Truck campers that retain bed functionality with both living and sleeping space
I’m looking for a new truck cap with living space and sleeping functionality. Currently I have a decided system and an ARE cap and we use a trifold mattress when we’re sleeping it the truck. I’m looking for a camper with more living space functionality with a better sleeping set up. The issue I see with a lot of hard shell style campers is that they’re so committed to a great living space that the truck bed utility goes out the window without removing the camper entirely. I recognize jacks are an option, but I’d prefer a permanent setup. The moonlander x fits this mold almost perfectly. The only thing it lacks is an OEM table. But I’m curious if there are other brands that fit this niche. Are there caps that are similar in concept to the moonlander? The pop up caps are very cool but it seems like it’s going to require more DIY for the living space functionality than I want to get into. submitted by /u/HOMESTEADJED to r/overlanding [link] [comments]

Help with Truck Bed Camper Storage
I bought one of those pop up campers and I wanted to build out the interior of the bed with some light wood for storage like the picture. Anyone found DIY instructions or have personal experience on how to build, what kind of wood, etc. Thanks! submitted by /u/CMCdaGoat to r/FordMaverickTruck [link] [comments]

Looking for Interior Truck Bed Builds
Hi, buying a pop-up camper and want to build out the bed of my truck for a place to sit and have extra storage underneath. Anyone have any links to DIY projects or youtube videos? Could not find anything when I searched. Truck is a Ford Maverick so a little smaller and I would adjust accordingly. submitted by /u/CMCdaGoat to r/TruckCampers [link] [comments]

DIY 6.5 ft truck bed camper that fits 2 ppl, 2 big dogs, and has a lounge area and maybe a kitchen
Hello; I’m looking for information on building a camper that fits 2 people and 2 dogs on an f250. I’ve been looking for videos on YouTube, posts on Facebook, and TikTok, all of them is for 1 person. On YouTube I’m specifically looking at Endgame videos, I really like his campers and how he built them. But I’m looking for someone that has done a bed for 2 that can be modular and put away at least one or two sections and leave one either amplifying the space inside the trailer by having them overhead or converting the bed in the seating area. Are there any creators that has done something like this in a DIY? submitted by /u/Berryberly96 to r/TruckCampers [link] [comments]

Best ways to remove a wedge-style truck camper (Super Pacific / GFC style)?
Hey all — looking to crowdsource some ideas and real-world experiences here. I’ve got a wedge-style truck camper (Super Pacific X1) and I’m trying to figure out the best way to remove it when needed so I can use the truck bed normally between trips. I’ve come across Rapid Topper (https://rapidtopper.com/), which seems like exactly what I’m looking for conceptually, but I’ve seen a few comments online suggesting they may not be very responsive or possibly not actively in business anymore — so I’m hesitant to commit without hearing from folks who’ve actually used it. I’ve also seen a handful of DIY garage winch / ceiling hoist setups on YouTube and forums. They look a bit more involved to build, but possibly easier and faster once dialed in. Curious what others are doing: Have you found a commercial solution you like for removing a wedge camper? Are garage ceiling hoists the way to go long-term? Any clever DIY setups that are safe and repeatable? Things you wish you’d known before building/buying a system? I don’t need to remove it constantly, but I’d love something that’s safe, repeatable, and doesn’t require 3–4 people every time. Appreciate any advice, photos, or links — thanks! submitted by /u/askallthepeople to r/overlanding [link] [comments]

Hard sided popup camper DIY!
This turned out so well!! (Transparency I’ve built a lot of things.. this turned out so well I think I can sell them) It’s 7 foot three inside with the top up. It is 4 foot five with the top down so you can sit down inside comfortably in a lawn chair. It’s a 6 1/2 foot bed but feels so much bigger with the top up. You can sleep east/west even with the top down. It weighs 500 pounds and this is designed to be put on like a truck cap. It’s hard metal roof (aluminum)and hard metal sides that fold. Everyone makes them in composite and I’ve had too many times that a metal roof deflected a branch falling from above to upper trust a composite panel!! @amblecampers on Facebook submitted by /u/Wanderer351 to r/TruckCampers [link] [comments]

Winter truck camper tips!?
Hey guys! This will be my first winter with my Northern Lite 610 and I’m hoping to still use it in the winter to chase the snow in the backcountry and at the resorts ! I won’t be living in it just taking it out if there’s a good storm system to do 1-3 nights in it maybe longer !? I’m wondering if anyone has any tips to efficiently keep heat in? Do you get insulated covers for the windows etc. ? Also does anyone have any ideas or diy pictures of where to keep skis and snowboards? I saw someone who build lockable cabinets in the space between the camper and truck bed but can’t find the pictures to copy for the life of me! Last question! I have a 2016 Tacoma 4wd with BFG all terrain K02s, would you guys recommend carrying tire chains or any other equipment to be safe? First time camper owner so I appreciate the help, thanks in advance ! ET submitted by /u/Elliottblake18 to r/TruckCampers [link] [comments]

My DIY Truck cap camper
This started out just as a free ladder rack someone gave me and I decided to use that as the frame for my camper so I wouldn’t worry when I put a boat on top of it. It took me awhile to decide how I wanted to build it and ended up using a couple different people for inspiration hopefully this will help someone else looking for new ideas. The whole thing probably weighs around 700LB if I had to take a guess and I use the eye bolts to lift it on and off the truck (rated to 3000lb each) The interior still needs to be finished but I had run out of time for my trip to Manitoba on the hunt for tiger trout. Still was super cozy though! submitted by /u/venture_out_fishing to r/TruckCampers [link] [comments]
