WTS: Kindle PW 12th, Jailbroken. $120
Device is already JB, see the photos for software versions. I believe the buyer will need to reinstall KUAL when I deregister the device from my account. From what I've ready that's easy and won't affect the JB, that's on the buyer to research first. Comes with the offical Kindle fabric cover. Selling because I've found audio books to be my style, if I need to read something I use my tablet. $120, firm, buyer pays shipping from Montana. submitted by /u/Hatter_MT to r/ereader [link] [comments]

I created a mockup of what a potential 5” Paperwhite 12th Generation might look like.
With more companies now making smaller and pocketable e-readers, I created a mockup of what a potential 5” Paperwhite 12th Generation might look like. Hopefully Amazon will see the interest/demand and release a smaller version for the 13th generation. Thoughts? submitted by /u/ninecup to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Jailbroken Kindle PW 12th Gen
So I used the recent Nosebleed on my Paperwhite Signature Edition 12th Gen PW6 and it is blacklisted after Amazon claimed they screwed up during my delivery leaving the item in the pouring rain and refunded me and said to keep it but subsequently blacklisted which I understand. They won't unblacklist it at this point again i understand why. What are my benefits? I don't like KOreader, I use Calibre and the main UI for my manga which works great. The only thing that bothers me are the screen asking me to log in and the cloud error every time I go back to the library. Is there anything I can do to remove these, not looking to fake a registration or anything just remove them. https://preview.redd.it/j7qpwjqxhepg1.jpg?width=1848&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dcc046faa9ae6b01aede3f48dc0532869d5e2878 submitted by /u/Utsu_Nova20 to r/kindlejailbreak [link] [comments]

Upgraded from Kindle 10th Gen to Paperwhite (12th Gen) today — and wow
Today I finally upgraded my Kindle 10th Gen to a Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen, and I didn’t expect the difference to be this noticeable. I’ve had my Kindle 10th Gen for years. The cover is worn out and you can definitely see the mileage on it, but it has been such a reliable reading companion. So many books and late-night reading sessions it’s honestly a little sentimental letting it go. What really shocked me was the speed difference. I guess I got used to the old Kindle over time, but when I started using the Paperwhite today, the screen responsiveness immediately stood out. Taps register instantly and everything just feels smoother. Out of curiosity I compared them side by side and holy smokes my 10th Gen suddenly felt really slow. I honestly never noticed it before today. Right now I’m reading the Lightlark saga, and it’s been really fun experiencing it on the new Paperwhite. Still love my old Kindle, but I think it’s time for it to graduate to a new owner and continue its reading journey with someone else. Anyone else here upgrade from the basic Kindle to a newer Paperwhite and get surprised by the speed difference? submitted by /u/HarleenKweenzel to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Kindle Paperwhite 12th Generation Feedback Please
I'm thinking of buying a Kindle Paperwhite 12th Generation, but I'd like to hear people's opinions? I did have the Kindle 2024 11th Gen 6" device, but over the course of six months it developed so many vertical and horizontal lines on the screen. The returns process has been an absolute nightmare, so I'd prefer to get a different model so that I don't potentially have to go through that again! I've looked at online reviews, but I'm aware that those can sometimes be 'biased'. Thanks in advance! ☺️ submitted by /u/cc040584 to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Just got myself a Kindle Paperwhite 12th gen!
I will (hopefully) still love my Kobo Clara Colour as well, but so far I'm liking the Kindle! I bought a Kindle alongside the Kobo because I also want to be able to support amazon-only authors! Unfortunately I can't have Kindle Unlimited here in The Netherlands, so I will buy the ebooks every now and then. It does take me getting used to the bigger screen and the power button is on the bottom which is kind of inconvenient. submitted by /u/kesje91 to r/kindle [link] [comments]

2018 Kindle Paperwhite 10th Generation, sweet spot?
Probably the best-sized Kindle overall: great thumb placement, 6 inches, and 300 ppi. The screen size feels like the perfect balance between readability and comfort, especially for long one-handed reading sessions. I don’t really see a strong reason to upgrade to the 2024 7-inch Paperwhite. The larger screen seems to reduce usable thumb space, which matters more to me than slightly more text per page. For mostly text-based reading, I’m not convinced the warm screen option alone justifies the change. Curious what others think — does the 7-inch actually feel better in daily use, or is the 6-inch still the sweet spot? Should I upgrade to the 12th generation 2024 model? submitted by /u/MaverickHolster to r/ereader [link] [comments]

Low Brightness of Kindle Paperwhite 12th Generation: Should I RMA?
Recently got a 12th gen Paperwhite. The unit appears fine otherwise, however, the brightness from the frontlight seems low. I also have a 11th gen paperwhite. I compared both of them side by side. The 12th gen seems a lot less brighter than the 11th gen. To get equivalent brightness with the front light on both devices: I have to set the 12 th gen at 17 fronlight brightness and the 11th gen at 11. Both devices have the same warmth. Could my specific 12th gen Kindle Unit be defective? Anyone noticed similar issues with the 12th gen paperwhite. Appreciate the feedback and advice. submitted by /u/iamjimmy18 to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Is Kindle Paperwhite 12th gen MUCH better than 11gen?
Hi friends! My question: is Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation significantly better than 11th in terms of contrast (especially with low light and high warmth on, I.e. a late night setup)? I bought Paperwhite SE 11th gen last year, and with my luck 12th was release just 3 months after. I notice that my eyes get tired in low light settings with 11th. And thinking of upgrading to 12th. But on the other hand, I “just” bought my 11th. It’s almost brand new and could in theory last for years. So I am nit sure whether or not to buy 12th. If it is really, really a big improvement over 11, I will, of course, splurge. Would love to hear your opinions! submitted by /u/True-Astronaut-15 to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Got my first kindle! Paperwhite 12th gen :))
Doing my readings from here. It is bigger than I expected -I assume basic would be too small but I guess it’d be enough- but I am getting used to it Been using it without a case even though I bought an original one because it makes it heavier. I’ve been loving it so much!!! submitted by /u/EveryDot2266 to r/kindle [link] [comments]

My new kindle paperwhite 😁🥳
I got a new kindle! I had a kindle basic 10th generation for 5 years now. I got it as a gift for getting more than 85% in my 10th boards (if you're Indian, you would know). I scored 87%, which i don't think my dad expected but he was happy and obliged to gift me a kindle. Now after 5 years, even though i am still in awe of the device, my eyes aren't. I have been tearing up a lot when i use the brightness on the kindle and i always wanted the dark mode to be on it. So after 3 years of manifesting, my dad relented and got me a new kindle!! This is the kindle paperwhite 12th generation since this is the only model available in India and i am obsessed with it. I literally cannot stop playing with it. The dark mode is obviously the reason i wanted it but the warm mode is so unexpected. I never thought the warm mode would make the reading experience so comfortable. Its something i didn't even know i needed. I am so in love with my new kindle 💌💌💌 I also made a reaction, well not exactly a reaction but my thoughts so that i can come back to that moment of receiving this beautiful device. I'll link it so that you can watch it as well if you want to. Yeahhh after watching so many people gushing about their kindle on reddit, instagram and youtube, i too have a reel and video and this post to gush about my own new kindle. You can't even imagine how happy i am 😁😁😁😁🥰 submitted by /u/5toryb00k to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Help! “Invalid ASIN” Error When Transferring Downloaded Books to Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen
Hi everyone, I’m having trouble with my Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation. Whenever I try to transfer ebooks (downloaded from the internet) to my Kindle, I get the following error message: “Invalid ASIN — Sorry, the selected ASIN is not valid for digital purchase on Kindle. Please continue shopping in the Kindle Store.” The message in the photo is in Spanish. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a way to fix it? I’ve searched on Google but didn’t find anything about this error, so any tips related to Calibre or anything else would be especially helpful. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Marcos_Lorente to r/Calibre [link] [comments]

Kindle Paperwhite 12 Signature Edition (2024) Calibre DeDRM Plugin
I would like to upgrade my Kindle Paperwhite 5th generation to the latest Paperwhite 12th generation Signature Edition 32 GB. With my old Kindle, I was able to download the ebooks via WiFi and then transfer ebooks from my Kindle to my Calibre library via USB and remove the DRM automatically, using the DeDRM Plugin alongside the stored serial number of my Kindle. Can anyone confirm whether this is still possible with the latest Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation? submitted by /u/Active_Connection_28 to r/Calibre [link] [comments]

Finally upgraded my 5th Generation Paperwhite to a 12th
My husband has just bought me a new Paperwhite as a random surprise. I’m so happy! My old 5th generation Paperwhite is still going strong, but it will be nice that the pages will turn faster, not skip ahead randomly or completely crash when I’m trying to buy new books. I just need a cover now. submitted by /u/Frequent_Potato5658 to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Paperwhite 7th Gen to 12th Gen Signature Edition
My 2016 Paperwhite was due an upgrade thanks to its declining battery life, and with the new models out it was finally time to bite the bullet! I was torn between the Colorsoft and the Paperwhite but as I don’t read comics and would use my iPad for cookbooks, I couldn’t justify the extra cost for an inferior reading experience - the darker screen and fuzzier text wouldn’t be worth having colour book covers on the home screen to me. Maybe in a couple of generations I’ll make the jump then. The most noticeable difference, other than the size, is the SPEED of 12th Gen model - I never realised how slow my old Kindle was until now. Everything is so much more responsive and you barely notice any page turns - it’s practically instant! submitted by /u/enchiladachode to r/kindle [link] [comments]

Don't compare your new Paperwhite (12th Gen) to previous generation Kindles.
I’m seeing some people here who have the new one start comparing it to their older Paperwhite or Oasis. You need to keep in mind that the new Paperwhite uses a new display tech so it doesn’t make sense to expect to see the same display. The display uses an oxide thin-film transistor which gives it higher contrast ratio, faster page turn speeds and refresh rates. Your eyes are so used to the previous display that you’re seeing the new one yellow. The previous display is very white and has a slightly blue tint. The new one is warmer and might look yellow at first to you, especially when putting it side by side with an older Kindle, but you won’t notice it as your eyes adjust to it. The new Paperwhite has a display that is much closer to a paper and therefore mimics the appearance of ink on paper even more so, and is even more easier on the eyes. 12th Gen Paperwhite (top) vs. 11th Gen Paperwhite (photo by u/OrganicNebula) After using it for a few hours though, the new one looks white to me and the old one looks way too blue. I went through the same thing when I bought a new OLED TV and new iPhones, I think the warm color is more accurate. link to comment submitted by /u/cryptic-fox to r/kindle [link] [comments]

12th Gen Kindle Paperwhite
Looks like someone has stock of the yet unreleased 12th Generation Kindle Paperwhite, and posted it on eBay for a short amount of time. Photos from the listing attached. If this is a genuine product (I believe it is) it looks to be a minor update, similar to the leaked Kindle Basic from a few weeks ago. submitted by /u/gavan820 to r/kindle [link] [comments]
