I built a mobile app to track your nail polish collection & see dupes: LacquerStash
tl;dr - "LacquerStash" on AppStore / Google Play (I posted about this earlier on r/WeGotPolishAtHome and improved the app in this week's app update based on the feedback received, so it's now ready for its debut on this sub!) The screenshots on the AppStore/Google Play listings can clearly describe what the app has to offer but if any of the following resonates with you, I'm sure it'll be worth trying out LacquerStash: - "I don't know if or when I ever wore this polish" - “I have no easy way to keep notes on my collection” - "The tracking app I use already lacks a lot of features" - "I don't know how much money I'm spending on nail polish" - "Google Sheet isn't mobile friendly and it's hard to store pictures there" - “I sometimes buy dupes by mistake since I don't remember everything I own” - "Notion / Airtable are too complicated for me and don't have a db of all polishes" This app has been beta tested over 2 months by 50 members of this sub, with their feedback being continually implemented, so this is truly an app for Lacqueristas. That said, there's still a lot more that can and will be done, but based on the feedback received so far, I am confident about the value this app will provide to the community and proud of the work we’ve done together. Thoughts you might have at this point: "I'm not going to manually enter my collection of 100s of polishes!" And you don't have to! There's an "Import Your Stash" option in the app. All you need is a list of all your polishes (CSV, Google Sheet, etc.). "Is it free?" Yes. Though two features will get capped at a generous limit which is hopefully enough for you to decide if the app is worth your time or not. You can pay to remove those limits. (Also: No ads, even on the free tier!) "How is this different from Lacquergram?" Lacquergram is a great app! Its nail polish database, built over 7 years, is unmatched. You'll find every brand on earth there. I believe it's centered more around discovering new polishes and seeing swatches from others. LacquerStash is centered around YOU. Your collection, your manis, your usage and purchase history, your dupes. You also have access to a public database with 100 of the most popular brands (currently 17,000+ polishes, with more being added regularly), and you can still find inspiration via 'community manis'. Plus, there's a unique destash feature which I think you'll like a lot! I'm super open to feedback: I promise you'll be surprised by how quickly your feedback is addressed and how soon it gets shipped in future app updates! I'm so excited to see how this helps you all! :D iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lacquerstash/id6755608663 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rohantaneja.lacquerstash submitted by /u/tanejarohan to r/RedditLaqueristas [link] [comments]

Nail polish tracker 3D printing files: 3-9 spots per month, border or no border!
3D printing files have been uploaded to maker world! 2026 Nail polish tracker - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld Files currently available anywhere from 3 to 9 swatch spots per month, and with borders or no border A few things you may want to know: I print the swatch cylinders in white (PLA), clear would be fine but will need more polish layers to be opaque The "swatch painting holder" is what I stick the swatches in to be able to hold them and paint them more easily. I like how it looks to paint the sides as well as the top. Then I remove them when they are dry and stick them into the board. You should print only a cylinder or two to start so you can adjust the size before you print a bunch! I intended to design this so the swatches would snap into the board and wouldn't fall out. Last year some of my swatches were too small, so I just used super glue or a dab of topcoat in the bottom of the hole to secure those. The swatch file I uploaded is a tiny bit bigger than the one I printed last year, but I expect they will turn out slightly differently for everyone! How they fit may also depend on which side of the swatch you plan to paint - I painted the top, and the bottom often had a little lip that helped them stay in. If you want the swatch to be even height with the borders/text, don't adjust the height dimension. If a swatch is stuck in the board that I want removed, I just use a wire cutter or something similar to pull it out (something sharp will crush and grab on to it easier so you can pull it out) Speaking of which side you paint on, u/shayter had the idea to sand them or apply a builder gel layer if you prefer a smoother surface! I printed the new 6 spots with borders using transparent PETG base and transparent blue PETG letters, it printed well but the letters didn't have as much contrast as I wanted! I tried painting the letters with nail polish to make them pop a little more! All that is to say, it's definitely an option to print the text and borders in white and then paint them :) In 2025 I printed my base in clear PETG and the borders/text in PLA without changing print settings between (edit: thanks to the folks in the comments who told me PETG and PLA don't work well together!). Eventually the borders started to delaminate from the base, but none of the text delaminated. So, I'm not sure if the delam was due to the settings/materials or the how thin the borders were. I made the borders thicker on the 2026 design (1 mm increased to 1.5 mm) I've included a "no swatch cylinder" which is what I put in the board when I had empty spaces. Or, whatever size you end up printing your swatches, just decrease their height by 2 mm for the no-swatch version. I think that's all you need to know, I hope it works for you!!! I'm happy to answer questions and make changes if there are any issues or if someone needs even more spots ;) submitted by /u/greatblueheron_ to r/RedditLaqueristas [link] [comments]

Seche Base is terrible
As we all know, the nails and polish world is addicting- I had been doing press ons and the damage it was doing to my natural nails was too much- my nailbeds are too long for the short ones blah blah. So now I still need my nails done and I refuse to pay salon prices. 😂 So now I’m collecting these gorgeous polishes and my ratchet nail beds can’t let them be PERFECT. I haven’t found my HG base coat yet, but let me just say I want to throw Seche base IN THE TRASH. The solid white color can really affect a polish finished appearance, it is absolutely a liar about filling ridges, the application is streaky AF, and it peels like a MFer. Currently I’m using Mooncat’s base but I want to try a tinted Londontown next. TLDR, please do not waste your polish dollars on Seche Base ridge filling base coat. Should I put clear nail polish on my ring?
I made a post 2 months ago about my pandora ring causing issues and wondered if it was an allergy or irritation. I had the ring professionally cleaned and they were pretty positive I was just having a reaction from getting water/soap trapped underneath. I let my finger heal for an entire month and decided to put my ring back on. 24 hours later this happens. I just don’t understand what’s going on. I didn’t wash/shower with my ring on, I wasn’t wearing lotion and it’s also not tight, it slips off without much effort. Does anyone think it’s worth using clear nail polish on the ring to create a barrier? Or should I just retire the ring? According to google their rings are all sterling silver but MIGHT contain mixed metals? I’ve had this ring for almost 3 years with no prior issues. submitted by /u/Kooky_Ad593 to r/jewelry [link] [comments]

I bought this vintage Revlon nail polish display in my local antique store today. They sure liked red or reddish polishes back then!

Anyone ever wear just clear polish?
I recently realized I really like the look of clear nail polish on bare nails. I like to do little home manicures in front of the tv at night sometimes, but I don’t usually paint my finger nails (my nail polishes are used on my toes) because I have a hard time growing my nails longer than my fingertips and I feel tacky wearing nail polish on my natural nails amongst all the pretty girlies with their lovely long acrylic/etc nails. I can’t afford to get my nails done very often sadly. My solution has been to make my natural hands look as awesome and healthy as I can. I realized clear polish with a clear top coat looks really nice and natural on exfoliated, moisturized, manicured hands. At least I thought so. But my coworker poked fun at me and said no one wears clear polish and it’s kinda weird 😅 am I alone in this? Any other tips to get a nice healthy natural look? Or to grow fine brittle nails stronger and longer? ❤️ submitted by /u/Rutabecka to r/Nailpolish [link] [comments]

I had a red nail polish I really wanted to try, but simply could not because of today. My partner said, “Who cares?” All of these blue manis make me feel vindicated!
Nail polish really expresses who I am and how I’m feeling. I’m glad to be amongst others who clearly feel the same. submitted by /u/ChihuahuaBeech to r/RedditLaqueristas [link] [comments]

Looking for minimalist/clear nail polish suggestions
Im a male in college, and I let my sister do my nails a couple times and I really like the way they feel. Im looking for a good clear nail polish I can use maybe once a week or so, trying to be minimalist/lowkey. Doesn’t have to be exclusively clear. Also any suggestions for nail care? cuco nail polish is life
Got Bareable for ₱109 lang during 7.7 and I’m so happy I found my perfect nude! The other drugstore nail polish brands I’ve tried always seem to ashy for my skintone. But Cuco hits just right 😭 Also tried chiffon last week, and I like the milky effect! Though it took me three coats to achieve this. Maybe I should layer another sheer color first as base? Currently own Strawberry Softie, Sheerness, and Bareable. Looking to collect more next month! 1-2 per month lang kasi medyo magastos talaga haha pero super worth it imo. I use Sassy base and gel topper pala to make them last longer. I also do wanna buy the clear topper from Cuco, kaso nanghihinayang ako kasi I could just get another shade for the same price. But maybe next time! submitted by /u/cakebytheocean50 to r/beautytalkph [link] [comments]

Best clear coat for natural nails?
I’ve been on a natural nail journey for the past ~7 months and I am really loving the look of shiny, strong nails. I’m wondering if any of you have recommendations on top coats that stay shiny and protect your nails well, or any other advice! submitted by /u/badass-pixie to r/Nails [link] [comments]

Help! Why does my nail polish pop off in one whole piece?
I've had this problem for awhile. My nail polish will pop -- not peel -- off in one whole piece. They look like little fake press-ons. I scrub with remover before to remove oils, residue, etc. I press and trim my cuticles. I've used base coat. Not used base coat. I've tried different top coats, clear coats under and over, strengthening polishes, etc. under the color, and this almost always happens. It happens with different brands of color. And good brands, too. It never happens on my thumbs, just the four fingers on both hands. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how to prevent it? For doing my nails myself, they always turn out pretty good, and often last awhile, then they just randomly pop off. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/UrKillinMeBiggs to r/Nails [link] [comments]

How does ultraviolet light harden/dry gel nail polish?
I got my acrylic nails done yesterday. My tech uses “gel” nail polish in different colors, and also uses a thick clear gel as a glue for rhinestones and charms. The paint is applied, and after you stick your hand under a UV lamp for 45-60 seconds, it’s hard as a rock and completely dry. What is happening during that 1 minute “curing” process? Why does a higher UV wattage (160+) work faster? What is the difference with regular nail polish vs gel polish if acetone removes both (but they dry differently)? submitted by /u/Sobadatsnazzynames to r/askscience [link] [comments]

I always wear some clear nail polish that strongly fluoresces. When I’m outside and I see some blue on my thumb, I know the UV index is high and it’s sunscreen time.
