I guess I missed the news that Trump’s White House ballroom would now be taxpayer funded to the tune of $1B. When did Trump announce that? With regard to the CEOs who accompanied Trump to China, I wonder why he picked #3 in bank holdings (Citi) and #5 (Goldman Sachs) and passed over easily #1 (JPMorgan Chase) or #2 (BoA). Anyone follow the politics closely enough to have an educated opinion?

Getting rid of Chase. What checking/savings account are you using?
I’ve had a Chase checking account since residency that I’ve kept mostly out of laziness since changing all of my automatic payments is a pain. I just recently ran out of checks and went to the bank to get more and was treated pretty poorly making me wonder why I bother with them. The bulk of my savings/emergency fund is in my money market but I keep a 20 grand “slush” fund in my Chase savings account that’s earning nothing. I’m W2 so I get a biweekly direct deposits plus bonuses. I’m looking to swap banks for checking/savings. I need Zelle but otherwise don’t really have any requirements and no need for a physical bank. What are you guys using/recommend? My quick research is pointing to Sofi as my best bet. submitted by /u/aaron1860 to r/whitecoatinvestor [link] [comments]

Why does it seem like everyone uses Chase Bank?
I never understood this. When it was time for me to get a bank account I just chose a random bank. It was between 5/3, US Bank, and PNC. I went with US Bank. The last time I went to a Chase Bank was with my sister as she had a Chase account. It was packed and there was like a solid 20 minute wait time. Whenever I see the drive through there is a good wait time. Like why does everyone seemingly use this bank? I asked a co-worker why he went with Chase and he doesn't know. It always baffled me why people go through a chase ATM at like midnight waiting in a line. submitted by /u/Zilwaukee to r/stupidquestions [link] [comments]

Chase has severed their relationship with me over a check
I (18f) was awarded a scholarship not long ago. I was given a check for 2.5k. I finally decided to cash it via the Chase app, but I didn’t take the front and back pictures correctly since I had never cashed a check before and my parents weren’t around. I’ll try to explain what happened: The check was a part of a folded piece of paper. Think of it as a birthday card. When Chase asked me to take a picture of the front of the check, I took a picture of what would be the front of the card. When it asked for the back of the check, instead of taking a picture of what would be the inside of the card, I took a picture of the back of the card which just stated the name of the scholarship and the amount. Needless to say, Chase really hated this. I was reasonably locked out of my account and Zelle the day after over what I assume is fraud. I called and they said the reason for why they cut ties with me was confidential. When I went to the bank, a chase bank associate called and she was given the same vague answer even though she had the check right next to her as proof that it was just an accident. Even she was confused as to why Chase escalated the situation so far. She recognized that it was an honest mistakes, but the higher-ups didn’t budge. Overall, is there a way to appeal this? It still says that my account is only locked. I was thinking of of going to the Chase Tower in Chicago, but I'm not sure that will do anything. I didn't mean to do it wrong, I just didn't have anyone there to help me with it. Will I even get the 2.5k back? I genuinely need it for college. :( Edit: I swear I earned that scholarship and many others for a reason, I definitely am relatively smart. With that, I seem to be dumb when it comes to banks and checks. I apologize if I don’t know simple concepts and strategies related to banking and money. submitted by /u/BriefComputer8669 to r/Chase [link] [comments]

Is anyone still using Chase as their main bank?
I used Chase as my main bank for everything while they had 1% cashback on everything and good savings rates. Now that’s mostly over, my account is sat empty. I do like Chase as a bank and think the app is decent enough, prefer the numberless card and never had a decline or issue, but they offer nothing now over any other bank. They don’t have overdrafts, loans or cash pay in yet either. Is anyone still using Chase as their main bank or have you all moved elsewhere? submitted by /u/Trixerl to r/chaseuk [link] [comments]

Do not use Chase bank.
Chase bank states that they are required by Federal Law to verify a picture ID is you want to deposit $8.18 in cash into your account. If they know you then they not not have to check ID. It can't be both ways. If the Federal law states that they have to check ID then they would be required to check on any cash deposit. The federal laws do not change if "they know you" My local branch in Alexandria La is creating new "Policies" as they go and lying to bank customers while they do it. Beware, do not bank with Chase bank. STAY AWAY....... submitted by /u/Buddymc to r/Chase [link] [comments]

After getting into 3 FAANGs and 2 Unicorn startups, I realized chasing $$$ was dumb. I've now been working at a bank for 1 year and here is my update.
Bullet points since we all have ADHD: Money was nice but it's all just way too fucking stressful. I work to live, not live to work. I worked at Amazon (1.5 years), Meta (2 years) and Google (1 year) for the FAANGs. Every single one was toxic as fuck and required me to work 60+ hours per week. Google was the better one, but I was still pulling all nighters and very stressed. I switched teams multiple times, but they were all very stressful and toxic. Coworkers looking to backstab you everywhere you go and VERY tight deadlines set by managers who are breathing down your neck and watching your every move. I was constantly thinking about work 24/7, even on weekends and "vacations". The 2 startups were even more stressful. I think I was working almost 80 hours a week at one of them. That's what led me to complete burnout and I ended up taking 3 months completely off after I quit. Overall, I ended up losing relationships, damaging my family, and gaining lots of weight. My mental and physical health were extremely poor. After quitting the last startup, taking a 3 month break, I started to look into more stable industries with good work life balance. I saw the usual answers (banking, insurance, medicine, finance).. basically non-tech companies. I spent only 1 month applying to these types of companies, and managed to get a job at a big bank in my country. The interviews for these types of companies were mostly behavioural, no LeetCode at all. I have been at the bank now for 1 year.. and wow. I work ~30 hours a week, very stress free and my coworkers have become my good friends. I started working out again, found an amazing girlfriend and have mostly repaired my other relationships. I am now at a healthy weight and wake up feeling happy and grateful every single day. I took a big TC hit, it went down by about 40%. This was pretty much the only downside. I realized that this hamster wheel of grinding LeetCode -> Joining prestigious, high paying companies -> burning out -> repeat, is just not worth it for me. I should have switched earlier honestly. I still recommend everyone try to join a FAANG to get the name on your resume as it will help, but you really need to ask yourself if it is worth staying. For some it is, for me it was not. submitted by /u/Nice-Internal-4645 to r/leetcode [link] [comments]

Chase ATM ate $4,200 and bank is refusing to reimburse me. What should I do?
I deposited a total amount of $4,200 at my local Chase ATM, it begin to restart when I put the money in. The screen turned black and told me ATM was not working. It did not spit out a receipt. I went into my Chase app and saw no deposit made. I began freaking out and attempted to contact customer care but their “offices” were closed! I filed a claim with my local branch and they told me they would investigate and it would take a couple of days. A day later they closed my case and told me they found no overage in the ATM. I feel like I’m running out of options and am extremely stressed. Anyone please help with advice!! {Update} I finally got my money back!!!!!!!! I just received them today. After two weeks of fighting I finally received the full amount of $4,200. Thank you to everyone who assisted me in this matter I really do appreciate you all. Will leave this up just in case anyone has a similar experience and would like some guidance. Best steps to take, create a claim with your local branch, if that doesn’t go anywhere, draft a claim with both the FDIC and the CFPB, this will get the bank moving with your claims and take you more serious. If possible create a police report, I know every city/town is different here in the USA, each department will advise you on whether they can or can’t assist you. If all fails with all of these options, seeks out a civil rights attorney. I know it sounds scaring and intimidating, but a lot of civil attorneys offer free consultations. The faster and sooner you do all of these, the better. But please do take baby steps or else you will stress and burn yourself out. If my advice is not enough, look through the comments and see if any other suggestions would better suit your needs!! Also to those who would think I would attempt to defraud my OWN bank are silly. I might’ve been dumb enough to deposit that quantity into a ATM but never dumb enough to defraud a multi billionaire company and possibly have the feds involved. Case closed! submitted by /u/wookieei to r/Chase [link] [comments]

JP Morgan Chase has closed down the bank account of Uniswap's founder. He says it's simply for working in crypto.
JP Morgan has closed down the bank account of Uniswap's founder Hayden Adams, a software engineer and tech entrepreneur. He says not only him, but many others have been targeted just because they work in crypto. This is an abusive display of power. Uniswap is a multi-billion market cap trading platform that does revenue comparable with the likes of Robinhood. Banks shutting down accounts of individuals just because they work in what could be perceived as a competitor industry should never be tolerated. submitted by /u/Set1Less to r/CryptoCurrency [link] [comments]
