we cut it like a cake though. 2008. edit: jesus, I'm floored and slightly concerned at the amount of attention this post got. sorry for dropping out suddenly. I was temp banned for a few days by the fun police automoderator for not referring to myself in a pc enough manner. so gg reddit, I sure feel protected! I'll address some common questions: q. how did it taste? a. it was pretty good, I think it could have been better if we changed something with the cooking. meat was a bit dry, forgot how the bun was, probably tasted like a bun. ultimately it was tasty and made for some bomb leftovers that lasted for like a week. q. have you ballooned in weight/got absolutely shredded since the photo? a. not particularly. I did change my lifestyle, learned my macros, bought a bike, and switched out lexapro for vyvanse. ultimately wound up going down from 330~ lbs to 205-215 (it fluctuates). so I'm healthy now - not all the way where I want to be as far as goal physique, but I'm planning on getting more serious about it when there's enough capacity in my life to reliably fit going to the gym on the daily. for now I lift dumbells at home. for those curious about what I look like now, here's a link to my comment that has a recent selfie. reception appears to be mixed, but I'm happier with how I look and I feel it's a glow up (the volume of gorgeous twinks I've bagged over the years seems to back me up on that ☺️) q. did you grow up in (city, state)? a. no, I didn’t. q. do I know you? a. no, you don't. q. liar! there was a cake! a. I'd like to think that people would have the common sense to see the improbability of a business wanting to hire an 18+ account that regularly participates in nsfw subreddits to plug their shit. i can admittedly see why one could think it's ai though. it's a picture of a glossy printed photo my mom texted me, and she had the flash on, so some shit is washed out. it's not the best capture. if I knew the website had that same picture of me in higher quality I would have posted that instead, but alas, i didn't think to look it up until after i posted this. oh well. again, I thought this would have probably gotten like 300 upvotes at the most, not 30k, so I'm not putting myself on trial over this lol and god damn those other pics hurt to look at I was an ugly ass kid 😭 anyway, thank yall for the kind words, the 50000 peter griffin/jared fogel comparisons, and the roasts that were actually funny. this is probably always gonna be the highest ranked post on my account and I'll have to live with that, so well played. This has been the first successful bun I’ve ever made. They were SO good, and they held up to the roughing around of eating a hamburger. I’m never buying them again!! The difference was using bread flour. Well, MAKING bread flour with APF and vital wheat gluten. I didn’t realize how huge of a difference it would make! This is one of the projects I've been working on for a while. Ever since McDonald's switched out their buns I've wanted to get my hands on them as well, but you can't get them anywhere, obviously. So l've been trying to make my own. These are not your average, heavy homemade buns. Each of them weighs only 75 grams, they're incredibly airy and soft, exactly like the real Big Mac buns and I'm using the exact same ingredients (except for the glaze and the "Buttered Brioche" Flavor) as McDonald's Germany. I've had to come up with quite a few tricks to get a result like this. After a year of research, calculating ingredients, nutritional values and a lot of trial and error when it comes to the preperation method, proofing and baking in a regular home oven, I'm finally so close to perfection. This batch could needed a tiny bit more volume though, I should have let them proof for a bit longer, they're not quite as tall as I want them to be, but I'm still pretty pleased with the result.
