I replaced my v8 absolute+ for the V10 Submarine. but I’m having trouble setting it up correctly. It takes me around 5 minutes each time to attach it properly, and if it’s not connected right, no water comes out of the tank, so it doesn’t wet clean the floor. Bought a ~$1,000 Dyson vacuum. Within months: nearly unusable. Support confirmed it’s a known, widespread issue. Diagnostics were actually slick. But then: No replacement parts No ETA No replacement unit (even though repair = basically the whole machine) Told to call back myself to check if parts become available They’re fully aware of the defect. They’re still selling the product. And the “solution” is for customers to chase them indefinitely. Hello. First time poster here. I likely damaged my 6 year old V11, the older model with the battery that screws in. I ran it while the filter was clogged and wet. So I got the blue light ten times flashing and searching online, it suggested that was a battery issue automatic shutdown. So I got a new Battery from Amazon that was well reviewed. It seems to charge as the blue light flashes on the surface of the battery but leaving it charged overnight, with new filter and battery it is still dead. Nothing whatsoever on the display. So, it's obviously more broken but now I've made an investment in battery and filter 2-pack, I'm wondering if it's worth fixing, how difficult it is to open it up and take a look. I just bought a brand new Dyson V11 from an acquaintance who got it as a gift. This person is solid and is willing to buy it back if the warranty is not adequate (which I’ve set to 1 year 6 months). Apparently warranty begins 3 months after manufacturing date if you don’t have the invoice. The box has a date on it as I’ve shown in the picture. I’m wondering if that is September 19, 2025 or September 25, 2019. I strongly think it’s the former because I don’t believe the V11 Extra existed back in 2019. Hello. I have some issues with my Dyson V11. I cleaned all its openings with compressed air (not canned, but high pressure compressor). I didn't disassembled it. I also washed the filter with water. After that it's running normally only in Turbo mode. In Eco and Medium modes is pulsing and it stops after about 10 seconds. It shows this behavior with all the accessories attached. Hello everybody, i recently bought a new filter for our old Dyson V11 (bought in 2017) as the old one was the original one and could not be cleaned very good anymore, but the vacuum has been running fine, after buying the new filter - directly from dyson and installing it, the vacuum started pulsating, when switching back to the old filter, it did nit pulsate at all, I told Dyson about the issue, they told me its a faulty filter and send me another one, it came yesterday and it is doing the same thing, so i took apart the vacuum as i did it a couple of times before without issues to check if there is anything stuck, but could not find anything, but I have cleaned it atleast. After trying the new filter, the same thing happens, it keeps pulsing unless i put my hand on the inlet, then it stops, tried using both cleaner heads, but none of them are spinning at all, I have read some discussions on here, seems a lot people suggest in similiar situations that the motor is on its way out, but it just seem weird to me that it has no issues with the old filter. Bought my Dyson V11 Fluffy on March 25 this year. Did some completely normal vacuuming today, then put it on the charger like always. A bit later I checked the battery status and noticed the screen looked like this (photo attached). The display now has weird lines/artifacts and a black damaged-looking corner. The vacuum: has never been dropped has no physical damage hasn’t been exposed to water worked normally before charging Everything else still seems to function. Has anyone had this happen randomly? Could this be a display failure/battery issue/software issue, or is the screen itself just dying? I’m assuming warranty should cover this since it’s only a few months old. The plastic on top of the screen has no damage to it on the surface. It looks like a cracked LCD that’s what bothers me. I'm looking for a main vacuum to go along with my dyson v11. I've had it for years, no issues, but it's not the best for dusting baseboards or overhead etc. I also have a miele dynamic u1 that I hate and regret buying, it's just too heavy and the hose feels like i'm fighting a bungee cord. I have a rancher with all hard floors and area rugs, thickest rug is a little over 0.6 inch, a runner that's low pile, the rest are medium. Hey everyone, I was looking into vacuums and stumbled onto this sub. Let’s start with, I hate vacuuming. I have a Roomba i7 that does most of the work, I vacuum the corners or sweep them when not a deep clean and we have a regular pet vacuum for the couch. This was enough on our old apartment, but now we moved into a townhouse that is three floors. It’s horrible to vacuum the stairs now and the roomba can’t do it. We wanted a versatile cordless vacuum that could double as a vertical vacuum and a handheld to vacuum other surfaces. The Dyson seems to be decent on paper and a good complement to what we do, but seems like in this sub people aren’t a fan of it. We just want something that works and does the job, that’s convenient as well. We have a dog, so that’s why we are inclined on the v11 advanced, as we could use this to vacuum the couch. The house is all hardwood floors with some rugs Would this be a terrible purchase? I’m happy if it lasts 8 years. If not what would you recommend? I’m from Denmark. I’ve had my Dyson V11 for about 3ish years now. It’s never been used super strenuously since up until a couple of months ago I lived in a small studio so there wasn’t a lot of ground to cover lol. About 3 weeks ago I was vacuuming off my couch and my Dyson started doing that sputtering where it kicks on for 3 seconds or so and kicks off and so on. Now, when I press the trigger it doesn’t even start up it just makes this sound like it’s about to then cuts out. I’ve cleaned the filter, made sure there’s no visible clogs, etc. I’m curious if anyone knows what might be wrong and if it’s fixable. Hi Dyson Community! I got a problem. After 6 years I notice a significant drop in performance of my V11. With the normal hard floor attachment the vacuum is hardly getting any sand or gravel/small stones and breadcrumbs off the floor. Dust is no issue. Now my question is, is this due to battery problems? I clean the filter regularly and spray dust the whole thing. So this shouldn’t be an issue. Can someone help me? I tried many solutions to this; some community and others commercial but all of them came up short. They either were a piece that I would lose, or they restricted the operation of the trigger when attached. There had to be a better way….. So, sat on my sofa one evening I was thinking about the V11 (as you do) and triggers when a thought entered my head: “What else has a trigger? Firearms have triggers. Some firearms have cross-bolt safeties or cross-trigger safeties that lock the trigger out. What if a cross-trigger safety could work in reverse?” So, I took a scan of the V11 and got CAD'ing. I have a V11 and I feel like it does a good job with my dog’s insane shedding. But it does a poor job on small tiny pieces of dirt or tiny bits of dog treats. All it does is push them around, not sucking them up. So Dyson told me to buy the soft roller cleaner head. It picks up the bits of dirt/treats great… But sucks at hair! I’ve had my Dyson V11 for just over year now and I can honestly say as hard as I try to like it I’ve been disappointed from day one. Got it as an Xmas gift and was really happy but I’ve found it becomes blocked to the point of not working pretty much every time I use it, I can’t use the highest setting on it, the regular setting is very weak, it spits half of what you have hoovered up out as soon as you turn it off and I’m having to constantly clear its airways out. I have a dog and a cat but have always hoovered daily so there is no crazy build up of hair that should be causing the hoover to struggle yet it just doesn’t seem to perform! Canadian Tire has the V8 for $600 but you get $150 in Canadian tire money or the V11 for $600. From what I can see the V11 comes with one extra attachment which is the combination tool. Our house is 50/50 hardwood and carpet but the hardwood sees more traffic and needs cleaning more often. And we have a dog. Is the $150 difference worth going for the V11? I don’t think we will have issues with battery life in either but I do think the design of the V11 canister is nice. Seems easier to dump?
