AITA for refusing to get this coffee order?
36M meeting friends for a hike. I asked him (another friend, 30s M) his order. We're running a few minutes behind and people in the group are usually 15 minutes late or so, but I didn't want to make us even later than that. When we arrived, he wouldn't drink it and then gave me crap about how I was clearly afraid to order it. It's not false. It got drank anyway so really not a big deal but AITA for refusing to order that? submitted by /u/horseduckman to r/AITApod [link] [comments]

TIFU by stealing my coworkers $400 worth of coffee pods
For context, I work in a small office (like 8 people) and we have a shared kitchen area with a Nespresso machine. When I started, I saw there were always pods sitting in the basket next to the machine and I just assumed they were communal office supplies, like the tea bags and stuff. I was pumped because free fancy coffee at work is always a win. Fast forward to today. Im making my usual afternoon cappuccino and this girl from accounting walks in. She looks at me weird and goes "hey random question but have you been using the Nespresso a lot lately?" I said yeah obviously, its there for everyone right? Her face just dropped. Turns out she brought it from home because the office coffee sucks and shes been buying her own pods this whole time. She said she noticed they were going way faster than usual but figured maybe she was just drinking more coffee than she thought. Then she saw a few other people using it recently and it all made sense. I literally wanted to die right there. I immediately offered to venmo her and told her I have some money saved up that I can send her right now for all the pods. She tried calculating it in her head and was like "honestly its probably a couple hundred dollars worth at this point." Those little boxes are like $8-10 for ten pods and I've been going through maybe 2-3 a day since I started. She was trying to be polite about it and said we can figure it out later, which somehow made it worse?? Now I cant even look at her and the next few days are gonna be so awkward. Like three other people in the office apparently also thought it was communal and have been using it too, but I was definitely the main culprit since I was there every single day. TL;DR thought the fancy office Nespresso was communal, turned out to be my coworkers personal machine and I basically robbed her of hundreds of dollars in coffee pods submitted by /u/Positive-Pen6491 to r/tifu [link] [comments]

Coffee Budget
Just shut down a coffee roasting business I had running for the last five years. Tariffs were really kicking my ass so it was just best to pause for now. That said, I haven’t really purchased “consumer” coffee in a long time and am now trying to come up with a healthy budget for my new coffee situation. I’m curious what ya’ll are spending on a monthly basis for coffee both for home supply and at coffee shops. I feel like $100/month sounds high, but also fairly accurate. About 2 lbs a month for home supply @ $20/lb + $15/week (average) at shops? What say you? submitted by /u/DevinGreenwell to r/Coffee [link] [comments]

Overheard at the coffee shop: two college girls “studying”
There was a lot of quotable conversation from these two students but here are the highlights: - I think the paperclip in this story represents her vagina, and he like stole her paperclip so he symbolically stole her vagina, but there are literally so many things in this story that represent vaginas - I don’t understand history at all. People fought wars over the dumbest things. Like, the whole revolutionary war could have been settled over a cup of tea. And World War One was started just because someone shot Franz Kafka - The Roman Empire makes no sense. I mean how were they in Italy AND Jerusalem? - The other day I was reading about Protestants and it hit me…They’re called Protestants because they were “PROTESTING”! - everyone from New York is either Jewish, gay, or smart. And there’s like a lot of overlap there too. What do think our professor is? He’s at least two… submitted by /u/squirrels-mock-me to r/overheard [link] [comments]

New hire got fired on day one for stealing all the coffee
This really amused me. We hired this lady, who during her morning training process seemed pretty high strung but nothing too hard to deal with. Midway through the day we were in the break room and she gestured at two large full bags of Starbucks beans next to the coffee maker and asked everyone in there, “whose are these?” And someone responded “oh those are free for anyone to use, the company buys coffee for everyone” and she said “oh cool.” I guess as she was leaving for the day she took this very literally and put both bags of beans in her purse as she was going home. There was a hubbub the rest of the day as everyone was confused there was no more coffee. Eventually it got put together she took them, I think someone saw it happen. She came in today for 10 minutes, was called into the manager office, now she’s gone. submitted by /u/MiddleComfortable158 to r/coworkerstories [link] [comments]

Unexpected from my favorite local Coffee Shop...
Only noticed the sticker once I got back in the car. I've been supporting this small local coffee shop (Invita) since I moved to the area... the gasp I gasped as soon as I saw it. I'm not surprised there are supporters in this particular area, but I am pretty shocked this place has the gumption to take a pretty divisive stance; and for something as innocuous as a coffee sticker? "We love you"?????? Wtf. Not sure how to feel about them now.. submitted by /u/serioussslyy to r/sandiego [link] [comments]

Instant coffee is the best type of coffee
1 - Time: It literally takes seconds to make. You want coffee, its in the name: INSTANT. "Oh you want coffee, sure let me grind the beans and set it to brew and then clean it all up." 2 - Ease: You cant mess it up. There is no prep time, unless you want to boil water. Want iced coffee? Just use tap water and throw some ice cubes in there. Hot coffee? Use hot tap water or boil it. 3 - Cost: It is by far the most cost effective way to drink coffee. You can get a whole months supply of instant coffee for a few dollars. No need to buy coffee filters, brewing equipment, anything. Cup, instant coffee, and water - all you need. 4 - Taste: Is there coffee out there that tastes better? Yes. How much better? Marginally. Is the few percent better taste worth it? Not at all. 5 - No clean up: You’re trash can will never be filled with grounds. You don't have to clean a coffee pot or whatever fancy brewing equipment you have. Clean your cup - that's it. 6 - Consistent: Every cup will be the exact same. Again, you actually can't mess it up. Edit: While further thinking on this while drinking my tepid instant coffee. It honestly just tastes better than 99% of coffee that I've had. submitted by /u/travis8888 to r/unpopularopinion [link] [comments]

Coffee. Is. Life changing
As a 14 year old in his first year of Highschool coffee is amazing. I had it for the first time and my brain felt quiet. For the first time that I can remember I was truly calm, my brain was… uncluttered. It was absolutely amazing. I just sat there feeling my brain for like 10 minutes reveling in the feeling. I physically can’t describe it well but I got fucking emotional. I realized how people actually feel and do work. I’m not gonna pretend I know as much about adhd as other people in this sub but based on my own experience I’d suggest you drink coffees! submitted by /u/Astral_Ruler_2789 to r/ADHD [link] [comments]
