Apparently, April 2026 saw an actual shortage of Diet Coke in India, as reported by The Hindu. People had genuinely bought so much of it that supply could not keep up. At that point, I had to accept this was not just a passing phase. What really got me was the term that emerged from all this: "fridge cigarette." I really don't understand this Diet Coke Wave !!
Bro I have seen this that before these past few months only a few people were consuming diet coke. It was not at all a big thing like it is now. People had their favourites like thumbs up, sprite, etc. But now if I ask someone about their favourite soft drink, they straight up say Diet Coke. All of a sudden this Diet Coke Wave has emerged. Like wherever you see people are crazy about Diet Coke like how and why? In my opinion, it tastes quite similar to normal coke. I believe that people are just following the trends and aesthetics to fit in society so that people find them cool. Maybe some people might genuinely love diet coke but in my opinion it is not that special considering the amount of attention it gets. The only pro i see in Diet Coke is its calorie count. But is it that big a factor?
