Coterie Diapers

I’m currently considering doing cloth diapers at home and using disposables ... keep hearing a lot about Coterie disposable diapers, but I honestly can’t.... I’ve also looked into Kudos diapers, but I didn’t see a... would transition fully into cloth diapers.

I was having this problem with my son as well until I sized up in either coterie or kudos diapers. He’s wearing size 5 and I have only had one leak through since putting him in size 5. Might try size up one or two sizes, or buy the inserts. I did that as well while we finished the other sizes and that worked. I used the sposie brand.

My baby was waking up wet every morning, we started using coterie diapers at night and he never leaked through again.

I use organic cheaper diapers for the day I get from Amazon and coterie only for nap and night time they are the most absorbent so baby stays asleep

Ive tried everything with my son, sizing up, different brands, using night time diapers, pullup over a diaper. NOTHING worked but coterie brand diapers. I only use them at night and i buy them at whole foods.

I honestly love millie moon diapers! The tabs aren’t stretchy which sucks, but they’re the cheapest “crunchy mom” diaper out there. My next fav is Parasol. More expensive but overall liked better. I haven’t even tried Coterie as that price is just no where near feasible to me to spend $1+ per diaper��

once my girl started sleeping through the night about half the time she would soak through and I’d have to clean the whole bed the next morning. I started using Coterie diapers, which are expensive, but I don’t use them during the day, just at nighttime. Since using them she hasn’t leaked through a single time overnight. Coterie diapers and wipes are the cleanest on the market. Take a look into all the chemicals they place in pampers, etc; it’s crazy.

How frequently are you changing this brand diaper? They’re so absorbent but having the baby sit in pee long enough to fill it seems a bit off. anyone having issues with coterie diapers? it works well with my first, but with my second who is ~14 lbs, based on coterie's measurements, we would need a size 2 or maybe a size 3 diaper. no matter which size or what we do (fold the top, make sure the bottom flaps are out, tape it diagonal and not straight across, etc.), the diapers leak up back or by the thigh! coterie sent us size 3 PANTS to try which didnt consistently work either. then they even suggested trying SIZE 4 or SIZE 5 diaper?! my oldest is a size 5 diaper. no WAY the baby is a size 4 or 5. that's insane and i can't believe they would suggest that. what other alternatives have worked for you? really looking for a clean good quality night time diaper! submitted by /u/HeavyChocolate0 to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

I was gifted a large set of Coterie diapers, and now after using them for my baby they are unfortunately by far my favorite we’ve tried. The cost of them is beyond silly though imo, so now I’m on the hunt for a dupe, curious if anyone has any recs? The reasons I love them: - They are very absorbent and still seem to keep my boy dry at the same time, which has made them especially great for overnight when we hit those 3 hour/4 hour sleep stretches. - I haven’t had any leaks with them, no blow outs etc… and this is roughly 2 months of use on and off - The closure/waist style on them seems to be especially good for my baby’s shape and fits him well. Diapers I’ve tried: - Millie moon, hated these the most, idk if we had the wrong size or what, maybe their sizing is different than other diaper brands, but the leaks were NON stop. They have a weird feel to them too, and generally weird fit around the waist for my baby. - Rascals, tried a sample and liked them from the two I tried but they are impossible to find near me. - Pampers swaddlers, these are okay, definitely had leaks here and there, not as absorbent. - Huggies little snugglers, fit my baby great, no leaks, but they are very thin and I feel bad leaving them on him for long stretches. - Huggies skin essentials, seemed promising because they feel thicker to the touch, but didn’t have any better absorbency than the little snugglers. - Parasol, really like the idea of these, they are decently absorbent, not as good as coterie but better than the others I’ve tried. They also have a nice soft texture and we’ve only had one leak with them. Problem though is that the closure on them is very weird, it doesn’t wrap around my babies waist but closes at the sides instead, which then causes them to dig into his thighs. Really sucks about the weird closure. Anyway, curious what anyone thinks, I know every baby is different but if you also liked coterie, what other diapers have you liked? I think primarily I’m looking for that same level of absorbency as coterie, this is my first baby so I have no point of comparison, but I suspect I have a heavy wetter on my hands. Hello! We have a 2 month old daughter that is now just a bit over 11oz. We have been using Coterie and Millie Moon since she was a newborn and were mostly fine but kept sizing up and she is now in a size 2 due to blowouts. The problem we are having is that she is still blowing out the size two now even though she is well within the weight guided size (10-16lbs). Millie moon she was doing great in a size one and still great in a size two zero blow outs but Coterie just can’t seem to hold it in. The back is fine but the netting around the thighs is not holding much in. The diaper already looks so big on her I would hate to try a size three as I feel it would be way too big. Could this just be a defective pack or is sizing up to 3 (14-24lbs) the right option in this case? Curious if anyone else experienced the same issue around the thighs with these. I’ve been getting so many targeted ads for all of them (Alppi, Coterie, Dyper, Hello Bello, Honest, Kudos, Millie Moon). In my head, they’re just diapers. Babies stay in a diaper for a couple of hours until the next change, they’re a short-lived consumable item, there is no need to be expensive. We’ve been using coterie diapers since my son was born, he is now 15 months old. He just started getting diaper rash and hasn’t ever really had it before this frequently. I asked ChatGPT and it told me that they did an ingredient change to a formula with less cotton and could be causing the rash. Anyone else have similar issue lately ? Thinking of switching to Kudos or Healthy baby. Or have considered the Joonya on Amazon. My last post about being at my wits end at blowouts with Coterie diapers was met with so many (mostly kind) suggestions, the biggest one being to size up. We did immediately size up to a size 3 in Coterie (6 mo, 16 lbs), which seems to be a better fit. We also got Huggies overnight diapers, and tried out the Huggies Skin Essentials all in the *proper size*. However, we are still waking up every.single.morning. with poop/liquid through her onesie and sleep sack. She sleeps on her tummy and tends to move around a lot. It is always on her tummy usually and out the sides. We have tried three diapers now with no luck, do I need to get an even bigger size? Wear the diaper backwards? We even tried waking her up in the middle of the night to change her and she was NOT HAPPY, so I don't want to make a habit of it. I even had her pediatrician watch us put the diaper on to ensure this was not user error. Is this just our fate? Do I just accept that it's a daily laundry problem and move on? Any additional suggestions are appreciated!! UPDATE: It's been nearly a month and we have found what (mostly!) works. 1) We tried Pampers Swaddlers for daytime and they gave her the most horrible rash- we had to get steroid creams from the doctor just to caIm it down .We did size up to size 4 Coterie and 98% of the time, they are holding in blowouts now!! 2) We are doing size 4 huggies overnights with a posie liner and IT IS WORKING. no more waking up with a soaked sleep sack! This group has been so helpful in the past, hoping for suggestions here. We have been using Coterie diapers since our daughter was a newborn. She is now almost 6 months and in size 2 of their diapers. Every. Single. Time. she poops it is either up the back of the diaper or out the sides/front. Even for not big ones, it leaks onto her clothes or sleep sack. I don't think it's a sizing issue because it happened when she was in size ones as well. It might just not be the right fit for her. Hello, future, soon to be, and already dads! When our baby was on the way, I tried to find out what the formula and diapers will cost. After all, this is one expensive journey, and it's good to be prepared! There are multiple estimates out there that vary widely, so I always wanted to see what it will actually cost. That is when an idea to track it all came up. When my daughter was born, I became a man possessed. Not by sleep deprivation. Not by baby wipes. By data. 🍼 Every bottle fed. 💩 Every diaper changed. 📈 Every ounce tracked — for 14 straight months. There are multiple apps on appstores that you can use to replicate it. Me and my wife used an app called 'Baby Tracker' by Nighp Software for iOS. Free version is absolutely enough, unless ads bother you or you need watch integration. Ads are not intrusive though and apple watch screen is too small to bother with in when you're in the middle of changing diapers anyway, so stick with free version. Now, for the data. Here’s what it actually costs. 1. Formula Over the first 14 months, our baby drank 10,876 ounces of milk. That is roughly 322 liters or 85 gallons. Milk consumption chart Some notes: Around 4 months, we started purees and food other than milk. Around 8-9 months, we peaked with milk consumption with baby eating around 35 ounces a day Around 8-9 months, we started feeding her more and more of what we ate, with that trend accelerating once the baby went off formula after 1st birthday. Milk cost Now for the cost calculation. This can vary a lot based on what formula you're using. We were using Hipp formula that tends to cost around $45 for 800g. It takes around 4.3 g of that formula to prepare 1 oz of milk. 1 gram of formula = $0.05625 or 5.625 cents 4.3 grams of formula = $0.241875 or 24.1875 cents So it costs 24.1875 cents to prepare 1 oz of milk Organic whole milk is $5 for 64 oz, so $0.078125 or 7.8125 cents So with these assumptions: Cost of milk per ounce This is the monthly cost: Cost of milk calculation For a total cost of $2829 for formula and $79 for whole milk for a grand total of $2908. Notes: Baby actually drank 85.6% of served milk, or $2489 worth of it It means $419 basically put down the drain. You can potentially get some savings if you prepare less milk at a time to avoid spoilage, but you risk baby crying in the middle of the night waiting for more milk while you try to save a dollar here or there - carefully weight your choices haha 2. Diapers Over the first 14 months, the baby went through 3349 diapers. Diapers changed by month Some notes: We primarily used Huggies with wetness indicator which was super helpful. A few times, we've used diapers without it, and it was a bit of a guessing game as to when it was necessary to change the diaper. We always changed the diaper when dirty. When it was wet, we estimated how full it was, without trying to test the limits. We'd rather change a few more diapers than deal with leaks. I guess if you pushed the diapers closer to the limit, it could decrease the numbers but you risk a diaper rash and an uncomfortable baby (good diaper cream is expensive). The jump in month 12 is due to a nasty norovirus that went through the daycare. It hit children, staff, AND parents. Don't ask... Fun data points: 18 - Most diapers changed in a day. That was when the baby was 4 days old. We were then informed by the pediatrician that we could perhaps try relaxing a bit and change the diapers less frequently. 14 - Most diapers changed in a day after we realized there is no need to change it that frequently. That was in the period when baby got norovirus and there were many dirty diapers. 2246 - Wet only diapers 1103 - Dirty/Mixed diapers Diapers cost There are many different brands for every budget. We stuck to Huggies from the beginning because these worked the best for us. You can look for deals on big sizes on ebay, use subscribe and save on amazon, stock up on black friday, prime day, etc, buying for weeks/months ahead. Based on our estimated, a blended cost of one diaper in this time was around 27 cents, or $0.27. Using that for calculation, this is what I get: Diaper cost by month Total cost is $904 for 14 months. Total Cost - Formula, milk, and diapers Between formula, milk, and diapers, it all comes down to about $3812 for the first 14 months. That does not include wipes, diaper cream, lotions, body wash, clothes, any other foods like purees, finger foods, and a lot of other things. Please remember this is just one data point for one baby on one type of milk and one kind of diapers. The cost of diapers can easily double if you go for something fancy like Coterie. This kind of tracking isn’t for everyone. But for me? It helped turn chaos into clarity. I've always liked tracking various data points in my life and although it wasn't always easy, my wife and I stuck to logging everything all this time for our baby. We have a 2nd baby on the way and we're planning to track its numbers for comparison so expect me back in some time! Has anyone else done something similar? Have you arrived at similar numbers? Anyone else not impressed with Coterie diapers?? I tried them for my LO and #1 they are SO expensive, #2 they didn’t hold moisture any better than regular old pampers swaddlers, #3 any time I’ve done coterie overnight my baby has woken up more often than she has when she has on pampers swaddlers. I am getting seriously targeted by coterie ads, specifically claiming they help babies sleep through the night. Has anyone found this to be true? I have a 6 week old who only pees at night and immediately lets me know when her diaper is wet. She’s so sleepy at night that after I change her she only nurses for a few minutes. Guys, I’m convinced Coterie has to be an absolute scam and any positive advertising is absolutely planted and paid for. I’m actually shocked. I am so PISSED that I fell for this company, that I am absolutely MOVED to write a scathing review on this beautiful Saturday morning to warn every parent out there to NOT purchase these stupid fucking diapers. My babe is 7.5 months old and is a big time night wetter. He’s a tummy sleeper and eats one 7 ounce bottle before bed and one 7ounce bottle around 2-4am, or sometimes sleeps through. We have had so many issues with him soaking through in the middle of the night, so I have tried almost every nighttime diaper & sposie pads. I usually have to use 2 sposie pads, sizing up, etc! I don’t mind changing his diaper in the middle of the night, and I will if he soaks through, but sometimes when I feed him, he will be completely dry and I’ll be like alright he’s good. The issue is it’s happening without me knowing, like it doesn’t seem to bother him much and I’ll only notice when I go to change him in the morning and he’ll be a little wet (usually by his belly area). Which of course, makes me feel bad even though he was sleeping fine being wet. Everyone recommended Coterie saying it’s the most absorbent diaper yet… so I finally caved. When I tell you the absolute shock I felt when I went into my baby’s room this morning, picked him up, only to think that I SOMEHOW FORGOT to put a diaper on him. He was ABSOLUTELY SOAKED (this was after 9 hours), like everywhere, front, back, down the legs, sleep sack, mattress, etc (not just a little in the front like it has been in the past). No absorption in site. His diaper no longer felt like a diaper. The structure of the diaper had completely broken down and left sticky film all over his body. I have NEVER experienced this with any other diaper even when he has soaked through in parts- they’ll feel full, but the structure of the diaper remains the same. I could feel the wetness from the outside. Like what the ACTUAL fuck. I feel like I got scammed and stunned at how bad these diapers are…buyer BEWARE. I recently had my baby in January, but a big question for me during my pregnancy was which diapers I needed to stock up on before she arrived! Especially with COVID, I felt like I needed to be prepared in advance so that I wouldn't have to run to Target at the last minute if we needed more diapers or a different size. Hopefully my experience will be helpful for you all. Well, I fell for Coterie's minimal, millenial-friendly marketing (they hooked me with targeted ads on Instagram). I thought that the significantly more expensive diapers (which you can only buy in packages of a month's worth of diapers) and glowing reviews from mommy bloggers meant that they would be noticeably better than the big name diaper companies. NEWSFLASH: they're not! In fact, they're worse in most ways. I can only assume that they're paying for the accolades because they did not deliver on any of their claims. Here are the nice things about the diapers: The material is noticeably higher quality than your standard Pampers or Huggies. They do seem to wick moisture away from the skin better than other diapers, but my baby still got a bit of a rash. Once I started using diaper cream with every change, I didn't notice a difference in rash incidence between Coterie and Pampers. They look good (plain white) and the packaging and website are more hip. But the many cons: They're EXPENSIVE! The company claims that you actually end up spending less because you don't have to change your baby as much with their diapers. This was not true at all for our baby. We still had to change her every couple hours. We had tons of blowouts... Like MULTIPLE per day and night. I was changing her pajamas at least once and sometimes even the swaddle or sleep sack would be soiled. Twice I had to change the sheet on her bassinet. Once we had to wash the BabyBjorn bouncy chair cover. Multiple times I had to change my clothes! I tried sizing up but the issue continued. When we ran out of Coterie diapers (more on that below), I bought some Pampers Swaddlers and had zero blowouts on the first day!!! We maybe will have one blowout every couple days now that we've switched to Pampers, but they're minor compared to before. They lure you into a subscription with a 10% discount but then they don't deliver the next shipment on time, and you're SOL if you need more diapers before your scheduled shipment date. In our first month, I realized we were going to run out before the first 4 weeks was up (that's the default since they claim you're getting a month's worth of diapers), and I moved our shipment date from February 4th up to February 1st (which was the soonest they'd allow--this was the third week of January). They didn't ship my diapers until February 6th, not even meeting the originally scheduled date. We had run out for the week leading up to that and had no way to expedite or get the Coterie diapers sooner. Customer service was no help and took a couple days to respond to my inquiry about why the shipment hadn't gone out yet. You have to buy a month's worth of diapers at a time. This doesn't make sense for newborns who are growing so quickly! If you need to move up to the next size in the middle of the month, you've wasted about $40, and you'll have to use other diapers that are available locally while you wait for Coterie to ship the diapers to you. As I mentioned above, they just didn't have the longevity that I was expecting. Our delicate flower will happily sit in her own filth if we let her, but the Coterie diapers just couldn't stand up to her pee/poo frequency (hence the blowouts). They're just not as absorbent as Pampers, and there's no way a single diaper lasted for her overnight. So that's my story! I haven't tried anything else except for Pampers Swaddlers since that's what our hospital used, but I'm now much more open minded to the big name diaper brands.
