My girl is crossing the rainbow bridge tomorrow
I can’t believe I’m saying this. My girl is crossing the rainbow bridge tomorrow. This is Lacey. She’s just shy of 14, her birthday is May 30. She’s a Golden and she’s been with us since she was 12 weeks old. She ended up getting 4 cancers in her life, two of which were rare, but it never slowed her down. Her most recent cancer was in her neck (thyroid carcinoma and extra-osseous osteosarcoma) and the mass grew so fast. She had emergency surgery because it was compressing her trachea and making it difficult for her to breathe. By the time they went in, the mass was so big it involved her nerve, and she woke up with some laryngeal paralysis. Not a death sentence, but it makes dogs more prone to aspirating and developing aspiration pneumonia. I got two months post-op with her, but she aspirated over the weekend and hasn’t been doing well in the hospital. And her mass came back. We’re planning to euthanize her tomorrow, but I wanted to share her with other people. I don’t know what to do with all this sadness and grief. She’s been the best girl, loved every animal and every person. She loves eating an apple after every meal. Her favorite is Fuji. She loves the snow. She loves ripping up wrapping paper. She hasn’t had a great appetite and isn’t breathing well, so she’s in an oxygen cage. I really wanted to bring her home, get her out of the hospital, maybe let the sun shine in her fur for a bit, give her her favorite foods before it happens. But I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to give her that great last day. All I can think about are the regrets I have. I should’ve spent more time with her. I shouldn’t have put things off. I wanted to take her on more walks in her stroller. I wanted to save her paw prints in paint. I wanted her to make a little painting with peanut butter on a canvas. I didn’t take as many photos and videos of her these past few months because she’s been so sick. I’m going through my camera roll just kicking myself and wishing I took more when she was feeling good. I’m scared she’ll be lonely without her family. She’s the first one to go. I’d love to see the friends she’ll meet once she crosses. I love you so much my Lacey girl. We were so close. You were almost 14, I’m about to graduate from grad school in a few weeks and she was gonna move to a big house with no stairs and a huge yard for her to run around and sunbathe in. She was so close. It’s so hard to make the decision. I know the selfless and kind thing to do is to do it now, before things take a turn for the worse and it’s a true emergency. I just feel like I’m giving up on her. I can’t help but think of the what ifs and maybes. Maybe if she had more time, she could beat this. Maybe she could make it to her 14th birthday. Maybe she could enjoy the new house, even for a little bit. We’re still going through with it tomorrow. I can’t chicken out. She’s taken such good care of me, it’s time for me to return the favor. submitted by /u/RainClouds02 to r/goldenretrievers [link] [comments]

Is Publix a sinking ship that cannot be saved?
Walmart Price Publix Price Bounty Paper Towels (6 rolls) $6.94 $24.99 Mandarin Oranges (3 lb) $3.97 $6.99 Milk (1 gallon) $3.00 $4.49 Avocados (each) $0.84 $1.50 Fuji Apples (3 lb bag) $4.67 $5.99 Chicken Breast (per lb) $2.67 $4.29 Land O’Lakes Butter (per lb) $5.88 $7.38 Sharp Shredded Cheese (8 oz) $2.24 $3.19 Cheerios (8.9 oz) $3.68 5.69 The customer is pissed. Publix is perceived as overpriced not just slightly higher, but out of step with reality. Margins large enough to feel insulting. Even if prices come down tomorrow, a lot of customers aren’t going to come back. Publix has lost the customers trust. Customers have been abused....prices have risen sharply and inflation became the convenient "explanation" for everything. When inflation cooled and competitors stabilized or lowered prices, Publix didn’t. Publix has picked margin over customer loyalty. Shoppers have re-learned how to shop elsewhere splitting trips between Walmart, Aldi, Costco......the spell is broken. Customers have discovered that groceries can cost dramatically less without sacrificing quality. The psychological hurdle of “I only shop at Publix” has disappeared. There’s no automatic reason to return. Publix often points to its superior experience: cleaner stores, better service, friendlier staff. But that premium only works when the price gap feels proportional. A few cents more? Fine. A dollar or two more across dozens of items every trip? Its no longer a premium it’s a penalty to shop at Publix. Publix isn’t a hometown institution anymore it’s just another retailer that costs more. The most damaging is resentment lasts longer than sticker shock. Customers don’t forget feeling taken advantage of during tight financial times. Even if prices eventually normalize, the emotional memory remains. People don’t say, “Publix lowered prices, I forgive them.” They say, “I already found somewhere better.” Mr. Jenkins Would be disgusted with what Publix has turned into and in my opinion is a sinking ship that may not be able to be saved. submitted by /u/drudante to r/publix [link] [comments]

Talked to my Redbull guy today. Fuji Apple Ginger run is completed. Stores will not / should not be getting any more stock. Same damn thing they did with the Spring edition. :( submitted by /u/jalatheviceroy to r/redbull [link] [comments]

Thoughts on Fuji Apple Ginger?
This is by far my new favorite flavor of all time (Yes even better than fig apple), genuinely an 11/10, the apple flavor is strong and the ginger is mainly an aftertaste. It tastes like one of those caramel apple lollipops for the most part. It's crisp but smooth at the same time genuinely You guys better buy it so much so it becomes permanent. submitted by /u/Phish-TAB to r/redbull [link] [comments]

Fuji Apples aren’t as good?
I have been buying Aldi Fuji apples for quite sometime now. The last two bags I bought haven’t been as good as normal. Have you experienced this? Are Fuji apples out of season? Did they change their supplier? Do you have any ideas? submitted by /u/ProgRockDan to r/aldi [link] [comments]

Got too close to my fuji apple tree with the string trimmer. How bad is this?
Tree is about 10’ tall, maybe 1.25” diameter trunk, planted spring 2024, not sure how old it was when I got it. Damage is about 6” above the soil line, right about where the grafting was it looks like, not super deep, just shaved off the thin bark and goes about halfway around the trunk. the other side is in damaged. location is RI, USA, think we’re 7a now. How bad is this for the tree and is there anything I should do to protect it? submitted by /u/bigmanpigman to r/marijuanaenthusiasts [link] [comments]

Two of the best antidepressants ever right here (Phoebe + fosteroo Fuji Apple, both wobbly girls) 💛
Things are sad on my end right now, but they’ll be ok. We took in two sickly, tiny orphaned kittens over the weekend and neither survived past this morning. It’s one thing for me to accept the loss, and I would bear the heartbreak again, but trying to help my 3-year-old daughter understand has been devastating 💔 submitted by /u/flydove7 to r/nervysquervies [link] [comments]

Such bad apples compared to fuji (I've eaten like three green apples in my lifespan)

i ONLY like fuji apples
Im an asian kid and grew up only eating fuji apples. In my school cafeteria there were apples sometimes, of course, but they were smaller, waxy and dryer than i was used to. And the most important of all they were mushy and acid, not like the BIG PHAT JUICY AND CRUNCHY ones that i was destroying at home. Little me called them asian apples because i did not know two shits about apples but i have always felt priviledged and superior because of how big and sweet my apples were compared to the ones my classmates had to endure. Unfortunately, now i cannot enjoy the taste of any other apples than a fuji ones, like a child fed lobster would look down on shrimp, a king fed foie gras would look down on mousse de canard, an emperor fed caviar would look down on salmon roe. I have been given the best of the best and will not tolerate anything less. submitted by /u/crispyflesh to r/Apples [link] [comments]
