Most GORGEOUS Ref dress at Nordstrom Rack
I found the most gorgeous Ref dress on sale at Nordstrom Rack this weekend. I didnt get it (dress lacked structure, and I dont have the curves to make it sit the way I want), but I had to take pictures bc omg š I dont know the name of the dress so if anyone wants to help me out feel free!! I still cant believe the price š Edit: you all are too kind. No, I didnt get the dress, but I'm starting to wish I did after reading so many nice comments šš©· It was honestly really thin, and I wish it were linen and not viscose, but it was so pretty. Today I learned my wardrobe needs way more red! submitted by /u/Owlenstar to r/Reformationclothing [link] [comments]

Nordstrom Rack Haul
Check out your local Nordstrom Rack, they are have a mini fragrances. It seems to be for this season only and are final sales. I shoyld have taken a picture of what the tack looked like but they have lots of designer ones like gucci, versace, victor&rolf from what I can remember. These are the ones I landed on. I am so happy about the Atelier Cologne one as Iāve been researching this and itās not for sale in the US or online. Other ines I got are Versace pour femme, Le Monde Gourmand set of 10 and CK Everyone. These are perfect portions for me ha! I found that I either get tired of a scent easy or get annoyed at the bottle taking forever to empty ;) submitted by /u/enneyehs to r/FemFragLab [link] [comments]

Opinions on HermƩs H24?
This is such an interesting fragrance. Iāve heard that itās pretty controversial and itās an either love it or hate it situation. Itās not one that I see much in storesāthe first time I saw it was at a Nordstrom Rack. I donāt plan on getting it but Iād love to hear opinions about it. There are characteristics to it I really like and some that I really donāt. Right off the bat, the opening just gives me the sense of an unripe banana. I suspect it might be the combination of the yellow florals with the green tones of the fragrance, but it does not go away, even on the dry down. Itās a puzzling smell, itās not one I love, nor one I hate, and even then I found myself sniffing my wrist a lot. The dry down does get more green but it has this interesting, sharp metallic tang to it, but not necessarily in a synthetic way. However, I feel itās not as green as others say it is because of that banana smell. It does not escape my skin, and Iām so challenged by it. It is slightly woody but I do not get much hints of it. HermĆ©s clearly had a lot to work with for this menās marketed fragrance given how timeless and classic Terre DāHermĆ©s is. I donāt think H24 lives up to that historic run at all, but itās definitely a very unique fragrance for a designer. Iāve just never felt this puzzled and confused with a cologne before. What do you guys thinj of H24? submitted by /u/CrasheeXYZ to r/fragrance [link] [comments]

Review of a Cheapie: St. Kitts for Men by Tommy Bahama
Tommy Bahama fragrances can be found easily at stores like Nordstrom Rack and Marshallās for dirt cheap. Today, I purchased St. Kitts for men. It comes in a 100mL bottle with an Eau de Cologne concentration at $20. Off the bat, the value for how much juice youāre getting is crazy. They are very affordable cheapies. What may turn people off the most is the EdC concentration, but Iāll talk about that later. So, howās the smell? Itās really, really good. St. Kitts uses a note that we donāt see often in fragrances: carambola, AKA starfruit. It is such a fresh, sweet yet slightly sour smell. Heavy emphasis on the word fresh, it almost smells like the fruit was recently washed and still has droplets of water running down. Iāve never tried carambola so itās difficult to describe its taste and smell, but to me it kind of resembles a mango, but with more sourness. The citrus from the mandarin orange in the opening increases the sourness of the opening too, but it quickly settles to a fruity mango-like scent, soft and pleasant. In the dry down, the fragrance shines on its more aquatic side. A touch of sea salt is sprinkled with a mixture of musk and aquatic notes. Aquatic fragrances tend to smell like rotten eggs on me, but surprisingly this one doesnāt! It dries down smoothly to a watery, cedar wood base, but the carambola remains prominent. St. Kitts is a really appropriate name for the fragrance, itās perfect for a beach day where you want a tropical-smelling, sweet, citrusy and aquatic fragrance. The bad side to a lot of TB fragrances are that they donāt last, partly because of the notes they use and because itās an Eau de Cologne concentration. Whatās important to note is that these fragrances are made for high heat for better performance. Today, unfortunately, it was cold, cloudy and windy. Even then, I sprayed it on my wrist and 3 hours in, I could still smell it, although by the 1st hour it becomes more of a skin scent. I expect this fragrance to last about 4 to 4-and-a-half hours in hot days, which is pretty decent given how great it smells. This is one you can carry a travel spray for anytime you go out. I definitely see myself using this for school, work, short errands, or perhaps the beach if i do go to one this summer. It doesnāt project much either to be honest. But what this means is that you can spray the hell out of this one and people wonāt notice it too much. I did 10 sprays of it and my mom said itās an appropriate amount. It doesnāt project too loudly and sticks close to skin for the most part. Iām very happy with my purchase and I highly suggest to try it out. You might be surprised how great this cheapie smells. Edit: I also wanted to mention that I really like the presentation of TBās fragrances. They really stick through to the theme the brand embodies. St. Kittās bottle is pretty elegant (although inconvenient to use). It could easily serve as decoration after it runs out. submitted by /u/CrasheeXYZ to r/fragrance [link] [comments]

ELI5, when do I know it's a clone?
Ok, hear me out. I'm a total noob here. I have been a fan of fragrances all my adult and late teenage life and I'm mid 40's now. But up until like 2 years ago Facebook started sending me ads and knew I'd nibble. It's how I discovered there are colognes out there I never heard of, but it's because to me, I was a very commercial brand man, like Calvin Klein, Curve, Tommy Hillfiger, you get it, and rarely at my age make it to high end department stores. The closet I get is Nordstrom rack. An ad came up for Alt fragrances and they focused mostly on their Creed Aventus. Shame on me, I never heard of it so I looked it up and figured, it's hyped, it's expensive, it's all I need to know that it must be the bomb! So I bought a 5 pack of Alt fragrances. I honestly have no idea where they rank on the clone scale, but they are cheap enough and perform enough for the cost, so I have probably 7 different ones from sample size, to largest bottles and mid size bottles. But since then, all I see everywhere is clone this, fragrance that, then I follow this and other subs and I'm still confused. Since I was so gullible for years not knowing what Creed was, I still have no idea when I see a Amazon, Facebook, or Instagram ad if it's a unique fragrance of a lesser known company, not a clone, or is a lesser known company cloning a high end designer fragrance of something that is in the Creed several $100's per bottle range? Help me understand my brother's and sisters! submitted by /u/FreeThinker76 to r/fragranceclones [link] [comments]

I Spent $7000 to Find the Best Suit for Men for the Money
I have now experienced suits from across the price spectrum so figured a post would be worth my time so you guys can avoid the same mistakes I've made and save some money. Video: All the info is on this post but this is one of my best videos to date. The SuitSupply portion takes you through the process of speccing out a custom suit and I think it's worth the watch. ā Hugo Boss ($500 on sale): After wearing suits from Burlington my entire life, I bought my first nice suit from Nordstrom in 2014. The sales associate pointed me towards Hugo - a trendy, entry level line to the Hugo Boss family. It cost me about $500 and I thought I walked out with a super high quality, name brand suit that would last me ages to come. It wasn't until a few years later when I really looked into the ins and outs of suiting that I realized I had paid for the name on the tag rather than the actual construction of the suit. I learned that there were three primary types of structured suits: fused, half-canvased, and full canvassed. The Boss one I had purchased was a fused suit which meant the inside (typically synthetic) fabric giving it structure and the outer wool was just glued together. This is the most restrictive type of construction because as you move and stretch, the fabric inevitably starts to lift from the glue causing weird bubbles and ripple throughout the jacket. Majority of the suits you see in department stores sub $1000 will be fused since theyāre not only easier to produce at scale but much much cheaper. A fused suit will have a cardboard, boxy like feel that doesnāt drape your body naturally since the fusing is pretty rigid. Youāll notice this especially around the chest and upper back anytime your arms are in motion. The jacket seems to move as a single unit rather than flexing as needed. Heat also becomes an issue as the fusing allows little to no breathability. Details wise, the news does not get much better. You wonāt see functional buttons, detail stitching, or a button hole on the lapel. The overly narrow notch lapels prevent it from being a timeless option. While the 100% wool and the fact I had it tailored made it look presentable and wearable, the feel of the wool and the final fit werenāt anything to write home about. Itās served well over the years but itās time to retire this soon as the styling isnāt as timeless with the brighter blue shade and overly narrow lapels. If you slapped a Zara logo on the tag and compared it side by side to one from Zara, I doubt youād be able to tell a difference based off the construction and styling. Suit Supply ($500-$2000): Letās move on to Suit Supply. These guys are the go to recommendation for a suit when anyone asks online or on Reddit so I was excited to try my first suit from them. I wanted to go in and try to create a suit as close to my Tom Ford one as I could to see if they could compete so mine came out to $1500. They start at about $500 off the rack and $700 made-to-measure but can go up to around $2000 for a Super150 fabric made to measure three piece suit with all the boxes ticked. The suits across the spectrum are built with the same level of quality and detail the only difference being the fabric, and whether it's half canvassed or fully canvassed. With made-to-measure there were three steps: Select your fabric, select your construction/finishings, then get fitted. I went for a wool/silk blend cream colored fabric (for a summer family wedding), with wide peak lapels, and full canvassing. I opted for a waistcoat and got slightly higher rise pants with the side adjusters to get it as close to the TF one as possible. It was super cool being able to pick out every little aspect of the suit from the inner lining to the buttons to the personalization. I walked through this a bunch more in the video. With SuitSupply and especially made-to-measure there, the sales associate you work with will definitely make the biggest difference in the suit. I've had friends and families with bad experiences with the fit because the sales associate didn't know too much about measurements or the types of alterations that are possible once the garment gets in. Thankfully Suit Supply customer service is top notch and they'll take it back for a full refund but definitely try to find the most knowledgable sales associate there. I worked with Aivy at the Houston store and have zero negative things to say. She was super helpful and really knew her stuff! The suit itself is made really well, especially for the price point. You get a lot of the details you see with much higher end designers such as the ticket pocket, Milanese button hole, rolling lapel, and the functional button holes. You also have limitless options in terms of colors and fabrics compared to a lot of other suiting brands and they definitely outshine other brands like Indochino and such. Overall I was really impressed. Suitsupply does a great job at making a suit look a lot more expensive than it is. I really recommend watching this portion of the video as it takes you through the entire process and the small nuggets of info Aivy gives throughout are really helpful. TOM FORD: I bought in 2017 for a close family wedding and Iāve worn it nonstop since then. It is the Windsor cut but weāll get more into the cuts later. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience. I worked with the same sales associate the entire time making it super easy to text him back and forth for advice and updates. The stock in store is completely different from their stock online and has a lot more options than whats listed on the website. It was my first time buying something of this caliber so the novelty factor probably helped but the service was unmatched. For example, I needed a tie and didnāt want to buy it from TF as theyāre quite pricey but the guy helping me bagged it up and walked the suit to a shop across the mall and helped me pick out a tie from a completely different store. I think the sticker on this was $3800 at the time which was their āentry levelā option. The only difference in the more expensive models being a higher quality fabric or the addition of a waistcoat. The fabric on the entry level pieces are exceptional so I donāt find the need to splurge in this aspect but a three-piece from Tom Ford is definitely on my fashion bucket list. It took a total of 4 fittings to get this tailored perfectly. While other brands Iāve owned give you one fitting and reluctantly agree for a second if you ask for further changes, TF hires some of the best tailors in the game who understand that as you make one large change, smaller changes might come up that need to be tweaked. They seek out area that could be better without you having to even tell them and tailor even the most minute details. The cherry on top was the final fitting where everything was perfect except for the rear vent sticking out slightly due to my build. They attached a tiny band of silk connecting one end to the other that fixed the problem right away and looked like it had come that way from the get go. No creases or pulls in sight. Granted, you could also do this to a cheaper suit and an outsourced local tailor but this is the only time Iāve experienced this level of detail for tailoring in a store. As I was walking out, suit in hand, the store manager who we got to know really well throughout the process stopped us and handed us a small TF bag and a note that said āCongrats on your first TF suitā. Inside was a 50ml bottle of cologne from their private collection which was an unexpected but super nice touch. Even the customized name plate on the garment bag makes the experience feel special. Starting with the fabric, all of Tom Ford fabrics are made exclusively for them by Zegna Couture, the highest end of the Zegna range. Even though mine is entry level, its still 100% wool and is made of one of the "butteriest" fabrics Ive handled. The fit and construction go hand in hand with Tom Ford suits. This is the Windsor or Fit A which is the classic look you think of when you think TF. As expected, this is a fully canvased suit but itās the details that really make it stand out. The 4-5 inch lapels and the addition of the ticket pocket on the right side are the easiest signs when determining if a suit if from TF or not but itās the subtle details that make the suit. The milanese buttonhole, rolling lapel, the lack of felt under the collar, the barchetta pocket, and the functional button holes all take significantly more time to produce but are tell tell signs of a quality suit with attention paid to the details. As cool as these details are, majority of them can be specced with Suit Supply and are not exclusive to TF. You can get a suit from Savile Row or plenty of other brands with the same or better construction and detailing. So what makes a TF suit a TF suit? In my opinion itās how the suit fits and hangs on your body. The traditional TF fit is less a suit you wear but more a suit that wears you in the best way possible. While other suits fit like a glove, Iāve seen this described more so as armor. You almost step into it and it molds you to give you that athletic, broad shoulders, tight waist look even though your body might not be like that underneath. While you might think this fit is exclusive for those with an athletic body type to begin with, the tailors that work at TF might as well be plastic surgeons for how they can make it look like you got a nip and tuck when putting on a tailored TF suit. Sure this fit may not work with every body type but majority do from what Iāve seen with my friends. The high rise pants and the low button set all play into this look. As hard as I tried to get the Suit Supply suit to replicate it, I think we fell short in more ways than one. Itās truly a one of a kind suit that just feels different when you slip it on and gives you a level of confidence when wearing it that I havenāt had with any other suiting brand. This suit is insane and itās honestly one of my favorite things in my closet. I donāt think thereās a single thing bad about it except itās stupid high price point. TLDR/Final Thoughts: If I was a billionaire, theres no doubt in my mind every suit in my wardrobe would be from TF, however, Suit Supply can take you 90% of the way there at less than half the price. Granted your results are fully dependent on the sales associate you're working with and the knowledge they have on how to measure/tailor your jackets to give you your optimum look. In in the meantime however, Iāll be getting my suits from Suit Supply. Itās a no brainer if youāre in the $500-1000 budget. Youāre getting stellar construction, a great selection of fabrics, and great options for customizing at a unbeatable price. Avoid the fused designer stuff like the plague though lol If you are really into fashion and wear suits a lot, splurging on Tom Ford for your basic, most worn colors, isn't the worst idea. Your navy and charcoal can be from TF and the remainder you can totally get away with being from Suit Supply. A future video Iād like to make is taking a bone stock Suit Supply suit and having a skilled local tailor work their magic. I wonder if this could get us closer to the TF fit at still half the price while taking the wildcard factor out. Thanks for taking the time to read/watch. My hopefully-complete collection
https://imgur.com/a/pQkq6qH Hello fellow fragrant folk! Finally feel like my collection is complete enough to share. By "complete" I mean there are no bottles burning a hole in my brain to acquire them, and I feel like what I do have covers every possible mood I'd ever find myself in. Generally I like approachable and crowd-pleasing profiles and lean toward sweeter (though I don't like things that are so sugary they become cloying). Favorite notes include tobacco, vanilla, spice, lavender, jasmine, iris, coconut, and apple. Notes I most dislike would be oud, anything animalic, and rose, to which I am incredibly sensitive (my mom, funny enough, provided a possible clue to this recently when she told me that my grandmother used to soak herself in some rose-y Avon perfume when I was a baby and I'd burst into screaming cries every time she held me). The display stand is a custom built piece from a woodworker friend, in solid cherry. I've put my personal x out of 10 rating on each in the list, and added some other thoughts below that. Yes, my ratings are high - I sample ferociously and only buy what I know I enjoy. ā Bottom row, left to right Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau EDT (8.5/10) JPG Le Male EDT (8/10) Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Extreme (8.5/10) Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Infrared (7.5/10) BDK Parfums Gris Charnel (9.5/10) Mercedes-Benz Club Black (9/10) Byredo Bal d'Afrique (8/10) ā Second row up, left to right Diptyque Tam Dao EDP (9/10) Armani Acqua di Gio Profondo (8.5/10) Masque Milano Terralba (8/10) Tom Ford Costa Azzurra (9/10 smell, 1/10 performance) Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir (9/10) Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDT (8/10) Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP (8.5/10) ā Middle row, left to right Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss (8.5/10) Chanel Bleu de Chanel EDP (8/10) Chanel Bleu de Chanel EDT (8.5/10) Nishane Wulong Cha (9/10) Yyves Saint Laurent L'Homme EDT (8/10) YSL La Nuit de L'Homme (7.5/10) Givenchy Gentleman Reserve PrivĆ©e (10/10) Dior Homme Intense (8.5/10) ā Fourth row up, left to right Roja Parfums Oceania (9.5/10) Roja Parfums Elysium Parfum Cologne (9/10) Roja Parfums Isola Blu (8/10) Roja Parfums Manhattan (10/10) Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special (10/10) Xerjoff Torino21 (9.5/10) Xerjoff 40 Knots (9/10) Xerjoff Naxos (9.5/10) Xerjoff/Casamorati Lira (8.5/10) ā Top row, left to right Amouage Beach Hut Man (9.5/10) Amouage Jubilation XXV (9/10) Amouage Reflection Man (10/10) Amouage Boundless (9/10) Amouage Journey Man (8/10) Parfums de Marly Sedley (8/10) PDM Greenley (8.5/10) PDM Pegasus (7.5/10) PDM Layton (9/10) PDM Oajan (9/10) PDM Herod (9.5/10) PDM Carlisle (9/10) ā My top 10 (starting at the top left of the picture and working down) Beach Hut Man: I love this and I like it more every time I wear it. Minty patchouli: smells a bit like old school shaving foam but so much richer and deeper. Pushing the boundaries of how strong I prefer my fragrances to be (this is single-spray territory), but one of my faves. Reflection Man: maybe the closest thing in my collection to signature-scent territory, one of the very few I happily wear multiple days in a row without feeling like I'm neglecting the rest. Sure, that "luxury laundry" mix of florals and herbals may be a relatively common profile, but this is my favorite expression of the type. PDM Herod: rich, sweet but not cloying, and a relatively restrained amount of spice compared to some other PDMs (don't get me wrong, I obviously love some spice, I just appreciate that it plays a well-blended harmonious role here). Roja Oceania: borderline too-floral for my personal tastes, but stays just on the right side of it for me and then keeps me hooked. A heady "sea breeze through a tropical garden" that's so evocative and gorgeous. Roja Manhattan: I just can't get enough of this stuff. I describe it as "Herod got bitten by a radioactive bottle of Jazz Club". Spicy sweet boozy tobacco and whiskey and honey and cinnamon. So, so good. Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special: every time I wear this, it blows my mind anew. Rosey fruity caramel patchouli with just the faintest undercurrent of leather. Rich, potent, and oh so sexy. It's sinful and hedonistic and unlike anything else I've ever smelled. The one fragrance that, if I ever hear it's going out of production, I'll sell a kidney and buy a barrel's worth. Xerjoff Torino21: minty iced tea. Crisp, refreshing, gorgeous. I have less to say about this one because the profile is pretty straightforward compared to the rest, but what it does, it does (in my opinion) flawlessly. Perfection through quiet, simple mastery. Xerjoff Naxos: an indispensable staple. My other top 10s are all ones that call to me even when I'm not wearing them. For whatever reason, Naxos doesnt take up space in my brain between sprays. But then I put some on, and a little voice in my head whispers "why do we ever wear anything else?" It's so casually sophisticated: the supple deftness with which it hums along from that fresh and sparkly opening (the fizz of lavender, the bright citrus) down into the powdery-sweet honeyed tobacco base always impresses me. Givenchy Gentleman Reserve PrivĆ©e: my personal favorite iris-centered fragrance. That sumptuous, boozy chestnut layered over buttery iris is sensational. BDK Gris Charnel: my rainy-day-cozy fragrance. That creamy fig and tea combo is like the olfactory equivalent of a big chunky sweater to me. Beautiful, comforting, and lovely. Honorable mention: MB Club Black. This one just misses being in the top ten because I think the others have more character than this one does. But make no mistake, it's a ridiculously enjoyable vanilla - sweet but not cloying, a little sticky, a little smoky. And it's one of the vanishingly few bargains left in fragrance (although I can feel even this one being pressured lately). I think the bottle is tacky, but when it smells this good for ~$50, I'll live. ā The least-best (e.g. won't re-buy, might sell/swap) JPG Le Male: I'm actually very fond of it, but it has a knife in its back with Reflection's fingerprints all over it. Tom Ford Costa Azzurra: I am absolutely mesmerized by the opening here, all salt and mineral and sweet briny citrus. An hour later, I forgot I put anything on. This stuff just dies the second it leaves the bottle. Such a shame. Spicebomb Infrared: the fruitiness actually makes this one somewhat unique compared to my other spice bombs (and, er, Spicebomb) and I kinda enjoy the Big Red gum vibe, but the truth is this is only here because I plucked it out of a Nordstrom Rack on clearance. It's not bad, but it's not replacement worthy. Byredo Bal d'Afrique: I actually love the fragrance, but find I rarely reach for it because I'd almost always rather wear something else just a BIT more. Bleu de Chanel EDP: believe it or not, I prefer the EDT for being a little brighter and a little livelier. La Nuit de L'Homme: it's fine, but - like Bal - if I'm in the mood for something in this realm, Nuit never ends up being the one I reach for. PDM Pegasus: again, a nice fragrance, but something in here doesn't sing for me. Maybe it's that metallic edge, but as good as the almond vanilla is, I just don't quite adore this one. ā *edited to clean up the list formatting submitted by /u/IdleExpatter to r/fragrance [link] [comments]

Can you get great smelling cologne for less than $50?
Throughout my life, I've never really paid attention to cologne and I barely used it for any special occasion. I am now interested in getting some decent cologne but I don't want to break the bank. I went to my local Nordstrom Rack and saw they seem to have some fancy cologne for under $50. Is this a good buy? submitted by /u/Its__Garbox to r/fragrance [link] [comments]
