After 28 years how are people brushing their teeth?
Obviously the community on Holy Island have to live without a lot of mod-cons but I doubt they would just abandon dental hygiene entirely. Obviously at first I’d assume they would raid toothpaste from houses, farms, hospitals nearby etc but they would only last so long, so is there any way to make seaweed toothpaste or something like that? submitted by /u/PooCube to r/28dayslater [link] [comments]

for context: this is a follow up to a previous post for clarity to my full protocol: https://www.reddit.com/r/badbreath/s/ucMUoJbyWo I fixed the source of my bad breath and cured myself with it. PHASE 1: Disruption + Kill Phase ⏱ Duration: • Oral: 1–3 days • Gut: 1–3 weeks ⸻ ORAL PROTOCOL (1–3 Days) Step 1: Disrupt Biofilms • Interface Plus (open capsule) → Mix powder with a bit of water and gently brush with a soft bristle toothbrush, or gargle. Focus on: ▸ Tongue ▸ Gums ▸ Tonsils Once ALL sludge, mucus, white coatings on your tongue and tonsils are gone, this means the protective biofilm is broken — you’re ready to kill the bacteria underneath. ⸻ Step 2: Kill Exposed Pathogens • Povidone Iodine 0.5% – gentle antiseptic that doesn’t burn raw oral tissue • Oral Syringe – flush deep into tonsil crypts and throat pockets Important Note: As bacteria die, toxins and sulfur gases will be released → your breath may temporarily get worse. This is normal and a sign it’s working. ⸻ ⚠️ Stop usage after 1–3 days or once the tongue/tonsils are visibly clean of mucus/raw. Oral Repopulation Protocol • BLIS K12 + M18 lozenges – 1 in the morning, 1 at night → Let dissolve slowly. These recolonize your: ▸ Tongue ▸ Tonsils ▸ Saliva You’ll see visible improvements quickly. (Restored mucosal lining in your mouth, healing on any damaged tissue, and a thin white coating on the tongue happens overnight) Taste from toxins and die off of the bad bacteria may continue temporarily - This is because these probiotics are very dominant and have a fresh slate to work with. They kill off remaining bad pathogens. ⸻ Continue: • Soft brushing only – your oral lining is healing be very gentle. • TheraBreath Mild Mint rinse – 2x/day • Use oral syringe to flush tonsils directly (now effective since thick biofilms are gone) This kills bad bacteria while being safe for good bacteria. GUT PROTOCOL ⏱ Duration: • Gut: 1–3 weeks along with the oral protocol (can adjust based on your own severity) ⸻ Step 1: Disrupt Biofilms (Gut) • Interface Plus – take 1-2 capsules AM and 1-2 capsules PM on an empty stomach What it’s doing: Interface Plus uses NAC, EDTA, and enzymes to break apart biofilms coating harmful bacteria like H. pylori or SIBO-related organisms. • This exposes deep-rooted infections that are normally antibiotic-resistant • Toxins will be released during this phase (known as a “Herx reaction”) This makes breath worse temporarily ⸻ Kill Exposed Pathogens 30 minutes after taking interface plus • Oil Of Oregano Capsules – take 1 capsule, 30 minutes after Interface Plus • Mastic Gum – take 500–1500 mg, 2x per day, 30 minutes after Interface Plus These two are powerful, natural antimicrobials that: • Kill H. pylori, Candida, SIBO bacteria • Help calm inflammation and support the gut lining specifically for SIBO use Rifaximin or whatever you personally use can be added to your stack ⸻ ⚠️ What to Expect (Die-Off Symptoms) As pathogens die, they will release gross toxins you will be able to feel in your gut. Mostly all gut probiotics I found were transient. They do promote good gut flora though. Sugar free Kefir Is what i'd recommend I mainly recommend to eat clean, added-sugar free and take good fibers. This gives a favorable environment for good bacteria on the clean slate. ⸻ Daily Gut Support (optional): • Chlorophyll (liquid or capsules) – internal deodorizer • Molybdenum (100–500 mcg/day) – helps detox sulfur byproducts and can help with internal toxins during the kill phase ‼️ Whole-food, high-fiber diet – critical for long-term stability Breath Improves to normal during rebuilding phases. How many times use charcoal toothpaste & powder
Hi, first of all sorry for my bad Englisch. So Im 33 years old and a male. And my teeth going a bit to the yellow side.. So I ordered some bamboo charcoal toothpaste and some Activated charcoal powder to whitening my teeth. I never did anything/used something like this and I thought why not. So yesterday i brushed my teeth for the first time with that toothpaste and afterwards I brushed it with the powder. I will do and test it for a bit and will see how it goes. If I notice that they will get whit again or not. If its just a bit, its completly ok. Better then nothing. My question is how many times and how often should I use it? I read something from 2 times a day but only for 2 to 4 weeks and then from something just to every second to thrid day. So what would you suggest? And how to use it? Before i go to bed like i did yesterday? Toothpaste and then directly with the powder afterwards? Or lets say in the morning with my normal toothpaste and in the evening with the bamboos one and with the powder only twice a week or something. And for how long? Stop it after 1 month to give my teeth a break? And I also have some gel with a case to put on your teeth with a light i think. I bought it around 2 years ago but never used it. Maybe can also use this at the weekend or so.. So yea I appreciate every answer. Thanks submitted by /u/Imaginary_Stomach139 to r/Teethcare [link] [comments]

Note: I am a male, new in this, if you have any suggestions about things that can actually help me out to improve my skin quality I would be happy to listen you, now I just use red light therapy and I clean my face in the shower(sometimes). submitted by /u/LifeEnginer to r/SkincareAddicts [link] [comments]

I am aware that this is not the topic of this subreddit but I would like to get also the best charcoal toothpaste possible, do you know it? Thanks. The Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder You've Been Looking For
Hey Reddit! 👋 Let’s talk teeth. Specifically, whitening them. If you’ve ever scrolled through Instagram or TikTok, chances are you’ve seen someone raving about charcoal teeth whitening powder. At first glance, it might seem like another fad, but I’m here to share my honest experience and some facts about why this natural option is gaining traction. What’s the Deal with Charcoal Teeth Whitening? 🦷✨ Activated charcoal has been used for centuries in everything from skincare to detox drinks, but its role in teeth whitening is pretty cool. It’s a natural substance made from heating carbon-rich materials (like coconut shells) to extreme temperatures. This process makes it super porous, giving it a unique ability to “trap” stains and toxins. When used on teeth, activated charcoal can help lift surface stains from coffee, tea, wine, and other culprits. What’s even better? It does all this without harsh chemicals, which is why it’s a go-to for people looking for a natural alternative to traditional whitening products. Why I Tried Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder 🖤 Like many of you, I’ve tried my share of whitening strips and gels. While some worked, they often left my teeth feeling sensitive and my gums irritated. Plus, I couldn’t ignore the artificial ingredients. So, I went down the natural route and stumbled upon the Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder made from natural coconut charcoal. What caught my eye: Natural Ingredients: It’s made from coconut charcoal, which feels a lot better than brushing with a cocktail of unpronounceable chemicals. Safe for Gums and Enamel: I’m protective of my enamel (because, let’s be real, once it’s gone, it’s gone), so the promise of a non-abrasive formula sealed the deal. Multi-Purpose: It works as both a teeth stain remover and a toothpaste alternative, which is a win for anyone trying to simplify their oral care routine. First Impressions of Charcoal Whitening Powder Let me set the scene: I opened the little jar of charcoal powder and was immediately struck by how fine the powder is. No clumps, no weird smells—just ultra-fine black powder ready to work its magic. Using it is simple: Wet your toothbrush. Dip it into the powder (a little goes a long way). Brush gently for 1-2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Pro tip: Do this over the sink because, yes, it can get a bit messy. But it’s nothing a quick rinse won’t fix. Does It Actually Work? Here’s where things get interesting. After my first use, I didn’t see dramatic results (which is normal—no product will give you a movie-star smile overnight). But what I did notice was how clean my teeth felt. It’s like the charcoal gives you that “just left the dentist” kind of clean. By week two, I started noticing a difference. My teeth looked brighter, and those annoying coffee stains on my front teeth were fading. The powder doesn’t bleach your teeth like chemical whiteners, but it lifts surface stains naturally, which is perfect if you’re aiming for a gradual, natural-looking improvement. Things I Loved About This Product Gentle on Teeth: Unlike some charcoal products that feel gritty, this one is ultra-fine and gentle. No Weird Aftertaste: You’d think brushing with charcoal might taste like licking a BBQ grill, but nope! It’s surprisingly neutral. Cost-Effective: A single jar lasts forever. Okay, maybe not forever, but long enough to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. Things to Keep in Mind While I’m a big fan, there are a couple of things worth noting: It’s Not Magic: If your teeth are naturally darker or have deep stains, this might not be a miracle solution. It works best on surface stains. It’s Black Powder: If you’re clumsy like me, you might end up with black splatters on your sink. Just clean it up right away, and you’re good. Why You Should Give It a Go If you’re curious about natural oral care or tired of harsh whitening products, this Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder is worth a try. It’s safe, effective, and fits seamlessly into your routine. Plus, it’s fun. Seriously, there’s something satisfying about brushing with black powder and revealing a brighter smile afterward. FAQs About Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder #1. Will it make my teeth completely white? It’s great for removing surface stains and brightening your smile, but it won’t change the natural shade of your teeth like professional whitening. #2. Can I use it every day? Most people use it 2-3 times a week to avoid overdoing it. Even though it’s gentle, moderation is key. #3. Is it safe for kids? While it’s non-toxic, always check with a dentist before introducing new products to children. Final Thoughts 🖤 I’m officially a fan of charcoal teeth whitening powder. It’s an easy, affordable way to freshen up your smile without exposing your teeth to harsh chemicals. If you’re on the fence, give it a shot and let me know what you think. You can grab the one I’ve been using here: Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder. Have you tried charcoal for teeth whitening? I’d love to hear your experiences (or answer any questions) in the comments! Let’s keep the conversation going. 😊 submitted by /u/Creative-Ad-9240 to r/dentalmaterials [link] [comments]

Candida HEALED! My Story
I wanted to document my candida journey and recovery so that others might be educated and gain some hope. After 9 months of treatment I have defeated candida. This is my story. One day i woke up with a fuzzy white patch on my tongue. The walk-in clinic indicated it was oral thrush. I am a 33yr old male, in-shape, and follow a healthy diet. I still do not know the original cause of my thrush. At this time I was seeing a gastroenterologist for gut issues (indigestion, loose stools, nausea, fatigue). I requested a colonoscopy & endoscopy to address these issues, and I also requested to test for candida. The endoscopy biopsy tested positive for candida in my esophagus. Everything else with the colonoscopy / endoscopy was fine. The gastroenterologist prescribed me a 20 day course of oral fluconaozole. This was my first time taking anti-fungals. When I started the fluconazole, I also started a strict candida keto diet. After 20 days, the thrush mostly cleared up. I did not have die-off from fluconazole. After the fluconazole, I introduced some carbs back into my diet and thrush immediately flared up. I went to my dentist and he gave me liquid oral Nystatin. I swished and swallowed 5x per day. After 4 days of Nystatin, I had the WORST die off of my life. I was in excruciating pain and could barely function for an entire day when symptoms were at their worst. I did not have any binders to help with the die off. I called my dentist he told me to stop Nystatin immediately. I was frustrated because there was no way I could function and hold down my job with die off symptoms. At this point I was frustrated with the lack of help from my primary care doctor and gastroenterologist and I needed a different approach, so I researched functional medicine doctors in my area. I found an amazing functional medicine doctor, and once I began his protocols, it changed my life. This is where my healing really began. I took 2 tests: GI-MAP stool test and Mycotoxin urine test. The stool test was negative for candida, indicating I did not have SIFO. However, I had elevated Zonulin at 238 ng/g, so I probably had leaky gut. The mycotoxin test had highly elevated levels of Ochratoxin A (OTA) at 18.62 ng/g creatinine. To rule out the possibility of toxic mold exposure, I tested every room in my house and my gym locker room, and everything was negative for mold. This indicated the fungal infection was likely related to my immune system and/or diet and not from environmental mold exposure. My functional medicine doctor put me on a 30 day course of: - Biocidin 4 pills/day, split in 2 doses - GI Detox+ : 2 pills at night. This is a binder with activated charcoal and zeolite clay - L-glutamine powder - Inflavanoid IC by Metagenics - Acute Care probiotic by Glutagenics (this is primarily S. Boulardii) - Dentalcidin toothpaste I repeated the same protocol for another 60 days. I had a few days of die off, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as Nystatin. This protocol was more gradual and gentle. After 90 days, my thrush was 100% cleared up, I felt and looked amazing from the candida keto diet, I no longer had gut issues like indigestion, loose stools, nausea and fatigue. At this point, my doctor advised me to introduce complex carbs back into my diet. I had 1/2 cup quinoa per day for 3 days and THRUSH CAME ROARING BACK! I was quite demoralized. How could I be in the best shape of my life, feel and look amazing, but one little cup of quinoa makes my thrush break out? How could candida be so persistent? My next step was seeing an ENT doctor. He scoped nasal passage and throat and did not see any visible thrush, but there was still a little on my tongue. He asked me about my dental hygiene, specifically if I used a tongue scraper. I said Yes, I have been using a tongue scraper religiously 3x per day for the past 9 months since my thrush appeared. I also use an anti-microbial toothpaste Dentalcidin 3x per day. He told me to STOP tongue scraping and STOP using anti-microbial toothpaste. The natural protective barrier on my tongue had been destroyed and needed to heal. He put me on a dental chewable probiotic 2x per day. After 30 days of dental probiotic, no tongue scraping, and no Dentalcidin, my thrush is 100% gone and I CAN LITERALLY EAT MASHED POTATOES AND DRINK BEER WITH ZERO OUTBREAK!! I healed in time for Thanksgiving, and I enjoyed the full spread of carb-heavy Thanksgiving food! I understand everyone’s journey with candida is different, but please take note of my experience. There is hope for recovery but you need to be disciplined with the diet and supplement protocol. Seek a holistic or functional medicine doctor. They can be pricy and do not accept insurance, but a good one is worth every penny. I spent many hours doomscrolling this subreddit, and at times felt utterly hopeless that I would ever defeat candida. I hope you got some value out of reading my story. Please don’t lose hope. Defeating candida is possible. submitted by /u/Bok_Choy_1337 to r/Candida [link] [comments]

Stockpiling helps. but you never no how long trouble will last, so locate near renewable food sources. Living near a well with a manual pump is like being in Eden. After awhile, even gold can lose its luster. But there is no luxury in war quite like toilet paper. Its surplus value is greater than gold's. If you had to go without one utility, lose electricity - it's the easiest to do without (unless you're in a very nice climate with no need for heat.) Canned foods are awesome, especially if their contents are tasty without heating. One of the best things to stockpile is canned gravy - it makes a lot of the dry unappetizing things you find to eat in war somewhat edible. Only needs enough heat to "warm", not to cook. It's cheap too, especially if you buy it in bulk. Bring some books - escapist ones like romance or mysteries become more valuable as the war continues. Sure, it's great to have a lot of survival guides, but you'll figure most of that out on your own anyway - trust me, you'll have a lot of time on your hands. The feeling that you're human can fade pretty fast. I can't tell you how many people I knew who would have traded a much needed meal for just a little bit of toothpaste, rouge, soap or cologne. Not much point in fighting if you have to lose your humanity. These things are morale-builders like nothing else. Activated charcoal toothpaste for ferrets?
I've read various websites and Reddit posts saying that most ingredients in cat toothpastes are bad for ferrets. So I was thinking of using activated charcoal in a paste form as a toothpaste for my kibble-fed ferret. I understand that a raw diet is best for ferrets but unfortunately mine has been on a kibble diet. His front canines look like there has been some tartar or plaque build up so I wanted to try brushing. So is activated charcoal by itself a good option? Thank you for your advice! I'd probably try mixing something like this with water or Vaseline and salmon oil: https://www.amazon.com/Activated-Charcoal-Powder-Bulk-Detoxification/dp/B08JKJPGCV/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=15EMJ4BWWYE8F&keywords=activated+charcoal+paste&qid=1664129611&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjY0IiwicXNhIjoiMy4xMyIsInFzcCI6IjMuMDQifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=activated+charcoal+paste%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-5 submitted by /u/R881US2LL2 to r/ferrets [link] [comments]

LPT: If you’re fasting but feel self conscious about the way your breath smells, try swishing some charcoal toothpaste and water in your mouth right before you meet someone/go out.
Fasting for religious or medical reasons can leave your breath smelling strongly and it can be a source of insecurity for many. Although it won’t last forever, charcoal-based oral health products tend to leave your breath fresh for longer than your average toothpaste or mouthwash. You can use a charcoal toothpaste/mouthwash or you can open a capsule of charcoal powder and mix it with some water and swish it around your mouth. Note: do not ingest charcoal if you take medications as it can reduce their effectiveness and be aware that it easily stains clothes. submitted by /u/sneezingbees to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

Are charcoal products okay for your teeth? A hygienist's study notes on charcoal
I'm a hygienist and I get a ton of questions from my patients about charcoal in their oral care products. Is it safe? Is it like brushing my teeth with a briquette? Does it really whiten teeth? What the heck IS it anyway? I did a little research and thought I'd share my findings. CAVEAT: I have done some preliminary research but not done a full scientific deep-dive. I've learned enough and feel comfortable sharing these findings with you, esp since you had questions on charcoal from my previous post. Please comment, ask questions, and share any other resources you have on the topic! First off, what the heck IS activated charcoal? If you see "charcoal" in your toothpaste, toothbrush, and other oral hygiene products, it's the same stuff that's in your Brita water filter. It's a form of carbon that's been treated so that it is more porous. Why? All those contours act like traps and absorb other particles that are washed away when the charcoal is washed off. That's how it works in your water filter. Is it safe to use it in my mouth? This 2020 study from Brazil (the mecca of cosmetic surgery) says the following: "The use of activated charcoal-based product, claimed as a natural whitener, before brushing with toothpastes is not only ineffective to change the color of teeth, but also it might result in alterations on the enamel surface. Whitening with carbamide peroxide (the ingredient used in some whitening gels that you use with whitening trays) instead, was effective during the same period of treatment, which still represents a more appropriate technique to whiten teeth." Translation - in this study they found it could make things worse. Plus charcoal can get caught in fillings, in the gum line, and other crevices in the mouth and cause irritation. What about whitening? Welp, here's another 2020 study that literally says, "Charcoal based-powders are not effective for dental bleaching." So ... seems like no. Frankly toothpastes, rinses, or other rinse-away products aren't great for whitening teeth. I'm not aware of any products that are leave-on charcoal based products. The TL;DR: charcoal seems to mostly be a fad that doesn't lead to healthier, whiter teeth. Subject to change with more research, obviously 😃 submitted by /u/nerRDHy to r/TheGirlSurvivalGuide [link] [comments]

Are you afraid of charcoal toothpaste?

Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder
I thought the powder was all a lie and scam to be honest so I went to prove my theory right. And I got slammed by the hard truth that it does actually make your teeth whiter by simply substituting the toothpaste for the charcoal teeth whitening powder, I saw results on the first couple days and they’ve never been this white. Im thinking of buying an activated charcoal powder for brushing my teeth. Are there any better natural but good for the teeth toothpastes or is charcoal good enough? How do I use charcoal and everything I need to know. Can somebody tell me? Thanks submitted by /u/PitogyroOlikis to r/NaturalBeauty [link] [comments]

What’s your take on charcoal powder “toothpaste”?
I bought some about a year ago and I wasn’t satisfied from it. I’ve been seeing a lot of ads from “Blkdiamond” and was wondering if anyone used it and saw results. submitted by /u/dawnpatroler to r/DentalHygiene [link] [comments]

IsItBullshit: those charcoal toothpaste and powders that are supposed to whiten your teeth
I see a lot of crazy trends when it comes to beauty and especially with teeth. My wife has just gone and spent £30 on a bunch of charcoal stuff for her teeth that she reckons will whiten her teeth and clean stains. submitted by /u/CFClarke7 to r/IsItBullshit [link] [comments]
