RE:Acne
Unfortunately yes it’s normal. You can speak with your OB about it but I started using a salicylic acid acne body spray for my back/chest. For your face you can use azelaic acid, glycolic acid, I personally also used salicylic acid on my face as well, my OB said it was fine.

Using Glycolic Acid for UA Smell Worked for Me :)
Just wanted to share the moment na na-realize ko Glycolic Acid works on my underarms as an odor remover. Context, I use Glycolic Acid by spraying on dry underarms once a day after bathing, 3-4 times a week. I wanted sana to lighten my UA or at least remove the dark lines. I also read that it is good for odor. I sweat a LOT and would sometimes smell like may body odor ako. Hindi naman intense pero ayoko nung smell. I also commute. I alternate between using the Glycolic Acid and deodorant. Anyway, a few days ago, I did not use deodorant kasi feeling ko ang kati ng underarms ako. So ligo lang talaga ginawa ko when I went out of the house. Grabe init and my armpits were super sweaty na talaga (TMI) na basang basa ung crooks ng sleeves ng top ko. Pero ang masaya? NO SMELL AT ALL. As in walang amoy. Just wetness. Na-shookt ako. The Ordinary brand pala gamit ko. Tapos I transfer sa small spray bottle. And spray 1-2x per pit. submitted by /u/miyawoks to r/beautyph [link] [comments]

What is a skin barrier? How do you increase actives (retinal, glycolic acid) without damaging it? And how do you know it's damaged? How often should you increase actives to get results without damage?
I started skin care a few months ago. a.m. I use cream cleanser, bioma milky toner, no 7 vitamin c serum, eucerin hyalaronic spray, the inkey list polygluatmic serum, cerave mousturizer (the tub), and spf. I find the spf dries me out. when I don't wear, I feel moisturized. p.m. I double cleanse, bioma milky toner, eucerin hyaluronic spray, polyglutamic serum, cerave moisturizer. 2x a week I use geek and gorgeous retinal, 2 times a week I use the ordinary glycolic acid in my night routine. I don't feel dry or damaged from this routine. I'd like to increase retinal to nightly as I don't feel brighter or results from this. should I Increase glycolic acid too? or incorporate an exfoliating scrub in somewhere? thanks submitted by /u/AmazingDaikon7647 to r/SkinbarrierLovers [link] [comments]

[CG - Review] DERMASIL AHA Glycolic Acid Toning Solution
Dermasil AHA Glycolic Acid Toning Solution Just posting a review, mainly for me, some for others 🤣 I am in my late 30s with now dry-ish skin, no major skin issues, have combo skin that decides sometimes it's sensitive to everything and other days, we okay; prior sensitive skin person. It used to be sensitive, so a cheaper product with a lower percentage works best for me! I use this on my face and body and go through about 1.5 to 2 bottles a month, but only on target areas: face, butt cheeks, my back, armpits and have been hitting areas with hyperpigmentation (butt cheeks, top of feet and below my knees) as well as KP (cheeks and behind my armpit/back of shoulders). Fragrance free though to me has a hint of rose (very very lightly, think of those flavored carbonated waters without the sweetness). Watery. I have used this from summer into fall and winter and now into spring. I moved it to a spray bottle and it sprays beautifully (not a in-your-eyes-stream like some toners unless your spray bottle sucks to begin with) though have just dabbed it on. - Got rid of my bacne after 3-4 months of daily use and I will continue using it. I use it once a day on problem areas after my shower and let it dry or rub it in. - Helps with armpit odor since I inherited a ton of "natural" deodorants, though if I stress sweat, game over, but it does curb the odor more than if I didn't use it. If you're not a sweaty person, it may work as a deodorant for you. You spray it on the pits, let it dry and then apply your deodorant. I have used this with Squatch, Old Spice, Dove and Secret (we talking about their no aluminum deodorants, though Secret is a cream). - Helped with some bumps on my back shoulder/behind the armpit (gone) and appears to be helping with KP with my butt cheeks, but not as much, though I assume it'll take a few more months of consistent use to see anything! I have also used it on my feet since I'm in boots all the time, but my feet don't normally smell, so this was just as a preventative! - Someone wanted to see if it did anything for hyperpigmentation, but it doesn't seem to do much for that and if it does, very very lightly and will be similar to KP - it will takes months of consistent use to see anything! - For my face, I use to use it daily (2x a day, AM/PM) and it got rid of my closed comedones, but since I'm trying new things, I only use it once a day every few days. It is my first layer after washing. I think the newer stuff doesn't work as well, but it still does more than anything especially at this price point. I will continue to buy these a few bottles at a time. I will say, beware of having any cuts or scrapes, it does burn a bit on cuts and wounds (great way to find if you have a mysterious booboo), because the first few times I used it, it burned only for me to realize it was from a cut (from pups and other critters) or pimples I scratched. I know some folks have issues, but I haven't (burning, redness, etc.). Some folks say it is more potent than the blue bottle, which did nothing for me. This is suppose to be a chemically exfoliating toner and I think it works for folks with more sensitive skin than the higher end stuff, however, if it doesn't work for you, the blue is suppose to be a LOT more gentle. Anyways, hope this helps! submitted by /u/Coconut-Giraffe to r/dollartreebeauty [link] [comments]

What do you sleep in at night ?
I’m curious about this because my sister thinks I’m weird because I have to wear baggy shirts to sleep I don’t like my underarms to feel constricted because I feel like it wipes off my deodorant and makes me sweat. So I like to wear glycolic acid under arm spray let it dry and spray on deodorant a baggy shirt with all body powder on my chest back and underboob area and light BODY Spray not perfume. And palmers coconut oil all over my body after a shower. No pants just cotton underwear. (If you don’t want to share it’s okay :) I’m just making discussion and of course NO JUDGEMENT! ❤️) For those of you asking why I wear so much when I go to sleep; In studies your body is less active when you sleep meaning your glands are less active meaning your products will work better like your deodorant, your lotion, etc. this is why my night routine is so extensive because I get better use of my product when I put it on before I sleep. Literally if you read up on it, dermatologist will even tell you this. It’s kind of like being 10 steps ahead. ☺️☺️ submitted by /u/demizzlex3 to r/hygiene [link] [comments]

[Misc] My body has never been smoother!
I've been using the CeraVe salicylic acid body wash in the shower, and the La roche Posay urea cream (after every shower while skin is still damp) combined with spraying my legs with the ordinary's glycolic acid once a week, and then locking that shit in with aquaphor spray, and MY GOD. The difference is astounding. I've never had legs or arms or an ass this smooth, my husband literally can't stop feeling me up and tbh neither can I. I have strawberry legs and while this routine hasn't done much for that, I am STUNNED by the way these products have completely transformed my skin. Did everyone know about this and didn't tell me for like 30 years?! Idk but I hope if anyone else is having rough bumpy/dark areas and ingrown hairs, that this helps them. I didn't think this level of smoothness was possible for my skin! 🥳 submitted by /u/RH9494 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Product Request] Glycolic Acid & Hypochlorous Acid
I've been doing some light research on products to use for my face. I have combination skin (think T Shape symptoms) so I've been wanting to use AHAs. I went to this website and it posts some conflicting messages about when to use Glycolic Acid & Hypochlorous Acid. The links are down before where I got the information. https://www.honeydewlabs.com/blogs/blog/hypochlorous-acid-spray-glycolic-acid https://www.honeydewlabs.com/blogs/blog/hypochlorous-acid-vs-glycolic-acid-skincare#:~:text=They%20Have%20Different%20pH%20Levels,to%20prevent%20dryness%20or%20irritation. So do should I implement both for my morning routine? submitted by /u/otibo1 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Salicylic acid body spray
Looking for some thoughts and feedback on a body acne spray. This is my first diy cosmetic, so any insight is appreciated. I’m trying to replicate the Differin Acne-Clearing Body Spray. ingredients in the Differin spray: Active: Salicylic Acid 2% Inactive: Water, Alcohol Denat., Glycolic Acid, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Polysorbate 20, Ammonium Hydroxide, Disodium Edta Outline of my most recent attempt: 2g salicylic acid in 30g 91% isopropyl alcohol (27.3g isopropyl alcohol, 2.7g water) Set aside for 1 hr .5g disodium EDTA in 29.5g water Set aside for 30 min 3g glycolic acid in 26g water Add 1g polysorbate 20 to salicylic acid solution Combine glycolic acid solution and disodium EDTA solution Combine If my math is correct that ends up as: 64% water 27% isopropyl alcohol 3% glycolic acid 2.5% witch hazel 2% salicylic 1% polysorbate 20 .5% disodium EDTA (I’ve been making half of the recipe, 50mg at a time) In my first attempt I used ethyl rubbing alcohol, and the salicylic was crystallized the next day. Second attempt, I used propanediol to dissolve the SA and ended up with irritated skin and a bunch of closed comedones. Most recent attempt, the acid remains dissolved and I don’t necessarily have any complaints, but still looking for clarification or possible areas to improve. Additional context: I’m pretty dead set on a water based formula with a monohydroxy alcohol solvent. My skin is pretty acne prone and doesn’t respond well to certain humectants. It’s been a bit difficult finding beginner friendly instructions for SA solvents other than glycols. I’ve been using the rubbing alcohols instead of more pure or denatured alcohols just because they’re easier to source, but I am open to opting for more specialized ingredients. I left out the ammonium hydroxide because I’m not super confident in dealing with the chemical reaction and off-gassing. I’m also unclear on the amount of ammonium hydroxide in the Differin spray, the intended purpose, and when it gets added to the formula. Is this just to tweak the PH at the end? (I haven’t been PH testing the end product, which I know is very unsafe but I do patch test each new batch for a few days before using it.) I sort of assumed the Differin spray was a homogeneous solution, but the packaging makes it impossible to tell. Either way, I always end up with a suspension. The formula doesn’t stay emulsified. I don’t mind having to shake the spray bottle before using, but not sure if this is something that should be addressed. submitted by /u/Brief_Let_7197 to r/DIYBeauty [link] [comments]

[Routine Help] Glycolic acid/Lactic acid/Retinol/HA
Hi guys, I've been getting into skincare recently as I've turned 30 and been noticing some mild early signs of aging. My skin is dry, but not sensitive and not acne prone. I have been using 7% glycolic acid and 7% lactic acid for about 6 weeks now, in my night routine, alternating nights. First I cleanse with micellar water, then I dry my face and apply the acid, then I wait a couple minutes and spray some water on my face before applying my eye cream and then face cream. After that I apply a thin layer of vaseline. For the last 2 weeks I've also been applying 0.2% retinol, using the same layering method as mentioned above, so I'm alternating between the three actives. I want to add HA into my routine and I'm completely lost on how to schedule my actives and have so many questions: Am I using too many exfoliants? My skin has been looking great though but I'm afraid of potential irritation and overexfoliation. If I have to choose between glycolic and lactic, which one should I keep in my routine? Is my layering method optimal? I love slogging and would prefer to be able to apply my moisturizer over damp skin if it doesn't disrupt the actives. Can I apply HA under glycolic/lactic and retinol? I know that slogging is very effective when used with HA, so I'd rather apply it at night. And can I use HA everyday? I'd like to have a day or two a week with no actives to let my skin rest, so would HA be considered as resting? I need help with scheduling when to use each active, ideally I'd prefer to use retinol 3x a week and glycolic/lactic 2x times, and use HA under each if possible. Please help a girl out! submitted by /u/hereinmyarse95 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Where are you getting your favorite glycolic acid?
I've been curious to try it since people seem to rave about it on here, but I only ever see people saying "Glycolic acid!" without a particular brand attached, and you know how Google is with plopping a bunch of random sponsored results in front of you. So, what are your favorites, and where are you sourcing them? I'm particularly interested in anything that comes in (or can be transferred to) a spray bottle. When it comes to buying in-store, I am in the Midwest U.S.A. Thank you! Edit for clarity: I am only going to be using this on the body, not the face. submitted by /u/AtomicFeckMagician to r/SkincareAddicts [link] [comments]

another vote for glycolic acid
i had heard about using glycolic acid on developing and healing flares and tried it a while back, in a spray bottle, but didn’t really give it enough time to work and then my flare ups became very few and far between for some time. recently i’ve gotten a few, nothing crazy but i want to ensure they heal and hopefully don’t tunnel or become recurring. this time i’ve been using the glycolic acid on a cotton pad and wiping my usual flare areas with it once a day or every other day just whenever i remember. it’s only been like two weeks and one flare that had drained but felt like it still had something inside it (kind of hard i guess but not painful) has gone down in size almost completely. another smaller flare that had drained and seemed like it wanted to come back (this one was painful) has also almost completely receded. a third flare, new, opened up and i started using the glycolic acid right after that and it healed immediately, like overnight. i’ve read that glycolic acid sometimes works for a while and then stops so i am keeping that in mind, if it ever stops working i can try salicylic acid or BHA or AHA. but i’m so happy to find something inexpensive that works. i highly recommend trying it if you haven’t. submitted by /u/here4thefreecake to r/Hidradenitis [link] [comments]

Dermasil Glycolic Acid Toner, two ways.
This was the first product I tried that got me into Dollar Tree beauty/skincare. I love it sooo much. It’s gentle enough to use every night for my sensitive skin and my face always feels so clean and fresh after. I have one in an acetone pump bottle to. I use this with cotton rounds (NOT the DT ones. Those are horrible. I buy better quality cotton rounds elsewhere) on my face, neck, and elbows when I remember lol. Then I have one with the travel bottle spray nozzle attached. Both are almost empty! I use the spray bottle mainly to exfoliate my feet! I spray the soles and heels of my feet until completely with them I put my legs up on a pillow and let then air dry. I follow with the Dermasil Eczema lotion and my feet feel like I got a fresh pedicure! I also spray my armpits after showering at night and under my boobs. I don’t know if that really does anything but I still do it lol. Do you have this toner? How do you use it?? submitted by /u/Much-Mushroom-9450 to r/DollarTreeDetox [link] [comments]

The Best & Worst Skincare Products (review)
Hi everyone! I posted this on another sub not too long ago and because of the positive reaction I wanted to share it with you all. Hope you like it. Little bit about me/my skin: Im 25F and I have sensitive, acne prone, combination skin. My skin is especially sensitive to fragrance, citrus and floral essential oils. Because of this I’ve become a bit of a skincare nerd and an obsessive ingredients list reader. I definitely still have a lot to learn about skincare but I hope this list helps some of you! Especially my fellow sensitive skin skincare addicts. I tried to keep the reviews very short and straight forward, but if you want me to expand on any products let me know! 1. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer 30 SPF - 3/10 Pros: Fragrance free and very moisturizing. Cons: Broke me out and burned my eyes Best for: dry skin. 2. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser - 0/10 Pros: literally nothing. Cons: I don’t like the smell, it broke me out, didn’t remove my makeup well. 3. Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser - 6/10 Pros: Clean ingredients list. Cons: Stripping/drying and expensive. For who? Oily skin or those that like to feel squeaky clean. 4. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen 60 SPF (American) - 3/10 Pros: Doesn’t leave a white cast. Cons: Greasy, broke me out, stung my eyes. Bottom Line: Stick to the European version. 5. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen 50+ SPF (European) - 9/10 Pros: Doesn’t leave a white cast, reasonably priced. Cons: texture is a little too runny for my liking. Bonus: LRP donates to skin cancer research. 6. Jordan Samuel Hydrate Facial Serum - 0/10 Pros: Couldn’t try long enough to say. Cons: Gave me a bright red burning skin reaction. Bottom Line: Looks like they changed their formula (for good reason obvi) so I can’t speak for the new version. For who? Those who want an excuse to cancel dinner plans. 7. Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray - 0/10 Pros: Cheap. Cons: Mist comes out too strong, I don’t like the smell, contains fragrance, citronellol, geraniol and colorants. Bottom Line: Thank goodness it was a gift, because I won’t be buying. 8. The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser - 5/10 Pros: Unscented, affordable. Cons: Made my skin itch and left a residue. Bottom Line: I won’t repurchase. 9. A313 Vitamin A Pommade - 10/10 Pros: My pimples reduced, skin texture improved (after two weeks). Thick vasaline texture that locks in the vitamin A. Cons: Slight metallic smell Bottom Line: Worth the hype! I use 2x a week max, alternating with a salicylic acid oil. 10. Youth to the People Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm - 3/10 Pros: Great ingredient list, interesting extracts. Cons: Smells like waxy crayons, crumbly texture that doesn’t melt well into the skin, left a waxy feeling behind. Bottom Line: I’ve tried better. 11. Tata Harper Water-Lock Moisturizer - 2/10 Pros: I liked her organic Vermont farm story and the light gel cream texture. Cons: strong fragrance, contains skin irritants like Alcohol, limonene, citral, citronellol, linalool and orange peel extract. Bottom Line: Don’t use if you have sensitive skin. There is a sunburn warning on the side of the box because it contains AHAs. 12. Saturday Skin Carrot + Niacinamide Moisturizing Cream - 6/10 Pros: Hydrating thick gel cream. Cons: Smells so strong of silicone. Bottom Line: Bought it in Europe, loved it. Bought it in the US, smelled like straight up silicone. Different formula maybe? 13. Glossier Future Dew - 0/10 Pros: Cute packaging. Cons: Made me look like a greasy pizza, broke me out and don’t like the smell. 14. Versed Sunday Morning Antioxidant Oil-Serum – 1/10 Pros: inexpensive. Cons: Does nothing. The biphase ends up looking gross and muddled after a while. 15. Murmure Bisou Clarifying Dry Oil – 10/10 Pros: Cleared my blackheads, sinks into the skin fast. Cons: Contains hazelnut oil so be careful if you have an allergy! Bottom Line: I use it about 2x a week at night (not on the same day as my retinol). My skin is always less red and bumpy in the AM. 16. Typology Glycolic Acid 10% - 3/10 Pros: Affordable (Typology is like the French version of the Ordinary). Cons: Broke me out, 10% glycolic acid is too strong for my skin. 17. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil – 9/10 Pros: Nice dry oil that soaks in quickly, love the smell (I only use this on my body so the fragrance doesn’t bother me). Cons: Wish it had a dropper or pump to make application less messy. Bottom Line: I put this all over my body after my shower and my skin feels baby soft. 18. Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen 36 SPF – 5/10 Pros: Good value for money. Cons: Broke me out, a little too oily. Bottom Line: They have changed the formula since I tried it so I cant speak for the new formulation. 19. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ - 7/10 Pros: Super soothing and healing. Cons: clogged my pores (avoid if you have acne or milia prone skin). Bottom Line: I would buy again for my eyelid dermatitis that I get every winter For who? Dry, irritated skin. 20. SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum - 8/10 Pros: Brightened and evened my skin tone. Cons: So expensive it hurts! Oxidized at around the 4 month mark. Smells slightly unpleasant. Bottom Line: One of the most effective formulas for vitamin c that Ive tried. Keep it away from light and to close the bottle tightly so it doesn’t oxidize as quickly. 21. Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-fine Mist – 1/10 Pros: Cute packaging. Cons: Broke me out, overpowering candy fragrance, didn’t hydrate. 22. Pillow Talk Derm Major Fade Flash Mask – 0/10 Pros: I can’t speak to the effectiveness of the product because my skin couldn’t handle it. Cons: Instantly burned my face into a red mess. Bottom Line: 15% glycolic acid was too much for my skin. Make sure to always patch test new products. 23. The Outset Nourishing Squalane Daily Moisturizer – 7/10 Pros: Clean ingredients list, nice light texture. Cons: Not hydrating enough for my skin. Bottom Line: If you have sensitive skin and like a lightweight moisturizer it might be worth a try. 24. Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy – 10/10 Pros: Heals, hydrates/seals in moisture. Cons: Packaging is kinda ugly. Bottom Line: Cult classic for good reason. I’m team Aquaphor over vasaline every day. 25. Skinfix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream – 10/10 Pros: Super hydrating and nourishing. Nice cream gel texture. Cons: none. Bottom Line: My sensitive skin loves this moisturizer. Even though I have acne prone skin I still prefer their normal triple lipid over their gel version. 26. Saturday Skin Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask – 4/10 Pros: slightly brightening. Cons: Strong smell, contains citrus oils, feels quite sticky. 27. Youth to the People Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream – 3/10 Pros: nice light airy texture. Cons: Has fragrance and limonene. Didn’t do much. Bottom Line: Last time I was at sephora I did notice that the cream is no longer a light green color, so I think they changed the formula. 28. Caudalie Beauty Elixir Face Mist – 0/10 Pros: None. Cons: Doesn’t smell great, does nothing, has alcohol, fragrance, rosemary oil, citral, linalool, citronellol…). Bottom Line: Outdated product imo. 29. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen 40 SPF – 5/10 Pros: Doesn’t leave a white cast. Cons: Expensive and broke me out. Feels very silicone heavy. like my skin was suffocating. Bottom Line: Sensitive acne prone skin beware. 30. U beauty The Plasma Lip Compound (Rose) – 0/10 Pros: Couldn’t keep it on my lips long enough. Cons: Smells so bad like straight up chemicals. Bottom Line: So disappointing because it was really expensive. 31. Youth to the People Polypeptide-121 Future Cream – 7/10 Pros: Hydrating and plumping. Cons: Started to smell a little funny when I got halfway through the jar. 32. Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm – 8/10 Pros: Nice creamy texture that melts into the skin. Smells delicious and removes makeup well. Cons: Leaves a greasy film on my eyes Bottom Line: One of the few glow recipe products that I actually like. 33. Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream (Night) – 1/10 Pros: lovely texture. Cons: Smells way too strong, like straight up perfume. Has citral, limonene, lemon peel oil and fragrance. Bottom Line: Sensitive skin beware. 34. Typology Niacinamide 12% - 5/10 Pros: Inexpensive. Cons: 12% niacinamide is too strong for my skin. Bottom Line: studies show that your skin reacts best at a 4% concentration. I like to add a little into my moisturizer every so often to dilute it. 35. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – 3/10 Pros: Smells delicious (but has fragrance). Cons: Made my lips more dry. I don’t like having to scoop into a jar. Bottom Line: I don’t understand the hype of this product. 36. Clarins Lip Comfort Oil - 9/10 Pros: Not sticky, lasts a while and very shiny. Cons: Wish there was more color payoff and kinda pricey (not doir expensive but getting there). Bottom Line: My fav lip product to date. submitted by /u/Valuable-Moment973 to r/beauty [link] [comments]

Bottom Line: My fav lip product to date. submitted by /u/Valuable-Moment973 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

This is your sign to go buy the Ordinary Glycolic Acid
This glycolic acid has helped my flares SO much. I know everyone has different experiences with all products, but for me, the glycolic acid from the Ordinary has helped with everything HS related. I recommend putting it in a spray bottle. Happy to answer any questions just had to come on here and rave submitted by /u/Apprehensive-Pass946 to r/Hidradenitis [link] [comments]

Work harder not harder. I started using the glycolic acid very recently, I noticed by spraying it I’m using less product but able to distributed more evenly! I used the nozzle from an empty bottle of d’alba spray serum. submitted by /u/MelonDusk to r/beauty [link] [comments]

[Combination-oily skin] Review of Solved Labs SOS Hypochlorous Acid Spray/Restorative Facial Toner
♦️ Skin type: Normal in winters, combination-oily in summers, slightly dehydrated. Sensitive, acne- and inflammation-prone. Generally have some clogged pores/comedones plus a couple hormonal nodules every month. Usually some ongoing PIH+PIE from that. I'm relatively satisfied with my routine and my skin, on a realistic level. ♦️ Climate: Mumbai. Hot and humid summers. ♦️ Current routine: ☀️ AM: + Zitcare foam wash (2% salicylic acid cleanser, review here + Solved SOS Hypochlorous Acid Spray + DIY vitamin c serum (details here) + Dermadew Aloe cream (review here) with a pinch of Purenso Colloidal Oatmeal powder (I skip the powder if wearing sunscreen, otherwise it causes pilling) + Vilvah Melt-in-Milk SPF30 (review here) if facing windows indoors or stepping out briefly, Vilvah SPF50 if spending time outdoors. Skip if entirely indoors. 🌙 PM: + DIY cleansing balm (if wearing makeup) + Simple Refreshing Face Wash + Solved SOS Hypochlorous Acid Spray + Aziderm gel 15% (⚠️ prescription product) OR Minimalist AHA BHA 10% exfoliator OR Minimalist 3% Tranexamic Acid Face Serum (or a skip day if I feel my skin needs it) + Dermadew Aloe cream with a pinch of Purenso Colloidal Oatmeal powder mixed in (also over the lips) + 100% lanolin as an occlusive balm - dabbed on the lips, healing acne spots, and (only if sleeping in AC) a thin overall layer by rubbing between the palms and gently pressing all over the face. Note that I built up to this routine of actives by introducing them one at a time, over the course of several weeks. ♦️ Age: Early 30s ♦️ Usage timeline: just under a month. About 4-5 spritzes, used every day, morning and night. I'm about halfway through the bottle, I think. ✨️Ingredient list: Aqua, Butylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Hydrolyzed Rhodophyceae Extract, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Saccharide Isomerate, Aqua, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Glycerin, Trehalose, Urea, Serine, Pentylene Glycol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Algin, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Pullulan, Disodium Phosphate, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Hypochlorous Acid, Disodium EDTA 0.5 hypochlorous acid, which is soothing and supports the skin barrier. They've formulated it with some nice barrier supporting ingredients like urea and polysaccharides. Knew I had to try it when I heard about it - shoutout to u/thesoapmaker_ for the tip off 🥰 Hypochlorous acid is the key ingredient in the SOS Daily rescue spray from the brand Tower28, a product that's been popular online for years, but their's is actually just a plain water solution. So the name may be the same, but the product isn't! ♦️ Price: MRP ₹700 for 100ml ✨️Texture, consistency and fragrance TEXTURE AND PACKAGING SHOTS. (Pictured the amount I would use for face and neck. My efforts at photography did not extend to trying to capture the mist on camera 😂) ♦️ Fragrance - none. Sniffing it closely, it does have a very faint vaguely sweetish smell, but its not something you register at all. ♦️ Consistency - feels just like water, but ✨️silkier✨️ ♦️ Packaging - handy little opaque black plastic spray bottle with a rounded plastic cap to go over the nozzle. The label and bottle are very cute ☺️ The spray nozzle is pretty standard, I didn't find it to be particularly fine OR too much like a jet/droplets. Suited to the purpose. Sturdy and good quality enough to do a half-spritz 👍🏼 ✨️Application & finish I've never been a fan of spray toners with actives in, because you gotta be careful with avoiding the eye area and getting it up your nose. It does feel weird if you spray it over your nose 😂 And does sting slightly if you get it in your eyes. But one spritz per cheek, forehead and chin is pretty easy to spread around and pat in. My skin is usually mildly dehydrated, and it sinks in pretty fast, leaving a very light film of hydration. Perfectly comfortable to use even in summer humidity, and I really like that it's not just like water. I find that my azelaic acid, which can be hard to spread on bare skin, goes on much smoother over this. ✨️My experience I found it a nice addition to my routine because of the hydration, and although it made no difference to my hormonal acne, I do think my skin barrier is slightly more resilient now. I usually have some mild redness around my nose corners (common, especially for people with sensitive skin), and that seems to have reduced slightly. I also think my clogged pores are slightly less likely to get inflamed now, but that might be wishful thinking 🙃 My real test was that I used it on my dog's belly rash, and it worked great 😂 He tends to develop a little skin irritation in summer, and makes it worse by licking and worrying at it (so relatable). I'd eventually have to put him in a cone and use a medicated spray on it, but this time I used the SOS spray to treat it before it got worse. Sinks in fast, no smell (so he doesn't feel motivated to lick it off) or residue/buildup. And it did heal up within a few daily applications! 🙌🏼 Which of the ingredients helped is informed speculation, as always, but I'm glad it worked. Also, I'm not suggesting it for use on your pets, just sharing what I did 👀 ✨️ Final thoughts Worth a purchase if you have sensitive and/or acne-prone skin, and it's within your budget. Would suit all skin types, and work in all weather, since it's super lightweight. Would resolve only the mildest of dehydration, so I wouldn't call it a hydrating toner per se. But it's certainly more hydrating than a plain hydrosol/water extract, and I really appreciate that. Has a nice conditioning quality. ♦️ Repurchase status: WRP, just to have on hand. If only for my dog 😂 And to use it before azelaic acid. I'll probably skip using it after I'm done and see if I miss it. See concerns below in the edit. Hope this was interesting and/or useful. Byee! Edit: shoutout to u/DegreeHistorical6532 for pointing out that the percentage is way higher than recommended. I wouldn't suggest anyone purchase this product any more, it seems the formulation IS in fact too good to be true 💀 Details about why it's iffy here. UPDATE I believe that the hypochlorous acid has started to either degrade (to irritating sodium hypochlorite) or cause irritation because of the percentage (MUCH higher than recommended percentage for use on skin) - or both. Haven't changed anything else in my routine, am experiencing stinging from barrier damage 🫠 WOULD NOT REPURCHASE, DO NOT CONSIDER IT SAFE FOR USE. submitted by /u/UnevenHanded to r/IndianSkincareAddicts [link] [comments]

[product question] Heard glycolic acid works well as deodorant. It doesn’t stop sweat, but kills the bacteria that causes the smell. Used it today for the first time, but not that impressed yet. What was your experience?
