Diaper Blowouts!
My 9 week old (2/4/2026) has been on a 1 poop in 48 hours schedule. This has been actually better for her tummy than her previous multiple poops a day. The thing is that her poops are now so large in volume and liquid in texture that they always cause a massive blowout. Poop everywhere from shoulder to toe! She was earlier wearing Huggies skin essentials newborn and they were great for her. However, they have been leaving marks and become tight on the belly. We switched to size 1 but they are not snug on the thighs and cause poop to leak out the side. Tried coterie 1 and same issue, same with parasol 1. Millie moon Newborn was too tight on the waste but we haven't tried 1. I am confused about what to do. She's probably a little over 11 pounds and 22inch long now. She was 10lbs 7oz at her 8.5 week checkup. Any suggestions from others? What diapers should we try? I remember a size 1 Up n Up sample fit her well at the 8.5 week mark but she pooped like 2 minutes after we put her in it and then we changed. It did not leak. The only quantity available is a pack of 168 count. I want to be sure before I buy that they are actually good for skinny legs with a belly baby before I buy a whole pack. Let me know if anyone has tried them. submitted by /u/Complaint-Lower to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

I desperately need help
I have an 8 month old who has never been a good sleeper from day 1. But I am a SAHM and was willing to put up with it and wake up with the baby through the night as I didn’t have anywhere to be in the morning. For a while, cosleeping helped tremendously. He was waking up less and he settled back down quickly. But sometime in the last few weeks, that’s stopped working and we’re back to waking every 30-60min. I really, really do not want to sleep train. I don’t want to let my baby cry and suffer. But I am at the very end of my rope. It’s affecting my marriage, my mental health and my physical ability to parent during the day. I don’t know what else to do. This is my first baby and I’ve tried not to be a super “by the book” parent; I’ve tried to be more intuitive and go with baby’s natural rhythms. For instance, I don’t force a nap schedule or a set a strict bedtime but instead I let baby fall into his own patterns, and he naturally fell into a developmentally appropriate nap/bedtime schedule on his own without any forcing from me. He wakes between 6:30-7:30am, usually goes down for his morning nap around 10am, his second nap around 1-2pm and occasionally a third nap in the late afternoon though that’s been slowly phasing out. Bedtime is 8pm. So his schedule is roughly 3/3/4, though it’s not down to a perfect science. He is eating three meals of solids per day (he decided at 7mo that he hates purées and wants nothing to do with them anymore, so we’re onto baby led weaning) with bottles throughout the day approximately every 3 hours, usually anywhere from 5-7oz per bottle depending on how hungry he is. He has his biggest bottle before bed which is usually 7 or 8oz. I’ve tried the rice cereal in the formula trick and it doesn’t make a difference in his sleep. He is a good eater but he still has 2-3 bottles throughout the night. If he doesn’t get a bottle when he wakes up at night he SCREAMS and becomes completely inconsolable and hysterical—arching his back, contorting his body, smacking me, completely red in the face. Sometimes a pacifier will placate him for a few minutes but if he wants that bottle, absolutely nothing else will stop his crying. He also routinely has diaper leaks throughout the night, sometimes wetting through his pajamas up to three times in a single night—so that’s been extremely disruptive to his sleep. We have had this problem on and off since he was a newborn. I change him halfway through the night to make sure his diaper isn’t too full, and he still experiences leaks. I’ve tried six different brands of diapers, including the expensive Coterie ones, I’ve tried Sposie booster pads, I’ve tried layering two diapers on him before bed, I’ve tried sizing up and sizing down. Ive tried adjusting the temperature of the room. I’ve tried looser fitting PJs. Nothing works and I literally can’t figure this out. My husband thinks it’s bc he tosses and turns so much in his sleep but he has had this problem even as a newborn baby who couldn’t move. I always point his penis down into the diaper and keep the ruffles out, diaper snug around the waist and legs. He never has leaks during the day, it only ever happens at night. It makes me nervous to attempt sleep training because I don’t want him laying soaked in his own pee all night. It’s driving us literally insane and I’m desperate for some advice or guidance from anyone who has been in a similar spot. I don’t want to just close the door on him and let him scream himself to sleep at night, but I feel we need to do something because this situation is completely unsustainable. I have tried comforting him with just my hand, offering the pacifier, white noise machines, adjusting room temperature, trying sleep sacks, doing pick up/put down but as I mentioned he will scream hysterically and thrash until he is fed. What do I do?! His pediatrician didn’t even seem concerned about this at his 6month well baby visit and was basically like “yea it’s hard” but didn’t give us any specific guidance on what to do. She didn’t mention anything to us about his nap/feeding schedule during our visit or suggest that we were doing anything wrong in that regard. So I just don’t know what is causing this. I guess I have to assume it’s just me and I’ve done something wrong somewhere along the way. submitted by /u/CommunistCetacean to r/sleeptrain [link] [comments]

coterie diaper sizing / looking for a clean good quality night time diaper!
anyone having issues with coterie diapers? it works well with my first, but with my second who is ~14 lbs, based on coterie's measurements, we would need a size 2 or maybe a size 3 diaper. no matter which size or what we do (fold the top, make sure the bottom flaps are out, tape it diagonal and not straight across, etc.), the diapers leak up back or by the thigh! coterie sent us size 3 PANTS to try which didnt consistently work either. then they even suggested trying SIZE 4 or SIZE 5 diaper?! my oldest is a size 5 diaper. no WAY the baby is a size 4 or 5. that's insane and i can't believe they would suggest that. what other alternatives have worked for you? really looking for a clean good quality night time diaper! submitted by /u/HeavyChocolate0 to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

leaving the newborn period, bittersweet, thank you all
so many late nights at 3am, 5am, spent pumping or feeding or burping - I would anxiously be on this and r/newparents trying to figure out anything and everything (even with support from my wonderful partner and family!) truly postpartum anxiety combined with sleep deprivation is a doozy (actually, just pure torture). what everyone said was true, and now that lil bun is 3 months old, there are no regrets and i can barely remember the feeling of the first terrible two months (many times I was like... am I one and done? why did I do this? how did the human species acutally continue?) it's hard, but it is so worth it (ugh all the cliches are true!!!! why!!!!). i wanted to return the favor and list all the things that I found helpful and to be true during the first 3 months (the first 2 were painful) for those who are in the trenches at 4am like i was. every baby and family is different, so take what you'd like and leave the rest! getting an IBCLC was the best thing we did postpartum (shout out ora feeding!! they have a great ig too). my baby latched right away and i had 0 pain breastfeeding - however i was so confused about how much she should be taking, how long, etc. a reputable and well reviewed IBCLC is worth it and our insurance covered it. my regret is i did not breastfeed longer, and i wish i did not rush to the pump so fast out of desperation for efficiency. i would say to anyone who is having a good experience (no pain, good latch, strong bonding), it may just take time to get into the groove (understanding you will have asymmetrical boobies, trusting your gut when baby is done eating/full, etc). i did not realize there were so many benefits to breastfeeding for the mother and child (reduction of cancer risk, baby saliva giving feedback for updated antibodies, etc). i was too type A about all of it (pumping at the exact time, stressing if a feed was missed, etc), but still with an IBCLC i was able to give my baby breastmilk for 1.5 months, and i'm proud of that :) i would change so much if i could go back, but i know i shouldn't be too hard on myself. also, thank all the gods of every religion for formula. diaper rash - for us, ours had diaper rash just from how often she pooped. we changed her poop diapers asap. as soon as her poops reduced to 1-2x a day (i think around 1.5-2 months), it went away completely and now we have a big jar of buttpaste that i think will never be fully used lol. when she had her diaper rash, the skin was ulcerating (many little red ulcers that looked painful) just like many posts here mention. buttpaste helped greatly, but again, once the frequency of poops reduced it helped so much. spit up/gas - this got so much better as her digestive system matured. hang in there!!! for us, we had to burp (saw so many youtube videos saying you don't have to burp a baby which totally misled us...) ours also would scream cry from gas pains/etc in her first 1 month or so. it was sooooo painful to see and kept us up around the clock, but this all went away as soon as her digestive system improved. bobbie probiotics also was helpful the first month. sleep - torture the first 2 months. i wanted to die (hello PPD). going from someone who slept 11 hours a day to living on 2 hours of sleep a day was life altering for me. i truly think the majority of my PPA/PPD came from the shock of sleep deprivation. i knew it would happen, but i was in total denial while pregnant. the sleep deprivation truly was the hardest part for me (so much love to all the other families, moms, and babies who have to deal with so much more). i saw so many posts saying it gets better (i know its not the case for everyone! and i know it changes!) we went from feeding almost every 1-2 hours for two months to right now, lil bean only has about 1-2 wake ups per night and i almost feel sane. the change is whiplash for me. hang in there parents!!!! there are so many particularities to how we have to put our baby to sleep... ninni pacifier (bc we had breastfed), swaddle (tried all kinds omg, love to dream, ergopouch, blanket swaddles... you name it)... and sometimes its still just a 1 min nap in the day lol. parents, just do what you feel is right for you and your kid - idk about all these sleep specialist people and social media sleep advice things. some worked and some didn't, to each their own! visitors - our pediatrician allowed us to get her first round of shots at 1.5 month so we allowed visitors after that. this was something my husband and i disagreed on (he wanted visitors much earlier) and a point of contention/resentment. i'll say i'm glad i got my way, esp since right now we both have covid lol. cradle cap - we put coconut oil on when the bath starts, let it sit, then use dr bronner's baby soap on the head only with a kyte baby sea sponge to exfoliate/soap up. the dandruff comes back every few days which is perfect timing for the next sponge bath baby eczema - vanicream cream moisturizer as frequently as possible! has helped wonders for us. blow out diapers - nonstop really until her pooping force chilled out. our baby has a long torso and the poop would shoot out with such force/momentum it inevitably would go up her back. the blow outs went away as soon as her poop stopped shooting out with such force/my hand wasn't on her booty blocking where the poop needed to land. changing brands/sizes only helped a bit. we were in parasol diapers for a long time and have switched to coterie because they fit her long torso much better/catches poop better. poop stains - soak/rinse in cold water with detergent. our cord fell of wayyy later than normal and everything was ok (around 6 weeks lol) - just check in pediatrician to be sure/no signs of infection etc baby acne - started week 2, did nothing, came and went on its own (around 1 month all gone). we are diligent about daily wet towel wiping and drying esp around folds. we put on earth mama baby cheeks/nose balm after. vitamin D - no one brought up that we needed to supplement this (pediatrician, IBCLC, L&D nurses, etc lol). thank goodness for bobbie formula and reddit for bringing up vitamin D for me. went back to our doctor who said yes, we did need to supplement, oops on their end lol. red rashes on skin - our little one has angel kisses & a stork bite. the angel kiss around her eye & between her eyes is nearly gone now (still faint) and the stork bite is still very present and obvious. pediatrician said the nevus simplex on her face will go away with time but the neck one may not and that it is normal head shape - have been so diligent with tummy time (started as soon as possible belly to belly since it took so long for her cord to fall off), turning her head left since she preferred right. her right flat spot is slowly going away but she does have one on the back of her head that fingers crossed should go away when she isn't on her back as much (pediatrician also said heads should round out on their own with time, mine doesn't believe in helmets except in unique cases such as a patient of theirs had fused skull bones and needed surgery) feeding on an incline (i use just a regular queen sized soft pillow and lay her in the middle comfortably, before i would hold her in the crook of my arm at an incline with support at the important areas) has helped my baby poop easier. gravity is our friend. before her poop was regular, it would always happen when i was trying to burp her (this is the pose we did taught to us by our IBCLC https://www.instagram.com/p/CtKk7mGJdvU/) family dynamics - no matter how great my relationship was with my mom and in laws (even siblings and sibling in laws!!!), tension arose. my husband and i also had resentment during the early newborn period. its all SO hard. a new baby makes people go crazy (me included, PPA must have been a biological evolutionary response omg). if i could go back, i would have set expectations properly with my husband, set boundaries very early on with both mom and MIL, and only allow family visitors to stay over if they were willing to help alleviate stress for me and my husband. the best advice a friend gave me was that she had to have a serious convo with both sets of parents that "this is how we are raising our kid(s)" in relation to any parenting topic. grandparents have to respect and learn to respect us as parents. my therapist also said that it's important to use your voice for the small things first so that things do not build up later and relationships can be maintained. wake windows - we go with her flow. the best thing a doula told me is to offer bottle/boob as soon as a baby wakes from a nap to prevent crying at all. the best thing a montessori book taught me was that our babies will communicate their needs with us, but we just need to pay attention and catch their nuances. once i learned how my baby communicates certain needs (different sound/yelp for food and nap - screaming/hyperventilating = overtired, nee sounds = hungry, singular scream every few seconds = sleepy, ready for nap time lol), she barely cries now and feels like such an easy baby (again, every baby is different!!! some of you were gifted an expert level babe!!!) a lot of posts in the past also mention to not disturb a happy baby esp if they are just lying around chilling. in my experience, they're right - let your baby be bored, don't entertain them, let them be if they're chill and calm! everyone was right, when the bub stops being a potato and starts to smile back/respond/love you more than anyone else - your brain malfunctions and decides IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! goodluck in the newborn trenches everyone. i hope to god it gets better for every single one of you (although i know its not always the case!!! my baby went from medium hard to easy level!!!). passing on all the love to all you strangers as the ones before really reassured and affirmed me when i needed it most. submitted by /u/oysterbagel to r/newborns [link] [comments]

Positive cloth diapering experience for those on the fence!
Wanted to share my positive cloth diaper experience using Esembly for those on the fence. I was uncertain about cloth diapering and assumed I’d quit, but now I love it! Current Gear Esembly cloth diaper inners & outers, fleece liners, overnighters Honest company disposable diapers Usage Cloth diapering during the days & evenings while at home, disposables for overnights & outings (although we could certainly use cloth for overnight). Baby is 3 months old and exclusively breast fed. Field Report Pros - Easy to use: Esembly diapers have no learning curve, easy to get other caregivers on board - Luxe feel: relative to most disposables (besides Coterie maybe?) the diapers just feel very premium. I feel better about putting my baby in them. Most disposables feel like gross plastic bags to me at this point - No diaper rash: Might be specific to my baby but I haven’t yet had issues with diaper rash. I’m strict about changing her every 2 hours and I’ll often do a quick check in between; if the diaper is wet or I heard a poop, she’s changed immediately - Cost effective: If you’re using very cheap disposables, you might need to use cloth diapers for a while to recoup your money. If you’re using something like Coterie you’ll recoup it much faster. I prefer to change my daughter every time I notice wetness whether cloth or disposable (anytime I saw a blue line I’d change her) so I really churn through diapers. I feel much better doing this with cloth rather than disposable! I use 6-12 cloth diapers during the day and expect I’ll recoup my money in about 5 months. - Absolutely zero blowouts: This is what got my husband on board with cloth diapering. We struggle a lot with blowouts. Baby either poops a lot very fast and it’s hard for disposable diapers to absorb it up without leaking, or her body changes fast enough that we can’t find the right size/brand fit well. Cloth diapers have never blown out for us which is INCREDIBLE. I love that Esembly (and presumably other brands) let you customize the fit well. Cons - Big upfront investment: Not much to say here other than if you use Esembly you’ll probably drop a couple hundred dollars up front 😵‍💫 - Smell from diaper pail: This hasn’t been horrible, but I do get an ammonia smell from the diaper bag near the end of 2-3 days. Working on a fix. - Washing: I personally don’t find this to be a drag but if you have limited laundry capacity, it could get annoying. submitted by /u/mosquitomange to r/clothdiaps [link] [comments]

RE:Peeing through diapers every night.
I was having this problem with my son as well until I sized up in either coterie or kudos diapers. He’s wearing size 5 and I have only had one leak through since putting him in size 5. Might try size up one or two sizes, or buy the inserts. I did that as well while we finished the other sizes and that worked. I used the sposie brand.

for us, we had to burp (saw so many youtube videos saying you don't have to burp a baby which totally misled us...) ours also would scream cry from gas pains/etc in her first 1 month or so. it was sooooo painful to see and kept us up around the clock, but this all went away as soon as her digestive system improved. bobbie probiotics also was helpful the first month. sleep - torture the first 2 months. i wanted to die (hello PPD). going from someone who slept 11 hours a day to living on 2 hours of sleep a day was life altering for me. i truly think the majority of my PPA/PPD came from the shock of sleep deprivation. i knew it would happen, but i was in total denial while pregnant. the sleep deprivation truly was the hardest part for me (so much love to all the other families, moms, and babies who have to deal with so much more). i saw so many posts saying it gets better (i know its not the case for everyone! and i know it changes!) we went from feeding almost every 1-2 hours for two months to right now, lil bean only has about 1-2 wake ups per night and i almost feel sane. the change is whiplash for me. hang in there parents!!!! there are so many particularities to how we have to put our baby to sleep... ninni pacifier (bc we had breastfed), swaddle (tried all kinds omg, love to dream, ergopouch, blanket swaddles... you name it)... and sometimes its still just a 1 min nap in the day lol. parents, just do what you feel is right for you and your kid - idk about all these sleep specialist people and social media sleep advice things. some worked and some didn't, to each their own! visitors - our pediatrician allowed us to get her first round of shots at 1.5 month so we allowed visitors after that. this was something my husband and i disagreed on (he wanted visitors much earlier) and a point of contention/resentment. i'll say i'm glad i got my way, esp since right now we both have covid lol. cradle cap - we put coconut oil on when the bath starts, let it sit, then use dr bronner's baby soap on the head only with a kyte baby sea sponge to exfoliate/soap up. the dandruff comes back every few days which is perfect timing for the next sponge bath baby eczema - vanicream cream moisturizer as frequently as possible! has helped wonders for us. blow out diapers - nonstop really until her pooping force chilled out. our baby has a long torso and the poop would shoot out with such force/momentum it inevitably would go up her back. the blow outs went away as soon as her poop stopped shooting out with such force/my hand wasn't on her booty blocking where the poop needed to land. changing brands/sizes only helped a bit. we were in parasol diapers for a long time and have switched to coterie because they fit her long torso much better/catches poop better. poop stains - soak/rinse in cold water with detergent. our cord fell of wayyy later than normal and everything was ok (around 6 weeks lol) - just check in pediatrician to be sure/no signs of infection etc baby acne - started week 2, did nothing, came and went on its own (around 1 month all gone). we are diligent about daily wet towel wiping and drying esp around folds. we put on earth mama baby cheeks/nose balm after. vitamin D - no one brought up that we needed to supplement this (pediatrician, IBCLC, L&D nurses, etc lol). thank goodness for bobbie formula and reddit for bringing up vitamin D for me. went back to our doctor who said yes, we did need to supplement, oops on their end lol. red rashes on skin - our little one has angel kisses & a stork bite. the angel kiss around her eye & between her eyes is nearly gone now (still faint) and the stork bite is still very present and obvious. pediatrician said the nevus simplex on her face will go away with time but the neck one may not and that it is normal head shape - have been so diligent with tummy time (started as soon as possible belly to belly since it took so long for her cord to fall off), turning her head left since she preferred right. her right flat spot is slowly going away but she does have one on the back of her head that fingers crossed should go away when she isn't on her back as much (pediatrician also said heads should round out on their own with time, mine doesn't believe in helmets except in unique cases such as a patient of theirs had fused skull bones and needed surgery) feeding on an incline (i use just a regular queen sized soft pillow and lay her in the middle comfortably, before i would hold her in the crook of my arm at an incline with support at the important areas) has helped my baby poop easier. gravity is our friend. before her poop was regular, it would always happen when i was trying to burp her (this is the pose we did taught to us by our IBCLC https://www.instagram.com/p/CtKk7mGJdvU/) family dynamics - no matter how great my relationship was with my mom and in laws (even siblings and sibling in laws!!!), tension arose. my husband and i also had resentment during the early newborn period. its all SO hard. a new baby makes people go crazy (me included, PPA must have been a biological evolutionary response omg). if i could go back, i would have set expectations properly with my husband, set boundaries very early on with both mom and MIL, and only allow family visitors to stay over if they were willing to help alleviate stress for me and my husband. the best advice a friend gave me was that she had to have a serious convo with both sets of parents that "this is how we are raising our kid(s)" in relation to any parenting topic. grandparents have to respect and learn to respect us as parents. my therapist also said that it's important to use your voice for the small things first so that things do not build up later and relationships can be maintained. wake windows - we go with her flow. the best thing a doula told me is to offer bottle/boob as soon as a baby wakes from a nap to prevent crying at all. the best thing a montessori book taught me was that our babies will communicate their needs with us, but we just need to pay attention and catch their nuances. once i learned how my baby communicates certain needs (different sound/yelp for food and nap - screaming/hyperventilating = overtired, nee sounds = hungry, singular scream every few seconds = sleepy, ready for nap time lol), she barely cries now and feels like such an easy baby (again, every baby is different!!! some of you were gifted an expert level babe!!!) a lot of posts in the past also mention to not disturb a happy baby esp if they are just lying around chilling. in my experience, they're right - let your baby be bored, don't entertain them, let them be if they're chill and calm! everyone was right, when the bub stops being a potato and starts to smile back/respond/love you more than anyone else - your brain malfunctions and decides IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! goodluck in the newborn trenches everyone. i hope to god it gets better for every single one of you (although i know its not always the case!!! my baby went from medium hard to easy level!!!). passing on all the love to all you strangers as the ones before really reassured and affirmed me when i needed it most. submitted by /u/oysterbagel to r/newborns [link] [comments]

Overnight diapers for heavy wetters
I recently tried a whole bunch of diapers to see what would work best for my 7 month old who pees a TON overnight. He's tall and close to a size 4 so we sized up to a 4 for all of these. Kudos: 0/10. Didn't even dare to try them overnight after they were fully saturated in two hours during the day! Honest overnight: 2/10. Worked great one night, the next night baby woke up in a puddle of pee. Everything was soaked. Millie moon overnight: 4/10. Baby woke very damp, sometimes soaking through to the bed. It was like the pee soaked through the diaper. UPDATE: MM has pthalates so I'm changing it to a 0/10 Freestyle: 5/10. Baby woke only slightly damp but reeked of pee! Could have rated higher if it didn't smell so strongly of urine. Parasol 8/10. No leaks. Baby's skin was damp in the morning though when I changed him. Coterie: 9/10. No leaks overnight. Only problem is that they're expensive. The verdict: We ended up going with parasol due to the cost savings using target deals submitted by /u/abbiyah to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

2026 Diaper Comparison (Open for Feedback!)
Inspired by a previous Reddit Post (2025 Diaper Comparison by LilChowder), I've created my own 2026 draft diaper comparison chart, comparing 20 brands, open for feedback! The first image is sorted by price, the second by score, and the third lists side notes (including certifications and common concerns). Here's how I put this together: Benefits Examined: For this exercise, I've exclusively researched brands that are often cited as "non-toxic" or "clean." I also tried to research "eco-friendly" brands, since I know diaper waste is a major contributor to landfills. Here are the factors I looked at: Price (per diaper & monthly. Assumes Size 2, 240 diapers/mo) Quality (overall score for absorption, leakage, comfort, and durability, with the help of AI and reading reviews) -- An area that could use some feedback! Chlorine Free or ECF Fragrance free Paraben, Latex, & Phthalate Free Lotion Free Dye Free or Uses Safe Dyes Made of 40%+ Plant-Based Materials and 50%+ biodegradable (determined through a combination of researching articles, websites, and AI analysis) Has a Wetness Indicator? (something I think would be handy) How I Scored Each Diaper Each benefit column has a point score, determined by my preference. ("Non-toxic" factors = 34% of score / Quality = 21% / Price= 21% / Eco-friendiness = 21% / Wetness indicator = 3%) Having a wetness indicator is just something I'm interested in, so I threw it on! My Results (Top 5 Diaper Picks): Freestyle Pura Bamboo Nature Kudos Natural (I'm intrigued by their unique 100% cotton liner) Eco by Naty Summary: I was pleasantly surprised to see how many good options are out there! And how many popular "clean" brands are not what they seem. But with all this crunched, I know a baby's preference, size, sensitivities, and personal experience are also very important factors that should be weighed individually. So, I'm hopeful this list is a good place to get started. As a first-time soon-to-be mom, looking for options to begin, I'd love to hear what you think of this list. What's been your experience with some of these brands? Are there others I should consider? https://preview.redd.it/45zhuvntj6kg1.jpg?width=1607&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41cf668c22689475fd8d4f40377a9affa7118d19 https://preview.redd.it/h8vs8wntj6kg1.jpg?width=1594&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d836cd5d45e8ae265664c88f34908eb7e806a903 https://preview.redd.it/hm6wt94vj6kg1.jpg?width=2200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea9f7d4ec11e8a3f71458f28a3810d9be1568d7f submitted by /u/Prestigious_Bite6208 to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

Can't stop nighttime diaper leaks
I'm desperate for solutions. I feel like I've tried everything and I cannot stop my 5-month old girl from peeing through her diaper at night. Her pee leaks are always out the top/side of her diaper around one of her hips. I put her to bed around 7:30, do a dream feed with a diaper change at 10pm, and then inevitably she wakes up in the middle of the night with wet PJs. Here's what I've tried: Huggies Overnight diapers size 3 (weight range for these is 16-28 lbs and she weighs 16 lbs) Coterie diapers size 3 Both of those diapers both with and without the Sposie booster pads Pee leaks occur whether I or my husband puts on her diaper (in case it's a technique issue) Is there anything else worth trying?? I feel so bad for the poor bub waking up wet night after night. submitted by /u/wicker-biscuit to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

Diaper drama. HELP 😅
Let me just start off by saying. That I’m so close to attempting to potty train my barely 1.5 year old over these damn diapers. Ok. So. We started out with Hello Bello. And leaks ALL the time. Then luvs. Ugh. Don’t get me started. Then finally as a Huggies family. But Then Kirkland. Then Kirkland changed the company that makes their diapers and we switched to pampers. LOVED PAMPERS. until… they started falling apart!! Little bead things all over the little guy at every diaper change. The tabs ripping off while trying to put the diaper ON. We’ve since tried rascals. Didn’t love them and they leaked. Millie moon (they fit funny. Leak sometimes with barely any pee. The overnights aren’t holding as much as pampers ones. And there’s like no elastic to the band at all. I tried searching like good housekeeping and other sites for best diapers. They all perform the same tests and all give a different “best” diaper. What do I do? Go back to pampers? I feel like I’m losing my head trying to find a good diaper. And I’m not willing to spend Coterie prices on diapers but if I have to I guess I will?? With my two older kids I literally only used dollar store diapers and I LOVED them. But they were skinny babies compared to my thicker current child lol. He’s the size of the average 2 year old! Any advice or recommendations would be amazing bc I’m ready to throw in the towel. submitted by /u/Terrible_Border_8643 to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

Update on COTERIE DIAPER GATE!!
My last post about being at my wits end at blowouts with Coterie diapers was met with so many (mostly kind) suggestions, the biggest one being to size up. We did immediately size up to a size 3 in Coterie (6 mo, 16 lbs), which seems to be a better fit. We also got Huggies overnight diapers, and tried out the Huggies Skin Essentials all in the *proper size*. However, we are still waking up every.single.morning. with poop/liquid through her onesie and sleep sack. She sleeps on her tummy and tends to move around a lot. It is always on her tummy usually and out the sides. We have tried three diapers now with no luck, do I need to get an even bigger size? Wear the diaper backwards? We even tried waking her up in the middle of the night to change her and she was NOT HAPPY, so I don't want to make a habit of it. I even had her pediatrician watch us put the diaper on to ensure this was not user error. Is this just our fate? Do I just accept that it's a daily laundry problem and move on? Any additional suggestions are appreciated!! UPDATE: It's been nearly a month and we have found what (mostly!) works. 1) We tried Pampers Swaddlers for daytime and they gave her the most horrible rash- we had to get steroid creams from the doctor just to caIm it down .We did size up to size 4 Coterie and 98% of the time, they are holding in blowouts now!! 2) We are doing size 4 huggies overnights with a posie liner and IT IS WORKING. no more waking up with a soaked sleep sack! When she runs out of the 4s, I will size up to a size 5. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP! submitted by /u/Unlucky-Carpenter-10 to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Coterie pant diaper
Has anyone used the coterie pant diaper? My daughter is 9.5 months and absolutely hates diaper changes. We do most while she stands so figured I might try the coterie pant diaper. We already use coterie and love them. Has anyone used the pant for their baby? Do they run similar in size to the diapers? She’s a size 4 diaper right now. Blowout proof diapers for a small baby
My little one (now 3 weeks) was born 5 lbs 6 oz and is now up to 6 lbs, so she’s still super tiny. We’ve been using Pampers Swaddlers (size P1) but have had many blowouts in them. Looking to get a new diaper and Coterie was suggested, but they don’t make a premie size so I’m afraid Coterie would be too big for now. Any suggestions for stronger diapers in this time when she’s still too tiny for a newborn size? submitted by /u/reddi180 to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

Coterie diapers
My baby has worn Coterie diapers since birth. He’s 3.5 months old. We increased size early because of blow out diapers. He is definitely in the correct size, the size up is massive for him. He is continuing to have a poop blowout almost everyday. Has anyone had this issue with them then switched to a different brand and didn’t? I love the feel of them and how they are non toxic so haven’t wanted to change but we are about to try Dyper and a box of Honest I have. Thanks in advance for sharing. submitted by /u/IcyDebt8884 to r/baby [link] [comments]

Diaper suggestions?
We are currently using the Pampers Pure Baby diapers for my little 5 month old, but I do not like their new product. They seem scratchy and less soft than their original pure protection diapers which I cannot find anywhere. BUT they are the only diapers she has not had any blowouts in. We have tried Huggies (not a great fit for my long baby), Millie Moon (caused daily blowouts), Rascals (caused many blowouts), Coterie (not for her sadly), and Honest (no). We also tried cloth diapers, but they are just so hard for me, I still haven't gotten the hang of them. Any diaper suggestions for long torso babies? Preferably those "clean" brands (I get paranoid whenever I see those posts of mothers finding glass shards in their Pampers diapers, or the horrible rashes from the lion print Huggies diapers). I am thinking of trying Parasol diapers, any experience with them? Edit: Currently using Parasol which we love! Costco is a bit far from where we live, so we haven't had the chance to try the Kirkland brand yet. We finally got a hold of the Freestyle diapers (they are ALWAYS sold out), but I bought the wrong size so she got major blowouts... but I do love their material. submitted by /u/boracandii to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

I tracked 14 months of baby data: every diaper, every ounce of formula, every dollar spent. Here are the actual numbers!
Hello, future, soon to be, and already dads! When our baby was on the way, I tried to find out what the formula and diapers will cost. After all, this is one expensive journey, and it's good to be prepared! There are multiple estimates out there that vary widely, so I always wanted to see what it will actually cost. That is when an idea to track it all came up. When my daughter was born, I became a man possessed. Not by sleep deprivation. Not by baby wipes. By data. 🍼 Every bottle fed. 💩 Every diaper changed. 📈 Every ounce tracked — for 14 straight months. There are multiple apps on appstores that you can use to replicate it. Me and my wife used an app called 'Baby Tracker' by Nighp Software for iOS. Free version is absolutely enough, unless ads bother you or you need watch integration. Ads are not intrusive though and apple watch screen is too small to bother with in when you're in the middle of changing diapers anyway, so stick with free version. Now, for the data. Here’s what it actually costs. 1. Formula Over the first 14 months, our baby drank 10,876 ounces of milk. That is roughly 322 liters or 85 gallons. Milk consumption chart Some notes: Around 4 months, we started purees and food other than milk. Around 8-9 months, we peaked with milk consumption with baby eating around 35 ounces a day Around 8-9 months, we started feeding her more and more of what we ate, with that trend accelerating once the baby went off formula after 1st birthday. Milk cost Now for the cost calculation. This can vary a lot based on what formula you're using. We were using Hipp formula that tends to cost around $45 for 800g. It takes around 4.3 g of that formula to prepare 1 oz of milk. 1 gram of formula = $0.05625 or 5.625 cents 4.3 grams of formula = $0.241875 or 24.1875 cents So it costs 24.1875 cents to prepare 1 oz of milk Organic whole milk is $5 for 64 oz, so $0.078125 or 7.8125 cents So with these assumptions: Cost of milk per ounce This is the monthly cost: Cost of milk calculation For a total cost of $2829 for formula and $79 for whole milk for a grand total of $2908. Notes: Baby actually drank 85.6% of served milk, or $2489 worth of it It means $419 basically put down the drain. You can potentially get some savings if you prepare less milk at a time to avoid spoilage, but you risk baby crying in the middle of the night waiting for more milk while you try to save a dollar here or there - carefully weight your choices haha 2. Diapers Over the first 14 months, the baby went through 3349 diapers. Diapers changed by month Some notes: We primarily used Huggies with wetness indicator which was super helpful. A few times, we've used diapers without it, and it was a bit of a guessing game as to when it was necessary to change the diaper. We always changed the diaper when dirty. When it was wet, we estimated how full it was, without trying to test the limits. We'd rather change a few more diapers than deal with leaks. I guess if you pushed the diapers closer to the limit, it could decrease the numbers but you risk a diaper rash and an uncomfortable baby (good diaper cream is expensive). The jump in month 12 is due to a nasty norovirus that went through the daycare. It hit children, staff, AND parents. Don't ask... Fun data points: 18 - Most diapers changed in a day. That was when the baby was 4 days old. We were then informed by the pediatrician that we could perhaps try relaxing a bit and change the diapers less frequently. 14 - Most diapers changed in a day after we realized there is no need to change it that frequently. That was in the period when baby got norovirus and there were many dirty diapers. 2246 - Wet only diapers 1103 - Dirty/Mixed diapers Diapers cost There are many different brands for every budget. We stuck to Huggies from the beginning because these worked the best for us. You can look for deals on big sizes on ebay, use subscribe and save on amazon, stock up on black friday, prime day, etc, buying for weeks/months ahead. Based on our estimated, a blended cost of one diaper in this time was around 27 cents, or $0.27. Using that for calculation, this is what I get: Diaper cost by month Total cost is $904 for 14 months. Total Cost - Formula, milk, and diapers Between formula, milk, and diapers, it all comes down to about $3812 for the first 14 months. That does not include wipes, diaper cream, lotions, body wash, clothes, any other foods like purees, finger foods, and a lot of other things. Please remember this is just one data point for one baby on one type of milk and one kind of diapers. The cost of diapers can easily double if you go for something fancy like Coterie. This kind of tracking isn’t for everyone. But for me? It helped turn chaos into clarity. I've always liked tracking various data points in my life and although it wasn't always easy, my wife and I stuck to logging everything all this time for our baby. We have a 2nd baby on the way and we're planning to track its numbers for comparison so expect me back in some time! Has anyone else done something similar? Have you arrived at similar numbers? Does this look to be in line with your experience? Hope you guys find it helpful! TL;DR It was about $3800 for diapers, formula, and milk for the first 14 months. submitted by /u/SiphonicHippo43 to r/daddit [link] [comments]

Explain like I am 5 how to diaper my baby
I am a FTM and I gave birth last week. In the hospital, I diapered my baby no problem. Ever since coming home, I have been unable to properly diaper him. I am using the same diapers as in the hospital. I am sliding the side that says back underneath him. I am making sure his urine fountain (aka penis) is pointed downward. I am making sure I tuck the top of the diaper in (his umbilical cord is still on). I am making sure the gussets are out. Still, without fail, he pees and it soaks his clothes and swaddle. He poops and it's 50/50 on if it holds. I am wondering if maybe I'm not doing it tight enough? But sometimes I take off the diaper and I can see lines on his chunky hips. But maybe that's ok? I tried watching YouTube videos but they rarely have a live baby losing its mind. I really need to perfect this because he wakes up each time he pees at night and my god I need sleep. Side note: does anyone use diaper rash cream each change? I am wondering if that may make diaper time less traumatic for him as he squirms most of the time. Edit to add: I've tried pampers, coterie, kudos, and parents choice. All sizes that include 8 lbs. I just but on a Millie moon size 2. Send good vibes y'all. Update: Millie moon size two survived with no leaks!! Thanks all! submitted by /u/Fantastic_Fig_2025 to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

Diaper Comparison 2025
TLDR: Created a spreadsheet to compare my top diaper options in US. First pic is sorted by price, second pic is sorted by which I’ll be trying first. (Currently pregnant with my first). Details: All diapers listed are hypoallergenic and all have wetness indicator (two requirements to me). Benefits examined: - Chlorine free or ECF - Fragrance free - Paraben free - Phthalate free - Other notable benefits - Biodegradable How I chose my top picks: - Each benefit column has different value, determined by important to me. (For example, biodegradable would be nice, but not as important as being fragrance free, so I only gave 0.5 points if noted as biodegradable). - Point totals for each row is in column 10 - Only considered items from stores convenient to me. Ideally would like to be able to have in stock at 2+ stores just in case. - The blowout barrier pockets seemed like a real appeal to me Results - my Top 5 (ish) Picks: 1. Up&Up 2. Huggies Little Snugglers (or the Plus version at Costco) 3. Pampers Pure 4. Bambo Nature 5. Pura Summary: While I know this by no means replaces actual experience and every baby is different, I made this to help me decide which options to start with. Hopefully this will help someone else too. Anyone love or hate my top 5 picks? Would love to hear your first-hand experience. submitted by /u/LilChowder to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

We seem to be in between diaper sizes and I am not sure what brand/size combination to try next. My 8 week old is 9lb 12oz and approx 22-23 inches. Overall he is on the skinny size. He fit pretty well in Huggies newborns until recently. They fit pretty low on his hips now, leave red marks, and he has had 4-5 poo leaks with one major blowout in the last few days. I tried to size up to Huggies 1 yesterday but it seems loose around the legs and had several leaks, 1 poo and 2 pee out the legs. Had some samples so tried Millie Moon then Hello Bello. Both leaked pee out the back. Coterie was next, seemed to fit better/smaller around the waist but small pee leak out one leg. Went out and bought pampers 1 because their newborn size seemed to fit smaller than Huggies when we used a few that were given to us. Waiting to see how that goes but wondering if anyone has ideas on brands that either run larger in newborn or smaller in size 1 because I feel like I’m just throwing spaghetti at the wall trying to find something that works and am very over the leaks. We have 1-2 each of Parasol 1, Cuties 1, and Mamma Bear 1 that I haven’t tried yet too. submitted by /u/mylittleponymatt to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

COTERIE HAS TO BE A SCAM
Guys, I’m convinced Coterie has to be an absolute scam and any positive advertising is absolutely planted and paid for. I’m actually shocked. I am so PISSED that I fell for this company, that I am absolutely MOVED to write a scathing review on this beautiful Saturday morning to warn every parent out there to NOT purchase these stupid fucking diapers. My babe is 7.5 months old and is a big time night wetter. He’s a tummy sleeper and eats one 7 ounce bottle before bed and one 7ounce bottle around 2-4am, or sometimes sleeps through. We have had so many issues with him soaking through in the middle of the night, so I have tried almost every nighttime diaper & sposie pads. I usually have to use 2 sposie pads, sizing up, etc! I don’t mind changing his diaper in the middle of the night, and I will if he soaks through, but sometimes when I feed him, he will be completely dry and I’ll be like alright he’s good. The issue is it’s happening without me knowing, like it doesn’t seem to bother him much and I’ll only notice when I go to change him in the morning and he’ll be a little wet (usually by his belly area). Which of course, makes me feel bad even though he was sleeping fine being wet. Everyone recommended Coterie saying it’s the most absorbent diaper yet… so I finally caved. When I tell you the absolute shock I felt when I went into my baby’s room this morning, picked him up, only to think that I SOMEHOW FORGOT to put a diaper on him. He was ABSOLUTELY SOAKED (this was after 9 hours), like everywhere, front, back, down the legs, sleep sack, mattress, etc (not just a little in the front like it has been in the past). No absorption in site. His diaper no longer felt like a diaper. The structure of the diaper had completely broken down and left sticky film all over his body. I have NEVER experienced this with any other diaper even when he has soaked through in parts- they’ll feel full, but the structure of the diaper remains the same. I could feel the wetness from the outside. Like what the ACTUAL fuck. I feel like I got scammed and stunned at how bad these diapers are…buyer BEWARE. It literally felt like I had put a sposie pad on him and nothing else. submitted by /u/thatswhatshesaid___1 to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Peeing through the night????
Hi, I am a FTM to an amazing little 5.5 month old boy and I’m turning to the internet for wisdom as this little boy can’t possibly be the first baby on earth with this problem and I’m out of ideas. My baby currently wakes up 3x a night, I am not looking for ways to help him STTN or sleep training recommendations so feel free to skip that. He’ll usually just eat and go right back to sleep, I’m not working rn so I don’t mind this. What I do mind is that he seems to pee through his diaper, pajamas, and sleepsack every single night. Here’s what I’ve tried, and nothing helps. I change his diaper after every night feed now. I can sometimes prevent a leak to the pjs this way. We’ve tried two diapers. Peed through both. I read that babies sometimes pee more when they’re cold, but at this point in summer the room is 78°F with the AC going on low and the ceiling fan on so I don’t think he’s cold. We’ve tried Huggies little snugglers. Costco, and I even went for a trial pack of Coterie. Pees through all of them. I know Huggies has overnight diapers but they only start at size 3 and we’re probably somewhere around 15lbs so not there yet. Tonight we’ve already gone through two sets of pjs and sleep sacks and it’s only 3am (he peed through when he woke up for feedings #1 and #2) and I’m at my wits end. We have an overnight trip coming up to the mountains this weekend and I really don’t know how we’re gonna survive if he wets all of his sleep sacks in one night. submitted by /u/california1331 to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

COTERIE DIAPERS— review
When I first started using these I was annoyed because I was getting blowouts and I had to buy the diapers months at a time and then I realised— They send you free packets of diapers when you complain via text like instantly You have to size up when blowouts start— they run small. Like, my baby is size 3 and she’s 12.5 lbs. After I solved for those things I can’t live without them now. Now that I’m in Canada and can’t get them anymore I have to constantly be looking out for diaper rash development. Pampers really suck. The rest of the “healthy” diapers aren’t soft either or absorbent. Coterie really are the best. Pros: Soft as a cloud. It’s even nice to put them on your baby. Hard to screw up what side your putting on, which when they’re screaming, really matters. No leaks or blowouts ever (with correct size). Zero signs of diaper rash One of the healthiest diapers out there. Check out their EWG approval ratings for both diapers and wipes. Downside is that they’re expensive, upside is that they’re so absorbent you go through less diapers. submitted by /u/liketurtleswaddle to r/BabyBumps [link] [comments]
