Ramen Noodles in Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
Served in the 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup that both the noodles and soup were cooked in. In the microwave, or course. Easy peasy cleanup. Yummo! --- Well that blew up! For the record... Yes, those are real ramen noodles. Either from cheap ramen packs, or from a bulk pack of plain ramen noodles. Bought from a real asian grocery from a real asian grocery store owner. No ramen noodle pack "seasoning", so not as much sodium as some infer. Still too much for frequent eating. So I don't. It takes awesome! Here's the "recipe": Open 2 cheap ramen packs. Throw away the seasonings. Boil 2 ramen bricks (blocks? nests?) until done to your likeness. Drain ramen, set aside. In same dish, make soup. Dump noodles in soup. Add Worcestershire sauce, pepper, or whatever seasonings you like. Eat half, then pass to the better half. Enjoy! 1 pot, 1 fork. I prefer the Pyrex since it's easier to clean then a pot. submitted by /u/GrottyBoots to r/shittyfoodporn [link] [comments]

This creamy chicken mushroom soup has no cream, no flour, and still tastes like comfort in a bowl
I started out just trying to use what I had in the fridge, and it turned into one of the best soups I’ve ever made. It’s thick, cozy, and feels rich, yet it’s packed with vegetables and doesn’t use any cream or flour. The base is roasted cauliflower that I blended into a purée. I caramelized three cartons of mushrooms in butter and a little beef tallow with a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra flavor. The soup has chicken, potatoes, onions, celery, carrots, sun-dried tomatoes, kale, and thyme simmered in a Better Than Bouillon broth. I finished it with a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness. Creamy Chicken Mushroom Soup (No Cream or Flour) Ingredients 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 3 cartons mushrooms (about 24 oz), sliced 2 bags pre-chopped cauliflower (about 32 oz total) 5 small potatoes, diced 2 cups chopped onions 5 celery stalks, diced 3 carrots, chopped 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped 2 handfuls kale, chopped 2 tbsp butter 2–3 tbsp beef tallow 5–6 cups water 6 tsp Better Than Bouillon (chicken) ½ tsp dried thyme ½–1 tsp red pepper flakes Juice of ½ lemon Salt and pepper to taste Instructions Roast the cauliflower: Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast at 425°F for 25–30 minutes until tender and golden. Blend with 1 cup broth or water into a smooth purée. Caramelize the mushrooms: Heat 1 tbsp tallow or butter in a wide pan over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms in a single layer. Let them brown without stirring for 3–4 minutes. Add red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt. Cook until golden, then set aside. Brown the chicken: In a large soup pot, melt the remaining butter and tallow. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and thyme. Brown on all sides and remove. Build the base: In the same pot, add onions, celery, and carrots. Sauté 4–5 minutes. Add potatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, Better Than Bouillon, and 5–6 cups of water. Return the chicken. Simmer 15–20 minutes until vegetables are tender and chicken is cooked through. Finish the soup: Stir in the cauliflower purée, mushrooms, and kale. Simmer for 5 minutes until the kale softens. Add lemon juice and adjust seasoning. submitted by /u/Mlkbird14 to r/soup [link] [comments]

Perogies in mushroom soup. I do blend the soup so there aren’t mushroom chunks and it’s more of a smooth sauce but my LO devours it. I do take the filling out of the wrap if they are too thick and sticky. Also I’ve been blending spinach into pasta sauces and stuff for a little extra greens in the diet. I make mash potatoes with carrots and was going to add spinach too.

I just made the absolute best mushroom soup of my life. I feel like sharing.
Bear with me, I'm in the afterglow. I love mushrooms. I am in the midst of a 3 day off period. I've been wanting to make mushroom soup for a few days. So I went out and got everything this morning. No measurements here. It's all by feel. Except the mushrooms since I used whole containers. First I quick pickled some fresnos and jalapenos and garlic/onion/thyme. I sauteed half a white onion and a whole GIANT shallot. Butter, salt. Deglazed with a lot of marsala cooking wine (my local place didn't have real marsala). Added 1 tbsp each butter and flour to make a roux. Added Worcestershire, thyme, and garlic. Started cooking my varied mix of mushrooms in another pan with butter and olive oil. I kept that at medium heat until it started getting dark. Then I added more garlic. Kill the heat and stir until the garlic blooms. I put half the browned mushrooms in and kept simmering for a while. Then put in the blender until smooth. Mixed it all together and added my toppings. I've made mushroom soup before but this is something special. I toasted some sourdough to dip in it and it is exquisite. Pics submitted by /u/running_on_empty to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Hungarian Mushroom Soup
This comes together super fast and has great flavor. Definitely serve with crusty buttered bread. This is the original recipe. The only change I made was swapping rosemary for thyme. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 2 cups chopped yellow onion (about 2 large onions) 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste 1 1/2 pounds button mushrooms, sliced 2 tablespoons fresh dill, plus more for serving 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves 2 teaspoons paprika, plus more for serving 3 cups vegetable stock 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup whole milk 1/2 cup sour cream, plus more for serving Freshly ground black pepper, to taste Sauté the onions and mushrooms: Melt the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and salt and sauté until nearly translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and continue to cook until all of the liquid from the mushrooms has started to cook off and the mushrooms themselves have shrunk by about a third, around 10 minutes. Make the soup base: Add the dill, thyme, and sweet paprika and stir to combine. Let cook for a minute before adding the vegetable stock. Turn the heat up to medium-high. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let simmer for at least 10 minutes. Add the flour and milk to a small bowl and whisk to combine, then add to the pot. Let cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 10 more minutes. Finish and serve: Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream. Season to taste with more salt and freshly ground black pepper before serving with a little more sour cream, sweet paprika, and fresh dill over each bowl. submitted by /u/erikisst88 to r/soup [link] [comments]

AITA for tricking my kids into eating mushroom soup?
My children are not allergic to mushrooms. My children love cream of mushroom soup. My kids hate the texture of mushrooms. When my wife uses canned mushroom soup in a recipe she will strain out the mushrooms for the kids. However when I use mushroom soup in a recipe I run it through the blender. The pieces are so little that they have no texture. The kids don't complain about it and I don't waste time. My wife seems to think that I'm being an asshole because I'm trucking them into eating something they have been very clear about not liking. I asked if she would rather eat a fistful of raw flour or a slice of bread. Preparation makes a difference. I think we are both trying to make sure that the kids eat a good meal we just go about it different ways. submitted by /u/Big-Improvement-8029 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

Looking for mushroom soup recipes that aren't creamy.
I've been making large batches of soups to portion and freeze for quick and relatively healthy work lunches. I'ld like to add something mushroom based because I looooove mushrooms. As much as I love cream of mushroom, I would prefer something a little healthier for lunches. Any ideas or recipes for no cream mushroom soups? I've seen a Hungarian paprika mushroom soup that only calls for a bit of sour cream, might try that. Was also thinking of something stew like or maybe a red wine/beef stock situation with barley, mushrooms, and some veg. Most of my soups are bright or lemony, so adding some variety with a deeper flavor profile would be nice! Edit: Thank you all so much!! Got some really good ideas cooking in the comments. Now I have a new problem.....which one to try first! submitted by /u/ThreeLeggedMutt to r/Cooking [link] [comments]
