I’ve been going back and forth on this and still not fully sure where I land. Tried mushroom coffee for about two weeks I think it was everyday dose ,after seeing it mentioned here a bunch. I wasn’t expecting much, figured it was either going to feel the same or just weaker coffee. The weird part is it didn’t feel stronger or more energizing.The energy was more steady. But I also noticed I wasn’t doing that thing where I open five tabs, start three tasks, and then forget what I was doing in the first place. Focus felt different. Less intense but also less scattered. I could sit with one task longer without needing to get up or check my phone every ten minutes. It almost felt like I had fewer thoughts competing for attention. At the same time I keep questioning it because it’s subtle. Like I’m not suddenly a productivity machine or anything. There’s no obvious “kick” like regular coffee. So part of me is like maybe I just expected to feel calmer and that’s what happened. I still drink regular coffee sometimes and I can definitely feel the contrast. It’s more energy but also more edge, if that makes sense.How was your experience with it? Listen. I have been ordering the exact same thing, a large triple triple and an old fashioned plain donut, like twice a week since the literal dawn of time. In over a decade, my order has been wrong maybe three times. THREE. So my(f35) step daughter (f15) lives with us every each week and for the past year she has been a nightmare when it comes to food. First she became vegan, which I have no problems with, I just make her food sans animal products but that didn’t stick and that’s normal too. Now she is holistic and she started having allergies from everything. Salted Nuts, lactose, processed foods, gluten, red meat, mustard, mushrooms and anything a loser instagram influencer is making money telling people is dangerous. I had enough when she started demanding that I separate her cookware even in the dish washer. Separate her food in the fridge and freezer. Take out all my salted nuts and sugars etc and throwing them in the trash because she complained about stomach pain that she attributed to contamination from the pantry. I told her that she should either eat outside or do her own cooking and cleaning from now on. She started raging saying that I was treating her differently from the rest of the family and I am the evil stepmother. My husband started yelling at me. I asked him to take her to do an allergy screening and seek mental help for eating disorders and surprise surprise she had no allergies but her answer was that this doesn’t matter, what matters is what she believed. “Her stomach ache was actually a real thing”. So yes I can’t have anything in my house now and I have to make her food in almost a separate kitchen. I had enough. I started putting gluten and lactose in almost everything she ate especially the chicken soup that she loves so much. She has been eating this for the past 6 months until her mom dropped her off one day and stayed for coffee, talking about how actually their health has been better since her daughter l’s new kitchen rules. I just said really? She feels better? The daughter yelled at me yes I don’t have stomach issues anymore. I just calmly said great I wonder what changed because you have been eating the same food as the rest of us over the past months especially the chicken soup you love so much. She started yelling and throwing things off the shelfs and her mother started yelling at me too and they left. My husband was angry at me and called what I did reckless because she is refusing to live with us now and I said great if you want her to live with you then you can move the hell out too. They have filed a lawsuit against me but it will get dropped the minute the judge looked at the case. My husband is still angry at me but I will not change my mind that if he wants his daughter he should move out to be with her and I would actually understand if he chose his daughter over me. Now she demands that I apologize and divide the kitchen to two areas if she “ever” to live with us again because she has been having stomach problems since I started feeding her normal food. I urged my husband and his ex to seek mental help for her bot told them she is not welcome to my home. I am a nurse and I work almost 60 hours a week. My father in law has breakfast every Saturday morning at a restaurant. He gets there at 6 am when they open and usually stays until 8:30 or so. His kids and grandchildren drop in and out, most do not stay the whole time and they either pay their own checks on the way out or leave him cash to cover their bill and he pays before he leaves. Last Saturday I went late and crossed him leaving. My wife and daughters waited for me. I ordered and they chatted while I ate. They headed home while I went to the counter to pay the check. It was $171! I immediately asked for an itemized receipt and after a bit of hesitation the waitress provided it. I took one l look and knew I had been stuck with my sister in laws check too. The waitress confirmed that she had been there early and didn’t pay before leaving. The waitress assumed someone else would pay it as they sometimes do. I requested that she separate the checks. My family of 4 was $60. Sister in laws’ family of 3 was $111. The manager came over to discuss the situation and said I could pay, sister-in-law could come within 30 minutes and pay or he would call the police. I called sister-in-law and she said she was out of town and asked me to pay it and she’d pay me ‘later’. I told her she could Venmo or cash app me right away and I’d pay it. She asked the total and I told her. She then asked what her share was and I told her that was her total as we had separate checks. She didn’t understand how breakfast for 3 could be $111. I read the ticket. Coffee, orange juice, milk and coke for everyone = 4 x $3 each x 3 people = $36. Double cheeseburger with fries $15, side of hash browns $3, add grilled onions and mushrooms $2 add extra cheese $2 add bacon $3 = $25. All meat omelet meal $12 add a side of bacon $3 add stack of pancakes $5 = $20. French toast $10 add blueberries $1 add strawberries$1 add side of bacon $3 add grits $3 add cheese $2 = $20 = 101 + tax $10 = $111. She said she didn’t understand how it added up to so much. I told her that was how her family always ordered so I didn’t understand how she didn’t understand how all the extra things add up, but I wasn’t willing to spend my whole Saturday dealing with it. She could send me money right away to pay her check or I was leaving without paying it. She sent me the exact amount, no tip. I paid, tipped the waitress and left. I told my wife and she said that her sister never leaves enough to cover her bill. Sister-in-law called my father in law and complained that her day was ruined. They were planning to go to the opening weekend of the water park and buy season passes but couldn’t afford it after paying for breakfast. He thinks I’m a jerk for putting her on the spot knowing the probably couldn’t afford $100+ for breakfast. He says he forgot she had been there and thinks I should have just paid and asked for the money later and says he would have paid me if she didn’t. So Aitah for asking a 30-something year old woman to pay for her own ‘forgotten’ breakfast check and insisting that she paid me right away because she has a history of not repaying debts? INFO: After talking to my wife a little more, SIL usually leaves some cash with someone in the family and asks them to pay so she doesn't have to wait for her check. It's not enough to cover, so whoever it is just pays the difference. It isn't always FIL.
