If we do get a sequel from IOI, I hope Q starts looking into more textile engineering.
It's all well and good that he's a dapper gentleman scientist who enjoys men's fashion design on the side, but it seems like such an obvious route for him to combine his two passions: Making fashionable clothing that has hidden functions. Imagine, bulletproof suit jackets, or Q learning from Slovakia and making sure that Bond is always wearing a parachute on his missions from now on. Imagine if we could choose between a few different outfits for Bond for each mission, each with its own unique feature. Maybe one outfit makes him a bit more resilient in fights. Maybe another one includes a grappling hook for accessing hidden routes. It would be a fun step-up from Hitman, where we have a whole equipment slot in the loadout screen dedicated solely to picking 47's starting outfit for the mission and most of the time, the only difference between his suits is how good he'll look in your photos. But most of all, I think I'd be down just to watch Q go on about how he manages to build form and function into each outfit. Whoever writes the descriptions for the outfit selections at IOI is doing a fantastic job of selling me clothes I'll never wear. submitted by /u/campingcosmo to r/007FirstLight [link] [comments]

I rank every Special Hero based on their art/design (Year 9)
Alright, time to rank all of the Year 9 Special Heroes. I remember not being enthusiastic about this batch of Special Heroes from what I remember, but I am curious to see if this preconception will stick around to the very end. But before I do, I think it's necessary that I bring up the disclaimer once again: DISCLAIMER: If you disagree with something, that's perfectly fine. Please don't be an asshole about it in the comments section, just because I ranked someone higher or lower than you think that person's appearance "deserves". Everyone has different opinions, after all. Got it? Good. Now, time to begin... Total Rankings Easter Veyle is very cute. I like how the design borrows some elements from her casual attire from Engage. The special art is also gorgeous, especially the grass that spawns below her; I think that's very wholesome and sweet. So I'll start off with an A-Tier with Easter Veyle. Great start. Easter Eitr...The giant, black, floppy ears are hilarious. I know a lot of people hate this one for the reasons you'd expect, but I don't think that's what's going on here; what I see is that she's more or less emulating her adult self's Easter design (on the Karla Harmonic) while adding her own elements to make her look very cute. And I think they captured her personality and cuteness well, so I'll give her an A-Tier for that. Easter M_e is cute, but the colors are very bright and way too in your face. I'm also not a huge fan of the design or the combat art, so I'm gonna say... C-Tier, honestly. I was gonna say B for her, but now that we have the brand new art (you can tell when I actually started ranking these lmao), this variant is pretty lackluster in comparison... Easter Plumeria (& Olivia), this is the REAL sexualized Easter alt. Design-wise, I don't hate it, though; Plumeria's design is way better than fucking Easter Triandra's art, and Olivia having a white color scheme to contrast Plumeria's black is a neat idea. The combat art is fine though, so I'll say B-Tier. Easter Lon'qu... Design-wise, he's kinda dull. Plus, the dark colors and the bright colors don't blend very well together here. The combat art is pretty, but I'm not impressed by it, either, so... C-Tier...? I don't know, I don't really care. Young Leo is cute. With all of these younger variants, I do like that they removed the armor they had and gave them regular clothes instead. However, that's about all Leo has going for him, as well as the decent special art, so...uhhh...B-Tier. Young Camilla, I love the sort of Victorian-style dress. It's very pretty. The combat art is also kinda funny, with the way she's swinging that axe, especially in the special art. So you know what? A-Tier. Her design really did grow on me a little. Young Elise...isn't that much different from the regular Elise design-wise. Sure, I like the braided hair rings, and I do think it's funny how small she is compared to the others, so I'll give her a B-Tier for that, but I really wish they did a bit more with her design... Young Male Corrin (& Female Corrin)... I mean, they're alright. I find it funny how they're finally actually wearing shoes for once, though there's not much else to say regarding their design or their combat art or anything. Female Corrin, I guess, is a bit cuter since I like the dress, but I think Young Camilla does the dress thing better, so...also a B-Tier Young Xander is okay. I'm not crazy about this design though, honestly... I'm also a bit mixed on the combat art, mostly the special art's effects, but I can kind of see the vision if I squint hard enough. Mmm...B-Tier. Aside from Camilla, who I really liked, the Young Nohrians are all okay. Groom Seliph is alright. Nothing special art or design-wise, but I'll give him a B-Tier since there's nothing I dislike about it. Downside is, there's not much else I really can say that I like, either. It's just...Groom Seliph, I guess. But then with Bridal Larcei... THEN it's more fun. I like the purple color scheme, and the exotic dress patterns and tiara to go with it. The fact that she's also using a candlestick as a lance is also funny. I also love the special art, even if it is a bit busy. Despite that, I really do like this bridal alt, so A-Tier. Bridal Tine is cute. It's a simpler outfit design, but the added whites on top of her black color scheme contrast very well together. I also like the flowers replacing a part of the ribbons, and the mini veils in her hair; that's pretty cute. B-Tier. Bridal Julia (& Ishtar), very beautiful dress designs, but I don't like that they have the exact same color scheme as one another; they end up blending together when they really shouldn't. The two different colors and effects of the special art, however, I do like, which helps bring a bit more color variety. Even still, I'll say A-Tier. It would've been perfect if HACCAN had made their color schemes a bit more distinct. Bridal Lana, I like the blue color scheme of her dress. I'm not a fan of her face, however, since she looks a bit derpy...but B-Tier. It's another simple design like Seliph, so again, not much else to say. Summer Nino is cute. I like the giant purple inner tube. It's not as funny as Summer Gullveig's snake inner tube, but I'll give her a B-Tier for that inner tube alone. That and the large dolphin in the special art. She's alright otherwise. Summer Lapis, I really like the idea of her and Donnel leaning more into the "fisherman" concept, with Donnel using a net and Lapis a harpoon. The fisherman's hat, combined with the harpoon, the more modest outfit, and the box she has to keep her catch in, are all fun details. The octopus in the special art is also funny. Yeah, A-Tier. Summer Palla, whoa, I forgot just how much detail they put into the lighting. I don't hate it, though. The giant leaf fan is funny, though I'm not really impressed with her design; it's kind of average, I think. B-Tier. The gold accessories with the fan could fool me into thinking this was part of a Desert banner. Summer Celica (& Serra)...They're pretty, but not as pretty as I think they should be. Design-wise, they're a bit too simple; a two-piece with scarves and sarongs. And the combat art doesn't impress me, mostly since the special art just changes up the water particles and does little else. In my heart, as much as I am happy that Celica finally got a proper seasonal, this is gonna have to be a B-Tier. Summer Fogado is awesome. I love the vibrant color scheme, the inner tube is funny (hey, just like Nino, which I guess makes sense since he can't swim), and the combat art is also spectacular, with a giant whirlpool surrounding him. Yeah, A-Tier. I really like it. Summer Yuri, eww... Somehow, he's both a masculine man and a pretty boy at the exact same time (or a "twunk" as others called him), and it does NOT blend well together. The abs, combined with how ridiculously detailed his feet are, are so gross and uncomfortable to look at. This is a D-Tier; sure, the special art effects are nice, but it's also WAY too busy and can't save a mediocre design with a terrible appearance. Summer Heiðrún... Uhh, honestly, without her bandages, Heiðrún looks pretty lackluster. I also do not like the water particles in the special art (oh, it's another sencha piece, that explains it). So honestly, I'm gonna say C-Tier. A big factor for Heiðrún's appeal to me were the bandages (or just how beautiful her kimono was in her New Year's alt), which leaves the Summer alt with basically nothing to offer. Summer Eikþyrnir is cool. I like the idea of making him into a lifeguard, with the safety ring, shades, and the little bag. I think his body proportion is a bit awkward compared to his other variants, so that brings it down for me. But I'll say B-Tier, mostly for the added effect of him putting on his shades in his special art. Summer Hapi (& Constance)...They're alright, I guess. Apparently, they're meant to be based on their post-timeskip outfits, and while I can see that with Hapi, I don't see that with Constance... I'm also not crazy about their designs, nor am I crazy about their combat art, though I like the detail of Constance in her "sunlight" mode via the damaged art. Eh, B-Tier; it's kind of mediocre, if I'm being frank. In fact, a lot of these Special Heroes so far are not that good... Summer Balthus, I'm not a fan of design-wise; it's just him in a speedo, and that's it. But he still gets an A-Tier for that special art alone. The giant shark is SO awesome. I really wish they added a bit more to his design than just a speedo and a few other accessories to go with it; he fell short of S-Tier for that reason. Maid Veronica is very cute. In fact, I haven't given one of these out yet, but I'll say S-Tier. First, adapting her new design into a maid dress works surprisingly well. Second, the combat art where she's pouring the tea in the attack art, the gorgeous special art particles, and having her trip in the damaged art has a lot of personality. Last, and certainly not least, did you know that the objects that she's carrying are the exact same ones seen in the Book VI Ending Movie? That's great attention to detail. Everything about her is just super wholesome, so S-Tier. Butler Felix is funny. The outfit is very nice and dapper, and him being as grumpy as ever makes it all the more hilarious. The combat art, I'm not a fan of, mostly due to the weird posing. I get that's because he has a tray in his other hand, but still, I don't like it. So I'll say B-Tier for Butler Felix. Maid Céline... Is this any different from her base form? Sure, there's the shorter dress and the swapped the colors of said dress, but that's literally all they did, alongside giving her a maid's headdress. The combat art is also not great, not the poses or the effects. So I'm gonna say C-Tier. The other three Célines are way better (oops, spoilers i guess lol). Maid Ingrid (& Nanna) are fine. I don't like that they have the exact same outfit with minor variations; that's kind of lazy. The designs aren't even that interesting, either. The combat art is alright, especially with that giant spoon that Ingrid has, so I'll give them a B-Tier for that. Otherwise, they're just dressed like maids, not much else. Butler Finn has the exact same problem as Maid Céline: not that much different from the regular Finn's design. The big cake cutter weapon is kinda funny, but it's a forgettable alt otherwise. I'm also not that big on the artstyle used to portray him, so...ehh, C-Tier. Gladiator "Marth" is alright. The combat art is pretty cool, but design-wise, it kind of just looks like the regular, disguised Lucina with gold armor and a tattered cape. I don't hate it, but I'm gonna say B-Tier; it's okay. Gladiator Chrom I like better. This is the closest we'll ever get to a non-Resplendent base Chrom that doesn't look off-model and wimpy, and they really captured his strength with the bulky armor, big muscles and abs, and the heavy armor. The combat art, again, is also really cool. Yeah, A-Tier. This is what Chrom's base form should've been more like. Gladiator Chulainn... Again, it's not that much different design-wise... The combat art is nice, as usual with these Gladiator alts, but the rest of I'm not a fan of. Honestly? C-Tier; he looks a lot wimpier than his base form, where he looked a lot more badass... Gladiator Fir (& Karla) is...fine. The art is decent, even if the special art doesn't really wow me as much as the damaged art does. As for the design, it looks kind of stupid to me... But because I like the particle effects in the damaged art and the different colored particles in the special art, I'll give them a B-Tier. Gladiator Ogma is awesome. The design doesn't take any creative liberties with his design, as per usual, but that special art RULES. The sheer power that he's unleashing is absolutely awesome, so I'll give him an A-Tier for that. If the design were a bit more unique or creative, it would've been an S for me. Halloween Nerþuz... More like Wedding Nerþuz, because if you had told me this was a Wedding alt, I would've fully believed you. It only vaguely resembles a Halloween alt with the minor additions like the bandages and the web tiara. Honestly, this design looks like they just added random shit on Nerþuz's original design and didn't know what to do with it... And the combat art isn't wowing me either, so... I'll say C-Tier. Sophia does the "corpse bride" thing way better. Halloween Peony is cute. The pumpkin motif is simple, but it does fit the Halloween theme quite well. So B-Tier. Halloween Skrimir... I don't get it. What is he even supposed to be dressed up as? It's also the exact same issues that I have with Halloween Nerþuz, where it feels like they just took his base form and slapped on some vaguely Halloween-themed colors and accessories, and it looks super messy. The combat art is fine, the meat is funny, but I'm giving him a C-Tier for that hideous and unfocused design. Intelligent Systems, next time you make a Halloween banner, pick a costume and stick with it, man! Halloween Freyja (& Eitr) is absolutely wholesome and beautiful. I LOVE the angel/devil motif, paired with their respective color schemes; it works so well together. And that combat art is absolute cinema. I'm gonna say S-Tier; I haven't given out enough of those yet. There's a lot of details, like the little "devil" butterflies, the Freyr balloon, the balloons' expressions in the damaged art, and I think they work very well. S-Tier. Halloween Ranulf... Why does the artstyle make the images look like they're low-quality? The combat art is also a bit too simple for my tastes. But...I like the pirate costume, so he gets a B-Tier for that. I think you could've done this a little cleaner, though... Ninja Female Shez is alright. A pretty simple redesign of an alt since she already kind of fits the "ninja" vibe, but I'll say B-Tier, if only for the gorgeous autumn leaf particles in the special art. That's all she has going for her, though. Ninja Yunaka, I like the cherry blossom scarf; I think that's a cute detail. That, and replacing her regular hair stars with ninja ones. The cherry blossom petals in the special art are also pretty, so I'll say B-Tier as well. Another simple one. Ninja Hríd, oh hey, he's got a Nifl dragon form mask too. Same deal as the previous two; decent, albeit samey design, great combat art, B-Tier...you get it. Ninja Gullveig (& Kvasir)... You know, having Gullveig's snakes hold her loose sleeves up as well as those giant scrolls is kinda funny. I also like the snakeskin pattern on her threads. Kvasir's design is a bit more generic though, even if I like the very shiny shuriken weapon. Oh, it's even glowing in the special art alongside Gullveig's hand. You know what? I'm warming up to this; I'll give them A-Tier. Ninja Male Shez is cool. While his design is not that much more distinct from his base form, his combat art is absolutely awesome. Especially that damaged art, though not because of the fanservice, but because of just how much detail goes into the stuff around it, like his clothes being sliced off. So I'll give him an A-Tier for that. Certainly makes up for that atrocious Summer Yuri art... Christmas Gatekeeper is an S-Tier; look at all of those adorable doggies and kitties! They're even helping him out for the festival and in combat, that's really wholesome. Heck, the combat art itself is so silly that it wraps right around into being awesome. Daisuke Izuka knew the assignment, and he knocked it out of the park once again. Christmas Seiðr, I like the starry night shawl, I think that fits her design combined with the Christmas feel, but the rest of the design is really ugly and does not blend well together at all. Personally, this would've been better if they leaned way more into the blue and white color scheme instead of trying to force in a bunch of red and green in there. Combined with the lackluster combat art, she gets a C-Tier. Christmas Alfred is cute. A simple Christmas-themed design, and so is the combat art, but he looks pretty good. B-Tier. Christmas Ivy (& Camilla), damn, what a gorgeous pair of designs. For once, (adult) Camilla actually looks very modest, and the colors are very beautiful... My only complaint is that the special art should've added a bit more to it, but otherwise, I'll give them an A-Tier. A very well-done Christmas pair. Christmas Zelkov, my goodness, he looks absolutely *handsome*. Having his entire outfit be black and white with a bit of green and gold is very bold, but it works very well in his favor. The giant sack of presents also fits his character, and the combat art, oh dear LORD, the combat art...the special art is absolutely gorgeous, AND they drew four unique frames (courtesy of Akira Egawa!)?! S-Tier. What an amazing Christmas alt, and I'm so sad that he was our last free "new" Special Hero given out. At least they went out with a bang, am I right? New Year's Heimdallr, oh god... The regular Heimdallr's design looks absolutely badass, and her New Year's variant looks so disgusting by comparison... The eyes look very creepy, the hair is really shiny for some reason, and the combat art is just...it's just bland! D-Tier, honestly;. Comparing Homare's previous work, I refuse to believe that this was even finished, like they didn't have time to polish it up... New Year's Váli is very cute. The cherry blossom kimono works with her pink color scheme. Also, the Baldr-colored flowers and accessories are a cute addition. The flower particles in the special art are also very cute. Yeah, A-Tier; I really like it. New Year's Sedgar is...fine. Compared to the other characters on this banner, he's kind of just...there. The bow having the colors of the Coyote's Men is a neat idea, but otherwise, he's just a C-Tier. New Year's Baldr (& Höðr) is an S-Tier; I LOVE the vibrant color scheme! The giant parasol, the special art particles of each god using their respective powers, and Baldr protecting her sister in the damaged art is very wholesome. As an additional note, I love how the angel sisters' kimonos have a repeating pattern on the edges, which looks like the Ásgarðr sigil; that detail is very subtle, but I think it works out very well. Regardless, S-Tier. Oh boy, now we're getting into these bozos that have no distinct outfits... Ilian Mia... I like the special art effects, but that only gets her a C-Tier, because her outfit is pretty similar to her base form already; there's not much to say about her... Ilian Azura... Again, cool special art effects, but these alts are all the same; just Elibe Pegasus Knight outfits...C-Tier; I really don't care about these fucking alts. And I don't care about this! In fact, I don't like Ilian Minerva looks at all. The artstyle does not capture her personality, and her design isn't nearly as cool. In fact, just because of how much I dislike the artstyle of choice and how off-model she looks to me, Minerva gets a D-Tier. Fuck this. Ilian Hilda (& Florina)... I don't get this one, either. Hilda's design, again, is very uninspired, and that's literally JUST the base form of Florina but with very minor additions. I know the special art is nice and the artstyle is good, but who cares? C-Tier; it's boring as hell. If not for the good artstyle or combat art, I would've rated this an instant F-Tier. Maybe I was too harsh on the Thief banner after all... Valentine's Céline, alright, here we go. Now we're back on track: A very cute design, with a gorgeous dress, a cute bonnet, plus I love how they used elements from her casual outfit, namely the dress pattern and the butterfly bows. And the special art opening up to reveal a dessert role? That's really sweet (pun absolutely intended). A-Tier. Definitely the best of the Célines appearance-wise. Valentine's Hortensia is an S-Tier because THAT DRESS IS SO PRETTYYYY! The bright, vibrant colors, the bows from her casual attire, the Treat staff from Engage, oh my god, it's soooo cute! I love this Hortensia variant. Honestly, I think all of the Hortensias have such amazing alts, but this one wins by a landslide. nope, not biased at all Valentine's Louis is alright. Design-wise, it's mostly just his casual attire and not much else, meaning he's a bit generic compared to the girls. But I love the gorgeous special art, so I'll give him B-Tier for that (also, I don't get the lily joke; what's with him and lilies?). And finally, Valentine's Veyle (& Female Alear)... Yeah, you know? I haven't given out enough of these, I'll say S-Tier. Again, much like Hortensia and Céline, GORGEOUS dresses, I love how they're based on their casual outfits, I also love how they have flowers in the other's respective color schemes, either in their bouquets or on their heads... And that special art is beautiful, I love the colors and the particle effects. Plus, Alear defending her sister in the damaged art is really sweet. Well, that was all of the Special Heroes for this wave. If I had to pick one word to describe this batch, I would say "Mid". Unlike previous years, which had a lot of high highs but also low lows, most of the Special Heroes, appearance-wise, all seem...fine, to me, for the most part. There weren't a lot of units that I disliked, but also very few that I really loved. None of these units made it into SS or F-Tier, to really hit the point across! Also, I feel like, with each coming year, I'm starting to become a lot harsher towards these Heroes' appearances, mostly since, with how many we've gotten over the years, I kind of expect more out of them, or rather, I've established some standards as the game has evolved. And with this batch, I don't think that these artists have truly been giving it their all with these guys' art and/or designs. But maybe that's just reflecting me and my current enjoyment of the game, who knows? Either way, what do you think of this wave of Special Heroes? Feel free to agree and/or disagree with whatever you wish, as long as you keep it civil, please! Steven's Wedding (FrostedMeatloaf Remix)
Hello friends! After the recent posts discussing Steven and Connie's potential wedding, my brain was full of ideas. However, I'm not exactly talented in the art department, nor do I have the patience for writing fan fiction. However, I threw this together in a few hours with Canva and MS Paint. It's my first post here, so please be gentle haha. I marked the post as discussion because I think that is the closest, but I can absolutely change it. (Preemptive apology for the long post, any spelling errors, mistakes, and for not including your fav/otp.) I would love to hear your thoughts. Slide Descriptions: -Slide 1 You are cordially invited to the wedding of... Bride: Steven Quartz DeMayo Diamond Universe Groom: Senator Connie Maheswaran None of the art is done by me. All fan art will be cited at the bottom of the post. Anything else comes from the show/fandom wiki or Canva Elements. Slide shows Steven's Dream Wedding Binder as well as fan art of Steven dressed as Glinda from Wicked and Connie in her Spirit Morph Saga Outfit from the episode Open Book. It's a green top and bottom with a blue flowy cape. -Slide 2 *I use Bride and Groom here lightly. Steven is more often expressively girly, whereas Connie seems to explicitly opt for more practical or tomboyish things. I more imagine her in a super dramatic cape and/or ruffled bustle... sash... thing. Beautiful and dapper. It would also serve as an homage to Ruby and Sapphire's wedding. Setting: Homeworld, When the invitation is extended to a whole planet, it's easiest to bring the party to them! Pictured is Homeworld from the beginning of the SU movie. I have also added in images of the Zooman ship Lar's ship and others from the series. -Slide 3 Maid of Honor: Amethyst Best Man: Pearl Officiant & Wedding Planner: Garnet Slide shows Garnet on her wedding day, Pearl singing "It's Over Isn't It", and fan art of Amethyst in a glittery purple dress. -Slide 4 Groom's Men: Jeff, Patricia, Peridot, and Bismuth Imagine the Groom's Men taking notes from Bismuth, drawing inspiration from different styles of armor real and fantastic. Peridot decides they count as morps even though hers still winds up close to a tux. Bridesmaids: Spinel, Nephrite, Lapis, and Kiki Steven, Spinel, and Kiki take the lead on the dresses. Glitter, bedazzling, etc., etc. It's a sleepover craft situation. On the morning of, the professionals step in to 'perfect' the vision. I tried to order their names in the order I would pair them to walk together. I would likely have them come out in the order of: 1. Spinel & Jeff 2. Kiki & Bismuth 3. Patricia & Nephrite 4. Lapis & Peridot Each character is pictured, Peridot is a fan art in a suit offering a flower. Try to imagine Jeff after Connie gives him years of mentoring. -Slide 5 There's always a chance Amethyst and Pearl spiral together while studying human traditions around bachelor/bachelorette parties (and weddings in general along with Garnet). I imagine the parties happening the night before the nuptials. When Pearl asks Bismuth her thoughts, she doesn't want to be a party pooper and say she doesn't want to hang out with Yellow Diamond for a whole night. (Amethyst, Steven, BD, and company mostly just vibe at their party.) Much to Bismuth's dismay, YD spends much of the night alternating her attention between Bismuth and the humans. Turns out, Yellow is curious about some of the weapons her gems had faced in the war. She compliments Bismuth and offers some of her essence for Bis to use back home at her armory. It doesn't fix everything, of course. It's a step in the right direction though. The slide shows Yellow Diamond's sauna and Blue Diamond's pool area. Steven is shown levitating down to the floor in BD's area. Yellow Pearl and CG Pearl are also shown walking in the entry to YD's sauna. The Wall Gems whisper as they pass. -Slide 6 The Aforementioned Professionals: The Pebbles For all the hair, make up, tailoring, and touch up services you could need. The Bloomin' Onion (Flower Girl)... Onion as the Flower Girl The Ring Bearer: Jasper The Pebbles are shown alongside an ominous looking Onion, a basket of flowers is added in to be next to him. I've also added some fan art of Jasper in a suit. -Slide 7 The Ushers/Guestbook Attendants: Lars and the Off Colors Photography and Videography: Blue and Yellow Pearl Ceremony Orchestral Duo: Sadie & Shep (Noted that Sadie and Shep are only in white because there are limited choices for images of them.) The listed characters are pictured, nothing too special on this slide. I also included Blue and Yellow Pearl's logo shown in the movie. -Slide 8 "Who presents this young woman to be married?" "We do." Dr. Maheswaran confidently proclaims it. Doug is grinning and nods along. "Who presents this young man to be married?" "We do." Greg and the Crystal Gems say it in union, sharing warm glances from their respective spots. "We do." (x4) The Diamonds and Uncle Andy also join in. Everyone is a bit confused, but their hearts are in the right place. The slide shows the characters mentioned in the above exchange. They are organized in an attempt to make it look like they are participating in the dialogue. -Slide 9 The Justices of the Peace: Nanefua and Blue Zircon As part of the ceremony, the couple opts to sign their wedding certificate in front of the guests. This is the first legal marriage to take place on Homeworld. Local journalists predict the trend will take off. Lemon Jade is squealing the whole time, she's hoping to be next! Nanefua and Blue Zircon are situated together. Lemon Jade is shown in her only appearance during Steven's first Homeworld ball. -Slide 10 "I now pronounce you married." My vision is Steven's gem begins to glow and encompasses him and Connie. Potentially, even a burst of rose petals, some sort of sign from Rose. Greg and Pearl lose it at this. The slide shows Steven and Connie's kiss at the end of Future as well as Pearl crying at the end of Future. -Slide 11 Catering: The Fryman's and the Pizza's "But it's a buffet, daaaaddyyy!" Jenny spends most of the time avoiding Kofi and inquiring about Homeworld's latest trends. She really just wants a nap though. That show last night was killer. Peedee realizes gem curiosity around eating is an untapped market for his food truck. He eventually is the first human to relocate to Homeworld He also opens up the first restaurant on Homeworld. He ends up doing a lot of firsts for humans on Homeworld, actually. Ronaldo spends the whole party looking for a gem gf. Some say he's still there looking. Pictured are the Fryman's and Kofi and Jenny Pizza. Peedee has dollar signs above his head, Ronaldo has hearts. Jenny is shown with a low battery symbol above her. -Slide 12 Dessert Catering: Lars and Blue Lace Agate (Lars can't leave Blue Lace to take care of such a big order alone. Honestly, for a lot of these, they are probably more the heads of a small team lol) The cakes have alternating layers of cream cheese frosting, biscuity cake, and various flavors of jams... jam buds! The slide shows Lars and Blue Lace as well as some of the treats from Spaceteries shown in the show. I also added a little jam jar picture. -Slide 13 Reception DJ: Sour Cream First Dance: Stevonnie debuts a new outfit/power/weapon. Use you imagination. Mr. Maheswaran do a father-daughter dance. I'm conflicted if Obsidian should make an appearance during Steven's dance with the Crystal Gem's. Either way, Alexandrite is there. Catches the Bouquet: Greg, Accidentally *The Zoomans boo at this.* It's party time. I've covered the Homeworld ballroom with confetti. Sour Cream is set up in a booth on White Diamond's old throne. There is fan art of Stevonnie in a pretty white and pink jumpsuit with bustle. Obsidian and Bismuth are imposed in a screenshot of the series finale. There are also images of Alexandrite and Doug Maheswaran near her. Below them, the Zoomans are shown disgruntled across from Mr. Greg in his tux with his hand extended towards a bouquet I've added in. He does not seem to notice what is happening. -Slide 14 Actual Wedding Crasher: Kevin "Crashes" the Party (with gem tech à la Merry and Pippin at Bilbo's Birthday Party): The Onion Gang They divert the attention away from Kevin and he is easily forgotten about. Pictured is the Onion Gang looking mischievous as ever. Some pebbles run towards them excitedly. Behind them, a roaming eye is upside down with firework images added to make it look like it has crashed. Behind them, Kevin seems to be sharing an uncomfortable moment with one of the wall gems who is curious about him. In the bottom right corner, I included part of the cover of Rebecca Sugar's new album with her characters she made for it. Just a fun little cameo. -Slide 15 One Last Surprise: The Krol Performs! Fluorite asks Volleyball to dance. I just think they're neat. Pearl has been too busy being the best Best Man to notice Mystery Girl is at the wedding. (Mystery Girl is only wearing white because of limited image options for her.) Mike Krol is shown to be performing, as in Last One Out of Beach City. Volleyball is shown with blush marks added to her cheeks with Fluorite beside her. Opposite of them are Pearl, still in her top has, and Mystery Girl (to me, she will always be Sabina). -Slide 16 Eats the Most: Amethyst & Famethyst "NO LEFTOVERS, NO MERCY!" "Hey Amethyst, I read that humans used to have rooms just for puking after eating!" Forever Alone All Night (And Not Happy About It): White Diamond After eons as their leader, and thousands of years in isolation, White Diamond is realizing she's not exactly approachable without the use of her powers (in either direction). It doesn't help she never realized Yellow and Blue are kind of a pair and Spinel is just so open... also, how ridiculous is it that a human tradition would make an entire color inappropriate?!? Pictured is a blushing White Diamond and a Amethyst Famethyst cuddle pile, one of them is meant to be burping on her. -Slide 17 Caught in a Compromising Position *ahem*: Bill Dewey & Holly Blue Agate/ Jamie & Emerald I think the voice of Emerald, Jinx Monsoon, would totally hook up with Jamie. *And/Or, Could switch the gems in my opinion too I have situated each couple in an attempt to look embarrassed or interrupted in some capacity. Holly Blue stands behind Dewey showing the diamond hand gesture. Emerald is behind Jamie in his silly poet costume. -Slide 18 Gets the Most Turnt: The Lazulis (Their first full reunion since SUF) Our Lapis goes on a self hate spiral. They start dismantling random things and building morps. Peridot is on the way to help! (Take care of them.. and maybe break stuff.) Jasper is a close second. She had been unaware the role of Ringbearer is usually reserved for human children prior to today. The Rubies, and other Era 1 Homeworld gems keep feeding her drinks and begging for war stories. The slide shows our Lapis looking into a puddle, disgruntled. Curly is also looking unhappy and Freckles looks sad. Peridot is indicated to be running towards them yelling, her finger is up. I added in an image of a metal water bottle as if her finger is using her powers to bring it along. An upset Jasper is shown along with the Rubies. -Slide 19 A Gift for the Happy Couple: A pair of spaceships that can merge together. The design is based on the glow bracelets back on Earth. The ships have been decorated... similarly... to human traditions. The Crystal Gem's, Pearl's Human Friends, and the Diamonds all collaborated on this. The controls are based on gaming controllers. I've done my best to use images of Connie's glow bracelet to make something of a ship and added some decor and a "Just Married" sign dangling off of it. I also added an image of Steven's gaming systems and Pearl with her human friends. -Slide 20 Bonus: Honeymoon on Jungle Moon The old Diamond base on the Jungle Moon has been rebuilt, secured, and renovated into a romantic getaway for the Newlyweds. The slide shows a screenshot of Stevonnie in the jungle moon base, I added some star lights and candles. Thanks for checking it out, hope you enjoyed!

Oh, and next week, I'll open up the second Special Heroes survey, with new additions and stuff, so stick around for that. Until then, byeeeee~!
Singles Facebook Groups with specific interests and male-to-female ratio is staggering
I had come across this single gamers Facebook group, and there's a requirement to post an intropost with certain hashtags along with it and your stats. It's mostly men obviously, but when a woman posts....it's hundreds of comments And these women's aren't thirst traps at all, just nicely attired women. One that caught my eye was in kind of a dapper-like, retro outfits with a vendor, vintage gaming shop she runs. I saw the rules and a lady admin had to post a meme of a woman posting an intro, and you see an army of men running to her DM's But hey that's par for the course, right? I mean social media exists for a reason. THe admin posted to ask permission in the comments first, or engage in the comments first before DM'ing, otherwise, she'll be swarmed with DMs in her friend request box. There was a mixed bag of opinions with men are like "Which is worse, partaking along with the other comments of 100s of other men asking, "My I DM you" just for the sake of following the rules vs. 100s of DMs in her inbox"? Another was taking the side of the ladies in a simp-like fashion, "I don't ever DM anyone without their permission, in fact, I don't know why guys do this, because it never occurred me to DM a woman here" It's a bit of a Catch-22. Pick your poision. Plus it's embarrassing to partake in the comments, especially when it's a PUBLIC group (your personal friends can see your participation) It's like socially, everything is stacked against the men on there. submitted by /u/FanTemporary7624 to r/ChristianDating [link] [comments]

I think I'm too boyish instead of masculine to be a butch.
So when I think of a butch person, I imagine this cool, nonchalant mysterious person who looks very handsome in a dapper outfit. I don't think that's me. I'm a dumbass and I laugh and smile a lot and I'm not really good at hiding my emotions. Most of the time I feel like an overly excited little boy who has the personality of a golden retriever. Is this a subgenre of butch or am I something else? I love being called handsome, I wear mens clothing and look pretty much like a guy at this point. In fact I look like the kinda butch who'd do thirst traps on tiktok or smth, but I'm not very serious and I like being silly. I don't like calling myself masc either because most masc lesbians give off a jock/fuckboy energy which I don't have. I don't like tomboy either because that's still somewhat too feminine for me. submitted by /u/moldy_bread3 to r/butchlesbians [link] [comments]

I am watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time: done with S3 and reporting back!
Hey hey guys, I finished season 3 a few minutes ago and I'm here to report back with my comments and impressions :) For those who have missed the previous episodes of my commentary, you can find them here: S1E1-S1E7 S1E8-S2E10 S2E11-S3E2 Let's get right into it: man... Faith is very annoying and she's only been here for 5mins I wish Kendra had survived and moved to Sunnydale instead :( the concept of a Watchers' retreat in the Cotswolds is sending me 🤣 are all Watchers British? It would make perfect sense Willow, Xander and the others have been pissing me off for a couple of episodes now. I get that they didn't know Buffy killed Angel after the spell came into effect, but even without that piece of information, surely they must have realised that Buffy has been through a fucking lot? Don't tell my girl that the should be having fun... she's grieving and trying to get back to her "normal" life already. None of them would be as strong as she is, in her place my man Giles is the only one who gets it... he knew something was up and worked his way through getting Buffy to open up I know this episode is literally called The Beauty and the Beast, but to me it looks like Angel is more in his Tarzan era what are Xander and Willow doing. WHAT ARE THEY DOING the Slayerfest slaps!! Mr. Trick and his dapper suit are very cool! I hope he's this season's villain, though it looks like it might be the Mayor instead teenager Giles is unhinged, I'm dying I know Joyce and Giles getting together would be Buffy's worst nightmare lol I like that Giles defended Buffy in front of the others but then told her in private how disappointed he was in her after the Angel thing... this is how you do it Buffy telling Xander that he only wants Angel dead because he's jealous... music to my ears SPIIIIIIKEEE!!!!!!!! the Joyce and Spike saga continues, and I thank the gods for it Angel's face when he saw Spike inside Buffy's house LMFAOOO "I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it." TELL THEM BABY. Spike is exactly how I like my men: down bad to the core CORDY!!! I had a heart attack, thought she'd died. She really didn't deserve any of this, and Oz didn't deserve it either Xander and Willow got on my nerves fuck this shit "We're not friends. We never were. And I can fool Giles, and I can fool my friends, but I can't fool myself. Or Spike, for some reason." I said oh I'm sure The Wish gave me anxiety. Buffy dying like that... it just doesn't feel right, don't put that kind of thought into the world although she looked amazing with that lip-scar and the whole outfit... wish she would slay me too Xander and Willow only make sense together as vampires, the writers could have stopped at that instead of ruining the relationships with Cordy and Oz (yes, I'm still salty) Giles and Angel's long awaited reunion, this hurts I love Oz... he's really great. I'm scared he will die a horrible death Angel is so dramatic, man, just get inside sigh Joyce. What the fuck are you doing not to sound like a 17th century European peasant, but witches are dangerous - I think compared to other humans with supernatural powers or even demons, they are more resourceful, they can use their power in many different ways and can potentially set off, well, anything for instance, I wonder if a spell would be able to make a vampire human again... or give Angel the opportunity to have sex without turning back into a psycho vampire lmfao in any case, very curious to see where this newfound power takes Willow I don't even know what an ice show is supposed to be but I sure as hell would have liked to see Buffy and Giles go together :( betrayal hurts x100 more when it comes from Giles 💔 HE GOT FIRED??? oh fuck off I mean the old guy said it himself, Giles loves Buffy like a father loves their child. my man is not going anywhere!! Xander and Faith???? Man what's going onnnn rectifying my earlier question. Are all Watchers attractive British men who will win: a 243yo vampire or a 18yo horny teenager GILES WITH A SWORD!! Xander and Cordelia are back to their pre-relationship banter btw. there's still hope #delulu I was warming up to her, but now I'm afraid Faith needs to go you know it's bad when Xander is 100% right and reasonable you know it's even worse when Angel has to chain you up and psychoanalyse you "she could have left me there to die, but she didn't" actually she was about to do exactly that, Buffy is way too nice to Faith rip Mr. Trick, I will miss your drip and your soothing voice every time Buffy cries I have to stare intently at the screen and hope I will get sucked into the story so that I may cradle her in my arms I LOVE VAMPIRE WILLOW they could have kept her, I mean she wasn't that bad, right :( she goes back to her world and gets instantly killed by Oz, this is no fun I've had enough, I'm gonna kill Faith myself something's not right here though, it feels like Angel is pretending to be Angelus (when he was tying Buffy up, he looked at her in an almost sweet way...?) AND I WAS RIGHT!! they were working together, oh I like this, I wish we had seen more of this the fact that Buffy hadn't realised before that Joyce and Giles did in fact have sex 😬 oh sweet summer child what's in the booooox Willow is a better person than me because I would have been on that plane to Oxford dear Buffy, what Angel was trying to say is that he's going to have his own spin-off and that's why he's leaving you out of the blue I think the writers were not great with break-ups this season... you can tell they'd dropped the ball on Buffy and Angel completely even before this ep, because that's a lame ass excuse for a break up lol after the whole Angelus thing, no way the "I'm immortal, you're not" shtick is going to sound believable. Also, I vehemently disagree with Angel: I think I've seen enough of Buffy to say that she wouldn't be happy in a "normal" relationship with a "normal" human being. My girl is freaky! that's a very sweet thing Xander did... and this is how he and Cordelia can still get back together, in this essay I will- BUFFY IS GETTING AN AWARD???!!! MY BUFFY! 🥹 Giles putting on his proudest smile for her... that whole sequence had me in tears Angel showed up... stupid 243 old boy, go and make Buffy happy even if only for one night. I need Buffy to have just one moment of happiness Buffy beating Faith to a pulp can be so personal (I'm sure she'll recover, come on) Angel feeding from Buffy!! Yeah boiii aaand he's back to tortured guy Xander leading the Battle of Blackwater let's fucking gooo why is it that every scene with Buffy and Giles this season was manufactured to make me cry RIP Snyder....... teach the Hellmouth how to bully teenagers submitted by /u/danie_iero to r/buffy [link] [comments]

Where do y’all buy clothes that are reasonably priced??
I know the thrift store is the obvious answer, but I’m weirdly proportioned and normal men’s clothes fit me awful. I’ve been looking at some of the “butch” and “androgynous” sites that are popping up like Dapper Boi and stuff, but holy crap they’re expensive. I’m proposing to my girlfriend soon, and I kinda wanted a nice outfit, but I’m not exactly well off, so it’s kinda hard. Any advice (other than telling me to go to the thrift stores I’ve been to 100 times) is appreciated. submitted by /u/Krisnailrune to r/butchlesbians [link] [comments]

I shopped in the women’s section
Your friendly style enthusiast checking in once more. Lately I’ve been on the hunt for comfy summer clothes - I prioritize lightweight fabrics like linen and cotton, and light colors. Lo and behold the women’s section at TJ Maxx/Marshalls is an absolute goldmine. So, I made it mission to put together three masculine outfits from the women’s section. Keep in mind that linen and cotton do shrink after wash/dry, so if you’re in between sizes, I would size up. Down to my sneakers, everything is “women’s.” This is your sign to wear whatever looks good and makes you happy. Screw what the label says! Even if an item is marketed for “women’s” or “kids”, it can sure as hell look still look dapper. My stats: 5’3, 150 lbs. My usual sizes are S in men’s tops and size 31/32/M in men’s bottoms. Button up shirt - Le Lis, size L $16 White linen pants - Rachel Zoe, size 12 $25 (too big in waist, a belt is a must) White tee - Zara basic cotton, size M $12.90 Blue linen pants - Cable and Gauge, size L $25 Striped pants - Rachel Zoe, size L $25 submitted by /u/qswriting to r/FTMOver30 [link] [comments]

AITAH, for calling out my husband for changing up the rules in our open marriage?
I am not the OOP. The OOP is u/Princessprotect posting in r/AITAH Concluded as per OOP 1 update - Medium Original - 17th October 2024 Update - 4th July 2025 AITAH, for calling out my husband for changing up the rules in our open marriage? I (35f) am in an open relationship with my husband (36m). It was over the summer he mentioned it to me. I wouldn't say I was totally for it but it took some getting used to. Now everything is going great but recently my husband keeps changing the rules. Once I started dating Evan (45m) that's when he started acting differently. My husband and I agreed on a dont ask don't tell policy but, keeps pestering me about the details of our relationship. I give him a little here and there but never the explicit stuff. Everything positive I mention about Evan he downplays or critiques. Last week, I planned a date with Evan and asked him to watch the kids. He agreed. He was to get back home by 9 but texted me to say he's doing overtime that night. I was left scrambling for a sitter at the last minute. This isn't the first time he has done this. Luckily this time I got a hold of a sitter but I could not stay as long as I was hoping for. Afterward, he acted as if everything was okay. He began policing me when I left the house and began picking my outfits apart. Expressing concern about how the neighbors would perceive me. To avoid conflict, I started wearing jackets to cover up before heading out. Then came the issue of Evan dropping me off. He worried about the neighbors seeing a strange car pull up at night. This forced me to do lunch dates. It wasn't a bother. I would bring my laptop to Evan's and work at his place. However,I preferred the dinner dates because I got a chance to dress up more. Changing up the times seemed to alleviate some tension but I still feel like I was compromising too much. He didn't even want me to drive to the dates but when Evan pays for an Uber or drops me off it's an issue. It makes no sense. The breaking point was when Evan sent flowers to the house. My husband lost it claiming it's dangerous for a strange man to know our address when we have kids inside. I will say he was right about this. I did drop the ball however, he insisted that I shouldn't bring home any gifts at all going forward, arguing it violated our don't ask don't tell rule. He used to joke about me not getting chivalry in my open relationship and now that I'm getting dates it's a big deal? I asked him if he doesn't take the women he sleeps with on dates and he said no it's strictly sex and none of that "lovey dovey bullsh**" that I'm doing. I confronted my husband about these rules and he just brushed it off like it was nothing. Saying "it's just a respect thing" I was really enjoying this but he's sucking the fun out of it and it just feels highly stressful. Comments myweechikin Your husband wanted to have a wife and to still sleep with whomever he liked. He didn't want that for you. Come on now, surely you realise that? clackagaling to me, it seems like husband wanted NSA sex with people other than his wife without any of the emotions that come with either an additional girlfriend or hurting his wife. however, wife found someone who also respects and appreciates her, and isnt using her like a hole like how husband is doing his part of the open relationship. so i think this is extra incensing for him, he’s emotionally removing himself just to get extra pussy, she found someone who will put up with the weird rules and treat her well. it’s not just the sex, it’s that she’s getting treated well. myweechikin Yeah, not everyone can enjoy sex with random, one night strangers. Clearly that's not her bag, and he should have known that. Or maybe he did and that's why he thought it would all fall into place nicely for him. Maybe he thought he could have it all while she was at home not sleeping with anyone else Dapper-danimal NTA. Question: Does your husband actually hook up with other women? Reading between the lines I wouldn’t be surprised if things weren’t working out for him. If this is going to work, you can’t just agree to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and call it a day. Rules have to be in place. If he only wants sexual relationships outside of the marriage, without emotional intimacy, that’s a fine rule IF you agree to it. It’s also fine to change the rules after they’ve been established, but that should be based on a conversation where everyone is on the same page. He shouldn’t be able to change or establish the rules on his own and get mad that you haven’t been following them. OOP: I think he does he dresses up on the weekend to go out and comes in late. We both agreed to Emotional intimacy/ ONS/ casual. It’s just the nitpicking that’s too much. I don’t mind having a discussion but when I’m met with “it’s not that serious” that’s when I get pissed. Corpuscular_Ocelot You need to see this for what it is. He opened the marriage w/o understanding that it meant you would be going "on dates" too. He never wanted the rules to be fair, so starting from that premise is only going to get him subverting any discussions. He just thought a out all the fun he would be having. Now he is treating you like shit because he can't stand that what is good for the gander is good for the goose. You need to bottom line it for him: Open marriages are not easy to maintain. Most couples can't handle it. The only way to handle it is to set clear rules and follow them. One thing I will say is that your partner needs to be your primary, so if both of you are putting all your efforts into getting laid outside of the relationship, you will trash the marriage. You need regular date nights and check-ins, etc. It also takes a lot of trust and respect for your partner. In other words, you need to put work into your marriage to make it work, open or closed. There is plenty of literature out there on how to make this work if you really want it to, but it is work. Opening a marriage isn't a "quick release valve" to save a marrige for people who aren't good and communicating and take their spouse for granted. **Judgement - NTA*\* Update - 9 months later You guys were right, this was a shit show. I'm not sure where to start but we are getting a divorce. He infact did not change and became way more possessive and controlling while changing the rules. Everything I did was either wrong or inconsiderate. Evan had planned a weekend trip to Cabo to celebrate a new business venture. I asked my husband if he was okay with it weeks in advance. He enthusiastically agreed mentioning I deserved the trip he even told me to make sure I "flood his phone" with pics. I told him I was going to stay with Evan the night before for easier commute, he insisted on taking me to the airport instead. Since it was our last night until Tuesday. However, when it was time to leave he overslept! Despite urging him to get up to the point that I pulled the covers off and turned off the air he spent an entire HOUR in the bathroom. Then to make matters worse he didn't fill the tank!! I told him the evening before. I called an uber which was another hour late but luckily I got to enjoy my trip. I let it slide and moved on. Boy oh boy I wish I never went on that trip because things got worse. It's like I was being punished for the trip. He became incredibly invasive in my personal relationships. He wanted to know what my sex life with Evan was like. If he was better etc. he used to play it off like it was not a big deal to him then I caught him snooping through my phone. It was too much. I didn't understand because Evan was no longer the only man I was seeing but Evan triggered him the most. If that wasn’t enough he had his friends over for boys night, I was getting ready for girls night. Before I left he said out loud “ You’re really gonna leave me to go fuck him” in front of his friends! The embarrassment and humiliation I felt, even typing this. I just sat in my car and cried so much and that’s when I knew it was done. He apologized mentioned he was drunk. I don’t buy it one bit. He has never acted like this. This open relationship has left me drained mentally and emotionally and it wasn’t even my idea to begin with. I have filed for divorce but he keeps begging for reconciliation but I can’t. Before anyone comments I know you told me so. Sigh. Comments AcanthisittaBoth8524 he didn't want an open marriage, he wanted your permission to sleep with others while you were not allowed the same. NTA then or now Enjoy yourself Christinemfm_84 This nta, op if he ever says anything in front of people again call him out and say he was the one who wanted to open the relationship. Your husband wanted to sleep around and didn’t realize you’d be having fun too. AcanthisittaBoth8524 I also wonder if it's not working out for him as much as he hoped it would Christinemfm_84 Yeah he probably slept with whoever he wanted to sleep with and it wasn’t as great as he thought and he isn’t getting as many girls as he thought he would. Boo-Boo97 Isn't that how these stories usually go? Husband demands open marriage so he can screw around, discovers that he's not that attractive and women aren't lining up to be with them while their wives are picking up guys right and left. Then demands their wives stop meeting others and the wives meanwhile have found there are much better men out there than the assholes they married and file for divorce. I am not the OOP. Sexy Sect Babes: Chapter Seventy
“What the hell is this!?” Jack damn near jumped out of his skin at the sudden question from what he had been sure was an empty bathroom. As it was, his incredibly dapper robe suffered something of a wardrobe malfunction as he turned to face a rather angry looking divinity. Deliberately calming himself he slid his toothbrush from his mouth. “Yating, you’re back.” The rooster was sat on the shitter. Legs crossed, eyes blazing and feathers actively puffed up like some kind of cat. “What. Is. This?” Jack’s eyes flitted from the cultivator’s face to the object he had held between two fingers. Ah, he thought as he took in the small metal chip. That’s not good. He’d made those explosive chips to order, which meant he had literally zero spares knocking around. Which meant that the only place Yating could have got it from was inside of someone. And they were not located in places that were conducive to having them be removed. That was kind of the whole point. “Who did you get that from?” Jack asked. “And please tell me they’re still alive.” “One of your new pets. The ones with the armor. I was on my way to see you when I heard them complaining of it in their room.” Yating sniffed dismissively. “Naturally, I investigated. And while it was tedious work to remove, it was nothing beyond the power of a healing sage. My test subject should wake up none the wiser as to her lighter burden.” Well, that was terrifying on a number of levels. The divinity had somehow heard someone speaking to themselves in their room, entered said room - which was supposed to require a passcode - rendered the cultivator in said room unconscious without them or anyone else noticing, removed a device that was specifically tamper proof from said person’s neck, then healed them well enough that they apparently wouldn’t notice the change. Jack hadn’t known Yating was a healer. More to the point… “How hasn’t it exploded?” Jack asked curiously, eying the chip. “It should respond to changes in temperature.” As in response, the Rooster quirked a single delicate eyebrow and the thing exploded in his hand. It wasn’t a big explosion. It didn’t need to be when the thing was designed to be placed at the base of someone’s skull. With that in mind, it was more akin to a large firecracker than anything else. Jack didn’t jump this time, something he was sure disappointed the overgrown bird across from him. “I assumed as much and accounted for that and half a dozen other failsafes that your little abomination might have had.” Yating said, as if that said anything at all. This time it was Jack’s turn to quirk an eyebrow. “Abomination? That’s a little much, don’t you think?” Yating said nothing, his eyes still blazing with anger. “It’s insurance.” The human finally grunted. “And hardly the worst thing I’ve done since you’ve met me. So why are you so worked up about it?” The Divinity growled and the nearby mirror suddenly cracked. “Are you actually trying to hit me with some killing intent right now?” Jack scoffed. “You know it doesn’t work on me. Just use your words.” Perhaps he should have remained quiet. Really, this should have been terrifying. It was the middle of the night and he stood in a bathrobe with a pissed off godling in front of him. One who would kill him with a twitch of his finger. “Killing intent does not always come about as a result of some kind of technique,” Yating bit out. “There’s a reason even spirit beasts have it after all. Sometimes it’s simply that. Killing intent.” Huh, that was interesting to know. Yet, for all that, he wasn’t worried. More exasperated than anything else. Maybe it was the knowledge that they needed each other that was giving him courage? Maybe he’d just become inured to the omnipresent possibility of death? Either way, he was tired from a long day trying to run a city and wasn’t about to be highroaded by a being he was pretty sure had played a role in some literal genocide back in the day. Neither of them had clean hands. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this was more… personal rather than professional?” He didn’t even see the Divinity move. One moment he was sat on the crapper, the next Jack could feel the cultivator’s spurs at his throat. And they were spurs. Like a rooster would have. Long blade attached to the being’s ankles that slid out with a flick of his foot. Jack didn’t move though. He simply gazed down the long outstretched leg to Yating’s serious gaze. “Huh, you wear shorts under those?” he asked. “No more. None.” Yating’s words were iron. “Jokes?” “Insurance. What has gone before may persist, but I will allow you to bring no others under these device’s’ despicable sway.” Jack considered the other person’s words for a long moment. “Alright.” The Rooster’s gaze widened. He hesitated for just a moment, before the spurs slid back and the divinity slowly, almost gingerly, lowered his leg. “Just like that?” The human shrugged. “Just like that.” The benefits the devices provided weren’t worth poisoning his relationship with the Divinity over. Now, perhaps another man might have considered such a relationship poisoned already, given that he’d just been threatened by the other man, but Jack had grown up in a megacity underbelly. Threats were the language of choice there. Which was also why he resisted the urge to point out how little difference there was between being threatened by a subdermal explosive chip and an angry divinity with ankle-blades. Both compelled obedience through fear and force. He knew the signs. He’d seen them before in former penal laborers. Yating’s issue wasn’t the principle behind the action, only the method through which it was achieved. And the means by which the Empire functions slowly starts to make sense to me, Jack thought. He eyed how Yating seemed to have shrunk in on himself, his feathers drooped. If he didn’t know any better, he’d say the immortal almost looked… ashamed was too strong a word, but abashed or embarrassed were slightly more apt. “So, where’ve you been?” he asked, stepped forward and once more readjusting his robes – noting that his microbots were still where they were supposed to be. He’d felt them twitch and bunch up when Yating moved, but they hadn’t done anything more than that. At his words, the immortal sagged even further, before muttering something quietly to himself. Eventually though he grunted something understandable. “Buying you time. You have four months before an Imperial diplomatic team shows up at your door. You’re welcome.” Then he disappeared. One eyeblink he was there, then he was gone. “Wait, what!?” Jack’s hand whipped out, hoping to grasp what he hoped was an invisible bundle of feathers – even if he knew it was pointless. “You can’t just say that and disappear!” He shouted at the empty bathroom, uncaring of how he could hear indistinct stirring from his partner in the other room. Fortunately, Lin was a heavy sleeper. Which was a nice change of pace from literally any of his other possible bedpartners. Which was why it was doubly fortunate that Huang was apparently sleeping in the forge tonight. Or at least, that was what he assumed from Lin’s muttered mumblings on the subject before she sank into his bed. “Yating!” Jack hissed. “Seriously, I’d like to talk more about these negotiators I’m going to have to deal with.” All he got was silence. “Like, are they negotiators or negotiators?” More silence. “Plus, you never said you could heal! That could save me a trip.” Silence. “If you come out right now, I’ll give you a cake.” Yet more silence. “Shit,” Jack finally muttered. He sighed, and glanced up at his now crack bathroom mirror. “And a fat lot of good you were.” In response, microbots appeared lethargically from his collar and gave him what could only have been a shrug. Jack sagged. The damn things were getting smarter by the day. Either it was ki shit or just plain talking to them was helping them develop faster, but they were learning. And that increased understanding of the world meant that they’d known trying some kind of threat display against Yating would have been completely and totally pointless. So they hadn’t tried. Jack watched the sliver of silver disappear back under his clothes before resignedly grabbing his toothbrush and continuing his oral hygiene routine. It was a distracted process though. He had a lot to think about. Like how he was going to convince the Imperial Throne to leave him and his people be. …I’m going to need a counterweight, Jack thought. ------------------ “Don’t you all have things you need to be doing?” Jack asked idly as they trundled gently along in one of the new Barrels through Ten Huo’s busy streets, mounted members of the Steel Paw clearing the path ahead of the small convoy of tracked machines. “Is our presence a problem?” Ren asked idly from her position to his right. Jack glanced between the four women present in the crew compartment with him. Ren to his right. An across from and to his right. Lin to his left. Huang across from him and to his left. The lines between the camps of his harem couldn’t have been more stark if they were outlined in chalk. The tension in the vehicle was palpable. Gao, the only other man present, had sat as far from all of them as humanly possible. He’d also spent the entire trip talking on his headset to, well, a lot of different people. Most recently, he’d been fielding a conversation about some kind of… shadow crocodile thing. Jack didn’t envy him. The man was incredibly busy and it had taken a small act of divine authority for Jack to get him to come along on this trip. Which said a lot about the man’s work ethic, given that they were finally going to see what they could do about the man’s scarring. To that end, the vehicle behind them was carrying the other survivors of the Red Death’s attack – in an open topped variant of the new tracked crawlers. A few of the former ‘tankers’ had become somewhat claustrophobic in the days following their near-death experience. So much so that some of them had quietly been transferred to other sections of the new army of Ten Huo. Which wasn’t really too big an issue. If anything, the men were more useful as instructors than as drivers or gunners. “Not at all,” he smiled as charmingly as he could. “I just would have thought you would all be busy with other things.” “Our tablets allow us to keep abreast of many things without the need for our physical presence,” An said simply. And sure enough, all the women present had tablets in hand. Even Ren, who was easily the least technically apt of the lot. Which said a lot about how determined she was to be here for this showdown… or about just how quickly Huang had adapted to the wonders of technology, given the relatively short amount of time she’d spent as part of his entourage. She’d been learning fast, and while she wasn’t quite on Lin’s level yet, she was still familiar enough to serve as an assistant of sorts to the peasant girl. Which was a strange thought indeed, for an Imperial Princess to serve as a peasant’s assistant. Almost as strange as Ren and An agreeing on something, Jack thought as he glanced at the two cultivators. Though to be fair, their alliance seemed to be formed less out of mutual respect and more out of a need not to be shown up by a pair of mortals. By contrast, Huang and Lin were fast friends – and perhaps a little bit more. He honestly had no idea how to frame the pair’s relationship and at this point wasn’t even going to try. Fortunately, the conflict between the two camps had yet to escalate beyond a need to remain in his presence and some glaring. Which was why he’d yet to step in to put his proverbial foot down. Normally he preferred to let these things work themselves out, lest he be seen as ‘taking sides’, but that stance would only persist so long as everyone involved behaved in a more or less professional manner. Which is a strange thing to say about relationship drama, but I suppose that’s what I get for mixing business with pleasure, he thought with a grimace. Who knew knocking boots with my Head-Warrior, Regent, Head-Engineer/Best Friend and nominal concubine would get complicated? Him. He’d known. And he’d done it anyway. Because sex. And greed. …And he genuinely did like all of them. Both the good and the bad. Because while he could say none of them were perfect, neither was he. And there were certainly worse things to experience than being stuck in the confined space with four different women who all wanted to get into his pants. Still, he almost sighed in relief as the Barrel rolled to a stop, the light overhead turning green to indicate that they’d arrived at their destination – as opposed to all the other times they’d stopped to allow a crowded street to clear of traffic before continuing on. Which, to be fair, they tended to do rather quickly given the average cultivator’s tendency to plow through a crowd in their horse drawn carriages. By contrast, his people were apparently getting some good press for not doing that. Going to have to make new laws about it anyway, he thought, adding the note to the near endless list of tasks he had to do. Can’t have some cultivator getting shot in the face by one of my people because they mowed down said person’s daughter on the way to a meeting or something. Given that nearly every guard in the city would soon be armed with a gonne and answering to him directly, rather than the sects, that scenario would become a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’ if he didn’t get in front of it now. Plus, there was the fact that his vehicles were becoming an increasingly common sight across the city. Yes, traffic laws would have to be instituted. And then actually enforced universally, which would be a whole different kettle of fish. He idly rubbed at his scalp as he stood up, before pulling his helmet over his head as the Barrel’s ramp slid down to the ground, bathing the vehicle’s insides in natural light. He stepped out into the morning light and craned his head around in search of assassins. There shouldn’t have been any, the Barrel was equipped with a sensor suite capable of tracking even Yating and Elwin’s light bending invisibility – let alone the simple ‘notice me not’ technique the locals used. Still, it was better to get into the habit of checking now. He was sure the next bout of assassination attempts would come soon enough. The local sects could no longer oppose him through conventional force, and they’d been almost outright neutered politically, which meant that skullduggery was really the only method left to them. There was nothing that he could see though. The nearby rooftops were clear. And I doubt there’s anyone hidden in the crowd, he thought. None of the sects could afford to be seen as responsible for killing a healer if he was caught in the crossfire. Ironically, killing the magistrate would net them allies and be seen as a show of strength – even clandestinely. Killing a healer would gain only enemies. Not out of any real respect for the life-saving profession, but because they were a somewhat ‘neutral’ strategic asset for the city as a whole. And much like craftsmen, they were usually men. Which Sheng definitely was. It was the beard that gave it away. It was long, white and very stereotypical. The wizened old man stood in front of his compound, two women to each side, who could only have been bodyguards – or wives. The line between the two could blur significantly around here, as Jack could attest. Though given the slightly advanced age of the two women, Jack was willing to bet the latter. Still, they looked fearsome enough for it, even clad in white healer’s garments, there was no missing the way they eyed everyone around, hands firmly around the hafts of the oversized maces they held. Behind the cultivators stood a small army of servants, nurses and orderlies, all clad in white robes with hats and masks. Which did a lot to improve Jack’s opinion of the local medical industry quite a bit. His questions to An and Ren had resulted in them showing only an incredibly basic understanding of germ theory. They’d known that keeping a wound clean was good, lest it fester, but reasons beyond that had devolved into bad humors and spirits. Admittedly, spirits might exist, but Jack was still dubious. Which had left him a little leery of leaving his people in the hands of what might well be a bunch of witch doctors. For all that, Sheng seemed intelligent enough in the few letters they’d exchanged, but pure text wasn’t always a trustworthy medium for communication. “Great one, this humble servant is proud to welcome you to this place of healing,” Sheng bowed deeply with every outward sign that he meant it. Which he likely did. Sheng was the most well known healer in the city and while he was not truly independent – given that he was nominally part of the Jade Fur Sect – he had also had a somewhat lucrative contract with the Imperial Army and Huang herself. A contract that was voided with Shui’s transition to power and one I’m sure he’d love to renew with me, Jack thought as he eyed the expensive architecture just beyond the outer doors of the compound. No, this place was no charity. Medicine was as much a business here as it had been back on Jack’s homeworld – after the megacorps officially finished gutting the last of his homeland’s more ‘socialist’ policies. The more things change, the more they stay the same, he thought. That was fine by Jack. He had access to the city’s vaults – and enough precious metals to crash the secondary mortal economy five times over. Sure, he had less spirit coins, the crystallized ki currency used by cultivators, but one could buy the other. Well, it could until an economic crash occurred, he admitted. And the value of gold nosedived. Fortunately, he had Ren handling all that. She was slowly liquidating his supply of precious metals in a manner that hopefully wouldn’t destroy the city’s slowly recovering economy. A task that was easier said than done with the ongoing war. The value of gold compared to goods had already plummeted a little without any input from him. To that end, I need to revive our shipping industry and see if we can’t find some overseas contacts, Jack thought. That would be something he’d need to broach with Elwin at some point. “I’m glad to be here,” Jack nodded back to the man, giving him face while deliberately not bowing himself given his higher social stature. A slightly quirked eyebrow was the only note the healer made of the fact that Jack showed up to his place of healing outfitted for war, but otherwise said nothing. Instead his eyes traveled over Jack’s entourage, brightening slightly when they alighted on Huang though, before dimming just as quickly. “As overjoyed as I am to hear that, Great One…” The wizened old cultivator coughed. “I confess some confusion as to the purpose of this meeting. Your letters, while welcome, were rather vague on the matter of specifics.” That had been entirely intentional. The man might have refused his request if he’d made it from a distance. It was a lot harder to do so from within grabbing distance. “Nor did I expect such a large convoy,” the man continued nervously, eyes flitting toward the Steel Paw. Well, Jack was glad to see his reputation preceded him. All he’d had to do was almost single handedly save the city, kill a small god and then wipe two small armies of cultivators off the map. “It would be better to talk inside,” Jack said without preamble. “The doors of your compound are no place for such talk.” Indeed, the man could be said to be insulting him by not immediately inviting him inside. He wasn’t. At least, not intentionally. The fact that Jack had shown up with so many people simply had him searching for assurances where ‘good behavior’ was concerned. “Of course. Of course.” The healer smiled weakly, gesturing to his people to clear a path. A path that Jack followed the old healer down as they headed into his ‘hospital’. Though he didn’t miss the way the old man’s eyes twitched as Gao and his equally scarred fellows followed after them, while most of the Steel Paw stayed outside. The man had likely already figured out why Jack was here and was likely not best pleased that he’d be ‘wasting his time’ on a bunch of mortals. Jack didn’t care. He’d promised he’d heal his people and he would. Some wrinkly old cultivator’s pride wasn’t going to get away with that. Though I’m glad to see my decision to keep the specifics of this trip a secret wasn’t pointless, he thought. Still, not all of the Steel Paw stood outside. Two came up the rear of Jack’s formation, having clambered out of the rearmost barrel. Between them stood a third figure, clad from head to toe in a thick cloak that obscured their features completely. Nevertheless, they towered over the cultivators escorting them, and none could miss the rhythmic clanking of chains jingling with every step they took. Jack didn’t miss the way the man twitched as the figure drew closer, his hands clasping and unclasping as they darted from Jack to the cloaked being. It seemed he’d sensed that something was off. Ren had said he likely would. Healers, more than anyone, had excellent sensory abilities and ki control. And while the Steel Paw were supposed to be blaring their intent as a form of shroud, if anyone in the city were capable of parsing through it, the man opposite him would. “What manner of madness have you brought into my home?” The healer asked, eyes hard and flinty as they turned back to Jack. There was no honorifics there, and the man’s wives tensed once more as they pulled closer to the old man. Jack ignored them, his gaze only on the healer, before he shrugged within the confines of his suit. “The necessary kind.” First / Previous / Next Another three chapters are also available on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/bluefishcake We also have a (surprisingly) active Discord where and I and a few other authors like to hang out: https://discord.gg/RctHFucHaq submitted by /u/BlueFishcake to r/HFY [link] [comments]

Out of Cruel Space, Part 161
The Bounty Hunters “You’re looking to get a what?” Pukey asks Bike and the man rolls his eyes before bringing up his communicator with a specific file already accessed. “An uplink port. A minor cybernetic enhancement designed to allow a person to directly control computer programs without using things like keyboards and such.” “May I ask why?” “I’m the main computer man of the team. This mean’s the hacking’s on me, however while I can get into most systems those that spring up around Machine Cults or their adherents are so advanced that the majority of the programming hacking is purely digital. You need to project yourself inwards in ways that you simply can’t do with normal control.” “I’m not sure I like this Bike. What if the hacking can be reversed? With a link into your brain you could be taken over entirely.” “This is an output port exclusively. It only receives and relays commands one way and cannot receive them from anywhere but my own biology. It is a problem for full conversion cyborgs and mind uploads, but they have their own styles of protection that are being constantly updated and improved. The only way to reliably hack either like what happened with that Downshift girl is for the robotic body to be compromised from the word go and even that can thankfully fail.” Bike explains and Pukey considers. “Alright, but remember the rule. No one goes anywhere alone on this station. I’m going with Cindy and Scaly. Who are you with?” “Cindy and Scaly? Sir, they’re civilians shouldn’t...” Bike trails off. “Ah. You’re publically going with them. Backup in the shadows?” “Air-Farce and Onyx are in the driver’s seats with a small armoury and the encouragement to drop in if any of us need a friendly face. What about you?” “I’ll bring Tang with me. The sniper duo have good eyes for detail and he’ll spot trouble a mile off while I’m under the knife. Also if you need help he’ll be able to reach out and offer it no matter the distance.” “Good, are you also willing to completely cover up? We may be sticking closer to the Synth Ascendency but Conservative Gravids still control most of that sector. I can get away flashing my cyber arm and Scaly his fingers, but we need to cover up or someone’s going to flip.” “Great. So you got a spare burka or something? I’m thinking I could go for a pale blue and Tang would look dapper in white.” Bike asks and Pukey rolls his eyes. “I was thinking more full armour with serapes and hoods.” “That’s Air-Farce’s idea isn’t it?” Bike asks. “Yes and we’re going through with it because when he brought it up he also revealed a whole stack of the things. Full gear with mask and a serape overtop, hood up.” Pukey says and Bike nods. “Alright. Get Tang and get yourselves in full suit up to shuttle bay three. You have half an hour.” Pukey receives a salute and Bike dashes off. This prompts the commanding officer to go over his communicator and inform people of a few changes. Twenty minutes later Pukey observes Bike and Tang walk into the shuttle bay. It’s easy to tell who’s who with Tang having his rifle already fully assembled and slung across his back. The men are wearing identical brown serapes with tan patterns along the hems. With their facemasks on though not the helmets they look like they’re in Halloween outfits. Air-Farce on the other hand is clearly celebrating Día De Muertos and has dressed appropriately for it. Pukey’s allowing his cybernetic arm to show as well as his canon, while Scaly is covered up in low profile armour under not only his sarape but his tied off blanket that covers most, but not all, of his long tail about three feet and the tip still poke out. “Alright. Now remember, this is as much a test as anything. Can we walk around Section Eight without being molested by the Gravids?” Pukey asks. “And see how good we are at making friends.” Scaly remarks. “Am I... am I wearing this thing right? It feels okay but I’m not sure.” “Here.” Cindy says and Scaly leans down. She adjusts his collar a little and then smiles. “There you go. You’re such a handsome boy. We’ll have to be careful that one of the local ladies doesn’t grab you and run.” “Hopefully the hood will hide it then.” Scaly half whispers as Onyx snickers. “If we’re all done, let’s get going. Time to show my man just how good I am in the driver’s seat.” She says as she opens the door to the shuttle before grabbing Air-Farce. “Come on handsome.” “It’s absurd that they won’t let men drive into their section of the station.” Cindy grumps out loud. “The Gravids control the airlocks. They’re kind of cunts that way. Real pushy with their religion and they cram it down the throat of any woman who’ll give them a few seconds. Men wrapped up and the women with their tits and ass pushed up. Uncomfortable way to live.” Onyx says from inside the shuttle as Scaly slides in whisper quiet and straps himself up to a wall harness. “I am not that kind of driver!” “Yea, that’s more my act.” Air-Farce notes. “You sure that’s comfy kid? We keep trying to make chairs that you might like but...” “But my tail is a giant one that drags on the floor. I’m fine. There’s a carpet down. That’s enough. My ancestors thought warm stones were a luxury, heated soft floors is a step up from that.” “Fair enough kiddo. Just make sure to tell us if things start going weird. You just passed basic weapons training after all. You’re part of the team now.” Pukey says taking a seat right next to Scaly as Cindy walks in and sits down comfortably. Bike and Tang come in next with Tang manoeuvring around his long sniper rifle around a bit and sits down comfortably. “Alright lady and gentlemen. We’re heading to Sector Eight. First we’re dropping off Bike and Tang so our com boy can get stabbed in the head before dropping of the surgeon and cyborgs to go meet with their people as my hubby and I have a leisurely ride around the section and map it out. Any questions?” “Will there be movies on this flight?” Scaly asks and there’s some snickering from the men as Onyx just looks baffled. “Alright, which one of you clowns told him to say that?” Cindy scolds them and Air-Farce holds up his hand. “I should have known.” “Closing the doors to the shuttle. “ Onyx says pressing a few buttons. “Who’s getting of first? Surgery or spiritual conversations?” “Surgery it will take longer in the end so may as well burn as much as the wait time with transportation.” Pukey says and Onyx nods as after a few checks the airlock door opens. The semi-permeable force field keeps in the air and they fly out. The airlock then shuts behind them. “Hey what did you mean about the Gravids earlier?” Tang asks after a few moments. It’s a ten minute ride and he couldn’t last more than two without talking. “What did I mean about what with the Gravids?” Onyx asks. “Their tits and ass are pushed up?” Tang asks. “You interested in those kinds of girls?” Onyx teases from the front. “Just wondering what kind of madness we’re about to walk into.” “Oh that’s boring. Basically Gravidation is big on how women are blessed to have children, so drawing attention to the tools of such, the crotch, hips and breasts, is considered honourable and proper. Meaning thigh high boots that squeeze them, corsets with push up bras. High heels. All of that is considered the rights stuff to wear. “So they’re dressed like stripers. I gotcha.” “Uh no, you guys dress like strippers.” “Excuse me!?” “There’s a fetish for everything, no matter what you boys put on a guarantee that some woman tried paying a man to take it off.” “Oh for the love of...” Bike grumbles as Tang laughs. Moments later they’re zooming into the transfer tunnel and everyone inside winces as the obnoxiously bright light of Section Eight pours in. “Should have brought sunglasses. Good god.” “More goddesses than gods around here, but you’re right. This is terrible.” Cindy notes as she stand up on her chair and leans out to see out the front view screen with a squint. “Yeesh, I suppose white is regarded as a symbol of purity all over isn’t it?” “Straining out all other colours to have things starkly one way or another? Oh you bet white’s popular with the religious folk. Black’s the runner up.” Onyx says before preening. “Which puts me at an advantage with this luxurious pelt.” “And the golden highlights certainly add to the majesty.” Air-Farce says. “Save the fraternization until after we’re all in the clear. Until we’ve left the area we’re effectively in enemy territory.” “Not to mention it’s kinda hard to fuck through full body armour and a covering.” Scaly adds. “When did you get sassy?” Cindy demands. “Look mom... I mean Cindy, I didn’t exactly get my fingers plucked off and eaten in front of me for my own good. My video sessions with the head shrinkers on The Dauntless may be helping, and I may be shy at times... but I’ve been through hell, my virginity was taken just before my eye and most of the skin surrounding it was. The physical pain is gone, but I will NEVER forget it.” Scaly says and Cindy squirms in her seat and everyone grows uncomfortably quiet. “Thanks little buddy.” Pukey says softly. “What?!” Cindy demands. “Wait... he’s talking about it, willingly. This IS a good thing. Terrifying but good.” “If it’s any comfort buddy, had I known what that cannibal bitch had done to you ahead of time I’d have made her scream before the end.” Pukey says with a growl in his voice. “Da- I mean, uh... Pukey if you did that you wouldn’t have had the time to escape yourself, than none of THIS would have happened.” Scaly says holding his arms out. “Well, as a girl that lost her bachelorette status thanks to this team I’m glad you didn’t. Besides torture... it’s one of those ragged edges that are really best kept away from. Sure it can be tempting, it might even work from time to time, but sweet goddess is it a horrible thing to do.” Onyx says slowly. “I was only partially serious. Torture is very much a step I never want to take. There are much, much better ways to interrogate someone than tying them down and working them over with something heavy.” Pukey says. “Yea, it’s just I... hmm...” Onyx mutters. “I’m fine. I’m getting a handle on what happened. Besides, not only will any freak like that have to go through you guys to get me, but also-” He whips out his sidearm from under his serape. “They’ll have to go through me as well. What you guys call the basics most people in the galaxy would call a comprehensive course on how to break peoples, things and places.” “You’re still on the basics of the basics, little man. Next up come the heavier toys and how to make them. We’re still trying to figure out how to get a man with a serpent tail to march but we’re working on it.” “Why’s marching so important again?” “It’s more about unity and moving alongside your fellows as a single unit. Team tactics. Get everyone moving at the same pace and acting and thinking as a group instead of a gaggle of individuals. Our biggest catches and successes are due to team work. We can work together and be much stronger together, do dozens of things at once with maximum effectiveness and completely crush our opposition with ease.” “Ease up on the sales pitch, he’s a teen.” Tang rebukes him. “I dunno dude, kids basically sixteen. Good age to start thinking about it.” Bike adds in. “I’m already in training! I’m not thinking about it, I’ve made up my damn mind!” Scaly protests and there’s some chuckles. “Hey I think this is the spot.” Onyx suddenly says as the people in the shuttle suddenly realize they’re not moving anymore. “Prelate Flora’s Ascension Pagoda?” Air-Farce translates from the map. “Yea, we’re going up to the third of ten stories. It’s got not only the part but a dedicated surgeon for installing it.” Bike remarks. “You know, we’re pretty far from Gravid territory. We may be safe to take these off.” “We’ll be testing it bit by bit. You’re going to be under the knife so let’s not take too many chances. Today’s tests are will they accept what’s clearly non-religious coverings if they serve the same purpose? Two is will they tolerate clearly armed men? Finally three is with you two, is will they tolerate men that are unescorted by women? Three tests are enough tests for now.” “True enough. See you in a bit bossman.” Bike says as he and Tang climb out of the shuttle and start moving into the pagoda itself. First Last Next submitted by /u/KyleKKent to r/HFY [link] [comments]

First Contact - Chapter 582 - Stock Car Race
[first] [prev] [next] "The light in the window is a crack in the sky..." - Ozzy "Hairy Goblin" Osbourne, industrialist, supervillain, and musician General NoDra'ak walked slowly along the path, breathing slow and steady, letting his grasping arms and bladearms hang loose and swing back and forth. He'd just gotten finished with a three minute time on a 2-mile run and felt pretty good about himself. Despite going on nearly four hundred he was in excellent physical condition. True, he was a little more out of breath than he would have been two hundred years ago, but it wasn't that long ago that he would have only lived to the grand old age "got his head eaten by a matron" so all in all he was pretty satisfied with everything. Now if only the Trial of General Trucker, as it was being labeled in the press, would be as easy as a two mile sprint. NoDra'ak felt a slight tingle of irritation at the thought of the trial. With the whole thing moving to General Court Martial, with a judge and a full panel of nine, the whole thing had turned into a massive warhead with the addition of the Immortals. General NoDra'ak snickered to himself at the memory of the JAG officer giving one of the Immortals the questionnaire to see if they were suitable to sit on the board. The JAG officer had asked the innocent faced female Terran/feline hybrid simply: "Have you ever worked with General Trucker previously to this?" and gotten a string of emojis and the simple word "Doki." The translator had packed it in and the JAG officer had turned to NoDra'ak and the JAG Office CO and just shrugged. The Neko-Marine was nearly eight thousand years old, had 'fallen' into the embrace of the Neko-Marines nearly as long ago, during the Second Terran/Mantid War. A former Four Star General equivalent with an impressive combat record before her 'Fall', the fact that she was still alive and part of the Neko-Marine's 'command structure' (if one could call it that) was impressive all on its own. Still the JAG officer could not even certify that what the Joan was experiencing and what everyone else was experiencing was the same thing. So she had been excused from sitting on the court martial board. JAG wasn't sure about having General Cavarxis on the board either. Formerly a Combine Power Armor Orbital Drop Specialist, the ancient Terran had ended up in the Martial Orders during the Imperium and then ended up joining whatever the Crusade of Agony was. The officer had a record of planet cracking, pogroms, attacking undefended planets and wiping out billions, and all kinds of atrocities. That went without the Hellspace worship, siding with the Dark Elves of the Mithril Nebula, and more than once going toe to toe with Daxin's Dark Crusade of Light. There were no warrants out for his arrest, beyond an old Imperium "Shoot on sight" order. The General had led the Crusade of Rapturous Agony for over eight thousands years, most of it involved in warfare. JAG had decided that the ancient General was the perfect person to sit on the board, since he had done far far worse than use the Black Cauldron Protocols. NoDra'ak stopped at one of the exercise spots. He moved up, then crouched down and moved underneath the heavy wooden log so that it was balanced across his abdomen. He inhaled then exhaled as he stood up, lifting the three hundred pound log into the air, balanced across his foreleg shoulders. He did ten slow reps, then got out from under the log, leaving it to swing on the chains. He took a short break, taking a drink of water and lighting a cigarette. The Immortals were only part of the problem. Every JAG officer realized that the whole thing was radioactive. Judge selection was proving difficult as all of a sudden 'unexplained jumpspace migraine' seemed to be the number one medical complaint among the judges. Nobody wanted their name attached to the whole thing. Then the lawyers were an issue. Nobody wanted to defend Trucker, because Trucker wanted to plead guilty to having used the Black Cauldron Protocol, but nobody wanted to be on the prosecution because they didn't want to be associated with taking part in a witch hunt. Then add into the whole mixture the fact that all of the Confederate Armed Services were watching the whole thing intently. To the lower ranking officers, it would serve to show whether or not the new command, having risen up during the Council Conflict, was going to throw officers under the ground truck for doing their duty. To the higher ranking it would serve to show just how much having the rank to make impossible decisions was going to mean you had the rank to end up serving a couple of life sentences somewhere. It didn't help that those over-clever public relations reporters over at the 7th Army Bugler and the Confederate Military Times had quickly made the case to the public that it wasn't so much Trucker was on trial but rather the Black Cauldron itself was on trial. According to NoDra'ak's intel shop, nearly 95% of the Confederate military approved of what Trucker did, and nearly 78% of humans approved, an almost unheard of number. NoDra'ak had seen two Terrans fist fight over whether or not the sky was cornflower blue or baby's breath blue. Worse, it had gotten out across GalNet and SolNet and the civilian reporters had been showing up for three days, all demanding to be seated in the gallery, wandering around post, and interviewing random people. Apparently a pair of Tukna'rn had amused themselves by telling several reporters that there was an entire secret base full of Black Cauldron test subjects and sent the reporters out into a swamp. Four Telkan had dressed up as zombies and surrounded a half dozen reporters, moving forward stiffly and moaning out 'brains... brains... oral sex and brains..." before the reporters had started screaming and ran off. A greenie being interviewed while worked 'accidentally' dropped a glass vial, which shattered, and convinced the reporters to hide from "Black Cauldron Nanites" in a POL shed, whereupon the greenie had welded shut the door and gone to lunch. NoDra'ak snorted as he put his forelegs up on a log and slowly lowered and raised himself up and down, with slow reps, even as he puffed on his cigarette. The only thing a reporter loves more than a victorious battle is a battle or war being lost or something they can spin as a war crime, NoDra'ak thought to himself. There should be a bounty on reporters and you should be able to hunt them like deer. NoDra'ak shook his head. He knew why he despised reporters and why he was more than happy to let Public Affairs handle all the journalists. Back during the Mithril Nebula Conflict a reporter had edited footage of NoDra'ak's platoon engaged in heavy fighting against Dark Elf infantry then broadcast to the Confederacy footage of 'war crimes' where they'd digitally erased all the weapons from the Dark Elf's hands, making it look like NoDra'ak's platoon had butchered unarmed and surrendering troops. They'd then taken an interview from six months earlier and 'deep faked' it into NoDra'ak bragging about how they 'routinely executed Dark Elves' and broadcast that. NoDra'ak had ended up on trial. He'd faced the hang man's rope. He knew now that it was to establish that Cygnus-Orion News Network had faked the whole thing for ratings, but at the time, he had been terrified they'd execute him. Of course, there was also the time a journalist managed to get a hold of troop movements and gleefully broadcast about it, meaning that NoDra'ak's company had done an orbital insertion into heavy fire instead of taking the whole system by surprise. Out of two hundred nineteen Treana'ad infantrymen less than a hundred had reached the surface of the planet. NoDra'ak moved back to the log and did fifteen reps, did a ten count of breathing, then another twenty reps. He still remembered that if it had not been for a Terran striker pilot he had planned on killing that reporter when he heard that the journalist had been given an award for 'bravely reporting on a military operation being withheld from the public.' Seventy years ago, that striker pilot, who had been a Chief Warrant Officer Grade-Four, had been killed during a civil war, when a 'field journalist' had snuck through the wire and reported on the Confederate military launching strikers to stop both sides' atrocities. The officer's striker wing had hit prepared SAM sites and been wiped out to a man. Doing a slow set of thirty reps with the log, NoDra'ak had to admitted he had forgotten just how much he hated journalists. He could barely tolerate military journalists, but civilian journalists made his bladearm's tingle and itch. NoDra'ak moved on, a light jog at about fifteen miles an hour, passing by the signs reminding him that this was a 'slow mover trail'. The local insects were buzzing and chirping as he made a slow four minute mile to the next exercise. He moved up to the rings, reached over his head, grabbed them with his grasping hands, and slowly pulled himself up. He did ten reps, then relaxed. Reports, lawyers, and Immortals, he thought to himself as he slowly did stretching exercises. He knew he should just let it go, not let it color his viewpoints. But it took everything he had to keep from ordering the MP's from arresting and ordering the journalists to orbit. Preferably via mag-cannon. NoDra'ak sighed and then did another fifteen ring-pull reps, feeling his shoulder tendons ache. I need to just let it go and not let my prejudices run away with me, the big Treana'ad thought, doing another twenty slow reps. Just get through the trial and then I can go back to worrying about winning the war on 7th Army's front. He swung his arms back and forth before looping his bladearms into the rings and doing another slow set of reps. As long as I keep away from the journalists, I should be just fine. ------------- Second Lieutenant Lieutenant Jekstex and his three men showed up at their place of duty in their dress uniforms, sidearms cleaned and perfect, not a bit of fur out of place. Their dress boots were shined, their medals perfectly arranged, their hats and epaulettes in perfect placement. On the steps of the Bachelor Officer's Quarters a woman in a black suit was smoking a cigarette and staring at the grass. Sergeant Reptuk moved up, motioning at Jekstex, taking him aside. "What's wrong, Sergeant?" Jekstex asked. "Be very careful with this one, sir," the noncom said quietly. He tapped the white rings around his eyes. "I got a bit of the touch, sir. Got my boys through some serious shit, and I'm telling you, sir, be really careful with this one." Jekstex nodded. "She's one of the Immortals, correct?" Sergeant Reptuk shrugged. "I'm not sure. She just feels different, sir. I don't know how to explain it, but she feels more... dangerous, sir." "I'll take it under advisement, Sergeant," Jekstex said. "You're relieved." "I am relieved," the noncom said. He moved back and motioned to his three man party. "Let's go, men." The Terran woman sitting on the steps looked up, bared her teeth, and exhaled smoke from them, staring at the departing Telkans with gunmetal gray eyes. Her suit was a dark charcoal gray, almost black that was belted at the waist, with a white undershirt, thin black tie, and a strange looking pin on the left lapel. There was an arc of black buttons going from the left to the right on the bottom of the jacket, the highest button the lowest button on the opening of her jacket, which had really wide lapels from shoulder's almost to the belt. The skirt was knee length, pleated, with a thin white line just above the hem. She wore some kind of sheer black stocking and shined black shoes. It was the strangest looking outfit that Jekstex had ever seen. Jekstex moved up and saluted the woman. "Lieutenant Jekstex, Telkan Marine Corps, your escort, ma'am," he said. The woman exhaled smoke. "You don't exactly look like a male escort," she said, her voice deadpan. "Ma'am?" Jekstex asked, frowning. "Nevermind," the woman said. She stood up, looking around. "Where's that goofball Legion hiding?" "I can ask if you'd like, ma'am," Jekstex said. "I'm not talking to you," the woman said. There was barely restrained menace with a hint of anger in the woman's voice and Jekstex tried to figure out what he or his men had done wrong. The woman stared off into space before speaking again. "What do you mean they can't find a lawyer to act as the prosecution? How long are we going to be here?" Jekstex watched as the woman's hands suddenly balled into fists. Lightning crackled around her knuckles and Jacob's Ladder threads crawled up her forearms. "What do you mean until the trial is over? We have things to do," the woman snapped. She waved her hand. "You talk to that thug Daxin and that pipe smoking moron Menhit. Howdy-Doody is going to start coming apart at the seams soon." She sat down again, exhaling smoke with an irritated sounding huff. After a minute she looked at Jekstex. "How far away is the PX? I want a sausage dog with sauerkraut and mustard," she snapped. "Almost two miles. Do you want me to call a taxi, ma'am?" Jekstex asked. "Do I look like my legs were blown off in the war?" the woman snapped, standing up. She shook her head. "Let's go, fuzzy. Don't forget the Three Stooges." She set off, walking quickly, forcing Jekstex and his men to jog to keep up. Jekstex noted that the woman didn't have a datalink implant in her temple, nor did she have three burning red LED's at the base of her skull when she reached back and scratched her neck, parting her hair enough to get a glimpse of the back of her neck. "I can have a sausage-dog brought to you," Lieutenant Jekstex tried. Every time he tried to bring up which of the Immortals she was his datalink just flashed ERROR and half the time the woman's image grey fuzzed and static filled. "I'm bored and irritated, fuzzy," the woman said, still walking along at a fast clip. "I don't want it brought to me, I want to go and buy it, sit down with a pop and have a snack," she said. She exhaled smoke and shook her head. Jekstex was silent, just having to go at a slow jog to keep up with the Terran as they headed toward the Post Exchange. "Perhaps you'd prefer the Officer's Club, ma'am?" Jekstex asked. "God, no," the woman snorted. "Officers annoy me." "Perhaps the Enlisted Being's Club?" he tried. "I'm not looking to get laid yet, maybe later. And before you suggest the NCO Club, I'm not looking to get drunk and get in a fist fight before having sex in the bathroom," the woman snorted. "I want a sausage-dog." Before Jekstex could fully come to grips with what the woman had said a trio of humans stepped out of the bushes. All three had flycams with them and press badges on their chest. Figures reporters would survive the die-off, Jekstex thought to himself, getting ready to order the reporters to move. "What's the opinion of the Immortals regarding Trucker's actions in activating the..." one of them started, holding out a microphone. The woman slammed straight into them, without breaking stride. Jekstex noted that she straightened slightly, her shoulders coming back, almost like she was ramming into them with her mammaries. Two of the journalists stumbled to the side, the other managed to keep his feet but his face reddened. The woman kept walking. Before Jekstex could say anything the reporter that had not been knocked sprawling reached out and grabbed the matronly looking woman's arm. "Hey, that was assault!" the reporter cried out. There was silence for a moment and Jekstex could suddenly taste blood. "You dare lay your hands on me?" the woman said, her voice cold and hard. "You deliberately rammed into us. I'm allowed self-defense," the reporter said, still not letting go. "Unhand me, sirrah," the woman's voice was cruel sounding. "Answer our question," the reporter tried as his two colleagues got to their feet. "Do you know who you touch?" the woman asked, still not turning around. "Which Immortal are you?" one asked. "Are you Daxin's daughter? One of Legion?" another asked. "Tell us who you are!" the first one said, still holding on. He knew that he was skirting the line on assault, but as a journalist he usually got away with such things as a single column or mention from him could make or break a person's life. Jekstex grabbed one of the reporters, pulling them away from the woman. His three men followed, grabbing the other one and pulling him back as well as the one the LT had pulled away. The woman slowly turned, as if the journalist wasn't holding her arm, until she faced him. Her eyes were glowing red. "You wish to know who I am?" the woman asked, exhaling smoke that smelled to Jekstex of blood and rusting iron. "You dare lay your hands upon me?" "Which Immortal are you and what is your opinion on the use of the Black Cauldron?" the reporter said, smirking slightly. Once they started asking questions or interacting, the interview was as good as... The woman snapped her fingers. The ground cracked open at the reporter's feet. Hands and arms of blackened bone reached up up out of the crack as flame shot out. The reporter screamed as cruel hooks and barbs on chains whipped out of the crack and embedded themselves deep in his flesh. "You wish to know who I am?" the woman repeated, this time in a deep and rumbling voice. "You wish to know me?" The reporter screamed as one of his companions jumped forward and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him out of the crack as the hands and the chains dragged him into the burning smoking crack in the ground. "Do you wish to join your friend?" the woman asked. Her eyes were no longer red, just flat gunmetal gray. The journalist jumped back. "Let him go!" the third one said. LT Jekstex just stared, the same with his troops. She smiled, showing long incisors and sharp teeth. "You have always been mine," she said, her voice back to being a female Terran's voice. "Your ilk has served me since time immemorial. Maggots chewing and gnawing at decency to find or create rot and sin and gleefully gossip about it that you could feast upon the pain and anguish your gossip caused." The reporter was almost completely engulfed now. More chains and barbs came up, wrapping around his arms and head. Jekstex and his squad just stared. The crack in the ground slammed shut, only one arm out, and it was quickly pulled down. The woman chuckled, taking a drag from her cigarette. "Any other questions?" She asked with a smile that did not touch her eyes. The reporters just stared. "Run," she said softly. She held up her hand, her fingers ready to snap. "There is room for thee upon the plains of Gehenna." Jekstex watched as the two reporters ran, the fly-cams chasing after them. The woman turned around and started walking. "I could really go for a pop," she said. ------------ General NoDra'ak sat behind his desk, still in his exercise uniform, as the Immortal known as Legion entered his office in full dress. The Immortal didn't salute or come to attention, merely moved over to a seat and sat down. NoDra'ak could also see on his holoscreen that another of Legion was sitting down at a table with the thick bodied matronly looking Immortal, who was eating a sausage dog laden with mustard, relish, sauerkraut, and something called 'horse radish'. Legion had a 'polish dog' and a cup full of soda and he smiled at the matron, who smiled back. The four Telkan who were guarding her were about five meters away. "They should probably leave her alone," the Legion in NoDra'ak's office said. NoDra'ak looked at the thin dapper man. "Who is she?" Legion shook her head. "There would be no records of her. You would not have heard of her. Suffice to say, she is actually older than any of us, in a way." NoDra'ak watched as the woman took a big bite of her meal. "What happened to the reporter?" NoDra'ak asked. "That's a difficult question to answer," Legion said. He smiled as the version of him at the table took a bite of the food. "Oh, no wonder she wanted to go get one. That tastes exquisite. Greasy, hot, and spicy." NoDra'ak kept his body language silent as he lit a cigarette to mask his pheromones. He had no doubt that Legion could read his species body language and non-verbal cues. "Try. I'm going to have to answer," NoDra'ak said. Legion shrugged. "All right. You're looking at The Detainee," he said. "No other name. Just that. She has another name, a title, really." NoDra'ak looked at the holo then at Legion. "All right." "She's known as The Detainee, Lord of Hell," Legion said. NoDra'ak looked at the woman, who was sipping her carbonated drink through a straw. "She's in disguise," Legion chuckled. "Actually, that's how she looks to most people. Her other form is a lot more what you'd think of. Lots of muscles, chains, leather, a whip, claws, big bat wings. You know the look." "So... the reporter's in Hell?" NoDra'ak tried. He watched as the Legion on the holo asked a question. The Detainee stopped sipping at her drink, primly dabbed at her mouth with a napkin, then answered. "Yes. Bound to one of the Trees of Woe in Cocytus, the Ninth Circle of the Torments of Hell," Legion shrugged. "She wants to know if anyone would speak for him." "There aren't many humans left," NoDra'ak said, knowing his voice sounded less than convincing. He watched as Legion said something than the Detainee. "She doesn't care. All souls come to her," Legion said in the office. NoDra'ak sighed. "He's under my protection." He watched the long explanation. The woman primly used the napkin to blot away the mustard from the corner of her mouth. She then looked straight at the camera and NoDra'ak knew she could see him. She lit a cigarette, still staring at him, and exhaled smoke. The smoke poured from the hologram, filling the room. NoDra'ak could smell old iron, hot blood, burning rock, and the stench of ash that came from destroyed cities. He could hear screaming, wailing, begging, pleading, and prayers torn from suffering throats. The smoke cleared the room and a naked male Terran was on the floor, his body cut, bruised, abraded, and burnt. He had holes in his hands and feet, scars from burning hot chains around his arms, wrists, legs, and ankles. "She apologizes to you, General NoDra'ak, for taking what is yours. She advises you to teach this creature manners, for he touched her without her permission and spoke to her as if he was her better," Legion said. NoDra'ak looked up from the sobbing Terran male to stare at Legion. "We Immortals are to be respected," Legion stated, shrugging. "Be glad it wasn't Daxin, Daxin would have just killed him." As NoDra'ak watched Legion suddenly puffed out of existence. He checked the holoscreen and saw that the version of Legion sitting at the table was saying something to the thick bodied matron, who started laughing. The Detainee, the Lord of Hell? he thought, reaching out and thumbing the medical emergency alert. As he watched the medics whisk the reporter away it suddenly came to him. He started smiling as he prepared a quick message. --------- Legion looked up as the door to his apartment crashed open. Dee stood there, her eyes flashing with anger. She was holding a piece of honest to God parchment with calligraphic lettering on it. "What in the name of Billy the Kid's Balls is this?" she asked, waving it at Legion. "I don't know. What is it?" Legion asked. Dee stomped up and held it out to him. Legion took it and read it real quick. At first, he was shocked. Then he started laughing. "It's not funny!" Dee snarled. Legion laughed harder. The corner of Dee's mouth twitched. Legion tapped the part of the parchment which named "The Detainee, Lord of Hell, Servant of the Digital Omnimessiah" in elegant calligraphy, still laughing. Dee snickered. Legion laughed harder. Dee joined him, sitting in one of the chairs, holding her stomach, as she rocked back and forth and laughed. Finally it was over and Legion shook his head, tapping the parchment. "Are you going to do it?" Legion asked. Dee nodded. "Yeah. The faster we get this over with, the faster we get Trucker, the faster we can plan our assault on Heaven," Dee said. Legion shook his head and tapped the parchment. "You have to admit, the bug's got balls." ------------ The courtroom was silent as the officers of the court and the judge filed in. Trucker was brought in, dressed in his dress uniform with all his medals, his lawyer looking nervous and wishing he was anywhere but there. The judge sat down and looked at the prosecution. "Well?" she asked. "Where's your lead prosecutor?" No sooner had she said that then the lights flickered. Screaming could be heard, growing louder. A divot punched up from the floor, light and cinders erupting from it. A huge clawed hand burst from the divot, slapping onto the table. The stench of scorched warsteel, rusted iron, hot blood, and brimstone filled the courtroom. A massive creature, all muscle, brown skin, and chains, struggled out of the divot. Once it got loose the divot shrunk down, leaving the creature standing there, slowly flapping great bat-wings. It suddenly shivered, like jello, and shrunk down to a slightly plump matronly looking woman in a suit top and knee high skirt, her hair pulled back in a bun. "My apologies for tardiness, Your Honor," the woman said, her voice smoky and rich. "And you are?" the judge asked, feeling her body prickle with sweat. "The Detainee, Lord of Hell, and I'll be representing the prosecution," the woman smiled. "In the interests of the court, you can call me Miss Taynee." The judge noted that the flooring beneath the woman's feet was not unmarked. There were slight scorchmarks here and there. That, and holograms were easily disrupted and seen through thanks to countermeasures. "Very well. Court is in session, the Confederate Armed Services v. Manuel Trucker," the judge said. She tapped the silver bell. ----------- 7TH ARMY BUGLER All news! No rumors! THE DEVIL TO PROSECUTE GENERAL TRUCKER! You read that right! Style Blogs v3.0
As some of you have noticed, it has been a while since links in the sidebar have been updated. A lot of the previously suggested styleblogs were dead or changed domains. So with 2018 we are updating links in the sidebar and expanding the wiki. This is an update over the old thread. Acknowledging in 2018 (compared to 5 years ago) a lot of blogs do not produce a lot of interesting content on this subject at this point, really. The landscape has shifted from blogs and tumblr to instagram and youtube. The reality of running a blog involves revenue and that requires clicks. For discussion on blogs you can read this discussion from FFA and this blogpost on the state of blogs and how the online world has changed. However there are still quality blogs. Please help me fill out this sidebar material if you have anything to recommend. Note: Some NSFW content. Match Thread: Stoke vs Tottenham
Streams: Firstrow Wiziwig Other Stream Links Jag's stream Tottenham Starting XI: Lloris; Naughton, Dawson, Kaboul, Rose; Lennon, Chadli, Paulinho, Eriksen, Adebayor, Kanee Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Bentaleb, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Soldado Steffen Freund talks us through the lineup. I love this man. Stoke Starting XI: Begovic; Cameron, Wilson, Shawcross, Muniesa; Arnautovic, Whelan, Nzonzi, Odemwingie; Ireland; Crouch Subs: Sorensen; Pieters, Palacios, Adam, Walters, Assaidi, Wilkinson First Half 1' And we're off! 1' Earlier effort from Chadli as he drives though the heart of the Stoke midfield and lets loose a shot that is, in the end, high and wide. 5' Shawcross is down after a bit of a challenge from Ade. Looks to be making the most of it from replay. 7' Turnover in the midfield leads to a good break and a corner following a blocked cross on the right. 8' Aaron Lennon just crossed with his left foot everyone, I don't know what's real anymore. he's earned a corner with it too. 10' Naughton setting a good example for Rose on the right flank. Gets pushed down, but gets right back up and sprints in. Much better than laying down and hoping for a foul. 13' Dawson with a few blocked shots in quick succession, Chadli finally smacks the ball clear. 16' Kaboul showing his true colors as a left winger, goes bombing up the left side. After a bit of interplay tries a backheel to Eriksen. Ball is cleared out by Stoke. 21' Crouchy with a nice stiffarm on Hugo as they go up for a ball. Hugo claims after a little bit of bouncing 22' Rose wins a free kick and Eriksen's delivery is just too high. Begovic claims. 24' Would just like to point out that Timmy appears to be wearing his puffy vest underneath his suit coat. So yeah. 27' Good curling effort by Ireland for Stoke. Ended up going wide, but it forced Hugo into a dive. 28' Down at the other end, Kane drives inside on his right foot, but his shot at the far post is tame and easily caught and held by Begovic 29' Rose with a nice cross that was just out of Paulinho's reach, then Lennon's follow-up was well blocked. 31' Kaboul goes down hard after a clearance, but is up now and appears to be fine 33' Danny fucking Rose ladies and gentlemen!!!! Ade makes his defender look silly and puts in a picture perfect cross to the back post. Danny Rose shows his hops and heads it into the back of the net! 1-0 to Tottenham More angles Courtesy of /u/DireDireDuck 38' Ade tells the Stoke subs warming up on the sideline that they need to get the fuck out of his way. Ade telling Charlie Adam what's up. All gifs courtesy of /u/DireDireDuck 40' Stoke fans have decided that Ade is to be booed for having the audacity to want the subs to stay out of the game until, you know, they're actually in the game. 41' My stream momentarily switched to a guy standing out in the rain wearing what looked to be a Spiderman outfit under his coat. I'm unsure why. 43' Some good back and forth on the right flank for Stoke ends in a poor cross that is easily dealt with. 44' Naughton earns himself a yellow for pulling down Muniesa. 45' Yellow to Shawcross for putting Eriksen on the ground. Eriksen knocked the ball past him easily, but Shawcross wasn't about to let Eriksen get by too. 47' Lennon finds a good pass to Kane near the top of the box, but Kane's shot takes too long and he's blocked. Halftime Spiderman Fan update: He's still on his phone, though now that the rain is stopped he's taken his hood off and unzipped his jacket. We don't want David Moyes Second Half: 45' Back at it for the second half 47' Eriksen allowed to walk right up to the edge of the Stoke box, but his shot is blocked in the end by an outstretched leg. 49' Rose goes down under a challenge from Odemwingie, and is taken to the sideline momentarily. 50' Kane earns a free kick, and Mark Hughes is not very happy with it. 52' And Shawcross is sent off! He receives his second yellow of the match for a challenge on Danny Rose in the center of the pitch. Stoke are down to ten men. 53' Kane with a long range effort, but it's not too tough to Begovic to get down and save. 55' Kane lays the ball off for Lennon, and both he and Muniesa smash into it at the same time. Pieters also replaces Ireland for Stoke. Stoke fans still have not shut up about the red. 60' Another change for Stoke. Crouchy makes way for Assaidi. 63' Fantastic chance for Stoke. Attack down the right hand side is stifled well, but the ball out to the left finds some space. Good cross in is put over but an unmarked Odemwingie. 65' Danny Rose getting pissy, earns a yellow for shoving Cameron. He was right be be angry, Cameron bulled him over just moments before. Needs to calm down though. 68' We really are managing to look worse with a man advantage. N'Zonzi has his header go just wide. 69' Zeki replaces Rose. If I were him, I'd be so proud to get that kind of standing ovation from the Stoke fans. You know you did something right. 72' Cheky little pass attempted by Lennon. He tries to just lift it over the top of the defense to Ade, but it's well cleared. 73' Who needs defensive mids? Gylfi replaces Chadli. 80' Townsend on for Lennon I think? The guy was fucking with the streams. 80' Siggy creates some space for himself, but the end shot is a tame effort that goes harmlessly wide. 83' Townsend seems to have hurt himself chasing after his touch. Hopefully not the same issue he had against Arsenal. 86' Stoke have a penalty shout. Hughes is pissed, but what else is new? 87' Arnautovic with a great chance from Stoke, but his shot is poor and Hugo catches it easily. 91' Kaboul with some playmaking. Made the Stoke fullback his bitch, but his cross is cleared all the way through 91' Kane wins a free kick in Eriksen territory, and Arnautovic earns a yellow for taking him down. 93' Playing a bit of keep away in the corner. Zeki gives the ball away, but Paulinho's tackle saves us from having to defend the counter. 94' Paulinho really need to do better there. Clean through on goal, and he hits it right at Begovic.
