Looking for the best nugget ice maker 2026 that actually worth it
Looking to pick up a nugget ice maker for home and I keep going in circles reading reviews. My use is mostly iced coffee and drinks for 2–3 people, nothing heavy. What are you actually using long term that actually works great? Cleaning and noise matter too. submitted by /u/Ok-Move9389 to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

I got a new fridge. The description said it's got an ice maker.
Shouldn't ice maker actually make ice? This is just an ice tray. The freezer is more of an ice maker! When I type "ice maker" on the website I got the fridge from it offers me actual ice makers. EDIT: so it is nothing but a terrible translation. The UK site says "ice tray" but the Czech one says "ice maker" even tho we have a word for an ice tray and we would NEVER call it an ice maker. Even the search engine doesn't confuse those two submitted by /u/Saditko to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

Running out of ice constantly, is a countertop ice maker actually worth having
I go through ice like crazy every single day cold drinks, protein shakes, guests coming over and my freezer just can’t keep up. I’m constantly refilling trays, waiting hours, and somehow still running out at the worst times. It’s honestly way more annoying than it should be. So now I’m looking at countertop ice makers, but I’m not trying to waste money on some cheap unit that breaks in a few months or makes weird-tasting ice. A lot of reviews online feel fake or sponsored, so I don’t really trust them. I need real opinions from people who actually use these daily. Is it actually worth having one at home? Does it really keep up with heavy use? Any brands that are actually reliable long-term? Would appreciate honest feedback before I pull the trigger on this. submitted by /u/TaskAssist_EG to r/KitchenPro [link] [comments]

6 months in with a countertop ice maker, worth it or overrated?
Picked up a countertop ice maker about six months ago after seeing it recommended in a couple of subreddits. Here's my honest take after actual use: WHAT WORKS: Ice every 7-8 minutes without fail. Not having to remember to refill trays is genuinely life-changing if you make cocktails or iced drinks daily. The bullet ice is fine for most things. Power consumption is lower than I expected comparable to a small LED TV. WHAT DOESN'T: The ice bin isn't huge so you need to transfer to a freezer container if you're prepping for a gathering. Also the machine needs a cool, ventilated spot doesn't perform well in a hot kitchen corner. The bullet ice cools you drink fast but also melts soon. Overall I'd say yes, worth it if you're serious about home drinks. The sphere ice machines which have come up recently are genuinely impressive and im considering and upgrade now. submitted by /u/VanshS-123 to r/cocktails [link] [comments]

Best Countertop Ice Maker To Buy Right Now?
I’m setting up a home drink station and want to add a countertop ice maker. I’ve been relying on store-bought ice, but it melts quickly and doesn’t look very appealing. I’ve shortlisted a few models, but I’m unsure which one would be best for long-term use. Here’s what I’m looking for: Fast Ice Production: It should be able to produce ice quickly, especially when I have guests or need larger quantities on short notice. Ice Type & Quality: Ideally, I’d like clear, chewable ice (like nugget or Sonic-style), but I’m open to other types if they’re practical and not too bulky. Capacity: A decent storage bin is important—I don’t want to refill it constantly. Refilling a couple of times a day is fine, but not every hour. Noise Level: Quiet operation is a must. I’ve heard some machines can be quite loud, which would be a deal-breaker. Durability: I’m looking for a reliable unit that can last at least a few years without issues. I also have a question about storage - once the ice is made and sitting in the bin, how long does it typically last? Does it melt quickly, or does it hold up reasonably well? I’ve been considering brands like GE, EUHOMY, and NewAir, but I’m open to any recommendations based on real experience. Appreciate any advice thanks in advance! submitted by /u/valtsak to r/cocktails [link] [comments]

Anyone using a countertop ice maker that’s actually buy right now?
I've been looking for a good countertop ice maker for a while and honestly the options are overwhelming so hopefully this helps someone narrow it down. I'm in the $200-$300 budget range and don't want to buy something cheap that dies in 6 months i'd rather pay a little more once than deal with a replacement every year. if anyone's had one running daily for over a year please drop your experience below because that's what i actually need to know. Edit: After a ton of research here's what i found for best countertop ice maker 2026 ranked by value, reliability and ice quality: 1. GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker (~$500) The best nugget ice maker you can buy right now for home use. Nugget ice chills drinks faster without watering them down which is exactly what you want for cocktails and everyday drinks. expensive but people who have it swear they'd never go back. is it worth $500+ for a home countertop ice maker though? genuinely asking 2. Frigidaire Portable Compact Ice Maker EFIC189 (~$120-$150) Best budget countertop ice maker under $200 for daily use. makes ice fast, easy to clean, reliable. not nugget ice but solid clear cubes if that's what you need. good pick if you just want something affordable that works 3. EUHOMY Nugget Ice Maker (~$200-$250) Best nugget ice maker under $300 in my opinion. gets you close to Opal quality at almost half the price. been getting really strong reviews lately and seems like the sweet spot for people who want nugget ice without spending $500 4. Silonn Nugget Ice Maker (~$180-$200) Newer brand but quietly becoming one of the best affordable nugget ice makers out there. quieter than most, consistent ice output and easier to clean than you'd expect 5. Silonn Portable 4-Power Ice Maker (~$150) Best portable countertop ice maker if you need something compact or want to move it around. great for small kitchens, dorm rooms or if you entertain and need extra ice at parties my honest take for US buyers: if your budget is under $300 the EUHOMY is the move, best nugget ice maker for the price right now. if budget isn't a concern the GE Opal 2.0 is the best countertop ice maker you can buy period. the Frigidaire is the best cheap countertop ice maker if you just need something reliable and affordable fast. cleaning process on all of these is simple just run a cleaning cycle with ice maker cleaner once a month and they last years. Nugget Ice Maker Recommendation
Hey all, I want a nugget ice maker for home, chewable, fast, reliable, and not too annoying to refill/clean. My kitchen isn’t huge but we drink a lot of cold drinks and smoothies, so having good ice matters. I’ve seen Opal, Scotsman, GE, KitchenAid, and some new countertop ones from 2025–26, but I’m not sure what’s actually worth the money. Questions: • Which model do you actually use and love? • Any you’d avoid or regret buying? • How’s the noise, speed, and maintenance? Update: Quick follow up since a bunch of you asked what I ended up doing. I grabbed a countertop unit after comparing a bunch of models on Walmart’s ice maker listings and it’s honestly been a solid fix for us. It keeps up way better than our fridge ever did for get togethers. It’s not silent, but it’s more of a steady fan/hum and hasn’t bothered anyone during parties. Biggest “ugh” is you do have to stay on top of cleaning and keeping it topped up, but so far it’s been worth it. Note: the link above is an affiliate link, so I may earn a small commission if you buy through it (no extra cost to you). We have people over constantly and our fridge ice maker can't keep up. I'm looking at countertop ice makers that can crank out ice faster but reviews are all over the place. Some are cheap like 100-150 bucks but people say they break in 6 months. More expensive ones are 250-400 and supposedly more reliable but I don't know if that's true or just price justification. The main things I care about are speed, how much ice it holds, and whether it'll last more than a year. I don't need fancy shapes or clear ice just regular cubes that work. Also concerned about noise because our kitchen is open to the living room and I don't want a loud machine running during parties. For people with countertop ice makers, do they actually produce enough ice for regular entertaining or do you still end up buying bags from the store? And which brands hold up vs which ones are junk that dies fast? submitted by /u/Sugunan_Fearfield to r/Appliances [link] [comments]

The most reliable ice maker brand?
My family loves ice. We go through it like crazy, especially when it comes to iced coffee, water, and cocktails. We’ve been looking for a solid ice maker to add to our kitchen, but I’m torn between fridge models and standalone units. I’ve heard mixed things about both. Are there any fridge companies that actually make a reliable ice maker with decent volume? What about standalone units? Are they any better when it comes to maintenance and ice quality? We want something that can handle daily use but without too much hassle or constant refilling. Any thoughts or recommendations would be really appreciated! submitted by /u/lazerbeem123456 to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

Why did the makers of Assault on Arkham make a character with ice powers incredibly hot? Are they stupid?

YSK if you own a Samsung refrigerator with a malfunctioning ice maker, you can get a free replacement
Why YSK: There has been a lot of issues with Samsung’s french door refrigerators and their ice makers. The ice maker will freeze over causing it to no longer make ice until force thawed and ice will melt in the storage holder. If you contact Samsung with a model that has this issue, they’ll send a technician to fix it for free even if it’s outside the warranty period. submitted by /u/islanders571 to r/YouShouldKnow [link] [comments]
