Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean Extra, keeps making beeping noise an pulsating
Does anyone know what could be the issue? Is it the battery, motor, main body etc? Edit - Replacing the motor solved the issue. I got a motor from Ali Express for 85$. Check some videos on how to replace motor; disconnecting the terminals and pin is a bit of work. Or replace the whole module, it’s only like 20$ more. submitted by /u/sky29403 to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Thinking about a Dyson (maybe V15) — looking for real advice
Hey everyone, I’m in the market for a new vacuum and trying to decide if a Dyson is worth it or not. I’ve been seeing a lot of mixed/negative reviews about Dyson on here, but right now there’s a V15 on sale for about $550 and it seems like a good deal. A few details about my situation: • \~80% of my floors are carpet • We have a baby starting to crawl, so hair and dust pickup is a big priority • Need something that actually sucks up hair well — both from carpet and hard floors • Ease of use and maintenance matter (don’t want to be messing with it all the time) Questions for you all: • Is Dyson worth it at that price? • Does the V15 actually perform well on carpet and hair pickup? • Any issues with maintenance, reliability, or longevity that I should know about? • Alternatives that are better for carpet + hair (and worth the money)? • Are there models (Shark, Miele, etc.) that would outperform the V15 for my needs? Open to suggestions and real-world experiences — thanks! submitted by /u/Fayz_sm to r/VacuumCleaners [link] [comments]

V15 First and Last Dyson Product
For all the hype and cost behind this product, I thought I would get some more use out of it. Though it is either engineered to fail or poorly engineered. The use of lower grade components like motor capacitors is concerning. I have been trying to diagnose why it starts up then shuts down after a few seconds. Warranty is out, tried a new filter, new battery, and no improvement. Found a thread about the motor's capacitors degrading, luckily I am great with a soldering iron, so I will try that. Though I will never buy another Dyson product. This vacuum is barely used as we mainly use a central vac and use the Dyson for some quick spot cleaning. submitted by /u/DogNamedCharlie to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Why didn't I listen to Reddit? Why did I buy this piece of shit?
Costco had a sale for the V15 Detect Dyson 3 years ago. Maybe everyone else on Reddit was wrong. Especially if there's a cool laser! Works well-ish for 2.5 years. Then things started getting clogged. OK, I clean out the filter. Then all of a sudden I have to click the 'start' button 4-5 times before the thing gets up and running. It works but you need to spend several minutes trying to get it to start. Here I thought it was trigger problem (because apparently Dysons have a notorious problem with cheap, thin plastic triggers) and bought 10 triggers from Temu for literally $3 and it took me over an hour to take the damn thing apart to find out that the trigger isn't the problem. I do some research and find out that the capacitors are KNOWN to have a problem after 2-3 years where they no longer hold charge and you need to 'start' several times before it starts working. There's no fix for this. The only fix is to buy a new body for $150. What the actual fuck Dyson? Sure, you got my money the first time. You got me! But you know what? You'll never see another cent from me for the rest of my life. I will shit on your brand to every person I know. Why can't these companies see that this is what happens when they put out a piece of shit and charge an arm and a leg for it? I ended up buying a $200 Bissell from Costco. And no, I'm not going to be that piece of shit person and return a 3 year old Dyson to Costco because if everyone started doing that then my beloved company would go down the drain. The convenience of a stick vacuum far outweighs the longevity of a canister. Besides most of my use is hardwood. That's all I wanted to say. I'm sorry I didn't listen to you Reddit. Dyson V15 yerine tercih edilir mi? Dyson'a çok fazla para dökmek istemiyorum bu sebeple bu modeli düşünüyorum. Bosch, Arçelik ve Philips modellerine göre daha makul geldi. Fikriniz nedir?

Dyson V15 turns on for 1 sec, then shuts off
Hey everyone, my Dyson V15 has a weird issue: When I press the trigger it runs for about 1 second, shuts off, and I have to restart it over and over (sometimes 5–15 times) until it finally runs normally. • Happens with full or empty battery • Filters cleaned, fully dry • No blockages • Battery reseated • Same behavior every single time Dyson support says it’s out of warranty and wants me to pay, but I’ve found many people with the same problem. I’ve attached a video. Has anyone successfully fixed this themselves? Is this a known board / trigger / BMS issue? Any help is highly appreciated 🙏 submitted by /u/Beautiful-Salad4468 to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Dyson V15 detect body
Hi everyone, can someone help me? For some time now I’ve been experiencing this problem with my vacuum cleaner: the dirt immediately gets past the seal and ends up in the filter section. So the space reserved for dirt remains empty and everything moves upward. What can I do to avoid this issue? Obviously I clean the filter regularly and until now I’ve always been careful to empty it when the dirt reached the maximum limit. Thanks submitted by /u/Guttalin to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Advice for choosing between V15, Gen5, or V16
(This post turned out to be much longer than I imagined, so I’m sorry in advance for the long read) Hi everyone. We are currently looking for a new vacuum cleaner for my parents’ two story house. And we are a bit unsure about which Dyson model to go with. They current own a corded Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animalpro 2 (CY26). They no longer want to use the vacuum since it now has drastically lower suction power compared to when we first got it and also the floor attachments both perform very poorly in terms of debris pickup. I convinced them to get a Dyson again since (as a V8 user myself) I believe the overall experience is much improved with their cordless machines compared to their corded one Their main focus for the vacuum is to have long enough batter life for a large house and to have good suction with great debris pickup ability. I also want the vacuum to be able to last them for a long time and also to be reliable so they don’t have to face random issues throughout their ownership. We initially took a look at the new V16. We were first drawn to this model since it had the highest suction power, a new redesign, and for the availability of the submarine attachment. But upon further research I am unsure if its going to be the right choice for them. Even on the short test we did with the new cleaner head on the demo store, the centre gap where brush fibers cannot reach left somewhat visible debris behind. Also I am a bit unsure about some of the choices they made such as placement of the laser on the middle of the head rather than the corner and the new bin with non-cyclonic metal shroud. But even with these negative observations I cant help but feel like maybe it makes sense to go with the model that is supposed to be latest and greatest from dyson. Our other option is the Gen5 model. My parents liked how there was no trigger (even though they don’t think the trigger was a dealbreaker). I also liked how the battery life is the same as V16. My main concerns about this model is that the suction is a bit lower than V16. The machine also feels bigger and a bit heavier but having a larger size is something my parents are ok with if it means a better performing machine. I am also concerned with how some users posted here that the silicone covers for the cyclones can get ripped up after some use, which I think after some point would affect performance. Another option we have is the V15. Dyson currently has a nice deal on V15 s where I live and Gen5 is currently out of stock on the Dyson website so if they don’t have it in their demo store too V15 might also become an option. My parents liked the size and weight of the V15 more than other two models. But my concerns with the V15 are how it has even lower suction than Gen5 (therefore much lower than V16) and its shorter battery life. I also saw bunch of post talking about various issues with the V15 such as repeated filter clogging warning, motor failure, and the same issue as the Gen5 with cyclone silicones. I would truly appreciate if you guys could give me some advice on which model to choose. Since they are all somewhat expensive vacuums I want to make sure we make the right decision. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/highlands87 to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Dyson V15 Cordless - first impressions
I own a Sebo D4. I love it. My last vac was a Dyson Animal, which I hated. The cord was too short, I hated constantly dumping out the bin, various parts broke, etc. I received a Dyson V15 cordless vac as a gift. It's super fun but pretty annoying. The dirt canister is tiny. I can't even vacuum a small rug without having to empty it. I emptied it three or four times to clean my downstairs (I have animals). It has a light that makes all the dirt show, but isn't powerful enough to pick it all up. I was really surprised at how weak the suction is. I tried using it without an attachment to get dust off a shelf, it couldn't do it. I think it relies on agitation to kick up dirt so it can weakly suck it up. All of that said, I appreciate the removable and replaceable battery, so it's not necessarily disposable. Having a cordless vacuum is great for a quick clean up. It's far quieter than my Sebo. It does a better job than the three cordless vacs my husband keeps buying. Nothing is going to replace a good, bagged vacuum, but I do find myself grabbing it fairly often. I would never recommend it as someone's only vacuum. People keep saying it's good for people with mobility issues, but it's still pretty heavy. I think a small canister would be lighter to drag around and would work much better. submitted by /u/I_Lost_My_Shoe_1983 to r/VacuumCleaners [link] [comments]

New to Dyson V15. Thoughts on the trigger?
I recently purchased the Dyson V15 Detect from Costco to replace our Shark Rocket corded vacuum. The main reasons for upgrading were noise level and convenience, and the first thing I noticed is that the V15 is significantly quieter, which I really like. However, I’m conflicted about the trigger-style power button. I don’t love having to hold it down, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. For my wife, though, it absolutely is and she wants me to return it because of that alone. For those who own the V15 (or similar Dyson models): - Did you get used to the trigger over time? - Does it become less annoying with longer cleaning sessions? - Or did it ultimately push you to return it and choose a different model? I did chat with Dyson support and they indicated that some customers have used an aftermarket trigger holder. Curious how others landed on this, especially if you’re coming from a corded vacuum. submitted by /u/jdjs to r/dyson [link] [comments]

OG Dyson owner w/Dyson V15 Detect questions
Hello, hope I got the flair right. Bought the Dyson V15 Detect from Costco ($499) late last month. Got around to downloading the app and really learning her today but find the app lacking detail. Or maybe my ability to find them has waned. Whatever it is, I have questions I hope someone can answer. On the pictured attachment there is a series of symbols, you can choose either ➕🔽➖. Is that to determine the suction? This is the preferred attachment for carpet, yes? And the fluffy optic is for my hardwood and tile floors *only* right? I mean, I guess going from my rugs to my floors and back again is no longer going to be easy. Thanks for any help! submitted by /u/YourMomIsAlwaysRight to r/dyson [link] [comments]

I have a Dyson v15. Should I buy a Miele?
Hello VacuumCleaner sub, I stumbled upon you all by accident, when doing some vacuum cleaner research. I feel very confused by all the ratings and reviews out there so I am looking for your advice. Here is the pertinent info: 1) I own a Dyson V15. Bought last year when I was living in a condo. My family has since moved into a house. 2) The house is approximately 2000 sq ft and has two floors. First floor is hardwood, but the stairs and the second floor are medium pile carpet. I'd say about 1000 - 1100 sq ft is carpet. 3) We own a cat with long hair. 4) My partner has lung issues so I figure we should do our best to reduce the amount of dust and dander swirling around in the house. No allergies though. Question: Is the Dyson v15 sufficient? Or should I buy a Miele Complete C3 Limited or Excellence, or a Miele Compact C2 Cat and Dog? Thanks all! submitted by /u/Internal-Apricot-730 to r/VacuumCleaners [link] [comments]

People say don't buy a Dyson, but Dyson V15 is rated the best? What cordless should I buy instead?
I'm seeing that Dyson V15 is rated as the best cordless vacuum (https://vacuumwars.com/vacuum-wars-best-cordless-vacuums/), but most Redditors say to avoid Dyson due to durability/longevity concerns. However, if I buy from Costco, I'm guessing that concern is less concerning. What cordless vacuum should I buy instead? Are the newer Gen5Outsize and Gen5Detect significantly better? submitted by /u/brucematthew92 to r/VacuumCleaners [link] [comments]

Do not recommend buying from Mike YM, take a look at his "1:1 just like original Dyson V15 Vacuum"
Purchased vacuum cleaner from Mike VM for $200 not including delivery. I asked for pictures showing the actual product before purchase, unfortunately he wrote back that there are no pictures of the prepared product - now I understand why. I don't even need to say anything, other than the Dyson lettering it has nothing to do with real deal. Other than the fact that the vacuum cleaner looks more like a Laresar from Aliexpress and not Dyson, it has a relatively high suction power, and I guess that's where the pros end. I don't recommend buying from him. His whatsapp: +86 193 9783 5519 Gallery: https://mike-ym.x.zhidian-inc.cn/albums ?tab=gallery submitted by /u/Intrepid-Ad3513 to r/RepTronics [link] [comments]
