One thing that still surprises me is how picky the hd 600 is with tubes. I think most of my tubes sound great in one way or another on my Grados. But the HD 600 clearly pairs better with others. Or maybe I just like these headphones sounding a very specific way idk lol

I know this has been asked a million times, but I keep getting my mind set on one then end up hearing horror stories. After numerous Amazon returns (including AirPods Max), I’m on a mission to find the best headphones that won’t give me durability issues in the future. I still have my Sony wh1000xm3’s that still work flawlessly, however I am ready for an upgrade. All suggestions are welcome (apart from earphones as I’m only interested in headphones). Sony/Bose/Bowers and Wilkins/Nothing/Sennheiser, please help me cure my decision paralysis :) Update- thank you all for your responses I greatly appreciate it. I’ve decided to go for the Cambridge Audio Melomania P100 SE. Not a company I’ve used before but I must say they are incredible. Recordingnow.com made an extremely positive review about them, and as he has a background in pro audio I thought I’d give them a go. I definitely won’t be returning these. Hi all, I need some help choosing my next pair of headphones. I’m open to either over-ear or in-ear options, provided they are wireless and offer top-tier sound quality. My library is a bit of a mix; I listen to a lot of EDM and rap, but I also enjoy classical and rock. I was wondering on how good audiophile headphones sound. Maybe it’s not a good comparison but I have had some ‘decent’ headphones with in the 300 to 500 dollar price range but I was never impressed. I have never really enjoyed the sound of those headphones because I felt they are to direct and lifeless. I feel like sound needs to have some space, distance and air in order to ‘ripe’ to a good sound and gives it liveliness if that makes sense. I posted a very early iteration of this here about 6 weeks ago and got great feedback from ya'll so I built it into a full tool :) What it does: analyzes Reddit sentiment at scale. This pulls every product mention from r/headphones in the last 2 years, runs sentiment analysis on each comment using a finely tuned machine learning model, and ranks by different metrics. Sorted by most discussed here - not "best", just what's getting the most conversation. You can also sort by top rated, hidden gems, or filter by budget. A few notes before the pitchforks come out: Sentiment analysis isn't perfect - sarcasm and nuance slip through I have trained the model to filter out some bots, shillers and astroturfers but there is a lot more to do here Comments where someone says they own the product are weighted higher Grades are Bayesian - penalizes small sample sizes so a product with 50 perfect reviews doesn't outrank one with 1000 solid ones Sony WH-1000XM5 at #19 with a C will probably raise eyebrows - that's what happens when a product is heavily discussed but sentiment is mixed.
