Low calorie sweet snacks when your brain demands volume
So I know this sub is mostly about meals but I needed to figure out the sweet snack side of things because that's where my volume brain goes off the rails. I can eat a responsible lunch but by 8pm I'm staring at the pantry wanting to demolish a sleeve of oreos. What's been working for me: A huge bowl of watermelon cubes. I'm talking like 2 cups. That's around 90 cals and it takes a while to get through. Frozen banana "nice cream" blended with cocoa powder and a splash of almond milk. Comes out to maybe 120 cals and makes a decent sized bowl. Jello made from scratch in a big container so I can eat a massive portion. With the sugar free mix it's basically nothing calorie wise. Apple slices microwaved with cinnamon until they get soft and warm. Tastes like apple pie filling. Maybe 80 cals for a whole apple. Shameless gummies for when I need the flavor hit more than the volume. Small bag but the flavor is concentrated enough that I don't need a big portion for this one. The watermelon and jello are the real volume winners here. Everything else is more about flavor satisfaction. I usually pick based on whether my brain wants quantity or taste on any given night. submitted by /u/lost-mekuri to r/Volumeeating [link] [comments]

Low calorie snack ideas that are naturally gluten free without buying the overpriced "GF" label
Can we talk about how the gluten free label adds like $4 to everything? I've started just buying things that are naturally gluten free instead of seeking out the specialty products and my grocery bill dropped a lot. Fresh fruit. Obviously. Apples, berries, bananas, oranges. No label needed. Veggies and hummus. Most hummus is naturally gluten free, just check the label to be safe. I buy sabra usually. Nuts and seeds. Almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds. Bulk bin prices are way better than the packaged GF trail mixes. Rice cakes. Plain ones are usually fine, just avoid the flavored ones that sometimes have malt. Shameless gummies. These are gluten free and I appreciate not having to read an ingredient panel for 5 minutes to verify it. Hard boiled eggs. I make a batch of 6 on Sunday and they last all week. Olives. Weirdly satisfying snack that's naturally GF and takes a while to eat. The gluten free market has gotten better over the years but the pricing is still ridiculous for anything with the label on it. Going naturally GF for snacks saves so much money and honestly the food is better anyway. submitted by /u/Time_Beautiful2460 to r/glutenfree [link] [comments]

What are your favorite zero to low calorie drinks?
Something that helps me stay on my diet is to HYDRATE! But I suck at drinking plain tap water. I need to be in the mood to drink filtered water. ...yes I know this isn't good. I'll drink water at restaurants but rarely at my house. I love snacking, and that includes water-based snacks. Can I call water a snack? That feels icky, LMFAO. TO BE CLEAR, I don't sub drinks for meals, but I'll have drinks in between or during meals to help me feel more full and satiated :> My favorite drink used to be Diet Coke, but I was having 3-4 cans a day and my fiancé begged me to give it up, and now I don't like the taste of it. :< My new hyper fixation is Bowl & Basket's Clear Delight, tropical flavor. It tastes like fanta, if fanta and seltzer water had a baby. It's 10 calories for the whole bottle (36oz). I'll have one or maybe 1.5 a day. It's actually cheaper than soda because I'll buy 14 bottles at a time, and it lasts 2 weeks. 36 cans of soda lasted me like...10 days. also NSV, but my pee has never been clearer. It doesn't even smell (sorry if TMI), it used to smell really acidic and gross. I used to be a teacher and could hold my pee for like 8 hours. Now I pee every hours to hour and a half. I'm incredibly hydrated, lmfao submitted by /u/DonTot to r/loseit [link] [comments]

I consume too many calories in snacks.
I can't stop eating, because I am so in hungry. I have given up ultra processed foods and I thought whole foods would fill me up more. I am trying not to eat more than 1500 calories a day and I eat like 1800-2000. I get so hungry so I'll eat fruit. Il cut up a pineapple, and then eat 2 cups. Then that will be like 160 calories and I'll still be hungry. So I'll eat a hardboiled egg with salt, and then I'll eat another then that's 144 calories. Then suddenly my snacks are 300 calories. Then I'll eat my normal meals and I'm over and then I best myself up. One mango is like 130.cslories and that doesn't fill me up either. Or I'll eat a couple of dates and then 8 if those are 200 calories. Dates do help me with my sugar cravings. I'm not sure what to do. I'm just not sure what to eat for a low calorie filling snack. submitted by /u/quintuplechin to r/loseit [link] [comments]

What're Your Go-To low calorie snack foods to keep my mouth busy
Hey yall! If this post has already been through the sub then I apologize, but I am wondering what some of yall's favorite low calorie snacks are. I'm finding myself constantly wanting to chew on something and I keep getting myself into trouble with wasting calories. I have often resorted to gum, sunflower seeds, and jerky. I know many people have a problem with jerky and seeds because they are high in sodium. However, I am just needing some ideas on how to keep myself busy and how I can satisfy my urge to chew or eat, without ruining my day. I've seen people recommend rice cakes, fruits, vegetables, etc. Just hoping to hear of some of yalls favorite ideas. submitted by /u/Canes10_ to r/loseit [link] [comments]

My new go to snack. Low calorie, high protein, sugar free!
Started ozempic a couple days ago. Honestly…it sucks feeling I’ve got food coming back up at night. This is light, helps with protein goal and sugar free. About 300 calories 54g of protein. Sugar free jello (family pack) 2 cups boiling water Combine them both, let it rest for a bit to cool Add 2 cups of Greek yogurt mix and boom! Refrigerate overnight or a few hours, top with zero sugar whipped cream submitted by /u/advictoriam5 to r/diabetes_t2 [link] [comments]

What’s a snack that you can eat a lot of with few calories.
I have a habit of overeating, and I think I realize, for better or for worse, that it's just because I like the feeling of eating moreso than tbe food I eat— I just like chewing I guess. Are there any snacks (preferable crunchy/volumunous, but not gum, I really don't like gum) that I can just munch on without much caloric intake? Some type of crunchy water-heavy vegetable perhaps? submitted by /u/Lopsided_Pay_3219 to r/Volumeeating [link] [comments]

For example… When I’m craving fries, nuggets, or a burger, I’ll snack on baby carrots and make a weird little concoction of ketchup , mustard, and relish to dip the carrots in. I think the crunchiness of the carrots paired with the ketchup/relish/mustard mixture solves for the flavors I’m craving from a burger. It’s weird, but so delicious. Thought it’d be fun to see what others do ✨ submitted by /u/reddit-rach to r/1200isplenty [link] [comments]

An 800-calorie-a-day “soup and shake” diet put almost 1 in 3 type 2 diabetes cases in remission, finds new UK study. Patients were given low-calorie meal replacement products such as soups, milkshakes and snack bars for the first 3 months. By end of 12 months, 32% had remission of type 2 diabetes.

What’s a low cal snack where you can just lay and eat it for a while??
I have a slight problem with binge eating. It comes when I’m at home. I get bored hungry. I’m hoping to find a snack that’s low calorie but where I can just eat it for a while. Like a good 30 ish minutes until I feel satisfied enough. Preferably not popcorn because of the kernels getting stuck in my throat lol unless yall know of a popcorn without kernels. I usually have just a big carton of goldfish and no other snacks but I’m still at the same/gaining weight. And don’t comment about a scale or tracking how much I eat because.. just don’t. That’s not what I’m asking for. I’m kinda thinking maybe mini bell peppers but I’m not the biggest fan of the flavor and I don’t always want something crunchy ya know? And the fridge is so far it makes me not even want to get that. If blueberries were cheaper then 🤩 but they aren’t. I also don’t like cream cheese or cottage cheese or dips if that helps. Edit: I could do fruit but I’ve tried that before and it didn’t work. As much as I love cantaloupe, you get tired of eating a large quantity every day lol submitted by /u/Kindly-Flatworm8084 to r/1500isplenty [link] [comments]

What are your favourite super low calorie snacks?
I've lost a tonne of weight the past 6 months, and looking to lose the same again. I eat primarily healthy food, for a low price (about £7.5/day - can eat on £3.5/day but it requires so much more prep and washing up) , and now I'm at a stage where I'd love some snacks which are super small in calories and yummy. I can afford to eat that now and stay on track with weight loss. Recently I found a 10 Calorie jelly, not super healthy, but it's filling and delicious... Anything else you like or recommend (which you can gorge on and not feel too guilty) ? submitted by /u/RattyRusty1 to r/EatCheapAndHealthy [link] [comments]

Can you please suggest some low calorie snacks that are not vegetables, fruit or hummus?
I've been trying to lose weight and am doing okay with dinners, but the problem is late at night I keep getting hungry for snacks and don't want to revert to my old air fryer favorites like french fries, mozzarella sticks, etc. I do like vegetables but not as snacks and I'm not too fond of fruit, but most of the suggestions I see on websites are combinations of fruits, vegetables and hummus. I do enjoy snacking on almonds, olives and pickles, but can't think of anything else. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Thank you all! When I first checked a few minutes after posting, this was downvoted to hell, so I didn't expect more than 3-4 replies. There are some delicious recommendations that I'll be adding to my grocery list. Also, I have tried not eating late, but when I'm hungry I have a hard time sleeping. I have tried drinking water when I'm hungry too, but then I ended up waking up to pee very late and slept poorly as a result. I'm trying to fix years of bad eating habits, so some low calorie snacks will help a lot. submitted by /u/kingofthedesert to r/EatCheapAndHealthy [link] [comments]
