Dyson V8

Mal wieder eine Frage: ich suche einen Akkusauger für meine Mutter. Er sollte leicht sein und auch wirklich saugen. Tiertechnisch finden sich da zwei ganz normale kurzhaarige Katzen. Was nimmt man da? Miele? Duo/TriFlex? Mit Dyson sind wir durch, hatten etliche Geräte (unter anderem V8 und V10) und wir waren ehrlich gesagt nie so wirklich zufrieden.

Danke! Bin schon länger am überlegen was unseren Dyson V8 ablösen soll. Hat hier jemand Erfahrung mit dem Unlimited 7 vs Unlimited 8? Tut sich da Leistungstechnisch viel? Die Wischfunktion ist für mich nicht relevant.

I’m losing my mind trying to reassemble my Dyson V8 Animal brush head and could really use some help. I took it apart to clean it, overly confident I knew how everything got put back together and now I cannot figure out where this red piece goes or how it installs back into the housing. Hey folks, buying a Dyson for the first time and wanted to get some input So basically, the price point is the same for the new v8 animal from Costco vs 15D refurbished from Dyson Outlet, but I'm torn on which one to get I have a house ~5,500 sq ft, 90% is dark brown hardwood floor I heard great things about the v8 but I know saw in reviews it leaves scratches on hardwood floors, and the battery life is meh. One positive thing is it being from Costco so their return policy is fantastic For the v15, it seems superior in every way (including the hardwood floor aspect) BUT it is refurbished from Dyson Outlet, which can be a big hit or miss in terms of quality and after sale care Any help is appreciated! submitted by /u/TheLastMirana to r/dyson [link] [comments]

I've had this vacuum for a long time, but recently it's started just pulsing and then turning off every time I try to use it. I noticed that if I take the pre-filter out it runs fine, but cleaning the filter didn't help, and neither did replacing it with a brand new one. I'm at a loss. I know the sub hates cordless vacuums, but I have a small apartment and for quick pick ups, It’s what I prefer. I had a cheap Chinese one that lasted two years but the hose broke so I’m looking to get a replacement. So far, I have been deciding between the LG cord zero q3 and the Dyson V8. I've got a V12 Detect for over 2 years now and honestly love it (apart from that ridiculously small dust bin, grrr..) and recently bought a Gen5 Detect for the house. Dyson has been an innovator for many years, the auto mode on their detect models is still the best in the market and they work great with pet hair. However upon visting a Dyson store and comparing their current product line with the competition (like Samsung) I feel like Dyson is slowly falling behind and with 2 weak product releases in a row the cracks are starting to show: V8 Cyclone: There's a lot of customers out there that still prefer the old V8 design which lends to revive the product line with some updates. However the new V8 is almost a slap in the face, it comes with the old mini motorized tool that doesn't work well with hair and doesn't even have a battery indicator (seriously Dyson?). On top of that it costs nearly as much (in Europe) as the V12 Detect which already comes with a fluffy head, screw type motorized tool and auto mode. The V8 Cyclone battery is swapable now but Dyson isn't offering any spare batteries at the moment. V16 Piston Animal: I've tested it in the store and the new head design simply doesn't work as good as the Digital Motorhead on the V15/Gen5. Interestingly the Dyson employees there did agree with me but said that "its optimized for pet hair now" however with the V12 and now Gen5 I never had any issues with pet hair either so what's the point? The V16 uses the same battery tech as the V11/V15 models (7x 21700 cells = 91Wh) but the batteries and connectors are not compatible which means there's no upgrade path for existing V15 owners! I also noticed a significant built up of dust on the motor filter which wasn't the case on any other Dysons in the store, weird. Gen5 Detect: The included battery remains a mystery for me. For some reason Dyson didn't use a 7x 21700 battery like on the V11/V15 but rather a weak 10x 18650 battery (only 3 cells more than on the V12!) which lends to its narrow/long shape. Edit: Actually it appears as if they indeed made a ​major engineering mistake on the Gen5, see my new post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/dyson/comments/1pxy8w9/dyson_gen5_detect_motorhead_keeps_stalling_on/ Did they do this to confuse reviewers so they will believe that it has a "bigger battery" than the V15? (which it clearly has NOT - both are 91/90Whrs). I also noticed that on many carpets the motorhead either struggles or gets stuck in auto mode (even with the air gates fully open) and you have to revert to Eco mode to make it work, never had such issue with the V12. It is my understanding that the Gen5 battery simply cannot deliver the same amps as the V15 battery which explains why the motor inside the digital motorhead quickly runs out of steam when facing some resistance. Anyway, did Dyson never test the Gen5 on carpets or how is that even possible? If your house is full of carpets you can basically get the V12 right away! It should be noted that if you want a stick vacuum with a cyclone based filtration that also works great with pet hair Dysons are still among the best as there's not too many alternatives (Samsung, LG, maybe Dreame?) however that may change quickly in the near future. I see way too many posts on here about how dyson has gone downhill, newer vacuums are failing or breaking after limited use, customer service is terrible. But the V8 I thought was tried and true, is this still true? I want to buy a dyson that will last me for years with no worries that it could break and be out $400. Which model should I get if I want the least amount of worry and know it will be performing for years? The thrift gods smiled upon me. I found a Dyson V8 Animal stick vacuum in a bin waiting to be unloaded at Goodwill…for 20 bucks. I feel like I’ve gotten away with a crime! Got home and tested it, and it works great. There was some debris stuck in the vacuum head, mainly pine needles, which makes me think someone vacuumed up their Christmas tree debris, clogged up the head, and then assumed the vacuum was no longer working, so they took it to Goodwill and got a new one. After just using my Dyson stick V8 for the zillionth time, I just have to rave. I'm not sure when I bought it and I'm not sure what I paid, but it is by far the best all-around vacuum I've ever had. The light weight, the ability to switch easily between regular and max. suction speeds, and the flexibility of the head and the various attachments make it very versatile. I use it on wood floors, rugs, and wall-to-wall carpet. The only thing I've ever had to replace are filters. The on-line videos about how to clean the various areas of the vacuum that get clogged up with fine dust are incredibly helpful. With that help, I've been able to keep the vacuum working well for years. I've never posted a Yelp review before and I can hardly believe that I'm doing it because I'm in love with a vacuum cleaner, but there it is. Hi everyone, I bought a v8 hastily on the last day of Black Friday sales for 269€, as I was fed up with the state of my current vacuum canister, an inexpensive 700W Moulinex City Space. It has a broken combi head whose wheels are seized, which makes it impossible to drag it along the floor. As stupid as it sounds, I've thus been vacuuming hunched over with the bare hose for as long as I can remember. I live in a 35 sqm (~380 sq. feet) apartment with exclusively hardwood flooring. I was hoping to try out the v8 before making up my mind, but the shop I bought it from doesn't offer returns once the packaging has been opened, so the box is just sitting in the corner of my living room until I decide what to do. I read all of the recommandation and flow charts thread, but I still feel like I'm missing some important information, i.e. what features are desirable in a vacuum and why. I'd say the important points for me regarding a vacuum would be: Ease of use Ease of maintenance Durability and/or repairability The canister has given me entire satisfaction regarding 2 : I change the bag every once in a while and that's it. The same can be said for 3 (I've probably had that vacuum for the past 10 years), with the exception of the combi head of course, which I should have already replaced by now tbh. When it comes to 1, it being a PITA is probably mostly due to, again, not having a functioning head. However, having to unplug and replug it when moving from room to room doesn't make it a very smooth experience. My thinking moving to a Dyson was that it being battery powered would increase ease of use significantly (compared to a canister): no need to unplug and replug, I could just vacuum my entire apartment in one fell swoop. However, it seems, reading comments on here, that it would come at the expense of 2 and 3. Is that really the case? What more would the maintenance entail compared to a bagged canister, and at which frequency? Do they break that often? Replacement parts (including batteries) seem to be available though.
