Do you mean you would like to climb Mount Fuji? Skip that. It would be stay a night at a mountain hut if you would like to hike up to the summit. The altitude definitely causes you a trauble if you rush.

7 day visit to Japan
I have a 8 to 10 day visit to Japan. Should I fly into Osaka or Tokyo? I know I want to take the day tour to Mount Fuji, then take the bullet train to Osaka and see some castles there before doing a bit of shopping for the mrs. Is it worth visiting Kyoto and or Hiroshima? Or any other suggestions.

Mount Fuji in May
I climbed Mount Fuji from the second station (Mizugatsuka Park) of the Fujinomiya Route this weekend, because that's as far as the bus goes during the off-season. It's about a 3-hour hike to get to the fifth station from there. The snow was pretty soft at this time and I didn't have any trouble on it with my crampons. Ended up putting crampons on at the eighth station and basically going in a straight line up to the top. Saw a lot of people with daypacks and even two people who only had one pack between them. There were a lot of skiers and snowboarders, too. I brought a bit too much water and the crampon strap on my right foot kept coming undone. I need to get on top of learning how to properly do them. Also wish I had packed lighter. The view into the crater was surreal and I wish I had had enough time to go around it. Thankfully, the wind at the top wasn't too bad. That was my biggest worry going into this. submitted by /u/Constant-Molasses134 to r/Mountaineering [link] [comments]

My one day Mt Fuji experience
I did a lot of research into climbing Mt Fuji in one day and couldn’t find many personal experiences of achieving it. This may be a humble brag, but I wanted to share my experience. I am a reasonably fit 37yo man, I walk the dog a couple of miles each day and can run 10km in about an hour but I’m pretty exhausted afterwards. I don’t do any weights or gym work. Hopefully that gives a good impression of my fitness. I was staying in Yokosuka and wanted to climb Mt Fuji in a single day, I chose the Subashiri Trail as it was the easiest to get to from where I was staying. I took the train to Gotemba and the bus from there to the Fifth Station. There was actually a delay to the trains so I missed the 7:45 bus up the mountain and had to wait for the 9:35. I began the ascent from the fifth station at 11:00. I walked at what I would say is a strong pace, my aim was to get as high as I could without missing the last bus down the mountain at 6pm. I stopped for only a minute or two at each station for water and a bit of food, paused a few times to admire the view and take some photos, but other than that I kept my pace. I kept track of my pace against the “guide” times between stations on the map, most of them I knocked between 1/3 and 1/2 off. I reached the crater at 2:45pm so a 3hr 45min ascent. I spent maybe 20mins at the top, had some more to eat and drink, took photos and then began down. The descent on the Subashiri Trail is different to the ascent, being mostly sand and gravel, so was quite quick to come down. It took me about 2.5hrs to descend back to the fifth station, getting there at 5:30pm to catch the bus. My top tips: - Take loads of water. I had about 3ltrs and it wasn’t enough. - Take a stick or walking pole. I bought one of the Mt Fuji sticks and it was a huge help. - Pack small snacks, things like nuts and dried fruit are good. - Book onto the mountain in advance with the Shizuoka Fuji App to save time at the fifth station. - Know exactly when the busses up and down the mountain are. So that was my experience, I hope it helps others to plan a single day climb of Mt Fuji! Edit: I should clarify that this is my account from climbing Fuji last August. There is a climbing season and it’s not safe to climb outside of that season. submitted by /u/Womble7002 to r/JapanTravelTips [link] [comments]

"We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest..." is a vlog uploaded by Logan Paul on December 31, 2017. The video shows a recently deceased corpse of a man who had died by hanging himself in Aokigahara at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan, known as the "suicide forest."
It was deleted after receiving immense backlash from the youtube community and an apology video was later uploaded. submitted by /u/FullyVoided to r/wikipedia [link] [comments]

Mount Fuji not being drivable
I don’t believe the Mount Fuji will be drivable and I wouldn’t be mad that it’s true. To be fair, in FH5, I never really enjoyed the volcano that much. Felt empty. Far from everything, boring to get to. So I don’t mind the Mount Fuji as a nice background. And also IRL it’s a sacred mountain that cannot be driven on top, so it would make sense to respect that. But that’s my thought, what about you ? submitted by /u/WildRag to r/ForzaHorizon [link] [comments]

Mount Fuji will probably not be drivable in FH6
Mount Fuji is a sacred place in Japanese culture and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On top of that, the summit isn’t accessible by road, and driving supercars through such a sacred area could easily be seen as disrespectful. My guess is that it’ll mostly be a background landmark you can see from across the map, with maybe one or two roads around the base of the mountain. I hope I’m wrong though. submitted by /u/Ehrenmann3006 to r/ForzaHorizon [link] [comments]

Chinese student who called rescue at Mount Fuji went up again and couldn't get down by himself again
This is really unbelievable stupid beyond believe. He really should be kicked out from the university and deported immediately. A Chinese male university student who was lost in the mountains returns to Mt. Fuji to retrieve a cell phone he had left behind. Four days earlier, he had lost his crampons at the summit and was rescued by a disaster prevention helicopter. On the afternoon of April 26th, a Chinese man in his 20s who had difficulty descending near the 8th station of Mt. Fuji and was rescued by the Shizuoka Prefectural Police Mountain Rescue Team had also been rescued from the summit of Mt. Fuji four days earlier, according to police interviews and other sources. The man had apparently been climbing the mountain again to retrieve his cell phone and other belongings that he had left behind when he was rescued. According to the police, at around 1:00 pm on the 26th, a climber at the 8th station of the Fujinomiya trail reported that "a person had collapsed and was suffering from abrasions and trembling." The man who had collapsed near the 8th station was a Chinese male university student (27) living in Tokyo who was descending alone. A nearby climber carried the man up to the 8th station and called the police. A mountain rescue team from Shizuoka Prefectural Police found the man at the 8th station. The male university student was able to speak and was complaining of altitude sickness in Japanese, saying things like "I feel sick, I'm cold." The male university student was carried down to the 5th station by the mountain rescue team on a stretcher and taken to the hospital, but he was not injured and is not in any danger of dying. After further investigation, the police discovered that the male university student was the same man who had reported to the police at the summit of Mt. Fuji four days earlier on the 22nd that he had lost his crampons and was unable to get down the mountain, and who was then rescued by a Yamanashi Prefecture disaster prevention helicopter. According to the police, the male university student once again went to the summit in his hiking gear to retrieve his cell phone and other items he had left behind after being rescued, but this time he became ill and was unable to descend. It is not known whether his cell phone has been found. https://www.at-s.com/snews/article/ats/1706613.html EDIT: Rescue team members are trained but people too. He's putting other people's lives in danger. “Stupidity cannot be cured. Stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death. There is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.” Robert Heinlein EDIT:This has nothing to do with racism. Some stupid Japanese live streamer went up during off-season wearing his sneaker. "It's kind of slippery around here. Oops, I slipped.....". He videoed himself sliding down from the summit. Found his body some time afterward. His body was all mangled up and it took some time before they were able to identify that it was really him. https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm39160837 Last year, there was incident of a Japanese skier who wanted to ski on Mount Fuji. Tried skiing down inside the crater but never came back up. Climbing Mount Fuji used to be free. As in anybody can climb it anytime without paying. The rule is that you're suppose to submit a plan beforehand and take all the risk if climbing during off season. Now, they's tightening restrictions and even making people pay to climb because of all these stupid people who climb up without proper gear and proper skill expecting somebody to help them. I'm proposing to send the person back to China because if he stays in Japan, there's a large chance that he'll again try something stupid and get himself killed. He knew the condition near the summit because he just went up 4 days ago. He knew he didn't have the necessary equipment and skill. Yet, he climbed again. If he didn't find his phone, he may even again climb this week. It's good that he came back alive, but should his behavior be tolerated? No. People should not take it for granted that somebody is going to save you for a reckless behavior. That is a sure way to get yourself or somebody killed. BTW, there was another incident on the same route about a foreigner not being able to descent my himself. He was helped and made it safely back down but then he told the rescuer that he was actually climbing with his friend. His friend was never found. submitted by /u/MagazineKey4532 to r/japannews [link] [comments]
