Hi desksetup community! I recently completed my new home office set up and thought I would share my thoughts on the various components. Happy to answer any questions you may have also. Desk - I went with the Desky L-Shape Melamine Sit Stand Desk in Classic Oak with white legs/frame. I went the largest size I could at 2000mmx1800mm. I am loving the desk, great size, easy to put together, looks fantastic and most important is exceptionally stable at both sitting and standing height. I would highly recommend Desky desks to anyone looking for a sit/stand desk. Also got the matching shelf and draw which adds extra functionally. Cable management is also great, as I have about 10 different things plugged in under the desk all running off a single cord to the wall outlet. Monitor - Dell UltraSharp 27 4K Thunderbolt Hub Monitor - U2725QE. The monitor is fantastic, even with using a Mac. I cant notice any of the scaling issues that talked about online. It has great brightness and colours. I dont do any significant creative work, I am very much office style work and this monitor is perfect for what I do. Light Bar - BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2. Fanbloodytastic! This is my first light bar I have ever owned, and I cant believe it has taken me this long to get one. Yes it is expensive but the quality of the light on my work surface and the back light just make such a huge difference. Highly recommend! The seperate control wheel/dial is also fantastic, and love all the features. I use the backlight at 100% brightness during the day when I have great ambient light from outside, and the front light at 50%. At night I reduce both by about half. Chair - Ended up going with the Desky Pro Ergonomic Mesh Chair in Mint Green. This was the one component of the set up that took the longest to decide on. I was considering The Haworth Fern and the Steelcase Gesture. I ended up going with the Desky, and really happy with it. It is still a very expensive chair at just over $1,000, but I saved almost that much again by not going with one of the other 2. It is really comfortable, great lumbar support and I think looks the best of any chair I considered. Only downside is the arms are only up/down adjustable, ideally you would be able to adjust sideways also. Speaker - Soundblade Under Monitor Soundbar in Mint Green. Relatively cheap at $120, but I am really happy with the sound quality. I know you can get better sounding speakers, but what really attracted me to it was the look and how it neatly sits under your monitor. Webcam - Logitech MX Brio 4K. This is my first dedicated webcam, as I had previously just used the built in ones on my laptop. Have to say I knew it was going to be better, but wow the difference is huge. The picture quality is amazing and the beam forming microphone does a decent job. Really happy with it. Printer - Epson ET-2810. I dont do a huge amount of printing, it is mostly for the kids school assignments etc. So just wanted something in white, not too big and eco tank ink tanks so you knew you always had ink when required. Really happy with it and not too expensive at about $400 from memory. Wireless Charger - Just a random Amazon charger, but went with this because it was also made of Oak Wood and matched the aesthetics of my set up. Works well, and look great, really happy with it. Accessories - The bin is from Target, only $19, has an auto opener and also in the mint green to match. Lamps are from Bunnings, which were relatively cheap but match the Oak wood/white & the Mint Green. Couch was from a local furniture retailer, not expensive. Side Table was also from Target, it was just over $100, but has a real marble top. Cushions from Target at $40 each. Lego was from the kids lego room, they enjoyed helping me decorate which was fun. I used to be into photography so have my Sigma 50-500mm out as decoration also. Overall - I am really happy with how it turned out, and really enjoy spending time here. I am not the sort of bloke that has tools in a garage or man cave, so this is my sort of man cave. I like that if I am not working I can sit back on the couch and watch Youtube or Netflix and be very happy in my space. I'm chasing some minimalist vibes here (at least on the desk), but it's still missing some decorations on the walls and something to fill out that empty left corner. Also I've been thinking about moving the mini ITX PC to the upper shelf so the disposition on the desk stays even. Oh and that's a raspberry pi with a 7"ish screen that I'll gonna replace with the new Corsair Xeneon Edge 14" (it's on the way). Other than that I'm really done with this huge quest of building the perfect home office setup for now.
