When my mom was packing up her house she asked if there was anything I wanted. I only asked for one thing. "You want that old spoon?!" My mom was surprised. This spoon was on every holiday table for as long as I remember, in the green beans. Yes, mom, I want it more than art, or china or jewelry.

Never grown green beans, why do they look like this?
First year growing green beans, it's a bush style heirloom variety with green yellow and purple beans. They definitely have been getting abused by some sort of insects but the leaves also look strange and off color. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? They started off growing very quickly and I imagine at the very least the insect damage is setting them back. I know they may be planted a bit close but wasn't gonna cut back until it was clearer which plants were the best growers. Some leaves look great some look almost like they're dying? submitted by /u/CP-RYOTT to r/vegetablegardening [link] [comments]

Green Beans are the perfect volume vegetable
Just wanted to share this info. Green beans are the perfect vegetable when volume eating in my opinion. They have the right fiber makeup that makes them filling but they also stick with you a long time. I can eat a bunch of romaine but be hungry in an hour. I can eat a bunch of broccoli and feel SUPER stuffed for a while but then hungry soon. Green beans hit just right. I have included a picture of a dinner I’ve been eating often. For reference I think this was around 350 grams of green beans. My “Asian style green beans” are fresh green beans that I boil until Al dente. Then I cook a tiny amount of oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, white wine in a skillet and toss the green beans in that. Then I drizzle with a bit of sesame oil. I have them here with a chicken thigh and rice, but I have eaten just a huge plate of green beans before for dinner and felt completely satisfied all night. Anyways, just wanted to talk about how much I love green beans. submitted by /u/ye110wsub to r/Volumeeating [link] [comments]

How do I make green beans interesting?
My wife loves them so she planted tons in our garden. This time of year we’re swamped with them. To me they are only ok. I steam them then toss with butter. Any other ideas? submitted by /u/Hieremias to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Why is NOBODY talking about green beans?
I use greenbeans as pasta constantly and my life is forever changed. Green beans with marinara... eh.. green beans and alfredo? Yes please. Whenever there is a craving for pasta, why pull out that giant paleo cookbook your mother in law kindly (but erroneously) purchased for you when you have the holy grail chilling in your cabinet just waiting to be discovered. seductive whisper Greenbeans.
