Sunny’s 2 year birthday 🎂 ☀️
Sunny’s birthday schedule today lol: Started our day with Sunny running his zoomies out and sniffed to his hearts content at his fav sniff spot. Was rated 10/10 by him lol. Later he awaits eagerly for a homemade breakfast by his personal chef aka me (he usually gets kibble and probiotics but this was a special occasion). (Disclaimer: Don’t worry I was holding him outside of the picture for his safety in the seat) After his healthy meal he recieved a gourmet all natural dog treat. (As you can see he chose the hot dog variety. Excellent selection lol) Then some lounging and airing out of the bits haha followed by a nap on his personal couch… which was later stolen by his brother mango (The audacity! He was VERY upset and demanded to speak to the manager 🤣). We ended his festivities with a good mile evening walk and fetch in the yard. (Not pictured). I cannot believe how lucky I am to have this menace in my life. I love you lil man with all my heart 🥹☀️💕. Thank you to this community for letting me share our fun adventures here. See you all next time! 🙌 submitted by /u/Welp_thatwilldo to r/Pomeranians [link] [comments]

What are some natural methods to strengthen your dog’s immune system?
I’ve been really focused on finding natural ways to keep my dog’s immune system strong, and I’ve learned that small, consistent habits make a big difference. For me, it starts with nutrition I make sure my dog eats a balanced, high-quality diet with whole ingredients, sometimes adding dog-safe fruits and vegetables for extra vitamins. I’ve also tried incorporating natural supplements like fish oil for omega-3s and probiotics to support gut health, which I’ve noticed helps with overall energy and digestion. Regular exercise and enough outdoor time have also been key, not just for physical health but for reducing stress. I’ve found that having the right tools can really support this too the Halo Collar, for example, has been helpful with its GPS-powered boundaries and gentle feedback, so my dog can safely explore outdoors while getting more exercise, fresh air, and mental stimulation. Another thing I’ve paid attention to is minimizing exposure to unnecessary chemicals, like switching to gentler grooming products and being mindful of what my dog comes into contact with at home. Keeping up with routine vet visits while still focusing on natural support gives me peace of mind. I’ve also found that making sure my dog gets enough rest and maintaining a consistent daily routine really helps keep their immune system resilient. Overall, it’s about creating a balanced, enriched environment where my dog can truly thrive, rather than relying on just one solution. https://www.halocollar.com/blog/dog-health/boost-dog-immune-system/?utm_campaign=TurboRank&utm_medium=MenuBar&utm_source=RedditTR submitted by /u/Mary__Stephen to r/halocollarofficial [link] [comments]

Advice from someone in Microbiology
Hi! My previous post showing my before and after got a lot of traction, and I received a lot of DM’s asking for more info about what I had to say about maintaining a healthy gut microbiome, so I thought I’d drop a bit more info here so it might reach a larger audience! I’ll explain as much as I can, so bear with the long post. (I’ll also provide some sources in the comments😊) I always like to start with my favorite fun fact: you have more bacteria in your body than you do human cells! They influence *so* much about one’s physical as well as mental well-being. I’ll take a second to explain and end this ramble with what to do with this information, lol. Studies have shown that obesity can have a lot more to do with your gut microbiome than previously thought! Recent studies in mice have indicated that bacteria in obese individuals may absorb the maximum amount of calories possible, while the bacteria in lean individuals tend to “pass” on the same calories. (Especially with lipids). A study done with a pair of twins have shown similar results. Ways that the gut microbiome can influence weight and mental health: Certain foods and bacteria can stimulate the Vagus nerve, which is the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. This can help regulate digestion, immune response, stress, anxiety, and satiety. When bacteria in the colon ferment dietary fiber, they produce short chain fatty acids (SCFA). These fatty acids are known for preventing obesity, diabetes, cancer, inflammation, and much more. Butyrate, in particular, improves gut motility and the blood-brain barrier. This can prevent leaky gut as well as reduce brain fog! GLP-1 is actually a hormone that can be produced naturally! It is famous for promoting satiety and stable blood sugar. GLP-1 is stimulated by SCFAs, especially Butyrate! There are certain bacteria that are linked to lower hunger, faster metabolisms, and lower BMI's (Christensenella minuta, Akkermansia muciniphila, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Lactobacillus gasseri and plantarum) Multiple studies have shown that certain microbes can also influence athletic capacity as well as skeletal muscle maintenance. Gut microbiota have been shown to have a positive effect on serotonin, dopamine, GABA, and glutamate. So… What should you do with this information? Increase both pro and prebiotics in your food! Good prebiotic foods: Oats, flaxseeds, lentils, beans, dark chocolate, apples, figs, onions, garlic, wheat bread, barley, seaweed, etc. Good probiotic foods: yogurt, kimchi, kombucha, sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, etc. Fiber!!! Fiber is the primary source of food for bacteria in the gut! While it’s important to have a healthy intake of probiotics, it’s also crucial to feed the little monsters! Try to have a healthy balance of both soluble and insoluble fiber: Insoluble (bulk forming) fiber: Wheat, brown rice, quinoa, barley, popcorn, leafy greens, green beans, apples, berries, avocados, flaxseed, chia, etc. Soluble (gel forming) fiber: Oats, barley, beans, peas, soy, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, avocados, etc Final note: Meats such as turkey, fatty fish, and chicken can be wonderful additions to promote a healthy gut microbiome. However, eating processed meats (such as hot dogs, sandwich meats, etc.), as well as a high consumption of red meats, has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease due to the metabolites that are produced by the bacteria that favor these foods. This entire ramble comes solely from the perspective of someone looking at the gut microbiome, not your personal goals. If you can’t bear to part with red meat, that’s fine! I’m not telling you what to do, just giving gentle advice as someone whose main concern is a healthy gut! submitted by /u/Lychee-_-Lover to r/PetiteFitness [link] [comments]

8 Foods That May Help Freshen Dog Breath Naturally
Let's be honest - sometimes dog breath is... not great. While some level of dog breath is normal, persistently bad breath can put a damper on those close cuddle sessions. Before reaching for products, consider that some foods may naturally help support fresher breath. Foods that may help: Carrots: Crunchy texture may help clean teeth while chewing Apples: Natural fiber and crunch (remove seeds and core) Parsley: A traditional breath freshener (in small amounts) Coconut oil: May have antimicrobial properties Plain yogurt: Probiotics may support oral bacteria balance Mint: Small amounts only - some mint is safe, but not all varieties Cucumbers: Hydrating and crunchy Celery: Another crunchy option that may help with mechanical cleaning Remember, persistent bad breath can sometimes indicate dental issues or other concerns worth checking with your vet. These foods are supplements to good dental care, not replacements. For more tips: 8 Foods That Freshen Dog Breath Naturally submitted by /u/PetLabCoExpert to r/PetLabCo [link] [comments]

Natural probiotic alternatives to Canine Dophilus
Has anyone found natural probiotic alternatives to Canine Dophilus? My dog recently had gastroenteritis/ melena, but blood work and stool tests were normal. Since stool tests don't detect everything, I'd like to help detox her system from the prescribed meds (Flagyl, Pro-Pectalin anti-diarrhea, Zofran) if possible. submitted by /u/Penalty_Careful to r/DogAdvice [link] [comments]

FYI — Cowboy Up Dog Food Toppers (Natural Wellness Booster for Dogs)
Hey r/CranberryPetHealth 👋 — I’ve been seeing a lot of interest around natural, functional food addons for pets (especially things like cranberry & omega support) so I wanted to share a product we’ve been discussing that fits into that nutritional support category: Cowboy Up Dog Food Toppers — an all-natural daily meal topper designed to enhance regular meals with extra nutrients: ✔️ Key Reported Benefits • Immune & muscle support — contains key nutrients to support a stronger immune system and lean muscle maintenance. • Anti-inflammatory support — rich in omega fatty acids that may help with joint comfort and inflammation. • Digestive support — claims to help with regular digestion and nutrient absorption. • Skin & coat health — omegas 3, 6 & 9 are included to help nourish skin and shine coats. • Heart & cognitive support — balanced omegas can benefit more than just coat, including internal wellness. (For transparency: these benefits are based on the product description — as with any supplement, individual results vary and vet guidance is ideal.) ⸻ 🐶 Why Toppers Like This Matter in Pet Nutrition Top-dressers like this have become popular because they can: • Improve palatability and add nutrient density without replacing a main diet. • Support inflammation reduction and healthy skin/coat via omega-fatty acids (a common topic here). • Help with digestion and nutrient absorption when quality ingredients are used. Especially in subs focused on functional pet health, these are often discussed alongside probiotics, cranberry extract (for urinary support), and omega supplements — though your mileage may vary. Many Redditors emphasize checking ingredient quality and avoiding vague fillers — which is something we see continually here: “ingredients matter.” ⸻ 🧠 Discussion Points Since we’re passionate about evidence and sharing real user experiences: 🔹 Does anyone use omega-rich toppers regularly? What changes have you noticed in coat, mobility, or digestion? 🔹 How do you balance cranberries/urinary support supplements with other holistic nutrition boosters like these? 🔹 Any concerns vet-wise about daily toppers with multiple functional claims? ⸻ 🛑 Reminder This isn’t medical advice — always check with your vet, especially if your dog has health conditions, dietary restrictions, or is on medication. submitted by /u/naturalranchproducts to r/CranberryPetHealth [link] [comments]

Does Pawfy Probiotic Chews for Dogs Truly Improve Gut Health Review
The Pawfy Probiotic Probiotic caught my attention while I was searching for a natural solution for my dog's digestive issues and occasional skin problems. This product promised a lot: from promoting gut health to helping with seasonal allergies, and I was curious to see if it lived up to the hype. Over the past few weeks, I put these probiotic chews to the test with my dog, a Golden Retriever who, quite frankly, can be a bit of a picky eater when it comes to supplements. Between the packaging, ease of use, and overall results, there was both good and not-so-good to share. Let’s dive into the details. Packaging and Design Right out of the box, the Pawfy Probiotic Chews came in a compact and well-designed container that didn’t take up much storage space. At just 3.99 ounces, the container feels light and portable. The label clearly lists the active ingredients like Organic Black Pepper, Yucca Schidigera Extract, and Organic Turmeric, which immediately added some credibility. I appreciated the clarity of the dosage guidelines, which conveniently broke down how much to give based on your pet's weight. For my dog, who weighs about 55 lbs., the recommendation was to give between 1 to 2 chews daily. This ease of understanding made the product feel approachable, even for someone new to pet supplements. Flavor and Palatability Getting my dog to consume these was surprisingly easy. The chews come in a vegetarian chicken flavor, which even my usually skeptical pup seemed to enjoy. No hesitation, no sniff-and-reject routine — he just gobbled them right up. The formulation as soft and chewable treats eliminates the hassle of mixing powders into food or trying to hide pills in peanut butter. These chews turned what’s usually a struggle into an effortless daily routine. Check [Pawfy Probiotic Probiotic] price on Amazon. Digestive Health Benefits After just a few days of consistent use, I started noticing some changes. My dog's digestion, which had been somewhat inconsistent, seemed more regular. The probiotics’ blend of five carefully selected strains of healthy bacteria seems to work as advertised, balancing gut health and maintaining digestive comfort. The biggest win was fewer instances of diarrhea, which clearly made my furry friend more comfortable. There’s also a prebiotic component to the formula, designed to aid in nutrient absorption. While it’s tricky to say exactly how much additional nutrient support my dog was getting, his energy levels shot up slightly, which left a positive impression on me. Skin and Coat Health Aside from digestive comfort, one of the top features advertised by the product is its potential to calm skin issues related to allergies. My dog isn't excessively prone to allergies but does get occasional itchiness, especially during seasonal changes. After about two weeks of use, I noticed a subtle but welcome improvement. There was less scratching and his coat seemed to have an added sheen that wasn’t there before. These probiotics appear to be helping manage mild allergy-related itchiness effectively. Is it a magical cure for serious skin problems? Probably not, but it supports improved skin health and overall comfort quite competently. Positives - Chewable and palatable, suitable even for picky dogs. - Targets both digestive and skin health. - Includes active ingredients like turmeric for added benefits. - Clear dosage guidelines for stress-free use. Limitations - Some dogs might require results over a prolonged period before visible benefits appear. - Container size could be larger for multi-pet households. - Higher expectations for probiotic impact might leave some underwhelmed. Competing Brands When comparing Pawfy Probiotics to similar products like Zesty Paws Probiotic Bites or Purina FortiFlora, there are a few key distinctions worth noting. Zesty Paws offers similar chewable probiotics that focus on gut health but often come at a slightly higher price point for comparable servings. Purina FortiFlora, on the other hand, leans heavily on scientific formulations aimed at specific health conditions but is delivered in powder form, which can feel like extra work for pet parents. Pawfy stands out by balancing affordability, ease of use, and multi-targeted benefits — a pretty fair trade-off in my opinion. However, those seeking more aggressive therapeutic results might still lean toward competitors with specialized probiotic strains. Value Proposition Given its features, Pawfy Probiotic Dog Chews deliver solid value without veering into exorbitant pricing territory. Compared to pricier alternatives that offer similar ingredient profiles, it’s a wallet-friendly option for daily supplementation, especially for mid-sized and large dogs. It’s hard not to appreciate a product that achieves gut, skin, and systemic health targets at this price range while being palatable to pets. Ready to buy Pawfy Probiotic Probiotic? What is this sore on my dog’s mouth, any suggestions for natural home remedies to treat?
He’s 2 years old and has had a couple ear infections and some tiny patches of missing hair, but never had this mouth sore until now. Along with ear infections, his paws are scabby/crusty and his face has some alopecia and crustiness in the deep wrinkles on his face. I’ve never had such a high maintenance/prone to infections and health issues dog before. Trying to maintain his health with home remedies and habits as best as possible. I have him on a daily probiotic (Just Thrive), his food is Diamond Naturals brand until I can transition him to a raw food diet (would love any advice on what raw foods to feed him/ratios for his weight of 55lbs), and give him a bath every week and a half or so with hypoallergenic soap which helps tremendously! Also use microfiber clothes every couple nights to wipe his folds with hypoallergenic soap which helps them. What do I use to wash/treat his red inflamed/slightly pus filled feet and that sore on his mouth? Any advice welcome! 🙏 submitted by /u/Flat-Armadillo-6672 to r/AmericanBully [link] [comments]

How well do you know your dog probiotics??? Might be controversial
Hi fellow dog parents! Just wanted to share something I recently learned that really made me rethink the probiotics I give my dog. Nag-try ako ng probiotics for our dog before when he had some problem sa digestion. I really don't check the label so I thought na baka ok lang. Then I came across a study by Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine na sabi daw na dogs actually need 1 to 10 billion CFUs per day for probiotics para maging effective. Turns out, most of the products sold online don’t even come close to that. May iba na only contain 500 million CFUs, and worse, some don’t list any CFU count at all - just vague "active ingredients." Medyo nakakagulat, ‘no? Also, CFUs daw naturally decrease over time, especially if the product isn't properly sealed. It's possible daw na it will affect the potency. Ngayon, I am trying to check probitics for dogs with considerations in mind. The CFU count (should be 1–10 billion per serving) If the strains are listed specifically (like Lactobacillus rhamnosus, not just “probiotic blend”) Chine-check ko din ang storage instructions and expiry date. I feel like this isn’t talked about enough in the pet community. Sayang din kasi if we’re giving our dogs something that isn’t really helping. Anyone else looked into this? Have you found any brands that are transparent with their labels and actually meet the right standards? Let’s help each other out. submitted by /u/mushishicoco to r/DogsPH [link] [comments]
