What card will top the 16 million dollar Pokemon sale?
Recently a 16 million dollar Pokemon card was sold via golden auctions for a high price from previous owner Logan Paul. In the sports card world there are tons of cards that could easily trample this sale if they were only to go to auction. This Pokemon card is a one of a kind that will never be topped in value in the TCG world. It’s THE card not something that could just be replaced with a modern grail. In sports cards, there are a few cards that come to mind when considering a card that could beat this record sale. A few that I think of would be the T206 Honus Wagner in a PSA 8, any of the few PSA 10 Mickey Mantel 1952 Topps Rookie Cards, and even something like the undiscovered Curry 1/1 Superfractor from 2009 Topps Chrome. TCG is experiencing the biggest hype boost since the pandemic and I believe it will fall soon do to the fact that it is sold hype based and doesn’t have any underlying value that could fluctuate significantly from real life events. submitted by /u/AvsCards to r/sportscards [link] [comments]

I told myself I wouldn't open pokemon card packs until I finished college. Today I officially recived my Masters in Science!
I graduated highschool on 2018 with plans to go to college. In order to save money, I stopped buying pokemon cards and would only open packs occasionally. At some point (I think around 2020) I decided that I wouldnt open any packs until I finished college. I finished collage 2 years ago, and was immediately accepted into a Masters program. So from 2018 until today I would buy packs and not open them. It took 7 years but today I submitted my final manuscript and am officially done! I had saved up 57 packs and got some pretty awesome pulls! submitted by /u/PimpMaddie to r/pokemoncards [link] [comments]

What's the deal with all the stores being sold out of Pokemon cards?
My son asked me to buy a pack of $8 Pokemon cards with his allowance and I went to three different stores (Walmart, Target, and Meijer) and they were all sold out. I asked an employee and she said their supplier just isn't sending the cards. I see the company issued a statement almost 5 months ago. But that seems like an extraordinarily long time to have a supply issue for pictures on cardboard. Are scalpers really gobbling up $8 packs of cards to flip them to Jake Paul or whatever? There can't be that many valuable cards out there, can there? Everyone out here looking for Golden Tickets in their Wonka Bars or what? submitted by /u/SendInYourSkeleton to r/OutOfTheLoop [link] [comments]

Prismatic evolution surprise box error card promo
I opened a prismatic evolutions surprise box and was hoping to get the umberon, to my surprise I got this nothing card with a raise texture sparkly and soft to the touch. Has the pokemon card logo on the back like normal but this is something else. I opened the plastic around it because honestly I didn't know I thought something was on the front of the car like a pull sticker or something or a card overtop the card to cover it. Beat Cancer today and bought a booster box for myself!
For almost two years I've been fighting head and neck cancer, with treatments ending earlier this year! My original diagnosis looked VERY grim and we caught it at a very late stage. I've played pokemon since it came out in the states, I was about 8 years old, and have lost the bulk of my collection over yhe years but always have tried to get a few packs from every set just to kind of keep on. For Christmas my husband surprised me with a booster box of Stellar Crown. He knows nothing about Pokémon, so the fact he got it for me meant so much more. It was the first and last bit of cards I'd find until a few weeks ago. At a small comic con I grabbed a few Journey together packs at close to cost, it was one of my first cons I was working at since treatment ended. Today, though, was my check to see if treatment worked. The radiation keeps working for 3-4 months after you're done with horrible side effects but it is what it is, you know? The doctor said I had a complete positive response to the treatment and show no more sign of the original Cancer! We went to an indie board game shop nearby after, mostly to walk around and let me process, and they had the first booster boxes I'd seen on months. I decided to get one to celebrate and here are are my pulls! Thank you for readings and i wish you good health and pulls too! ❤️ (P.S. i really just wanted a Ho-Oh card and I got two, I'm so excited 😊) submitted by /u/ONION_CAKES to r/PokemonTCG [link] [comments]

The issues with Pocket's economy and why it is so predatory
Pocket is exploiting your feelings and your brain. This is how predatory Dena's way of managing the game is. This is dangerous for you, your saving and your life in some extent, depending on how resilient you are. This is why I feel like sharing with you my thoughts and feelings about the predatory economy and the dangerosity of randomness in this game. Even though a lot of games lever similar methods to get people into spending money, Pocket is absolutely next level. In terms of both the number of methods used for this purpose and how deceiving the entire system of the game is. This post is both meant to be a source of information, and a warning. Be careful. First I'll start with a fact that probably a lot of you already know: Pokemon TCG Pocket is gambling. Casinos use the very same strategies to keep you playing and spending your money. Basically: The "Near miss" feeling when you miss the card you wanted in miracle draw exists to make you want to try again. Just one more time. Come on, you just picked the card right next to the one you were aiming for. Next time will be better! (spoiler: it won't). In casinos this is comparable to how slot machines work: you get a 7 7 X where X is something else than a 7 (FIY 7 7 7 is often the "jackpot" combination in slot machines). Another side effect of miracle draw is that seeing other people get lucky gets you to think "if I open a few more packs I'll get there too". And obviously the same reaction takes place when you see a friend open a nice pack, or simply get their second golden whatever EX in 15 packs. Same thing happens if you see someone hit the jackpot in a casino. "It could be me". Yes, but it was not you. They got lucky, and you probably won't. The games gives you the feeling of having control over things, when you don't have ANY control over ANYTHING. Casinos also use the same mechanisms in almost every game so that you get this feeling of "next time I'll do better". But you won't. You can't do better when there's absolutely nothing you can "do" in the first place. In Pocket: Picking a card in miracle draw has no effect: no matter what you pick, you'll get the same card in the end because the server already chose what you'll get anyway. Picking a pack is exactly the same, your 5 cards were written in the stone the moment you clicked the "Open" button at the very start of the opening process. The way you're tossing coins has no effect on the result of your first toss, the results are decided with basic RNG. It's 0 or 1 for each coin toss, first one included. Finally one that is less known: cards that get you "a random card" from your deck or discard pile. This is another "Near miss" feeling that is, in this case, meant to keep you playing instead of spending money. Well, indirectly, as you keep playing, you're more and more prone to spending money at some point anyway. The built up frustration you get after dropping absolutely nothing useful (pack opening and miracle draw) was made to get you into thinking that you need to give your luck a little push so you can get there and finally get what you deserve. "Push" your luck with your money, of course. Because it's actually the only thing you have control over in the game. And they're taking it away from you by playing with how your brain works. Don't do it. Keep control of yourself. These are the 4 main casino-like mechanisms that the game uses to keep you playing and spending money. We all know that gambling is dangerous. Not only can gambling become a strong addiction that could get you into big, big trouble, but it's even more dangerous when clever people are thinking of ways to make it look like it is not gambling. Second thing is how Dena manages cards distribution. Pocket uses several deceitful ways to force you into paying if you want to actually play the game/complete your collection: A new set drops every month. That's a very narrow window to get meta cards before they might get obsolete. In fact, while this frantic frequency of new sets gives you FoMo vibes (Fear of Missing out), it's not even worth trying to get the new cards in time before the next set drops. Some of these cards will be good for only a few weeks, and you will have spent bucks on basically dead digital cards. Rince and repeat next month. Spending money in packs to get the new cards that just released wont help you enjoy the game. The tr*ding (word is censored because trade posts are forbidden lol nice) system also helps in forcing you into purchasing packs if you want the cards before they might get obsolete, because there's no other way to get them before then without opening packs/participating in miracle draws. For collectors, it's ok. For battlers, it's not. The rare cards pool is diluted with crap ◇ and ◇◇ rarities full art cards that make it even harder to get good cards. They're cool cards, I get you. But they should never be rarer than basic EX cards, for example. ⭐ rarity cards' only purpose is to make it harder to get actually useful ◇◇◇◇ cards. So that you spend your money into trying to get them out of 1. Frustration, or 2. FoMo. The pity system is CRAZY EXPENSIVE. 500 points for an EX card is equivalent to 100 packs opened which, in terms of gold, is approximately worth 100€/$100. Taking into account the fact that you get: 2 packs a day 4 hourglasses everyday, so 1 additional pack every 3 days 70 hourglasses from the monthly shop refresh Approximately 100 hourglasses from solo missions that drop with a new set Approximately 40 hourglasses from events (roughly estimated) That's a total of 2*30 +30/3 + (70+100+40)/12 = 87.5 free packs a month. This is not even a SINGLE EX card. Considering that a new set drops every month, this means that even if you're playing every day and grabbing every single free-to-play item you can get, you're not even guaranteed to get a single EX card out of a new set. So in the end you'll get approximately 90 packs. This is where they want you to spend 10 bucks to get to the 500 points. Otherwise the accumulated points might be useless, because there's probably nothing useful you can get with less than 500 points at the end of the day. Oh whatever, you can purchase a crap full art magnemite for only 400 freaking points. Well, I guess that's it. I already spent too much time writing this down, this post went bigger than I thought it would. Anyway, here's the point: keep control of yourself. Don't let Dena exploit your feelings to abuse you. You missed 15 times in a row in miracle draw? Fine, let it go. You only dropped one EX in 50 packs when the odds tell you that you should have gotten an average of 5? Let it go. You're 40 points away from getting an EX and the new set just dropped? Be patient. Wait a few days and open 8 extra free packs to get there instead of throwing bucks at the game. And if in the end you're gonna spend money anyway, go for the premium pass. It's way more worth it than spending money sparingly: 10 bucks for 30 packs over a month, instead of 10 packs right away. Plus it gives you more control over how much you're gonna spend in a month. And nice additional rewards. Take care people. Modern economy is a jungle in which we are definitely preys. Be smart. Survive. submitted by /u/ShueiHS to r/PTCGP [link] [comments]

OP is devastated that their local trading card shop got broken into. Instead of giving sympathy, users /r/PokemonTCG gang up on OP’s wording instead.
Backstory The current Pokemon card game expansion, Prismatic Evolutions,) released this January 17th, has been extremely anticipated by fans, collectors, and scalpers alike. The content of this expansion focuses on Eeveelutions, and includes 32 special full art cards, along with 5 hyper rare golden etched cards. In order to accommodate the insane demand for the expansion boxes, the Pokemon Company announced on January 15th that they would be quickly printing more of the cards from the set. Despite that announcement, people will and are desperately doing whatever they can do obtain the rare cards, most likely to sell for a profit. OP’s furious post This brings us to OP, who posts in /r/PokemonTCG the following: My local card shop was broken into [image of announcement from local card shop, transcribed below] Rookies closed today. Early this morning we were broken into and robbed. First time in 32 years, so I’m a bit shaken. I apologize for any inconvenience, but we’ll be back soon. Thanks for your understanding. ~Jack OP: im so mad at this community. my local family owned card shop was broken into yesterday night. guess what they stole? pokemon cards , and i feel itd be safe to say it was prismatic evolotions. im so so so so mad. i just visited this card shop for the first time wednesday and i planned on coming in friday morning for release but ended up getting sick. we called them today to ask about the cards and the guy said no and hung up. i didnt even realize what i was doing in that moment, i feel so bad asking that kinda question after that. i got a facebook notification literally 5 minutes too late about rookies. i hate this community, they ruined a cute like card shop. uhg i am so so so so mad. Redditors react Okay but price?? Try to find out how much they were going to charge for Prismatic Evolutions so I can decide to be upset for them or not. [downvoted] Was thinking the same thing, if their ETBs were over $150, then that’s just thieves robbing thieves at that point. [note: ETB = Elite Trainer Box] I'd give you a reward if I wasn't broke. 100% facts! Lol y'all are crazy. That is no justification for breaking into a small business and robbing them. Since violence or threats weren't used against a person it's just burglary. O...kay. Thanks for that. You're welcome. You should take every opportunity you can to learn. I'm confused at why you feel the need to be passive aggressive but alright big guy "Alright big guy" The only person being passive aggressive is you. I simply took an opportunity to educate you on the difference between burglary and robbery. Then you thanked me so, as a person with common decency, I said, "you're welcome" and gave you the piece of wisdom about taking every opportunity you can to learn. It was an inside job: Plot twist, they broke into their own shop, stockpiled all the pokemon bbs/etbs and are gonna claim the insurance. This comes with 2 benefits: No work on monday Sit back on a big old pile of insurance monet and sealed pikachu butts, and Thug Life This isn't a plot twist. This is likely what happened. OP: this is def not what happened LOL. Police have gotta check to see if their lease was coming up for renewal too. Attacking OP: Safe to say it was your first time there in 32 too.... you may be younger than the 32 years of being open, but the fact you've posted how mad you are but only been there once is ironic. Stay mad, bro. OP: ive known the owner through my dad for a long time. to tell me basically it aint that deep over a robbery is insane dude lmao. Makes you only once going even worse. Nothing about the robbery is good. Did I say it was?.... Fishing for upvotes fills your belly huh. Low-life scums fill the 🌎. Insurance will do it's job, not your fishing for likes post. OP: i was venting my frustration, i didnt expect so many people to interact with this. i rarely post on reddit. if you look at my profile its mostly questions about my animals health and showing off my poke plush collection. yeah im not here for the upvotes and i think its weird for you to imply that. Avoid scalper shops: Found out yesterday that my only local tcg shop are belligerent scalpers Sadly wont be going there Yes, this is the time and place to bemoan you not understanding how businesses and markets work. [downvoted] Yeah i understand, business buys at msrp and tripples the price, i dont support it I love when people confidently make idiotic statements. It lets me know exactly what type of person they are and how little of my attention they deserve. [more downvotes] And yet you keep typing and responding. “It lets me know exactly what type of person they are and how little of my attention they deserve.” You say that, then come back to reply. Are we, or are we not, worth your attention? Singular takes Pretty racist post. Take this down. "im so mad at this community" this is not the community those are thieves that steal anything that holds value, this has nothing to do with any one of the pokemon collectors. Id be sleeping in my shop if i got an order of Pokémon cards. Id also park in front of the store so no one can drive through it. getting shot over a pickachu holo card is such an embarrassing way to go out lmaooo Crazy world we live in—last year, a cop in my area got arrested for stealing Pokémon cards from Walmart. Gotta catch ’em all… including the thieves, I guess! Full thread with more divisive takes here Previous post with Prismatic Evolutions drama here Reminder not to comment in OP’s thread! Edit: Thread is locked and mods stickied a comment: Mod: Post locked for misinformation. OP has a lot of assumptions in their rant and while its valid to feel this way, lumping the whole hobby together with their assumptions does a disservice to all the people in this hobby. The shop was broken into and people are saying cards were stolen, no other facts or clarification. Reminder to everyone that: Violence or theft should have no place in this hobby and threats of it will get you banned here. Not everything is about pokemon and sometimes bad things happen. And that a community is made of the people in it so if you want a better community then start with yourself and what you can do to make it better. And for those who will no doubt misunderstand the intention of this, Yes, scalpers suck. Yes, the hobby's popularity is frustrating right now. No, that doesnt mean that every shop selling over msrp is complete scum nor that every person with a sob story is crying with pure intentions. submitted by /u/Teal_is_orange to r/SubredditDrama [link] [comments]

“Sorry but no. They should be sued for this, actually.” Trading card lovers in /r/PokemonTCG voice their displeasure over a small card shop’s strategy to combat scalpers.
Background Since the pandemic, Pokemon trading cards have exploded in popularity, due to treating rare cards as investments or collector’s items, rather than as part of an actively played deck. Scalpers have also caught on, and quickly purchase as many packs and booster boxes as humanly possible. People have shoplifted Pokemon card packs, hid a bunch of packs in their jacket and opened them in the retail store’s bathroom, robbed a small shop’s inventory, and straight up purchased the entire stock of card packs and booster boxes, leaving none for casual players, or even the children the game is marketed to. To combat the insane amount of theft and loss of product, many retail stores resorted to locking up Pokemon card products behind shelves, to the dismay of many. Other stores relegated purchases of booster boxes to one per customer, and, in 2021, Target temporarily suspended sale of Pokemon cards in store due to safety concerns. Current Pokemon card expansions The previous main card expansion, called Surging Sparks,) released in English on November 8th, 2024. This set was aggressively sought after due its 23 rare full art cards, and 6 hyper rare gold etched cards. The upcoming/current special expansion, called Prismatic Evolutions) is even more anticipated than Surging Sparks, since the content of this expansion focuses on Eeveelutions, and includes 32 special full art cards, along with 5 hyper rare golden etched cards. This expansion releases in English on January 17, 2025, so the FOMO energy is nearly at its peak in anticipation. OP’s post OP, while in a certain Discord server, spots an announcement made by a small card shop, advising customers of their plans regarding the upcoming release of the Prismatic Evolutions set. They posted a screenshot in /r/PokemonTCG, along with the following: What are your thoughts on a card shop doing this? [transcript of announcement in screenshot:] @everyone *Prismatic Evolution Release Update*** We will have all 4 products available until sold out. **Price:* MSRP* **Limit:* 2 product per person, max 1 per SKU* **Elite Trainer Boxes* -> Boxes will be cut at time of purchases.* As demand is very high, we will be removing plastic wrap at time of purchase to combat resellers. If you are looking for one for your sealed collection, I advise waiting for the reprint or until market goes down OP: Personally, I totally agree with a two box limit, but not with cutting the plastic. If someone wants to sell 1 box or even both, I don’t believe they are the problem. Let alone someone who wants one to keep sealed. - also just noticed they said 1 max per product. So couldn’t even get two boxes from them if you wanted lol Card collectors converse Customers could be blindsided by the shop’s plastic removal rule: A slippery slope to consider is customers who don’t see this message. Perhaps they go to your store, have no idea, and suddenly the shop is cutting your box when you weren’t ready for that. Like, I wouldn’t mind it if I had prep time seeing this, but on the spot it could be surprising/off putting for customers who weren’t aware Goof You would have to be the first one in line and not know… odds are low Im sure they are clear at checkout It’s unfair to the consumer: I get the point and it’s for a cause we all can get behind but it’s unfair to the consumer. If im paying full price I should get to keep my product sealed. The seller retains all advantage here. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted but ¯(ツ)/¯ Why you want sealed ? Oh right, to resell later. Hoarding packs to not open is stupid wait for Reprint and buy it sealed Could be a low print run. Sorry but no. They should be sued for this, actually. [downvoted] What could they possibly be sued for? They can refuse service for anything that isn't a protected ground. American? Suing for this is crazy Scalpers and sealed box collectors are the same? Good, i don't really see a difference between scalpers and "sealed collection" dudes. Just scalping with a couple extra years tacked on Not really. Scalping vs collector's value are not related no matter how you try to slice it. Meh I like to keep some things sealed from sets I open with my daughter. That way she / we can open them 10+ years from now. Something I wish I had done as a kid Damn so I have to open every product I buy immediately or else I'm a scumbag? Crazy You buy it, you own it: I paid for it. I get to decide what to do with it. This is not the answer. If I want to re-sell one box it's none of your business. My money my product. [downvoted] It literally their business, they don’t have to sell to you And I choose not to buy anything from them. Scalpers suck but going extreme to the other side is not the answer. Limit customers to one item and call it a day. I paid for a sealed product, if that's not what I'm taking home with me ill take my business elsewhere. The shop’s rules would be an instant never buy: Would be an Instant never buying from that shop again. What a rediculous prospect. You should’ve posted who it was so I know to never buy from them in the future lol. That’s crazy to punish sealed collectors purchasing a single box like what. I’ve never heard something so ridiculous in my life. [downvoted] Found the scalper. Totally bro I’m a scalper for wanting to buy a single sealed etb because I try to collect one of each set… 😆🤦 grocery store analogy: Although I support combatting the issue of scalping, this isn't the right method to take. If im spending my money on any product (especially one that the store doesn't produce themselves), it should be my decision what I do with it. Imagine you went to a grocery store to buy some frozen food. You get to the register to pay, and they go "just one sec, we are going to thaw that out before you can purchase it"... It wouldn't fly for anything else but here we are I guess. You can choose to buy somewhere else. Before you but things they are the merchant's property to do with as they please. As long as they've disclosed what, it isn't any different than you selling something to others. It is actually illegal to do in most cases. It falls among the false advertising lines because you are purchasing a brand new item that is not new when the purchase is finalized. They are disclosing the conditions right there, and I assume separately with any transaction. That makes it above board under a little concept called the right to property. They are displaying an items as new, selling it for a new price, but ensuring it isn’t new on purchase. That is dancing on illegal lol No. They disclose the condition they're selling it in, and it is their product. If they tell you the rules they can scissors all the cards in half after purchase if you agree to receiving product in that condition. That is a fundamental right called the right to property, they're free to sell you things as long as they're safe by regulations, and you're free to buy or not at their price. Just like anyone could then buy cards from you opened or even damaged, the store doesn't have some special magic rules applied to them. You realize the right to property specifically states YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO PROPERTY you buy. That means they are violating your rights by forcing you to open the product. Allow me to quote it for you ~ "the right of the individual to the use and enjoyment of property, and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with law." The condition of the property at the time of delivery has been described. You've agreed to those terms. The contract is fullfilled as the box is unsealed and so the ownership transfers. Before the contractual obligations have been fullfilled the box is the shops' and the money is yours. You're free to hand it back until you open it there as per your agreement I ACCORDANCE WITH LAW, thus your rights are respected. Another comment chain from the grocery store analogy If other people were raiding the frozen section so it was empty, then standing out in the parking lot and tripling the cost, yes that would fly if it stopped them from doing it so I can buy my food. No, it wouldnt lol. At most, they would put a limit on the purchase and call it a day. Saying otherwise is just being completely obtuse imo. Heres another example; Imagine going to buy expensive wine/liquor/champagne and when your checking out, they pop the top on you.. No way in hell that would fly lol I would like to point out that just a couple of years ago this was the case for toilet paper in much of America. There was a limit of 2 packages per customer. So whoever was the stupid piece of shit hoarding all the toilet paper in whichever city you are in would simply pay about 50 people to go to the stores for them, and run around to all the stores so they can get the entire supply. They pay each person a bounty of $20 a package, then charge people $50 a package once they have the whole supply. So the product limit by itself doesn't work Singular Takes Let’s make every Pokemon card worth 1cent so that everyone can play everything. Bullshit. Do not cut my plastic. I'm just here to play the game man, the weird stockmarket of pokemon is just annoying there are cards I'd love for my decks but good luck because some dude with to much disposal income has decided pokemon is the new investing in luxury dinnerware Say what you want about resellers but value is the only reason anyone gives a fuck about cards in general. Only a fraction of the people play the game or just collect lmao Hmm I work for a large company dealing with these boxes. I think my box cutting knife might go a little too deep on some of these next time I open the cases Well once you buy the box it’s yours , so if they “damage” the product at all after, they are libel. [PROMO] GACHA MEETS TCG!! Porky's Pokemon TCG Pocket Beginner's Guide to Survive Day-1. The good, the bad, the great things and the horrible stuffs about the game!! Will also cover gameplay, card acquisitions, tier list, deck guides, gacha rates, pity system and so on.
Introduction Hi everyone, Porky here.. For the new members here, for years.. I'm the guy who usually do some long ass promo essays for fun when I feel like it and for games I look forward playing. For example, I did some long winded [Promo] post for Wuthering Waves, Atelier Resleriana, Reverse:1999, Ni No Kuni, Edens Zero, FFVII: Ever Crisis, just to name a few. I do these promos in hope it will help the community somehow.. in addition to my borderline ADHD mental state to do something new in the internet - at all times. DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated with the The Pokémon Company.. or any of the promoted YouTubers, websites, streamers, or even Nintendo. I see myself as a community member of r/gachagaming and where there is a gacha game I like and I am interested in.. I love to spend time digging the internet and inform fellow members here how good or sucky the game is. Alright, let's get into the guide. Owh.. before that.. Please head to r/ptcgpocketgg and join us for some GACHA FLEX PARTY on global release in a few more hours!! Porky's Pokemon TCG Pocket Beginner's Guide In a nutshell: Pokemon Pocket combines trading card collection with card battling. The main aim is to log in daily, open packs, and expand your collection. You can create albums to showcase top pulls or build a deck for battle. Battles are 1v1, with players using 20-card decks and alternating turns to score 3 points by defeating the opponent’s Pokémon. Each turn, you gain energy to power up Pokémon for attacks. Currently, the game leans more toward collecting than competitive battling, so logging in daily for packs takes minimal time. A future card trading feature is planned, with more details to come when it launches. More details below: About the Game's Background Processing img mr7ikfa6rtxd1... This is an absolutely new Pokemon TCG game NOT to be confused with the OG Pokemon TCG game let it be paper or online. The developers are Dena famously known for their game mobile games - Mario Run, Mario Kart, Fire Emblem Heroes, etc. Processing img es3th1g4qtxd1... Some might be worried that since FEH has some crazy milking going on... This game might be having stupid unfair microtransaction.. surprisingly, Pokémon Pocket has a more sustainable monetization strategy in my opinion; this comes after playing in the soft launch myself for some weeks. You guys can check out the trailer here >>> OFFICIAL TRAILER Game Play Pocket Pocket is focused on fast-paced and simplified gameplay, unlike the Pokemon TCG we're used to. The less time you'll have to play and finish a game signifies that the devs are trying to attract more casual players to the Pokémon card game, demanding less time from their day to play the game and it's a quick process to learn the rules. Processing img uu1wam9drtxd1... Each player will have 20 cards in their deck, unlike Pokemon TCG's 60-card deck. You draw five cards at the start of the game, your hand is limited to 10 cards. Going first means you can't draw a card or use an energy. 1 Active Pokemon and up to 3 Benched Pokemon. No more Prize Cards like Pokemon TCG. Pokemon Pocket has a 3-point system, the first player to get 3 points, wins the game. Knocking out a basic Pokemon gives you 1 point, whereas knocking out an ex Pokemon gives you 2 points. So in most cases, you'll need to knock out two Pokemon to win the game. There are no Energy cards in the deck. Energy will now be automatically generated, and the Energy you get will be dependent on the type of Pokemon you have in the deck. You will also have a small indication of which Energy type you'll get on the upcoming turn. The evolution system in Pokemon Pocket is the same as in Pokemon TCG. You can evolve a Pokemon, the normal way, once per turn. Attacking with a Pokemon will end the turn automatically. Weakness and Resistance is set at +20 damage. One concept I think would be pretty cool is that in addition to golden cards and cardbacks, alternate / extended art could also be added, a bit like star wars lcg

Beginner's guide to flipping Pokemon cards. Also AMA.
Hello. My name is Pokemon Gamerz and I wanted to share with r/Flipping how to start making money buying and selling Pokemon cards. I have been buying and selling Pokemon cards, to much success, for a very long time now. One of my recent investments was a lot I purchased for $120 USD which turned out to have a retail value of over $700 USD. How to get started: The best places to find cheap Pokemon cards would be through your local ad websites. For example, I use kijiji to find sellers in Ontario, Canada. I find that many times sellers do not know the value of their Pokemon card collections and just want to get rid of them. By buying off these kinds of sellers, you are helping by giving them some money for cards they have no use for and you are benefiting from, hopefully, finding valuable cards. [CAUTION] Before you head out and buy all the Pokemon lots you can find, please be wary that not all Pokemon cards are valuable! Although there are a few beginner rules that you can follow to ensure you profit! What to look for: Golden rule for flipping cards is CONDITION! Even if you have a highly collectible card, the condition will determine it's value. For example, a card rated 2/10 could be worth $5, the same card rated 5/10 could be worth $20, but the same card rated 10/10 could be worth $300. There are certain Pokemon cards that are usually worth money: Charizard, Pikachu, Rayquaza, Mew, Mewtwo, and basically most legendary Pokemon and starter Pokemon. It is worth your while to check the value of these Pokemon cards when you come across any. If you are a beginner in flipping Pokemon cards, or have no idea what Pokemon cards are, here are the sets that sell the best. Keep in mind the most valuable cards are typically holographic cards. All sets listed below are considered vintage so the common and uncommon cards are valuable as well and are very easy to flip (based on condition): Base Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Base_Set_(TCG)) First edition is worth the most, shadowless (here's how to spot a shadowless card https://www.ebay.com/gds/What-is-a-SHADOWLESS-Pokemon-Card-/10000000177666025/g.html) is worth slightly less, unlimited is worth the least of the three. Since this is the very first set for Pokemon cards, holo cards from this set are generally valuable. Cards to notice will be Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur. Do not get excited if you find a first edition Machamp because they are only worth around $5 a pop. First edition Machamps were in every single starter deck so millions were printed. Jungle Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Jungle_(TCG)) Like every other sets, first edition is worth the most. Some holos in this set are worth money. Fossil Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Fossil_(TCG)) Again, some holos in this set are worth money. Base Set 2 - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Base_Set_2_(TCG)) The prices for Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur will tickle your pickle but most of the other holos are not as valuable. Still highly collectible. Team Rocket Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Team_Rocket_(TCG)) The holos in this set are more decently valuable. Look for Dark Blastoise, Dark Charizard, and Dark Raichu. Gym Heroes Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gym_Heroes_(TCG)) Gym Challenge Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gym_Challenge_(TCG)) These were mass printed so they are not as valuable as other sets. Look for Blaine's Charizard, Sabrina's Gengar, and Rocket's Mewtwo. Neo Genesis Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Neo_Genesis_(TCG)) The first Neo set. Common uncommons are not as valuable as the previous sets. Look for holo starters. Neo Discovery Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Neo_Discovery_(TCG)) Similar to Neo Genesis. Look for Tyranitar Neo Revelation Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Neo_Revelation_(TCG)) This set is definitely more valuable than the previous two. Look for any holo legendaries. This set also has Shining Gyarados and Shining Magikarp which is serious $$$! Neo Destiny Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Neo_Destiny_(TCG)) This is one of the best collectible sets. Most holos in this set are worth money and this is the set that has the Shining Pokemon. Any Shining Pokemon is very serious $$$ especially Charizard. If there's a first edition stamp on the Shining cards as well your value could go up 2.5-5x! Legendary Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Legendary_Collection_(TCG)) This is a very unique set. It is a reprint of popular cards from past sets. ANY reverse holos from this set is worth $$$! Do not skip on those! This is the very first set to introduce reverse holos. Aquapolis Set -https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Aquapolis_(TCG)) Skyridge Set - https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Skyridge_(TCG)) These sets had Crystal variants of Pokemon. These are serious $$$ now! The most expensive being Crystal Charizard! There are a few more vintage and noteworthy sets. If you guys want to learn more please let me know! Old Pokemon cards (mainly Trainer cards) that are reprinted and are heavily used in competitive play now go up in value. Be careful though because once a card is rotated out, no longer available in competitive play, the value plummets. There are two markets, collectors and players. Players are only interested in new Pokemon cards that are competition viable. Collectors are mostly looking for vintage cards. How to sell: First thing's first, the most accurate method of finding card value is to cross reference sold listings on eBay with retail price. There are many credible sites for retail price. One of the most popular, often overpriced, is https://www.trollandtoad.com/. There are a few methods of selling Pokemon cards: You can sell Pokemon cards as a lot. Generally lots are sold much quicker and easier to transport since there's only one buyer but usually not as much profit. You can sell Pokemon cards individually. By listing valuable Pokemon cards individually you can get much more profit. It will probably take longer though and more shipping fees. You can sell Pokemon cards as a complete or semi-complete set. By compiling complete sets and selling them you will get the most profit. There are always people looking to buy complete sets to save time. Of course this will require a lot more work than the other methods. I hope you found this guide useful. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask! :) EDIT: A little bit of info about my personal collection. I have bought, sold, and traded Pokemon cards since 1999. To date my collection of Pokemon cards has a value at around $100,000 USD. I enjoy teaching people, via Youtube, the value of Pokemon cards as I view them more as an art form. EDIT 2: I have a Youtube series called Pokemon Storage Hunt where I buy Pokemon card collections/lots and breakdown the value of the cards to see how much profit was made. I teach a lot about what to look for when sorting through Pokemon cards and also give mini history lessons on notable cards. If anyone is interested you can PM me and I'll be more than happy to link you to an episode!
