Deer Run Walking Pad

Anyone got any walking pad/treadmills recommendations? I keep getting sucked in by the deer run adverts but I'm a little dubious as trust pilot reviews are a bit sketchy and all social media content seems from people they've gifted things to.

I have been researching for a week which treadmill/walking pad for my NYC apartment and due to space and wanting a pad that can allow you to have space for your work laptop, I came down to DeerRun and Urevo. In the end, I purchased the Urevo foldimix 5L. Currently the price point is the same for each at $399.99. DeerRun has nice color selection in pink where as Urevo is plain black. I did notice that the DeerRun accepts FSA/HSA funds and 12% Auto Incline so that's pretty neat. The trial period for DeerRun is 60 days with 1 year warranty vs. 30 days with Urevo and 1 year +180 extended warranty. Reasons: you can mute the beep sounds didn't want to purchase a separate desk table can fit my laptop, iPad or phone while I walk can fit into my apartment the noise decibel claims to be closer to 35dB which is important since my husband has noise sensitivity claims to be a 3.0 maximum HP horse power there's some incline (9% auto incline) which is a plus I plan to share back how satisfied I am with my choice. I've been opening up budget walking pads to check what's actually inside, and I'm 0 for 2 on "brushless" claims under $200. Wellfit TM037 (~$150): Brand page says "Quiet Brushless Motor." Motor label reads "PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTORS", model 82-238, manufactured by Guangdong Wanrui. Two wires (red/black). Two-wire schematic on label. And of course: the big caps on the ends. Brushed motor. (Teardown details & photos, expand the Research section.) DeerRun Q2 Urban (~$170): Brand page says "Whisper-Quiet Brushless Motor." Motor label reads "PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTORS", model 75-238, manufactured by Jiang Yin Aotelai. Two wires. Brushed. (Teardown details & photos, expand Research.) Different brands, different motor factories, same false claim. Both Amazon listings conspicuously omit the word "brushless." It only shows up on the brand websites, where there's presumably less enforcment. This is a big deal because brushed motors wear out. They have carbon brushes that physically grind down. At 300-500 hours of rated brush life, that's 8-14 months of all-day desk walking before you're dealing with worn brushes, carbon dust in the windings, and eventual failure. They also run hotter and less efficiently (72-80% vs 85-92% for actual BLDC motors). In a sealed walking pad with minimal airflow, that extra waste heat feeds on itself: hotter motor, more resistance, more current, more heat. That's why cheap pads shut down after 30-45 minutes. Real brushless motors don't have wear parts. Lifespan is limited by bearings, not brushes, typically 3-5x longer. They run cooler, quieter, and draw less current. It's the single biggest thing that determines whether a walking pad lasts. The horsepower numbers are also inflated. DeerRun's motor: 90V x 5.9A = 0.60 CHP. Wellfit's: 105V x 6.3A = 0.75 CHP. Both market "2.5-3.0 HP", but that's peak, roughly 4x the sustained output. A pad running 0.60 CHP is working way harder to move you than one running 0.99 CHP, which means more heat and faster wear. Continuous horsepower is what determines how long a motor runs without overheating, and Wellfit's BBB F rating tells you how the company handles it when things break. What to look for instead. If a brand publishes FCC filings, motor wattage, or a CHP/duty rating, that's a good sign. If they just slap "brushless" on the product page with no specs backing it up, be skeptical. The Amazon-vs-brand-site discrepancy is a solid red flag. Two brands I've found that are honest about their motors: UREVO SpaceWalk 5L (verified 735W brushless motor label, S1 continuous duty, 0.99 CHP), and Toputure (openly labels their motors as brushed, no pretense). I have tried troubleshooting this by tightening and loosening the screws to align the belt. It looks like it's perfectly middle-aligned when it's running without anyone using it. As soon as me or my partner hop on, the belt slides to the right almost immediately. I'm at a complete loss! Hey everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for a high-quality under-desk walking pad for long daily use. Ideally, I'd walk 6+ hours a day (15km+) while working, so durability is by far my top priority. From what I’ve seen, a lot of popular models (UREVO, WalkingPad, DeerRun, etc.) don’t seem to hold up well under heavy daily use. I’ve come across quite a few reports of overheating or motors wearing out relatively quickly. So I’m wondering: Are there any walking pads that can actually handle 6+ hours of daily use long-term? i’ve been waffling on a deer run walking pad/treadmill (z10) but think i’m officially off. i love that i could use my fsa but based on the very mixed reviews at hesitant. i want a treadmill to do 12-3-30 and jog (at like a 5.2 - 5.5). this treadmill will live in a garage at the jersey shore and will really only be used in the summer on the weekends. i want something compact that i can stash away when not in use (said garage has a lot in it). i’m 5’3 with short legs and well under weight capacity so belt length shouldn’t be a HUGE issue. i also don’t want to spend a TON of money given t how often it’ll be used. i had an extensive conversation with chat gpt about deer run and it sort of convinced me it was THE one to get until i came here. that said. it also suggested: - ProForm Carbon TL Treadmill - Horizon Fitness T101 Treadmill - Sole F63 Treadmill truly appreciate any insight from those who know more than me!! Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a walking pad for my Dad and could use some advice from people who have used them for recovery or physical therapy. My Dad recently had a pretty significant knee injury and his PT recommended light, consistent walking to help rebuild his strength. Since we live in an area with unpredictable weather (and he’s a bit of a fall risk right now), I’m looking for the best walking pad with handle that is sturdy enough to give him peace of mind but compact enough to store away when he’s not using it. I may be being a bit too specific in my criteria but I’m looking for a 2-in-1 walking pad/treadmill which could feasibly be used under a standing desk as a walking pad or as a treadmill when fully expanded. Something like the design of this Viavito Stridemate: https://www.sweatband.com/products/viavito-stridemate-walking-pad where the bar is collapsible. Not sure if anyone has this product or anything else by the manufacturer. In terms of speed, nothing over the top for the walking speeds and running speeds on the treadmill shouldn’t need to exceed 12kmph but I’d be wary about hitting the top speed on the product… I’m being bombarded by Deer Run products on my social media ads but from what I’ve read here they should be avoided! I work from home and recently bought a standing desk with the intention of buying a walking pad. I'm quite overweight, and see most walking pads are around a 240 lb maximum. I almost pulled the trigger on the WalkingPad X25 last night which is foldable and a 300Lb maximum, but then realized it didn't fold. Does one with all 3 exist, or is it kind of a "you can only choose two" scenario? The foldable aspect is the least important of the 3, but would be really nice since I live in an apartment. Does anyone recommend where to look for one that'll get daily use? WalkingPad seems to have the most brand recognition, and DeerRun seems to have a good selection of incline pads. I’ve had this walking pad since around August or September of this year and recently during a long walking session it started to smell like something was burning. I then stopped using it for the day and resumed using it like normal for a couple days with no issues. Then out of nowhere it started acting up. As seen in the video, at lower speeds, the belt would barely move once I stepped on it, almost like it was slipping or the motor couldn’t keep up. If I increased the speed, it would move, but it felt very jerky and uneven underfoot. I lubricated the belt with 100% silicone treadmill lubricant (following the manufacturer’s recommendations), but now the treadmill still sounds almost like a lawnmower even when running idle with no one on it. As soon as I step on it, the noise gets worse and it sounds like the motor is working way harder than it should. There’s also a noticeable clicking/rumbling sound that wasn’t there before. The belt appears centered and I haven’t adjusted belt tension yet. For context: • I’m 6’0” • Not heavy (well under the stated weight limit) • Using it for walking only (no running) • Typically longer sessions (1–2 hours for step goals) Has anyone else experienced this with the Pit Pat / Deer Run walking pads? Hello, I would like to get a walking pad for home. I narrowed my choices down to the UREVO Strol 2S Pro & DeerRun Z10 Pro Muse. Both are on sale for Black Friday and wanted to take advantage of the low price. I narrowed it down to these choices because of the auto-include, handles. Hallo. I bought a new walking pad. It is a deer run treadmill for just under a desk. Had to do some tinkering to get it balanced out, but I noticed it makes a sound only when I’m walking on it. I’ve only got socks on in the vide because I’m not gonna get this thing dirty if I have to return it. By itself it is completely silent when it runs, which is great. But when I’m on it and just walking (165lbs so not even near the max weight), it just makes this sound with every step that reminds me of a car zipping by or like a leaf blower. It’s just loud and totally inconvenient. This is my first walking pad, and I’m very close to just returning it if I can’t get it to be quiet as promised! I already made sure it was level, and lubed it up as much as I could. I couldn’t find a reddit page for just Deer Run so here I am… So I bought one of their walking pads because i saw so many ads and the sale was good so i bought the walking pad and a handrail. that may have been a mistake, haha. My issues so far: The handrail came a couple of weeks after the treadmill. Not the biggest deal, but I did have to email them to ask where it was. Then the handrail came, and the treadmill was not laying flat across the bottom bar or on the ground so it was wobbly and I couldn’t use it because the belt would scrape against that bar. I emailed them about it, asking for a return/refund, and they sent me a video with these “accessory packs” to help which i didn’t get, or maybe i did but accidentally threw them out, which is also possible. They didn’t even respond to my inquiry about the return so I just gave up on that and had been using the handrail backwards. Everything was going fine up until a week ago, when the belt started shifting to the right or left and scraping against the plastic, which was not only ruining the belt but also the plastic. (video attached of this) i don’t know how many times i unscrewed and screwed the bolts at the end of the treadmill to fix the alignment of the belt. literally no matter how tight they were, the belt would go to the left or the right. i tried screwing and unscrewing the bolts multiple times every day, holding out hope it would work for just a few minutes so i could get some steps in (i’m trying to lose weight, walking every day is a part of my process). until last night i just said screw it and i called them because i wanted to talk to a human. she told me to email pictures and a video, which I did. this morning i get a response that says they can offer a half refund on the handrail as they’re typically nonrefundable (since i can’t use the treadmill, i also can’t use the handrail) and sending me “guide hooks” for the belt and sending a video to see how to attach them. their other option was to return the treadmill. so, i guess what im looking for is if anyone has had a bad experience like me with deer run and if anyone has those guide hooks and can show what they look like, or if they’re even worth it. i’m honestly at the point where i just want to return it but i wanted to see if others experienced the same issues i did. submitted by /u/ProtectionSpirited10 to r/treadmills [link] [comments]

Preface: my car is a 2018 Toyota Camry. It's completely paid off; I own it outright and hold the title in hand. I live in Vermont. I work from home, so my car usually sits in my driveway. My partner's friend moved up to VT about 3 months ago, they were childhood friends. They recently asked to borrow my car to meet some family members from Florida about the half-way mark on the I-95 corridor, as they couldn't afford an air ticket to fly out. After a discussion they agreed to pay for gas and meet them half-way, about 550 miles or so, and stay at a hotel for the weekend, leaving Friday and returning Tuesday. My partner and I had no reason to doubt her, and after a few days of talking about it, agreed to let her take it there. She had a license and had cash in hand for gas and tolls. I installed an AirTag in the car about a year prior just in case it ever got stolen, it may help recover it. I didn't tell them this. They were aware that my keychain has an AirTag on it as well, in case I ever lost my keys. Well, what happened is our friend drove straight to Florida claiming to "handle some legal issues" and that weekend turned into a week-and-a-half, nobody answered her phone and finally we got a text at night with an excuse that the brakes were bad and the fan belt was falling apart, the alternator was shot and that the car was unsafe to drive. After some pressing, I offered to pay for the brakes to be done and the belt to be replaced. It would cost about $100 out of pocket, but the place she is staying at is her boyfriend, a mechanic. Reluctantly we sent $100 via Venmo to get the parts they promised to put on the car to drive back. We didn't hear back again after calling repeatedly and texting for days. Finally, a reply promising to be back on 3/24. Then yesterday we got a text that her boyfriend's grandmother died, and she had to help plan arrangements for her boyfriend's grandmother and that her paycheck would take 3 days to clear, so she was out of money. After many attempts to get her on the phone to talk to her, I got a text back claiming "I'm so sorry, I know you hate me, but I have no way to get back, I have no job and no money for gas, I'm sorry IDK what to do" and I've had no other contact for about 24 hours now. We didn't want to believe it, at every step, it seemed "no... she wouldn't pull that" -- but it appears they have no intentions of coming back. I'm worried that they may just try to steal the car or worse, sell it or take it apart, seeing as how she already had named various systems on the car "were bad and had to be changed as the car seemed unsafe" - the car had 140k miles, all by me and I had zero issues with anything before they left. I've been on little to no sleep all night pondering how to handle this. What legal rights do I have? The car is paid off, so it can't be repossessed. I have the title in hand. I paid it off January 2024. my partner has a car, but they need it for work, as they work in healthcare I can't take it; they have to drive their clients around. I work from home, so I can take some time off, but that was my car they have. I'm debating trying to coax them to drive back and somehow I can pay for the gas, but if the car is out of gas NOW I have no way to know any money I send will go to fill it up at all, and even then, how do I pay for gas back on the route for the next 1100 miles to my house (and tolls)? I don't want to just send money to something already shady. Do I take time off work and fly from VT to FL and go take it back? That seems very expensive to do, and I'm not so good on long-distance driving anymore. Having it towed from their house 1100 miles to VT doesn't seem feasible either. I didn't want to tip my hand that the car has a tracker, and I didn't want *** TELL THEM THAT I'M GOING TO *** go the route of "I'm reporting it stolen" because I think IF there's anything shady going on, the car will just disappear or get sold. The value of the car is about $8,000-10,000 last I checked. Other family members we reached out to of hers said that she hasn't talked to them in a while and won't answer the phone or texts. I gave them all the info I have and what they asked for: her driver license number and info, I took a photo of it prior to her leaving her physical description (height, weight, eye and hair color) her social media profile with her last known post showing her sitting in the car at the AirTag's address the address of the vehicle & the address of the keys as shown in FindMy app (same place for now) my year/make/model and color of the car, and physical description of known damage on the vehicle my registration tag numbers and the color of the plates my insurance policy number my VT driver's license number The officer will want to verify the title and talk to me when they come out. I'm in a small town in Vermont; we don't have a police constable or RST. We have a county sheriff. They will work with me to make a determination. I have a phone log of who I talked to and when, and why. The woman on the phone said because this is over state lines, and the value of the vehicle this would be considered grand theft auto. The boyfriend or whoever owned the bar and knowingly keeping stolen property would be on the hook for other crimes that would be determined by the local police in Florida. Side note: her aunt checked the room she was staying in and found a few credit cards written down on Post-it notes. She held a job at a local gas station, and thankfully none of the numbers line up with any of my partner's or my own. I handle the finances, and I keep all my cards close to the vest. For now, I didn't mention this to the police as I don't want to complicate MY issue of retrieving my car. What a mess! Edit 3/24 part 3: Contact has been made! After the confab with the sheriff, I told her aunt that I planned to press charges and know her exact location. Suddenly within 15 minutes the woman called me in stark fear crying and begging me not to call the cops that she would leave tomorrow morning after putting the alternator back in the car. She claims to be on 26+ hours of no sleep and out of money so I gave her the following options: Option 1: she begs or borrows $20 from her supposed boyfriend, his sister or whomever lives there in that compound… use it to fill half a tank and start driving north to the Georgia border, and take a picture of the car next to the welcome sign. I’ll PayPal another $20 and she keeps driving northeast to I-95N, rinse repeat at the interstate rest stops until it’s parked in my driveway. Deviate or ghosting? Cops called to the AirTag. Option 2: She ghosts me without a call by noon tomorrow with a voice call or facetime video of the car attempting to start and put back together, the cops are being called for a stolen vehicle, she’ll be arrested for GTA, and whatever else the cops deem prudent. This had her bawling on the phone, but she said “OK I’m sorry! I never meant for this to happen” over and over. Option 3: Me telling her to close the hood and put all the parts in the trunk, calling AAA and having it towed to the nearest Toyota branded dealership. I call that dealership and sell them my car as is, taking the loss, and being done with it. Gate locked? Hiding in the woods in their deer blinds? Report the car stolen and cops are called. See option 2… things handled the hard way. Update 3/25 part 1: Got a call this morning. She's fixing the alternator. The sheriff won't be here until tomorrow, and I can't get to the office without a car so I'm stuck at home. She has until the sheriff arrives to either get the car running and back to me, let me know it won't start so I can call AAA, or I'll report it stolen. Update 3/25 part 2: the car is being driven back while watching the keychain. As milestones are reached her aunt and I will be sending just enough money to fill the tank for another 300 miles. Update 3/26: car is now 1/2 way up Georgia heading North Update 3/25 part 2: car disappeared off the FindMy for an hour and had me on edge, but was able to make contact with her via phone call and it was just a bad service area. My finger is still hovering over the proverbial police button if I feel any hijinks is going on. The county sheriff should arrive sometime today. I’ll explain the situation and that as long as forward progress is being made and the car is returned without mechanical damage or missing/swapped parts, I’m not pressing charges. At this point the motivation is all stick and no carrot. Once I actually called the cops to file a report, suddenly she was very attentive and made the effort to bring it back. My partner wants nothing to do with her anymore. She has written her off as a friend and wants no contact and I fully support my partner’s decision. Her family up here knows the situation and is prepared to intervene when she gets home to offer the choice of putting her on a plane to live in Florida or go to a shelter here to get her life back in order; that’s between her and her family. Shame it came to this over some abusive dick in Florida and/or drugs rather than a comfortable life with family and friends here in VT. Update 3/25: part 3 car is now approx. 10 hours away. She stopped for the night, will resume tomorrow. Sheriff blew me off. I called them and requested a non emergency visit tomorrow incase things go literally south, we’ll see. Update 3/27: after a wrong way off the I-95 split was taken in the middle of the night, she’s back on track. Her aunt caught it and called her. Idk why her google maps had her go west instead of literally I95N to I91N to Vermont. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m calling the Sheriff office again to find out why no Sheriff was sent to my residence, either. Sheriff was supposed to be here Tuesday or Wednesday, but nobody called or showed up on my security cams. Not even a drive-by. Update 3/28: my car is at the aunt’s house next town over; they are cleaning the interior and doing the drive of shame to my house within the hour. I’ll have to inspect it, and I’ll update this post after I pop the hood. Update 3/28: the car has been returned to my driveway. No external damage and the belt was indeed changed. Cannot see the brake pads but will take it for a test drive at lunch to feel if those are new. It wad detailed and filled with gas. Final update 3/28: I checked the car the belt was indeed changed. I don't have the tools or time to pull the alternator out and check, so I'll schedule a 150k mile service to have them look at it further. The car doesn't look abused. She actually detailed it and washed the car. I told her I won't be press charges, and she seems genuinely sorry for not staying in contact, which made things worse for the whole ordeal. I don't want to condemn someone who did the right thing in the end. Did I do the right thing? That depends on so many factors. She has her own issues to deal with, and maybe she can get help from a rehab center or shelter. Introspection: A lot and I mean a lot of people told me to simply get revenge by sending her to prison with felonies. I have always tried to see the good in people, even when it's not deserved. I believe deep down that people aren't born evil and their intentions aren't inherently bad. After I talked to her today in person, I truly believe she didn't intend to steal the car. I just don't have the capability to just shut off my emotions and condemn someone who tried to make things right. My partner and her lost their friendship, trust, and respect. She's no longer allowed on my property, and we're not helping her anymore. Character flaw or not, this is the decision I made and stand by. I've had my own past experience and run-ins with the law. At 21, I faced serious charges over a stupid incident trying to impress some coworkers who were giving me a hard time. Coworkers who pretended to accept me but turned me in anyway. It took many years and a good, expensive lawyer to prove I wasn't the criminal the public read about in the paper. I read the replies and stayed up for many nights thinking about reporting the car stolen. It's really not an easy decision. On paper it is. Over the internet it is, because there's no humanity tied to it. I actually DID make the call, but the sheriff never showed up, even after a follow-up call which I'm not happy about. The real issue here was lack of communication. If she'd simply stayed in touch, we could've avoided the panic. When I hadn't heard back and finally told her aunt the cops were called, she finally took it seriously after her family called her to let her know. But since the sheriff never came, who really knows what would've happened if I actually wanted to press charges. Lessons learned: Don't lend your property if there's another option. A bus pass or train ticket would've been better Communicate clearly. If someone takes your stuff without explaining, you're left guessing and worrying Don't rely on small-town Sheriffs - after calling in my stolen vehicle, they didn't seem to prioritize it... at all I read all the replies and suggestions. I'm creating a big comparison of popular walking pads: ocdevel.com/walk. I'll add one treadmill per day, starting with the most frequently recommended; then filling out each brands' full inventory. WalkingPad / KingSmith / Xiaomi, Urevo, EgoFit, GoPlus, Sperax, Sunny Health, Yagud, GoYouth, SupeRun, Elseluck, Lichico, Rythm Fun, DeerRun, etc. I keep seeing review sites dumping lists of poor products; presumably a web-scrape of Amazon sorted by popularity. This popularity tends towards fake reviews (use FakeSpot!); time in the game (age is generally bad, the tech improves); or SEO (I'm looking at you WalkingPad). Mine is a tool from someone obsessed with walking pads. I sleuth these subreddits like a maniac, am part of Discords, etc. I'm currently a Urevo boy, but I'll keep testing treadmills and changing that page. I really want to try Walkolution 2, but god that price... I went on a journey of GoYouth -> EgoFit -> Urevo, and got lots of engagement in the process, so I wanted a sophisticated ranking system to make choosing easier. The Rank column is a weighted sum of each products' attribute-score. Weighted because some attributes are more important. And attribute scores themselves have complex logic. Eg dimensions is "how does each dimension (of 3) rank relative to the tables' min/max". And Rating is "star-rating (Amazon), down-weighted if too few ratings, modified by FakeSpot (both company and model), and considering 1-star-skew". I'll keep dialing in my calculators over time. Also, every time I see a real complaint / review (Reddit, Discord, etc), I +/-1 the "Sturdy" score for that model / brand. Just bought a walking pad, delivered today. I did not connect to Bluetooth or wifi. I just plugged it in, the machine beeped and the menu lit up. When I press the start button on the remote it will not start the belt. I changed the battery to a new one just in case the factory one was damaged. Nothing. No errors and the pad is flat.
