this past weekend i took on my first baggu upcycle project, which was taking a dusty lilac puffy water bottle sling and turning into a sunshine yellow! ☀️ despite some grey tones near the top, i'm SO HAPPY with how this came out!! about a month ago i asked if anyone had examples of a baggu item that had been treated with rit colour remover (before they dyed it), and now in case anyone is looking for those references, i have them here!! while the packaging said that it should take about 20 minutes to remove colour, i was at the stove for over an hour because the lilac was quite stubborn 😵‍💫 let it dry overnight, and then the next day i decided to do the bucket method instead of the stove (with hot water), and kept it dunked in the yellow soup for over an hour as well, since i was nervous about using only one dye container. but the waiting was so worth it!!! used it today for our college's commencement and was relieved to be hands-free and have my water so close by :3 last picture is a turmeric comparison for fun since she's my daily driver 🙂‍↕️💛 submitted by /u/nonbearnary to r/BAGGU [link] [comments]

Ok so I just got this and was reading so many reviews on this subreddit and did not understand the sip versus chug… Basically chug is how most water bottles work you have to tilt to back to get the water out. That’s the big hole. Sip is the smaller hole. You just suck in without moving the bottle. You can Stand it upright while doing this. I keep seeing people talk about the Owala Freesip bottle and I feel like I somehow missed the moment when it became the most popular water bottle on the internet. All I really know is that it seems very trendy, especially with women, and I am pretty sure TikTok had something to do with it. I remember seeing a video where people were literally lining up in a store just to get one. That kind of surprised me, and wanted to also jump on the bandwagon. For context I already own way too many bottles. I have a Hydro Flask 24 oz, an RTIC 64 oz, a big one gallon jug, and one of those Hydro Flask straw bottles. I also had a Zojirushi bottle for years but I ended up giving it to a coworker who kept drinking from plastic water bottles, which made me uncomfortable just watching, my problem, I know… Now I am thinking about replacing the Zojirushi with an Owala Freesip bottle, mostly because I am curious what people like about it. I even looked around Amazon and Alibaba just to see similar designs and it seems like a lot of bottles copied the same idea. I designed a simple TPU boot to keep my new owala water bottles dent free (and quieter when I set it down). After doing this, I thought why not make it a fully parametric model that can be customized for any size bottle. It seemed like a good use case so people don't have to hunt around for a design made for their specific bottle. I remembered that Makerworld added support for Fusion 360 to create Customizable models not to long ago so decided to give it a try. I have to say it’s pretty slick. I decided to support changing both the diameter and height (in case people want a taller sleeve version). I do wish there was more ability to define print settings for the 3mf file and use Bambu Handy but perhaps that will be added in the future if the feature takes off. I’m curious to hear other people’s experience with Customizable models on Makerworld. Any tips or suggestions for someone just starting to explore it? I feel like yall are gonna be the only ones who’ll understand why I’m crying about fucking water bottles rn. More than once, I’ve told him to just leave anything water-bottle-related alone, and requested he let me know if they’re in his way so I can hand wash them promptly. And just now I thought I had the bandwidth to empty a few of the clean dishes, you know, just put a few away really quickly between days in Stardew Valley so there are fewer later. I’ve been chores-ing all morning and was taking a little video game break but wanted to throw a few little tasks in to make things easier later. And there, in the steamy top rack, were my owala water bottle tops, along with dishes he’d used for tikka masala. The silicone gaskets and the lid and the grip on the mouthpiece all smell so strongly of dishwasher soap and Indian food. What started as a quick little way of making it an easier job later turned into me boiling water and finding baking soda and getting bowls and tongs out and googling how to get smells out of silicone. I tried boiling it and sitting it covered in baking soda in a bowl, and it still smells. So now they’re soaking in hot water with baking soda in it for longer to see if that helps. When I first found them I called down the stairs to him, “hey, please please don’t put my water bottle pieces through the dishwasher” and he called up “alright.” He came upstairs a little while later while I was stirring my caps around in a pot of boiling water. I was somewhat in shutdown and words and eye contact were gonna be really hard. He was like, “getting the smell out?” I nodded without looking up and he patted me on the back and walked off. Some time later when I’d left them to sit and come to the couch, he came over and apologized and said he didn’t know how to make it up to me. I told him I know he cares, but it feels like he doesn’t care when I have to ask him repeatedly to leave them out of the dishwasher, and then when he comes up and sees me laboring to fix his mistake he doesn’t offer to help or anything at all. It’s not until I’ve moved on after cleaning it up as best as I can that he comes and says “idk how to make it up to you,” at which point it seems like it’s more about wanting me to relieve him of his guilt than about him wanting to make it right. He’s all sulky and being crabby to the kids now, who don’t deserve it, and just. I STRUGGLE SO HARD TO STAY HYDRATED AND MY WATER BOTTLES ARE SO IMPORTANT TO ME AND I KNOW HE WOULD REMEMBER IF IT WERE ABOUT HIS PREFERENCES. I’ve been looking into getting a better water bottle lately and, honestly, the more I look, the more overwhelmed I get. There are so many options out there, and everyone seems to have a different favorite. What I’m looking for is something durable, leak-proof, and easy to clean. I just lost my hydro flask wide mouth water bottle. Thus I’m am I need of a new one. Was looking at owala as they have the best of both worlds. Post about getting dehydrated in extreme heat made me wonder what water bottle you all love? I work for a school district, and after seeing 90% of my colleagues at a conference, including my friends, using an Owala water bottle I finally gave in and got one. I thought they were just trendy like the Stanley, but no! It's the best, the straw shape is so easy I drink from in a comfy shape, it stays so cold, which helps me want to drink out of it. It's also pretty. I'm drinking way more water than I was. I have the kids size, so it's not as heavy, but I ordered a 24 oz as well for my car during my long commute.
