Ich wohne in NRW und insofern sollte das durch den Support passieren. Ich hatte auch den Link von Vodafone genutzt um die Fritzbox mit dem neuen Vertrag zu verknüpfen und auch eine Erfolgsmeldung erhalten. Allerdings seitdem die Internetausfälle. Laut ChatGTP könnte es an einem hängen geblieben Prozess liegen der noch mal neu angestoßen werden muss.

Long story short, I'm going through a bit of grief and learning new skills to help me with it. Cooking is something my mom did a lot, but I was completely uninterested all my life, but for some reason I kind of wanted to cook last week. Had no idea how to, so I told chatgpt a prompt "Make it look social media worthy." then let it know what my idea was and we worked around the ingredients. I was able to get a really good step by step... and damn. Not because I cooked it, but remember the first bite I took and my eyes went up to the sky. Today, cooked something different again but this time for neighbors... and they were like "this is insane, wait you ... cook like this? How!" Honestly, it's an amazing tool. I'm loving, like loving to cook now and its pretty cool just creating the plates with prompts. As a working professional it feels like I'm susbsidising adobe's fun little venture into AI so that they can try to hold onto a changing market share by their fingernails, while they simultaneously devalue editing as paid work and erasing those jobs. This is what I've been working on for the past few months. Only showing here the migrations that are complete. Still working on some others: Google Home -> Home Assistant WhatsApp / Facebook -> ??? Youtube -> ??? Kiwico -> ??? As a quick summary, i have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the alternatives. I've very rarely felt that I was sacrificing quality or features in the name of switching from the big US companies. However usually the initial setup of the new services, to get them going how I want, is indeed a bit time consuming. The most difficult switch was not from Windows to Linux, as I was initially expecting. It was actually the switch to no longer rely on Amazon for all things related to ebooks or audiobooks. It was really difficult to find alternatives that could cover all the books available on Amazon/Audible & in the end I had to use multiple such services to compensate. And special mention to all services with a social component, like WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Maps, Waze. It started when my internet died during a Zoom meeting. I was presenting quarterly reports and suddenly - frozen screen. Panic mode. I clicked on the WiFi icon on my laptop and saw all these networks. "PrettyFlyForAWiFi" - no lock symbol next to it. I clicked it, and it connected right away. I figured anyone who names their WiFi that has to be pretty chill. The meeting went fine. I meant to call my provider that afternoon, but then I forgot. And their internet was actually faster than mine ever was - YouTube videos started instantly, no buffering wheel. My old connection always had that annoying delay. Weeks went by. Then months. Every morning my laptop just connected automatically. I'd see that network name and smile - whoever this neighbor was, they had good taste in puns. Last week I was checking my phone at the coffee shop when I noticed the WiFi list. PrettyFlyForAWiFi was gone. Instead: "OhaiCoffeeCat99." I nearly dropped my latte. CoffeeCat99. That's what I use on some games, chats and so on. My stomach did this weird thing. How could they possibly know that was me? I don't understand any of this computer stuff, but can WiFi track who you are? Can they see my screen? Oh god, can they see which apartment the signal goes to? The worst part is they're clearly still offering it. "Ohai" - like "oh hi" - specifically to CoffeeCat99. Which means they know it's me and they're... fine with it? But also means they've been able to see... what exactly? I don't even know which neighbor it is. Could be anyone in the building - the signal's strong enough from multiple floors. I called my internet company that same day. Turns out my service had never been cancelled, just some wire issue they "forgot" to fix. It's working again now, but every time I open my laptop I see "OhaiCoffeeCat99" in the network list. Yesterday I left nice coffee beans outside every door on my floor with sticky notes: "From a grateful neighbor :)" If they figured out I'm CoffeeCat99, they'll probably figure out the coffee is from me. If not, at least everyone gets free coffee. I still have no idea how they knew. Part of me wants to Google it, but honestly? They could have just turned on a password anytime in those six months. I just experimented with ChatGTP to make a cover letter and it is so well done! I could send this off without changing much to it. It is so well-written and makes life much easier. I did it in 2 steps: In the command prompt write: Write a cover letter based on the following job ad This will generate a generic cover letter that includes all the keywords Now write: Update coverletter with my CV . This will insert parts of your experience but again in a very well-written way.
