sweatshirts-jackets-Onp6DVG Rep Russell Athletic Hoodie Brown (tagged size M but fits like a S): $25 Never worn, brand new but fits me way too small. Cropped and slim fit, no drawstrings included. Rep Stu$sy Black Script Hoodie (tagged size L but fits more like size S/ small M): $25 Worn 3 times, fits like a slightly cropped M. Nice material inside and out, hood and drawstrings are great quality, and nice embroidery and cuff quality that seem like they will last a while. Good color way, but fits too cropped on me to where if I lift my arms up it shows my stomach. Retail Noah Turtle Creneck size M: $30 Worn once, fits TTS. Turtleneck cut with a kangaroo pocket on the front. Heather gray color way with no flaws and patch on left sleeve. Retail Jantzen Wool Patterned Sweater size M: $25 Tagged size L but fits TTS M. Wool construction, but not that itchy. Nice dark colored pattern, never worn and no flaws. Retail 8thwnder Landscape Sweater Tan size M: $35 Retail for $80, worn twice. High quality cotton sweater with landscape/pagoda pattern in dark green. Fits slightly cropped. Retail Think Uncivilized Apple Hoodie Olive size M: $40 Retails for $90, worn once. Retail Abercrombie Knitted Polo White size M: $20 High quality cotton knitted polo with loose construction, transparent. Fits TTS, never worn. Rep Random Grey/Tan Flannel size M: $12 Worn once, tagged L but fits more like a S to slim M. Great color, has some random branding on the outside. On the thinner side. Retail Chaps P0lo Herringbone Sweater Red size L: $20 Fits oversized, worn twice. Great quality and soft cotton, just fits too small. Also, sleeves and bottom are not elastic. Tops: https://imgur.com/a/tops-DS04ZYL Rep Venezia Fantasy Kit size M: $25 Never worn, great quality print and kit. Fits TTS. Blank White Tee size M: $15 Fits like a TTS S, decent quality tee and print. Worn once but too small on me. Green Knit Polo size M: $15 Fits TTS, good quality but fits slightly tapered at the waist. Pants: https://imgur.com/a/pants-MKBYtzl and https://imgur.com/a/pants-shorts-4iB2JMd Rep Nike ACG Nylon Shorts Brown size M: $20 Brand new with tags, fits wide legged with high quality zippers and belt closure. Rep Levis 501 Jeans size M (fits like 30x32): $25 Brand new with tags, high quality denim with slight distressing on hem. Rep Dime Patchwork Jeans size M (fits like 32x32): $35 Brand new never worn, super high quality jeans with amazing details and tags. Very high quality denim with loose fit. Rep Nike Nylon Shorts Black size S: $15 Worn 5 times. Good quality nylon shorts but they don’t fit my thighs. Rep Pol0 Ralph L@uren Heavy Sweatpants Grey size M: $20 Fits TTS, never worn. Nice quality sweatpants that have a heavy fleece lining, just too thick for me to wear. Embroidery and tag still attached. Rep Carhartt Cargo Pants Black size S: $18 Worn 5 times, decent quality cargo pants that don’t fit me anymore. Fits like a 30/30 but the crotch was tight on me. One of the back pockets came without a button. Rep Cargo Pants Cream size S: $18 Fits TTS 28 waist and 30 length. I wish I sized up on these because they’re a dope design but again, they don’t fit over my ass. Retail Dickies Double-Knee Carpenter Pants cream size 30x30: $25 Fits TTS, but they don’t fit over my ass. Also they have a slight speckle effect which I have tried to show in pictures. Never worn but washed once. Rep “Carh@rrt” Carpenter Jeans Brown size M: $18 Fits TTS M, I ordered these and when they came in I realized the tag on the back doesn’t say Carh@rrt but something else lmao. Otherwise great quality but not happy about the tag. Retail Grey Pacsun Sweatshorts size S: $15 Fit oversized M, good quality and French Terry inside. Worn Once. Rep Random Dress Pants Brown size 30x28: $15 These fit super short on me but they are great quality, slightly elastic waistband and nice velvety material. Retail Levis 505 Jeans size 32x30: $15 Heavy denim and great quality stitching. Worn in, only flaw is back tab is heavily worn. Belt: https://imgur.com/a/rep-accessories-kqzu4OW Rep u/lyx Roller Coaster Belt: $20 Never Worn, high quality metal belt buckle and quality belt loop. Women in carpentry
Hi all, I'm a soon to be college graduate getting into a heavily manual labored field. I have a carpenter internship for the summer and am currently trying to find work pants that will stand up to the job but still fit. I just spent over an hour in Carhartt trying on pants, and any that were built to stand up to work were men's and therefore didn't fit right, any that were women's also didn't fit right because they were practically skinny jeans. Up till now I've been wearing jeans in the wood shop, but the ones I can find that fit end up wearing down too quickly and needing to be replaced constantly. I need something more durable that will still fit my body comfortably without having to obnoxiously belt it so it will fit to my hips. I am curvy and tall so finding pants that fit has always been a struggle, but adding in durability just made it 10x harder. Any suggestions on where I can find quality work pants for women, I am getting so frustrated using trial and error and I'm running out of time to find something before my internship. submitted by /u/Astronaut-Imaginary to r/AskWomenOver30 [link] [comments]

Double Fronts for someone who wears pants below the waist?
I really want to buy Carhartt Double Fronts (1st pic), however my pants sit pretty low on my waist and I’m afraid that the rise on the Carhartt's won’t be comfortable on my thighs. I’ve been wearing Dickies Carpenters and they’re comfortable but they’re not as loose as I would like. Could someone help me out providing some guidance comparatively to the rise of both pants? submitted by /u/wavy_slice to r/Carhartt [link] [comments]

Carpenter pants for awkwardly sized men
Hi all. As the title suggests, I am an awkwardly-sized man. I have ALWAYS run into issues buying clothing, especially pants. Right now I'm on a carpenter pant kick. Carpenter pants would match a lot of what I wear really well. Looking for a light khaki, dark green, and a dark brown. Now for the hard part. I need these pants to NOT be loose/relaxed/straight fit. So far I've only found one pair at Dickies. I'm specifically looking for a tapered fit. I'm short and stubby, so I have a wide waist, thicker thighs, but small ankles. I bought the Carhartt pants that are currently trending in a 38 (which is generally a size up for me) and I couldn't button them, but my legs were DROWNING. If anyone knows where I can look, please point me in the right direction 🙏🏼 submitted by /u/dr330467 to r/mensfashion [link] [comments]

Waxed cotton outfit (wax, jacket, trousers, hat)
Any suggestions for 100% cotton canvas jackets / trousers/ hat, AND a simple 100% natural waxing product that I can use to wax them myself? For bushcraft, camping, and daily use (UK). For jackets / trousers, I have on my list Carhatt or Dickies duck canvas, various Blacksmith products (field pants, smocks, field shirts, jackets). I also found affordable pre-waxed jackets like New Forest and Hoggs of Fife (£60 - £150), if anybody has experience with those compared to waxing stuff themselves, would love to hear (but not Barbour or any of that, can't afford). For hats, I'm thinking just to get pre-waxed Barbour, Failsworth, or Rydale, they all seem OK and reasonably priced. For wax, I've listed Otterwax because it's beeswax not paraffin. I've no experience with any of these. Happy to hear suggestions, what's your waxed outfit? EDIT: I'm aware that waxed cotton may not be very breathable for bushcraft when compared with synthetics, synthetic blends, Ventile, or even wool products like Swanndri or Petromax. But since I'm absolutely not considering synthetics, I'll have to deal with it. I'm going DIY wax because pre-most waxed products are ridiculously expensive. submitted by /u/mothonalog to r/Bushcraft [link] [comments]

4.2kg Haul to UK! PANDABUY - Stussy, Carhartt, New Balance, Doc Martens, etc.
entire haul STATS: Height: 5'10/177cm Build: Skinny Style: Oversized/Baggy Agent: PandaBuy PARCEL INFO: Delivery time: 11days Shipping price: ¥490.00/ $78.52 Shipping method: GD-E-EMS Destination: United Kingdom (England) This wasn't exactly a huge package but just enough for what I wanted for now. I also rehearsed the parcel before shipping (removed tags/packaging) , and declared $110. package T-Shirts Stussy N64 White Tee Size L - CNY ¥ 99/$15.86 - 244g W2C - Been wanting this for a while, I especially liked the N64 nostalgic logo and also enjoy more simple Stussy pieces like this one. Nice baggy feel as I like and pretty good quality and print as usual, bought from Subway Hooligan. 8/10 Stussy Chess White/Blue Tee Size L - CNY ¥ 76/$12.17 - 249g W2C- I'm into chess and liked the design, so I also had this saved for a while. I have a similar real Carhartt chess tee so this will go well in the collection. Again the quality of the print is pretty good, the blank is kind of thin but I don't mind it's better for summer. 7/10 Stussy Star Dusty Blue Tee Ss Size L - CNY ¥ 69/$11.05 - 239g W2C - I like the minimal design in the center of this tee, not really into huge 8balls on the back so this was a good pick for me. Really good quality on the blank and also the print. Just a all round good tee for summer that isn't just white. 8/10 Pants/Shorts: Stussy Brown Shorts Size 32 - CNY ¥ 79/$12.66 - 210g W2C - Amazing quality Stussy shorts, good material for the beach/swimming. Print on the logo has no issues and there is netting inside the pockets. Staple piece for the summer. 8/10 Carhartt Carpenter Pants Brown Size L (32x32) - CNY ¥ 135/$21.63 - 702g W2C - I really have nothing bad to say about these pants, only that they're slightly too long for me and hang over the shoes a little bit too much for how I like however its fine its not really a big issue. The pants are nice and baggy, so with a belt they're fine. Perfect quality in comparison to a real pair I have. I am really impressed with them for only being $21 the pants are pretty much perfect. They're heavy, thick and comfy exactly what you would expect from Carhartt and the logo on the back pocket is near 1:1 same goes for the pants as a whole. 9/10 Shoes: jjjjound x New Balance 990v3 Brown Size UK 42.5 - CNY ¥ 260.0/$41.66 - 945g W2C - Honestly been wanting these for months now so I was just waiting to add them to my next haul, don't have a real pair of new balances to compare to however I see no problems with the quality. The shoe feels amazing, and are really comfy compared to other rep shoes I've bought before. They fit true to size and are just a really nice pair in general. Would say though that they aren't really brown more of a dark army green but still nice. All logos are perfect and I'm really impressed. 9/10 Doc Martens Mens 1461 Size 42 - CNY ¥ 89.0/$14.26 - 1160g W2C - Not really sure what outfit I'd wear with these maybe for some kind of smart occasion or if I have a good outfit for them but for $14 you cant go wrong. They are cheap and I saw them I thought why not get it and just see the quality as a GP but I mean they already have over 1000 sales. They fit a little bit bigger, but the quality is good only issue is with the sole as you can see the glue through them but I mean who's gonna be inspecting the bottom of them. Logos are fine too no issues there, if you're looking for a cheap pair these are perfect. 7/10 Accessories: Carhartt Brown Washed Cap Adjustable 54-60cm - CNY ¥ 39/$6.25 - 93g W2C - Got a few carhartt caps already but I really liked how washed this one is, you can probably tell I like brown so purchasing it in that colour was an easy choice. It fit nicely and is adjustable so pretty much fits all and the quality is as expected with any cap, would buy again from the seller. 9/10 Stussy Tie CNY ¥ 30.9/$4.95 - 50g W2C - Literally have no idea when/if this will ever be used, I dont even know how to tie a tie but the design was cool and i'll just leave it under my bed until one day it becomes useful. Overall: This wasn't a huge haul but for my second ever, it satisfied my capitalistic hunger for reps; for now. Also helping me get a few items for the summer. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, I ordered on the 17th of January and it arrived on the 27th,so 11days. Which is really impressive especially as it is in the middle of Chinese new year but I guess I ordered just in time and as usual GD-E-EMS doesn't disappoint (well it hasn't so far). The package came perfect with no damage to any of my items and even the box, I rehearsed with carton packaging, stretch film and corner protection, and also removed the shoes from their box and they came fine and not disfigured. I'm happy with the quality of all the products and PandaBuy as an agent, they were helpful with any queries and also easy to use. Would recommend anyone to use them and I would buy from them again 100%. 10/10 Pandabuy Any feedback/comments is welcomed and appreciated :) submitted by /u/n0cturnalCam to r/Pandabuy [link] [comments]

Style Interview: u/HalfTheGoldTreasure
No introduction is really needed here so I'll keep it brief for people who may not be as familiar. /u/HalfTheGoldTreasure is an active user and WAYWT poster as well as a moderator of this forum. Well known for mixing Ivy & prep influences with some streetwear and westernwear, they've contributed significantly to this forum and I felt like celebrating that. HalfTheGoldTreasure Fits How did your style journey begin? Would you say there was a specific inciting incident that made you start considering your clothing differently, or was it a more gradual journey? It started when I was young, probably 13. I think I mentioned before that I had a huge gap in my (fairly jacked up) teeth and when I was going to get braces the recession hit and that was out of the cards. So I ended up very self conscious and had some pretty poor self image, never really like I was attractive. I kinda funneled that into feeling like if I wasn’t going to be hot, at least I could be well dressed. From there, I kinda learned how much I loved clothes. I loved just getting dressed up. And I’d always put together outfits in my room if I was bored. I loved the idea of being able to recreate a style. Almost like creating a character. I think that experience was pretty formative for where I ended up: posting pictures of outfits for other guys on the internet Looking at fit pics of yours from early 2018 to now, you definitely started off dressing (or at least posting) in what would've been considered closer to MFA's "house style", but it seems like there were some prep influences even early on, before arriving at your current style. Is prep something that you would say has a larger or formative influence on your life outside of fashion? I've heard prep described as closer to a lifestyle or a subculture than as a purely aesthetic movement - would you say that rings true for your experience? It’s crazy it was only 2018, I feel like it was so much longer ago but that tracks, that was just about when I had graduated college and moved back home. To preface my next statement, I need to be clear I was completely offline until like 5 years ago, basically when I finished college. I had a twitter where I followed 100 friends, an instagram where I followed 150 friends and I would check NBA scores on my laptop. I found MFA only cause I used reddit to stream NBA games and read r/NBA. I cannot emphasize how much I straight up only used the computer to keep up with professional basketball (and college during March Madness). So with that stipulated, I would like to proudly declare that I came to the MFA house style completely independently of MFA. I am constantly learning old MFA lore cause at that time I was watching Derek Rose highlight compilations on YouTube. I came to the basic bastard because it was just sort of in the zeitgeist at the time. I’ve always had a very strong sense of what’s “good” and “bad” with clothes. At the time the minimalist, post-heritage menswear look was the thing to beat and I went all in. I wanted to be seen as well dressed in college and that sort of smart casual look was the move at the time. I remember I was specifically called out by a professor (whose schtick was wearing a sweater vest every class) for always wearing a crew neck sweater over a button down to class. He said that’s a kid with style and I was embarrassed but secretly very pleased. Looking back, I was going to class and hanging out and going to bars to drink the cheapest beer wearing business casual. At the time, that preppy minimalism was very much “hipster” for the school I went to. I was also mixing in dad caps and this sick Martha’s Vineyard ball cap, that wasn’t quite a dad hat and wasn’t quite a flat brim that would kiiiillll today, and some really faded t-shirts from high school that were coming back around (like one for when my high school went to the hockey conference semi-finals). As for the prep influences, I’m from Connecticut, specifically the part of Connecticut (or close enough to it) that people picture in their heads when you tell them you’re from Connecticut. Prep was everywhere around me, it was kids wearing Sperry’s to high school, and every dress shirt, for any occasion, being an OCBD, and everyone wearing Polo (especially the polos and quarter zips). It was just everywhere. And as a kid who didn’t have a lot of money, and was super self conscious about how he looked, I noticed it everywhere. And I wanted to be part of it. But even more so than that my dad is from the sticks in New Hampshire. Like a small town in the woods, and when he went to college in the 70s he was doing Ivy cause that’s what they wore. The tweed, the OCBDs, the cord blazers. And the entire time I was growing up he was always in a blue, or white or yellow OCBD, like every single day. My Wythe blue OCBD I have looks and feels exactly like the ones he used to wear as a kid. I’ve lived in New England/the Northeast my entire life, and I can’t imagine living elsewhere. I want to retire to Maine and spend the rest of my days in head to vintage LL Bean doing LL Bean things. It wasn’t until I got to college that I realized that wasn’t the standard, which is about when I started leaning in harder. I never really got homesick and I never wanted to go back home, but I liked having something that felt a bit like hometown pride. I really do love a lot of prep and ivy. There’s a lot of romance to the aesthetic. Animal House, The Graduate, The Talented Mr Ripley, even Dirty Dancing. You see those films and the clothes are so iconic and backdrops are so beautiful and green and outdoors. You post a pic wearing a gun club check blazer and a unistripe shirt, that shits going right in my IG stories. New drakes cookbook? I’ll eat that shit right up. Ivy and prep will never die, every ten years or so you’ll hear about how it’s back but this time it’s ______. That’s cause it is at its core one of the pillars of American Fashion (alongside workwear/westernwear and streetwear/sportswear) and will only return again because of how deeply it’s entrenched in how Americans look at fashion. But you’re right that prep isn’t just an aesthetic. Its place in American mythology is because it’s the uniform of privilege. It’s what was worn at America’s top institutions and the predatory schools where their families could afford to send them. It's always been a class signifier. 50 years ago, wearing your navy sack suit and ivy university tie meant the white guy sitting across the desk from you could tell you went to his alma mater and probably came from “a good family” and that’s how you got a job. The unspoken rules and class signifiers were always there. Today it’s morphed into the frat boy uniform: Southern Tide, Vineyard Vines, golf polo from a Big East or SEC school. It’s a marker of white privilege and structural inequality, and as such, it’s really hard for me to want to be a part of that. However, all of that being said, Ivy/Prep is pretty generally only an aesthetic movement, sustained by enthusiasts, these days. Normal people are not wearing prep, they’re wearing business casual. The people buying OCBDs are either hardcore enthusiasts, cosplaying as 70s students, looking for the most insanely minute details or a new college grad buying shirts to wear because they read oxfords were the best choice on the internet. Because I really don’t fall into the modern “Barstool Couture” prep variety, to most people I look like a fashion guy. I cannot think of a single time I’ve been called preppy by anyone who didn’t have a strong knowledge of basic aesthetics. I think this is due in part to the fact that since I think of prep as an aesthetic, I freely blend it with a variety of other ideas, as opposed to many of the staunchest defenders of Amotora. I always think about the fact that the guy who really defined what Prep is in America (at least from a fashion perspective), Ralph Lauren himself, was a poor, jewish kid from the Bronx who would absolutely not belong to the UES or New Englanders on which he based his designs. I think there’s something to be said about the dynamics of Prep and what it means to be accepted in America . I think it’s very telling that the people who do Ivy the most interestingly are Japanese Ametora brands and the Black Ivy. But my takeaway is that looking in on those who just did it was what made me do it too. I've noticed what I perceive as something of a streetwear slant in some of your item and styling choices over the years. Would you say that you're consciously influenced by streetwear? Yeah I think for years I've been trending more streetwear but the recent Neo-Prep trend kinda kicked it into higher gear. It’s mostly cause I wear business casual for work and at the end of the day I don’t want to go to a bar in business casual, even if it’s cool bizcas. I think EG was a good gateway into that styling, particularly when I started to see less of the Advanced J Crew (Bedford and chinos aka the easy pass to a MFA TopWAYWT) styling and more of the baggier milsurp snearkers/gorpcore stylings via stores or IG accounts. And don’t get me wrong, I love white t shirts. But I love my Kevin Garnett bootleg graphic T just as much. It was actually the search for graphic Ts that pushed me further to try new brands. I was like who makes graphics…Carhartt WIP I guess? Then I was checking out Online Ceramics and then Brain Dead and then I was thinking, what if I went back to the source and then I’m looking at Stussy graphics and now its Supreme. I really love basketball as well, which holds such an important place, alongside skating, in the development of streetwear as a movement. It's very nice to be able to include some of my interest In the my style. It's fairly easy for me to make the subtle transition to more streetwear inspired looks because workwear and sportswear both overlap so easily with prep inspired basics. It’s just a matter of choosing the right version of the items. Things like Carhartt Detroit jackets, varsity jackets, and hefty grey hoodies have the right combo of vintage styling that fits in with an ivy aesthetic but are also very contemporary. Carpenter pants and double knees slot in as an alternative for chinos or white jeans but are staples of contemporary streetwear. The streetwear cardigan moment was great for me, cause now cool brands are making cool versions of the knitwear I already wear. I could buy a mohair cardigan from Needles or Stussy today, and have no issue pairing it with my existing wardrobe. I am currently desperately waiting for a Supreme sweater, to make the streetwear takeover of my closet complete. Before you say it, I am aware I am just doing Aime Leon Dore. Speaking of styling choices, we've discussed before how you use them (things like buttoning specific buttons to alter the shape of outerwear, specific cuffing heights, shirts tucked vs. exposed, etc.) as a way of creating more visual interest and personality in outfits. Do you view the formation of an outfit as complete when the individual pieces have been selected, with the styling of those pieces as a secondary process? Or are you creating the outfit with the styling in mind from the beginning? A good outfit is a case where the whole is more than the sum of its parts. There’s a huge difference between buying and wearing cool pieces and wearing a cool outfit. Cool outfits needs a concept, even simple concepts like I’m gunna do a take on hiking gear or I’m gunna wear a Carhartt jacket with chinos or I’m going to mix a bunch of fall textures or I wanna wear these 3 colors together. But that’s not the end, styling is how you take the items and make them feel more than just clothes. The details on the rest of the outfit should support that concept. Use an untucked shirt as a mid layer to drop some color in. Button at the top of the jacket (or use the GOAT double zipper) to show off the shirt underneath. Let a shirt collar hang loose over the top of a sweater or unbutton the collar of a button down below a v neck. It’ll look more relaxed and interesting. Other moves give an outfit personality: a sweater over an untucked shirt reads a bit more casual (sprezzatura, if you will), almost disheveled, plus sometimes I wanna wear a sweater and not feel like I’m at work! Same concept applies to a hoodie with some t shirt below it. A t shirt under a button down can be perceived as slouchier. I love popping my collar on a jacket, not even to protect from the wind I just think it looks cool. I tie the laces on all my hoodies, cause it’s what I’ve always done. It’s important to have little quirks that run as a throughline through your style. These embellishments unify all the various styles you try out. Having various ways of styling an item make it much more rewearable as well. Wearing a jacket open, fully closed up, buttoned at the top, making use of a double zipper are all ways of getting more versatility out of a piece. I never get tired of wearing my Barbour cause every time I do, I style it differently. It makes me reach for it so much more and never Lastly, styling decisions are also very important for blending aesthetics or concepts. You can use those styling moves to cement the mixing of the styles beyond just combining items of different genres. Pants breaking on sneakers is going to read more streetwear, while cuffed is going to invoke the hipster/prep/minimalist/heritage menswear because it was such a big part of those movements. Being aware of the historic and cultural moments More broadly, are there any designers or brands that have been particularly influential for you? And are there any that are current favorites? Pretty obviously, ALD has had the most profound influence on me. The blend of heritage prep and contemporary streetwear and their impeccable styling is all I’ve ever aspired to do. It’s perfectly new and familiar and I think that’s a hard balance to strike. They also completely convinced me to get a sweatsuit. It’s the best styling inspiration around and every season is basically a shopping list I use to start my eBay searches. I’ve said before and I stand by it: good ALD fits have 1 ALD piece. The best ones have none and that's a goal to which I always aspire. Other than ALD, I’m not sure I’m particularly inspired by “a brand” (maybe J Crew in years past). There’s lots of brands I like but not really any I’d wear head to toe. I’m mostly a pick a piece here and there from a bunch of brands, and combine them into my own thing kinda guy. Like I love EG, and it was the first step up brand I learned about but the EG brand identity is not really my vibe. I’ve put off FA Pants or the Aircraft pants for too long tho and really need a pair. I genuinely like the new J Crew, I also liked the old J Crew tbh. There were only a few years I wasn’t really buying from J Crew. I think this iteration better than Brendan’s work at NOAH (which I find kinda boring due to ehh styling in their lookbooks) even if it’s not as “high quality.” I think BB is very good at what he does, walking the very difficult line of blending prep and westernwear, but I think his styling is subpar and doesn’t pop or stick in my brain like other brands’ styling does. Also their inseams are always too short for me so I never buy any. I love Wythe. I very much appreciate the soft, contemplative country style over the WHISKEY, LUMBER, DENIM, MEN heritage workwear of the early 2010s (coincidentally, that’s also the kind of country music I like). It reminds me a lot of OrSlow. And I appreciate being able to buy the staples each year. I like having a way to add some subtle cowboy to an outfit. I look forward to their stuff every season. They make the perfect shirt to wear with a pair of jeans that can also be worn under a suit to immediately make it more interesting. I am very into Supreme’s FW22. I’ve been eyeing several pieces that I think could absolutely slot into my wardrobe and bring an immediate spark. Same with Stussy the last couple years. The current lineup is reasonably priced (+ deep secondhand market) workwear, fleeces, cardigans, graphic knitwear that can slot easily into most wardrobes. I’ll always recommend J Press as a place to get OCBDs and Shaggy Dogs, but aside from the icons I’m not buying much. Brands that I would like to try some day include Drake’s and Evan Kinori. I love that Drakes makes the platonic ideal of a lot of prep staples and their guncheck overcoat is a grail. EK is sick, I really appreciate Simplewear guys because I find that sort of carefully curated minimalism very striking. EK zipper jackets and field shirts are gorgeous and infinitely wearable. I am interested in finally buying a Brain Dead graphic T, after how much I wear my Online Ceramics ones. I love the edginess of them. Similarly, I’ve been buying a bunch of bootleg graphic Ts for bands and movies from instagram sellers these days. I also love Full Court Press for basketball related gear! Brands that I’m looking for the right piece to finally snag: Palace, there was a pink bowling shirt this pre-fall that really caught my eye. Some patched denim from FDMTL and something vintage from Brut Archives have been big priorities for me, something from Kapital would be cool too. Not a fleece but something that intersects with my current style. Maybe a fucked up denim jacket (I had a chance to buy a coverall and I hesitated and it left the deepest sale I’d ever encountered). As for brands I really appreciate but would never wear: I really appreciate Nanamica/NFPL for interesting tech stuff that isn’t tech wear. Gramicci, Manatash, Snow Peak and lots of other Japanese gorpcore brands. The simpleness of the designs and interesting silhouettes are very cool, even if not for me. Mfpen, Studio Nicholson, Sillage, and Lemaire are all so striking. I love them every time I see them. I think if I were to ever do it all over, that would be the skill tree I’d pour my exp (hard earned cash from working a job) into. I like that the guys who wear it look like they have very cool, nicely decorated apartments. Those are probably some of my favorites to see but not anything I’d wear. And I would be remiss, to not give the remainder of my time to the GOAT, Ralph Lauren. It sucks that so much of what people know of Ralph is polos and quarter zips with a little embroidered polo player on it. Ralph understands Americana in a way that few others do. He understands that New England barn coats, and OCBDs are Americana, and that Jeans and huge belt buckles and denim jackets are Americana, and that Old New York Glamour and Tuxedos and Gowns are Americana and that sportswear and streetwear are Americana. And since he understands that he was able to combine them in ways that people who separated them into distinct categories could never. He has these iconic looks: the tuxedo jacket with jeans, or the tweed sports coat over a double denim ensemble. They’re so distinctly Ralph and I really love that. He creates characters through styling, you can look at any of the polo bears and see them. I really love him and think he’s far too under-appreciated for the way he saw how everything connects. Are there any particular articles of clothing that you feel a close personal connection to, whether you wear them often or not? Probably my uni-stripe OCBD. Like I said above, it reminds me of my dad, but it’s also not the exact one he wore, so it feels more like me. Unis have been my go to color way of OCBDs for years and the one I wear now is a J Press with the button flap pocket. I love that detail. I know thousands of other people have one like it but this one feels like it's all mine. It’s incredibly broken in and easy to wear. There are countless photos of me in it. I wore it when I proposed to my fiancé. It’s what I grab when I don’t know what to wear. It’s just my shirt. Do you feel that your wardrobe is "complete", in the sense that new purchases are made not to fill specific holes (like "I really need a longer coat") but instead for pure enjoyment of the design? And are there any pieces or stylistic directions that you feel yourself being drawn to or that you specifically desire to explore? I could use a navy moleskin chore coat and a second suit that I can easily make into separates to round out my work clothes. But after that I’m basically only buying things I think are cool. I still have to work in a business casual office a few days a week. But I just have so much stuff that I can cover basically any situation from casual to formal and always be appropriately dressed. So aside from looking for things that can do a bit of double duty, I’m looking to grab stuff that advances my style further into the blend of aesthetics I’ve developed. Jordan 1s or 4s are on top of my list. A pair of Paraboot loafers eventually. I dunno, I have so many clothes as is. I need to cut down my closet to fit it in my apartment. I’m looking forward to simplifying. You mentioned looking forward to simplifying, and that's a trend I've noticed in a lot of people over the years with fashion; they start off pretty narrow in scope, expand into many different styles and all the things they want to try, and eventually start to settle into their more long-term personal style. Do you have any general (or specific) advice you would want to give to people who might be coming across this interview and just starting out on their journey? Yeah, my advice is to follow that path. You learn so much by trying new things, the most important of which is how to appreciate things that aren’t for you and the proper pace to experiment at. Like personally, I love how crazy sneakers look on other people. I love crazy sneakers and I’ve experimented a bunch, most recently with reebok beatniks, but at the end of the day I just reached for my white sneakers. And that's fine! I’m a white sneaker guy! I love white sneaks! I am going to keep buying white versions of cool sneaks so that I actually wear them. I think most people go out, try everything they could possibly like within reason, have a huge closet, and then only reach for the stuff that they were into when they got started. Because at the end of the day, that's what got you into it in the first place, it holds a lot of emotional value! But it’s not the exact stuff, it's better in quality, or cut or color. Then you can take all the experience you have with all these things you tried, and all the stuff that survived countless wardrobe cullings and you have developed a personal style. In summary, my advice would be to be patient, take the journey, no one who dresses with a defined personal aesthetic got there overnight. My general advice to anyone starting out is that there’s a difference between dressing cool/acceptable/nice and having a carefully curated, defined personal aesthetic that you may see from posters on this sub or on instagram. Both are equally valid (as someone who has worked to curate said aesthetic), however, I don’t think it’s necessary to move out of Urban Outfitters, J Crew or Uniqlo spectrum to move into Cool/Acceptable/Trendy/Nice territory. I think quality is way, way, way overrated and “Buying-For-Life” will trick you into owning really expensive stuff that you may not even like in a year. In general, your interest in clothes will die well before typical mall tier clothes do, so might as well buy something cool that you like. If you like it enough to keep wearing it you will realize what qualities you would like to look for in an upgrade piece. Thrifting and ebay are a good way to test things out, but are also a money hole. I have wasted so much cash on things that didn’t fit or weren’t exactly what I wanted or that need enough tailoring to reduce any savings I would have had from buying new. The amount I was spending on clothes reduced a ton when I stopped just ordering everything on ebay, particularly cause ebay is great for scratching the “I need to spend $40 to feel something” quick hit in lieu of the I waited and got something that i really want satisfaction. However, that's also a byproduct of basically completing the foundation of my wardrobe. I have enough chinos, OCBDs, Jeans, and go-to jackets and coats. All of this is to say, when building a new wardrobe, focus on getting a foundation. Pick a style you like, pick someone who dresses well in that style and copy the key pieces that you can try on in a mall or local outlets, even if it’s not exact. Trying to recreate is a much more valuable experiment than buying exactly what they’re wearing, particularly since it’s either gunna be expensive!!! Or Secondhand!! Or from a past season!!! When you do want to buy a fun bold piece, be thoughtful, consider if you can make at least three (3) unique outfits with what you already own. If you can do this, you can create more. Lastly, whether you’re posting fit pics or just trying to be more stylish, you will suck for a while. It will not be easy to transition and you will be bad at it. But eventually, by sticking with it, it will stick and it will look cool. My last advice is that expensive jeans are not worth it. Big sorry to 3Sixteen, LVC, or whatever, but my $30 levis 505 or 501s via ebay are the best and most interesting jeans i’ve ever worn. submitted by /u/TheUnwashedMasses to r/malefashionadvice [link] [comments]

10KG SAL Haul | 10+ Fit Pics | Text-Style In-Depth Review | 1688 finds | Represent Carpenter Pants/Taco Bell/OnlyFans/Lakers/TNF Denim/Rhude Hawaiian Shirt/Carhartt Cargos/Jordan 1 ROTY/Bone Dunks/Polo Bear + More (PandaBuy)
For those that don't want to read the whole post: HAUL: Rhude Mclaren Shirt is missing because I bought it for someone as a gift Fit Pic Album: Fit Pics Now for those who are interested in the in-depth review: I would appreciate an upvote if this post helped you as it took me many hours to make. If you have any questions leave a comment and I'll gladly help you out. Haul Overview: This Spreadsheet has every item's WTC, weight, and price (with shipping factored in): Haul Overview Package:- Weight: 9360g - Shipping: SAL to Canada, Arrived in 13 days (delivery info), Shipping cost 523 Yuan Stats - Height: 185cm | 6ft 1inch - Weight: 80kg | 175lbs | Muscular/Athletic Build (we go jim) Pants 1688 Represent Carpenter Pants | Size L (TTS) | 175 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 These pants are amazing. I posted a find and GP'd since I thought these were the same as Husky and other batches and I can say the quality is great. They go so well with any fit and feel premium and comfortable. They are made of a semi-stretchy material that helps them fit well, for example, the size L fits me perfectly and I normally wear a 32 in jeans. I would recommend measuring your favourite jeans and then comparing them to the size chart, as that worked perfectly for me. In terms of accuracy to retail, I don't really care, but from what I have looked at online, they look nearly identical. One of my favs from the whole haul. 1688 Cheap Corduroy Pants | Size XL (SIZE UP) | 27 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 7/10 I got these because they are insanely cheap, and for their price, they are actually quite good. They have a nice baggy fit with drawstrings at the bottom that works well, and the material is somewhat soft and comfortable. The waist is really stretchy so I got XL based on the length and can just stretch the waist to fit me. The reason these got 8/10 is that they feel a bit thin/flimsy (would be a great pair of summer pants), but that is to be expected for 27 yuan. Carhart Zipper Cargo Joggers | Size M (TTS) | 158 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 8/10 These are very good quality and at a reasonable price. The material is very comfortable and all of the zippers work great. The reason these are scored 8/10 is that they were one of my first purchases and I didn't follow the size chart and got an M when I should have gotten an L. They still fit, but they are just slightly tight around my thighs. Pretty sure these are fantasy, but idc regardless no one is calling out Carhartt. 1688 Yeezy Season 6 Sweats | Size S (SIZE DOWN) | 100 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 THESE ARE SO SOFT. For 100 yuan on 1688 I thought this was a lower quality batch, but these are extremely thick, soft and with working zippers. I am going to wear these insanely often and their colour is a nice earthy grey that works well with pretty much anything I would want to wear with it. I was worried about ordering a size small since I thought they wouldn't fit, but the size chart didn't lie and S fits me amazingly. In terms of accuracy to retail... They are grey sweatpants that I bought because they were cheap, high quality and had a nice fit, I do not care about accuracy to retail. Shirts Taco Bell Dog Shirt | Size 3XL (SIZE UP) | 49.80 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 Sorry ladies, the Taco Bell shirt stays on in bed. The blank is super thick and following the size chart, I got the oversized fit I wanted. The print doesn't feel cheap and hasn't shown any signs of coming off in the wash. Probably going to wear this everywhere with any fits, it was everything I wanted when I bought it and an easy 10/10. OnlyFans Shirt | Size XL (SIZE UP) | 65 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 Pretty much the exact same as the above shirt, very thick, very cheap, very good quality print. I personally love the design and will be wearing this shirt a ton. 1688 Rhude Hawaiian Shirt | Size L (TTS) | 60 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 9/10 There was no size chart for this shirt so I just went TTS and luckily it worked out. I bought this with the intention of wearing it to parties and during the Summer, and it perfectly meets my expectations for that. The material is quite comfortable and lightweight for the Summer. The only two things that were off about this shirt are that the buttons don't have Rhude branding and the back print is a slightly lighter shade of white than retail, but realistically no one is calling either of those out. Small flaws like that are fine, especially since the shirt was only 60 yuan making it a 9/10 for me. Late Registration Shirt | Size M (SIZE DOWN) | 85 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 There isn't much that I can say about this shirt that hasn't been already said in this sub. I have worn it once and got multiple compliments. It is a comfortable, thick, high-quality print, relatively cheap and overall an amazing shirt. Must add to any haul. Vintage Lakers Championship Shirt | Size 2XL (SIZE UP) | 56.8 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 Another amazing shirt in this haul. Once again an extremely comfortable and thick blank with a high-quality print that hasn't come off in the wash. The only thing that is slightly off about this shirt is some small misspelling on the roster on the back, but no one is realistically calling that out. I would recommend sizing up twice for an oversized fit and getting the regular sizing option not the off-shoulder option, as the shoulders already were dropped since I sized up. 1688 Rhude Mclaren Shirt | Size M (TTS) | 55 Yuan | W2C | QC | NO FITS | 10/10 This shirt I bought as a gift for my brother, so I don't have any fit pics with it, but I can say that the blank felt very thick, the print was good quality and hasn't come off in the wash. For sizing, M is his TTS and it fits perfectly. In terms of accuracy, I looked on grailed at retail, and the logo placements and colours seem pretty solid, the only scenario it might not hold up is if someone has retail right beside it, but that's realistically not happening. 10/10 especially since it was 55 yuan Hat Polo Bear Skiing Hat | One Size | 58 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 The embroidery on this hat is extremely nice, with no loose threads or weird-looking letters or anything. I really like the design with the bear skiing and think the beige goes well with other pieces in this haul. Compared to google images of retail it looks pretty spot on. Overall nothing bad to say, it's just a hat easy 10/10. (Also the metal thing on the back has the correct branding) Hoodies/Jackets TNF Demin Jacket | Size M (SIZE DOWN) | 228 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 9/10 This is extremely heavy and thick. Very high-quality materials and a nice oversized fit (can layer it over a hoodie) even after sizing down. I think this is fantasy but all of the buttons and tags look good with TNF branding, the only flaw is the patch on the arm says THE NCRTH FACE instead of NORTH but it's hardly noticeable and I personally do not care. Scoring it at 9/10 because of that though. Nike Centre Swoosh Hoodie | Size XL (SIZE UP) | 78 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 10/10 Pretty sure this is the super-budget batch of this hoodie but honestly, I can not tell. It is one of the softest hoodies I own, while medium-heavy/warm. The Swoosh is passable and the hoodie fits nicely and is oversized. Don't care about retail because no one is calling out a Nike hoodie. Love this cheap piece 10/10. 1688 Yeezy Season 6 Hoodie | Size M (SIZE DOWN) | 125 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 9/10 Once again probably one of the softest and thickest hoodies I own. I bought this mostly for the cropped and dropped shoulder fit and the hoodie fits perfectly for that. The price is amazing and the hoodie only has one small flaw the colour slightly doesn't match the sweats, but I don't really plan on wearing them together anyways. It's a cheap, well-fitting, comfortable hoodie... 9/10. Shoes DG Batch Jordan 1 ROTYs | Size 44.5 | 270 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 9/10 My mind is blown by the quality of these for around 60CAD. These are extremely nice and compared to retail on google they look very good for the price (Swoosh, shape, wings logo and suede all good). These have one small flaw in that one of the Nike Air tags on the tongue is permanently bent in so it is a 9/10 for that but it is not really noticeable on foot, and if anyone gets that close to my shoes they are catching hands. VT Batch Bone Dunks | Size 44.5 | 199 Yuan | W2C | QC | FITS | IN-HAND | 9/10 Once again I am very impressed with the quality of these for only around 45CAD. They are comfortable and look very close to retail except for maybe the slightly green tongue (making these a 9/10). I am not the best at QCing dunks but the Swoosh, toebox and Nike all look good to me. These are going to become daily beaters so I am not too concerned about small flaws regardless. PandaBuy Review: As someone making their first haul, Pandabuy made things extremely easy for me. I was worried shopping with an agent would be difficult but it really was as simple as pasting the link into Pandabuy and letting the agent do the rest. The individual agents were great (Shoutout Rock Lee) and when I returned items or asked for measurement QC pictures it was always done within a day. QC pics were high quality and when I asked them to stretch out the waist and then measure my pants they understood which was nice. Rehearsal and shipping were done quickly and without any difficulties, which was one of my main concerns as a new user. I would highly recommend Pandabuy for anyone new to reps and I would be willing to help new people out with Pandabuy if you comment or message me. Thank you for reading to the bottom, I tried to make this as in-depth as possible to help anyone looking to buy any of these items. If you have any questions leave a comment and I will reply as soon as I can. One last pro tip - always remember to use the size chart and cold water wash and hang dry your reps submitted by /u/TP_ki to r/FashionReps [link] [comments]

Color Call-Out: Greens
In this post I provide examples and info about various shades of green Carhartt has made throughout the years. This is not an exhaustive list of greens but it includes greens that I wanted to highlight the most. I mainly focused on greens that were used in outerwear as there are many shades that were used exclusively in shirts and accessories. Pre-1997 color codes were one or two numbers at the beginning or end of a style code (ex. "6" indicates "Carhartt Brown" in "6BLJ" and "CQ186"). Color codes after 1997 are three letters (ex. "BRN" = "Carhartt Brown") and some color codes from 2012 and later are three digits or a combinations of letters and numbers (ex. "211" = "Carhartt Brown"; "I26" = "Navy"). For a more complete list of colors and more examples of the how the codes worked, click here. Link to imgur with larger pictures is here. Green / Forest Green / Soft Olive / Soft OD Green - 4, GRN https://preview.redd.it/9z66tjey6tm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8501864fff26b70cfdb64552e24f816d2442dd13 Carhartt introduced the first (non-camo) green in the early 1990s. Its color code was "4", which it shared with "Forest Green", "Soft OD Green" and "Soft Olive." One of the earliest styles available was the JQ264 Firm Duck Flight Jacket in "Forest Green". Styles made in "Green" included the CB104 Firm Duck Chore Coat, JQ2104 Firm Duck Santa Fe Jacket and JR104 Firm Duck Active Jacket. When the codes were simplified in 1997-98, "GRN" became the new code for "Green". Loden - LDN https://preview.redd.it/h5hces15odn81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b54baed899598ccaec536b00daa6e8077311fd1 "Loden" has origins in the early 1990s as a flannel shirt color. It was later reintroduced in the 2000s with the color code "LDN". It was produced in shirts as well as several canvas styles, such as the J169 Hamilton Jacket, B147 Canvas Work Short, B159 Canvas Carpenter Pant. Forest Green - 4, FRT, FTG, 369 https://preview.redd.it/jqe641ir98n81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25580c62b3d7f5a7500259d232055f30ab1dc86f The first version of "Forest Green" was a blue-green color mainly featured in shirts and hoodies in the 90s, such as the SU204 Long-Sleeve Chamois Work Shirt. "Forest Green" shared the "4" color code with "Green" until the codes were changed in 1998 and the two colors were split into their own codes, "GRN" for "Green" and "FRT" for "Forest Green." Later in the 2000s, the second version of "Forest Green" came out and was more of a traditional green than blue. It was produced in many shirt styles, including flannel shirts such as the S250 Long-Sleeve Flannel Plaid Shirt. Hunter Green - 43, HTG https://preview.redd.it/shkuwygnium81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e6acc1c8f3d6bd2278853f60eefc5de203853e6 The vibrant blue-green color called "Hunter Green" was introduced in 1993. It appeared in a variety of Sandstone styles, from Western Jackets and Active Jackets to Cape Coats and Jeans. "Hunter Green" was the longest-running Sandstone color in the 90s, as Shirts, Chore Coats, Hats and Youth styles were added to the list of styles made in it. In 1998, Carhartt changed the "43" code to "HTG" and featured it in a multitude of new Sandstone Duck styles, including the C26 Sandstone Duck Traditional Coat, C08 Sandstone Duck Ranch Coat, C10 Sandstone Duck Mountain Coat, J02 Firm Duck Arctic Traditional Jacket and J43 Sandstone Duck Detroit Jacket. However, at the turn of the millennium, "Hunter Green" fell out of use in outerwear and was relegated to a few shirt and hat styles. Cactus - 58, CTS https://preview.redd.it/qmfwva50dtm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46f4cad6483ee1836b89f2e3607e950e058bb41d "Cactus" was a vibrant green color introduced in 1994. Aptly named, "Cactus" was featured in several styles that were part of the Southwest Collection, such as the JS1158 Firm Duck Western Jacket and JQ0458 Quilted Flannel-Lined Duck Southwest Jacket. "Cactus" was also produced in several unlined styles, such as the CU1058 Unlined Firm Duck Chore Coat, as well as several pants and shorts. "Cactus" went dormant until Carhartt resurrected it in the early 2010s as a shirt color with the code "CTS". Army Green - 33, ARG https://preview.redd.it/9vyuuk7cg0n81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e4005f0fef67c975850f7a7194ca9cab49512f0 "Army Green" first saw use in 1994. The color code was "33" and it was produced in several twill pants and a shirt style for a few years in the 90s before it wasn't seen again until the late 2000s. It reemerged in many Sandstone Duck styles, including the J297 Sandstone Duck Detroit Jacket, J130 Sandstone Duck Active Jacket, and C95 Sandstone Duck Jackson Coat. In somewhat of a throwback to its origins as a twill pant color in the 90s, Carhartt still makes the B324 Washed Twill Carpenter Pant in "Army Green" today. Spruce - 35, SPC https://preview.redd.it/wygfr7hh6um81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa6217bd802291da8b71bb967a514eecd86321ac The first version of "Spruce" was introduced in 1995. Its color resembled the needles of a Blue Spruce tree. Styles produced in "Spruce" included the JQ2035 Firm Duck Santa Fe Jacket and JQ0535 Firm Duck Southwest Jacket. "35" was the color code, which was later assigned to a completely different color, "Rum", in 1997. This blue-green version of "Spruce" only lasted about a year, but "Spruce" was esurrected in the early 2000s as a darker, richer green with the color code "SPC." This new version was available in several Sandstone styles, including the J130 Sandstone Duck Active Jacket, C61 Sandstone Duck Ridge Coat and C02 Sandstone Duck Chore Coat and V02 Sandstone Duck Arctic Vest. Dark Olive - 66, DOL https://preview.redd.it/tpebrkm9utm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53db544366b8d86cdc592bd0f746a3871fae1dac "Dark Olive" was a drab green that first appeared as a Washed Duck color in 1995 with the color code "66." It was available in a the JB1266 Washed Duck Detroit Jacket and PB1166 Washed Duck Parka. The next year "Dark Olive" saw use in several Washed Duck pants and shorts styles as well as hats and shirts. In 1997, "Dark Olive" was produced in even more styles, including the JQ1066 Washed Duck Active Jacket, JS0166 Canvas Plainsman Jacket and JP1066 Washed Duck Chore Jacket. Several shirts and hoodies were also made in "Dark Olive". In 1997, its code was changed to "DOL." "Dark Olive" was not used as much in the twenty-first century as it appeared in select pants and shirts styles. Aspen - 94, ASP https://preview.redd.it/setrc5t2ltm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9701ebf61807294d3656a172a3bae0ee401403a4 "Aspen" was a light green that was introduced as part of the 1997 color line-up with the code "94". "Aspen" was incorporated in many Sandstone styles, including the JB0694 Duck Jean Jacket, JQ2394 Sandstone Duck Santa Fe Jacket and CQ7194 Sandstone Duck Ranch Coat. "Aspen" was also available in Men's and Kids' Active Jackets as well as some hats and shirts. 1997 was the first year that Carhartt began simplifying style and color codes so "Aspen" became "ASP", but it was not seen again after 1997. Evergreen - 91, EVG https://preview.redd.it/khgw5fvw17n81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fe906925cc35a6740e4e8fec6c6e383a0684f64 "Evergreen" was a dark green color introduced in 1997 with the color code "91". It was featured in shirt, shorts and pants styles. The color code was changed to "EVG" and "Evergreen" was available in several styles in Carhartt's rainwear line, including the J162 Waterproof Breathable Shoreline Jacket and C72 Waterproof Breathable Shoreline Coat. Sage - SAG https://preview.redd.it/vn66oic6zvm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41fd450ddeacf358962b997b5aa59781078965ee "Sage" was a muted green color that made its debut in 1998 in several shorts styles, the B30 Canvas Trail Short and the B48 Chino Short. It fell out of use for a few years and wasn't seen again until the early 2000s when it was produced in several Active Jacket styles, such as the J160 Sandstone Duck Active Jacket. It was also used in the soft-shell J105 Workshield Jacket. Moss - MOS https://preview.redd.it/lyvuegmulvm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8838a12910cda41f76a697514450f8c28c8f9f22 One of the most recognizable Carhartt colors, "Moss" is also distinct in that it is the longest-running green and longest-running Sandstone color. Its role was limited to pants in shirts in 1998 but in the following years, "Moss" (color code "MOS") was made available in many Sandstone styles such as the C02 Sandstone Chore Coat, J22 Sandstone Traditional Jacket, J97 Sandstone Detroit Jacket, and more. Its use expanded to overalls, hats, shirts and hoodies as well as Women's and Youth styles. Carhartt continued to produce "Moss"-colored products into the 2010s, such as the J284 Sandstone Duck Multi-Pocket Jacket and J141 Sandstone Duck Sierra Jacket. When Carhartt changed the code format for a second time, "MOS" was given an additional style code, "316." Carhartt continues to produce several styles in "Moss" today, including the 104050 Washed Duck Active Jacket and 104392 Washed Duck Sierra Jacket. Mallard - MLL https://preview.redd.it/kvpbqngrn1n81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13f25b2a9dfbc03ae837a38af8998b838a8a9ed4 "Mallard" is blue-green color that was exclusively used in Carhartt's Workshield Line in the late 90s and early 2000s. The styles available in "Mallard" includes the J73 Workshield Eisenhower Jacket and C42 Workshield Blizzard Coat. Dark Green - DGR https://preview.redd.it/loy9l64lovm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b991498eb24e3ed46d3a29c74220e7671e5d2e31 "Dark Green" is well-named. It had a short run in the early- to mid-2000s and was used in several Firm Duck styles such as the iconic J140 Firm Duck Active Jacket and V01 Firm Duck Arctic Vest as well as the C68 Firm Duck Ridge Coat and J158 Firm Duck Active Jacket. There were also some shirts and hats made in "Dark Green", whose abbreviation was "DGR". Olive - OLV https://preview.redd.it/jlydk7ieuvm81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c2b10ce54cf57c0475588623945d85a71311f24 "Olive" (code "OLV) was first seen in the late 1999s, featured in the T.A.C. 1000 line of Cordura/Nylon outerwear. It was primarily used in soft-shell jackets, shirts, hoodies and beanies as well as canvas pants and shorts, such as the B151 Canvas Carpenter Pant and B144 Canvas Cell Phone Work Short. However, it available in select duck styles such as the rare J129 Detroit Jacket. Dark Moss - DMS https://preview.redd.it/p0n04jid80n81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57e971de891e0363fc235454148397ced966d065 Another 2000s green, "Dark Moss" (abbreviated "DMS") is the darker version of "Moss" and was featured in the J169 Canvas Hamilton Jacket as well several shorts and pants styles, including the B203 Canvas Hamilton Short and B159 Canvas Carpenter Pant. Carhartt continued to make the B159 in "Dark Moss" until last year. Light Olive - LOV https://preview.redd.it/0a3v391xe1n81.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a4f3c0783030aa2c3fe3a90624d5664c604141f "Light Olive" ("LOV") was introduced in the mid 2000s. Flannel/fleece lined pants recommendations
Looking for recommendations on men’s fleece or flannel lined pants that aren’t the super techy hikers. Looking for something that leans more towards workwear for outdoor durability, but isn’t your dickies or carhartt relaxed fit carpenter pants. Also ideally not something that breaks the bank. I haven’t had great success in Google searches. Thanks! submitted by /u/spicy_bois_only to r/ThrowingFits [link] [comments]

Women’s FR jeans with carpenter pockets?
Does anyone what company might sell these? Preferably a brand other than Rasco, not a huge fan of their stuff. I have women’s FR carhartt jeans I wear, I love them and they have deep pockets, but no carpenters pockets for my tools. I have bibs for the winter, but once it warms up again I’ll be shit out of luck. Men’s pants don’t fit quite right and tend to be rather uncomfortable as I have large hips and a very small waist. Any of you ladies have any tips for me? The women’s workwear industry really needs to step up and give us pocket equality. submitted by /u/satanicbob to r/BlueCollarWomen [link] [comments]

Looking for the perfect bib overalls
I like bib overalls for work. I can just wear comfortable shorts to work and throw my bibs on and be ready. However, I have been unable to find the perfect bibs for my needs. I very much need a full zip to thigh bib to be able to put them on over my boots easily. Unfortunately, the only zip to thigh, unlined bibs I have been able to find are the Carhartt R37s . The main problem with these bibs are they are so heavyweight. I'm looking for something lighter weight and preferably not denim. I'd rather something in lightweight ripstop cotton, similar to carpenter pants. But everything I can find is zip to knee and I cannot get my boots out through the opening. So, I'm asking the community here to see if anyone has seen anything like what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for yalls help. submitted by /u/Lagair to r/Workwear [link] [comments]
