Favorite low calorie desserts?
I frequently find myself craving sweets with anywhere between 50-200 calories left for the day. When it’s around 50, I’ll make myself a decaf coffee with sugar free creamer. I love coffee and I can’t have caffeine so I only drink decaf. Around 200, i’ll have a couple sugar free chocolates. Around 100, I’ll have some light vanilla greek yogurt with cinnamon, which is one of my favorites. I guess I’m really only asking because I’m curious, but I also wouldn’t mind some inspiration for future desserts from fellow sweet toothers! submitted by /u/Sad_Help to r/1200isplenty [link] [comments]

Discussion: low calorie dessert suggestions
Hello guys. For years I’ve been pretty successful at cutting down calories during the day through switching out some foods, eating less oil and such. However my real cravings come at night and are usually for something sweet. I tried making healthy at-home desserts, having individually wrapped sweets and not having desserts around at all. However I always reach for a jar of honey or some other form of sugar that I can find. I have found that having Diet Coke helps with cravings but doesn’t really terminate them completely. Please leave your low calorie desserts/late night snack suggestions below. What helps you stay consistent with your restriction? I always find that even if I stick to my plan for a few days I binge on sugar… submitted by /u/Majestic-Glass-1914 to r/goodrestrictionfood [link] [comments]

Nondairy low calorie
Just random picture . I can’t have dairy because of acne, but I can’t seem to find good low cal snacks or desserts without dairy. If I want a yogurt most of them have 150 cal just for a little cup and dairy yogurts can have like 60 cal. Does anybody know any good low cal brand of nondairy options? Advice for low calorie desserts?
Hi 😭 sorry I feel like this question has been asked a billion times probably but I really need some suggestions in case I’m missing smth,,, Due to my family traditions, I keep on finding myself in situations where I am obligated to eat or partake in dessert and as much as I want the solution to be just “take less dessert” “say no” Im from the kind of family where they don’t take no for an answer and if you finish dessert before everyone else it automatically = you gotta take seconds, and simultaneously, if you take too long to finish eating your dessert, it’s rude and they’ll interrogate you about wether you really like the food or not. At this point I've come to just understand that if I really want to avoid this entirely, I have to partake in preparing or deciding the food for family stuff so that I can have something that works for me. With that all being said, theyre probably definitely going to look at me really funny if I try to suggest a hyperspecific recipe with really “diet-y” ingredients (I hate using that word, but that’s how they’ll perceive it) Does anyone have any advice on desserts that wouldn’t feel too strange to suggest or bring but also doesn’t leave me keeling over after the family gathering? 🥲 Maybe also preferably something higher volume so I don’t finish it too quickly and end up getting pressured by my entire bloodline to take another plate 💔 thanks submitted by /u/OddieEngineering to r/1200isplenty [link] [comments]

15 calories for two and 90 calories for the bag! The texture is of course not as good as a traditional marshmallow but I like em! Game changing desserts <100 calories
These ice creams are all vegan 🌱 using plant based milk (almond or hazelnut) and come in delicious flavours like chocolate banana 🍌 with a hazelnut milk base, coconut mango (my toddler loves!!) - AND they’re all less than 100 calories. The best part is you don’t feel like utter gutter-trash after eating them compared to having a Magnum or Drumstick. We also have a brand of low calorie frozen yoghurt that comes in mini tubs, I like to dust PB2 powder and mix it up - so yum 🤍✨ What’s your favourite low calorie product? submitted by /u/CockroachCreative740 to r/1200isplenty [link] [comments]

Hi dears! I'm counting calories and looking for dessert ideas that actually taste good. I’m a beginner, so I’d love something easy to make. Calories being the same, which desserts are better?
Sorry for the long first post, but I feel I need to provide some context to my question and I hope this is the right sub for it. I’ve had a history of being in binge and restrict diets, being over weight, then losing a lot of weight, then gaining it back etc. over many years. I have a big sweet tooth, so my binges have typically involved a lot of sweets and desserts. I typically have relied on keto or low carb to lose and keep weight off in the past, which has been challenging as it can be very restrictive, so when I go into the holidays and allow myself sweet indulgences I typically don’t, the flood gates open and I go back to eating a lot of sweets and desserts. While I’m still generally low carb, over the past few months I’ve been a lot more focused on tracking my calories to remain in a deficit. I am trying to incorporate more regular desserts into my eating so I don’t fall into the extreme patterns I did in the past. Even though I understand that general weight control comes down to calories in calories out, what I can’t get my head around is calories being equal between 2 different desserts, is it better to go with a dessert with ingredients like real sugar or ingredients like sugar substitutes for long term sustainability and health? I see brands with 100 calorie desserts that are made with things like cane sugar, are higher carb and lower fat (typically “regular” desserts) etc. I see brands with 100 calorie desserts made with artificial sweeteners, are lower carb and higher fat (typically keto desserts), and then I see brands with 100 calorie desserts made with more natural alternatives like Stevia and monk fruit. Having had a low carb eating mindset for a long time, it’s a real challenge to switch my mindset to eating things with higher carb and sugar content, because I’m not sure how other desserts or higher carb foods are going to affect me even if my calorie intake remains the same. By “affect me” I mean affect my weight, if one is going to create more sweet cravings than the other, if one is going to affect blood sugar spikes and insulin response (which I do t really understand) more than the other, if one is more sustainable over long term than the other? Is it better to try to stick to one over the other, or incorporate all? Do the differences really matter if the calories stay the same and I exercise moderation and stay in calorie maintenance? I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you guys have. I’m tired of strict extreme dieting which I’ve found impossible to sustain over the long term, and I’m trying to find a healthier more sustainable way to manage my weight while still enjoying some sweets regularly without cutting them out months at a time and then binging during holidays. submitted by /u/katanastormshadow88 to r/CICO [link] [comments]

What are your go-to ingredients for lower-calorie desserts? (Or share your favorite recipes!)
I'm on a quest to find the holy grails of high-volume desserts that keep calories in check while still being satisfying. I keep running into recipes that start promising—cocoa powder, protein powder—but then take a turn with added sugar or ¼ cup of peanut butter. Don't get me wrong, these aren't bad, but I'm trying to find ways to make them even lighter on fats and carbs. I recently found a recipe for high-protein brownies using bananas, cocoa powder, peanut butter, and protein powder. When I swapped regular peanut butter for powdered peanut butter (PB2 or similar), it dramatically cut the fat while keeping the taste solid. The bananas add some carbs, but compared to restaurant desserts, this feels like a win. Since I'm still learning, I'd love to hear from you all: What are your essential ingredients for high-volume, lower-calorie desserts? So far, my short list includes: Powdered peanut butter Zero-calorie sweeteners What else should be in my arsenal? I missed the EPG boat (RIP Olestra days), so I'm looking for other swaps and hacks to keep volume high and calories low. And if you have any go-to recipes that already check all these boxes, I'd love those too! Thanks in advance for any tips! submitted by /u/BrooklynCatDad to r/Volumeeating [link] [comments]

actually good low cal high protein desserts that won't break your deficit
probably just like you, my instagram collection is full of recipes I'll never get back to (though I've been making it a mission to check them out snd actually do them) but it sometimes gets hard when I save a recipe because it looks stunning but one bite would be half my calorie deficit for the day. so I was wondering, do you have any instagram "influencers" (?) or fitness people that actually make really good tasting low calorie high protein desserts and foods? if so which recipes have you made / you recommend from them im very intrigued!! ps not just instagram! I know there are a ton of food blogs nowadays so anything is appreciated! edit: one of my recommendations is something I saw on Instagram (forgot the name of the creator) but I did like 10% of the steps. I just got 0 cal strawbrrry jello, broke it up slightly and added banana and berry protein shake!! it tasted SO good and made me feel like the hwachae trend with the strawberry milk haha. if I had fresh berries or whipping cream I'd definitely add those submitted by /u/Overall-Stand8183 to r/1200isplenty [link] [comments]

Why I can't buy low calorie desserts, it's because
MY PARENTS EAT THEM BEFORE ME! I bought 80 calorie s'more mochi, a pack of 6, and a 4 pack of Skinny Girl brand ice cream, 170 each, and I was like... shit! That'll last me a month because I don't eat dessert everyday. BUT NO! MY MOTHER ATE 3 OF THE MOCHI AND MY DAD ATE 2 OF THE ICE CREAMS ALREADY! And then he tried the mochi and had the AUDACITY to spit it out! He warned me that the desserts would not last until tomorrow so I promptly shoved the last 2 s'mores and ice cream in my mouth like a goblin, and now I'm 170 over my limit That last part was totally my fault, but in my defense, I tried to hide them but my dad stalked me like a hungry goblin. I ate them out of spite Sigh And thus ends my low calorie dessert quest. Alas, it's a sign from God. Dessert in my family is like drugs. What’s your go to low calorie dessert? And how do you approach desserts?
Until now, I haven’t been having true desserts since I started losing weight again in December. I am breastfeeding, so I wanted the calories I was eating to be very nutrient dense, and to have no sugary desserts. I have only had a sugary dessert for my daughter’s birthday last month since restarting my weight loss mode. I watched a video recently where someone was discussing how after losing a lot of weight, recently they’ve been having a square of dark chocolate for dessert everyday. So, I decided I’m going to start adding in a little dark chocolate some days. At the store today I got a Lily’s dark chocolate with sea salt (it’s sweetened with stevia) I had 4 squares for dessert, which is only about 47 calories. It is really satisfying, and I don’t feel like I need anymore! I’m glad I stopped having desserts for a period of time so that this now feels really satisfying. I will definitely have more true desserts occasionally once I lose the weight or stop breastfeeding, but this is really satisfying right now! submitted by /u/that_other_person1 to r/loseit [link] [comments]

Are there any low calorie desserts that actually taste good?
Hi guys, I'm usually a lurker on this sub. Over the past 3 years, I lost about 80 pounds. Then, over the last year, life got rough and I gained 50 of them back. I recently rediscovered my motivation and have lost 6 pounds since (woohoo!) but I know there's still a long way to go. I find it really helps to save some calories for a sweet treat in the evenings. However, I'm getting a bit tired of my current go to (protein ice cream with squirty whipped cream and some choc chips). I'm very into cooking and feel like I have tried so many low cal dessert recipes at this stage (I can make a mean brownie in a mug), but a lot of them end up being sooo disappointing! I would love to hear if anyone has any low calorie dessert recipes that actually taste good? submitted by /u/Ok-Project-9367 to r/loseit [link] [comments]

Best low calorie desserts?
I’m talking like 200 calories or less. I’m focusing the majority of my calories on eating protein throughout the day so every little calorie counts (no pun intended haha). I love chocolate so anything with that is super appreciated. Please God don’t say fruit. I know fruit is low calorie but I can’t survive just eating fruit every day. I’m 26F if that helps. Update: Thanks to everyone for the solid choices! A lot of people mentioned various ice creams so I will definitely look into those. I also greatly appreciate everyone that added links to recipes! low calorie warm desserts??

My top low-calorie but filling foods
Hi all - just achieved the half way point for my weight loss this morning (down 10 lbs) and I feel great! I feel like a lot of people start dieting by throwing out every starch in their house and stocking up on carrots and celery. That’s great!...if you like carrots and celery. If not, your diet will feel like a total chore all the time and you’ll probably “fall off the wagon” pretty quickly. I've never been a “garden salad, dressing on the side” type, so I thought I'd share some of my favourite low cal foods: a. Pickles – pickles have a ton of flavour and are under 5 calories each. They’re pretty salty, so if you have problems with sodium, I’d steer clear or at least keep in moderation. b. Turkey bacon – I actually prefer the taste of turkey bacon and it’s only 70 calories for two pieces. c. Berries– much less sugar than other fruits and they make an easy snack d. Salsa– I put it on chicken, baked potatoes, rice, anything really. e. Light cream cheese– I spread it on crackers, use it in sauces, have it with jam on crackers to make a tiny cheesecake-like dessert. It’s quite rich and creamy so a little goes a long way and I can’t really tell the difference between it and regular cream cheese. f. Pellegrino (or any sparkling water) – I get really bored of just drinking water, but a cold Pellegrino with a twist of lime is delicious and refreshing, and makes me feel like I’m having a something fancy g. Skim milk lattes – I don’t usually have an appetite in the morning, so I’ll often have a skim latte for breakfast. Not only do I get my coffee but the protein in the milk is enough to keep me full until later in the morning. h. Balsamic vinegar– really low in calories but flavourful. I use it to marinate chicken or pour over a caprese salad i. Eggs – I don’t even worry about removing the yolk or anything. A poached egg on a piece of whole wheat toast with a slice of turkey bacon and some raspberries leaves me full for several hours. j. Salmon– tastes great with just a squeeze of lemon and has a ton of protein I'd love to know what your favourite weight loss foods are too! submitted by /u/el_diamond_g to r/loseit [link] [comments]
