Anyone else seeing tons of new Owlet Dream Socks being sold on Facebook Marketplace?
Has anyone else noticed a ton of brand new Owlet Dream Socks on Facebook Marketplace lately particularly in Colorado? I keep seeing listings that look almost identical — brand new, sealed boxes, and the sellers often have profiles that show they’ve sold 2–3 of them already. It feels a little… off. A few things that make me suspicious: 1) The listings are often way cheaper than retail 2) Many sellers have multiple “new” ones So I’m wondering what’s actually going on here: Are these counterfeit somehow? Did Owlet have a recall or regulatory issue recently? Are these maybe liquidation or return pallets being flipped on Marketplace? I know Owlet had FDA issues in the past where they had to stop selling the older Smart Sock. But from what I can tell, the Dream Sock is FDA-cleared and still sold normally, so I can’t figure out why there would suddenly be so many new ones floating around Marketplace. Has anyone else noticed this or bought one this way? Curious if this is legit or if it’s something sketchy. submitted by /u/SummitSnacksandCats to r/BabyBumps [link] [comments]

Owlet vs other smart socks?
I’m wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on paying the price for Owlet Smart sock vs settling for a cheaper option (Eufy/Sense-U)? We used a Nanit for our first and LOVED IT. However this time we are going to try the snoo bassinet and so the breathing band will not work with the motion of the bassinet. As a result our only option is one of these monitors. I don’t want to be told that they make anxiety worse.. because for me, the breathing wear LITERALLY saved my sleep as a mom with severe post partum anxiety! Thanks so much in advance ! :) submitted by /u/Emmzxvpp to r/newborns [link] [comments]

Convert Owlet Smart sock to Dream sock with Health notifications?
I have an old Owlet Smart Sock 3 and am in the US. I’ve never used it before, and so I have never downloaded the old Owlet Care app on my phone. Right now the Smart Sock 3 is not compatible with the Owlet Dream app (the app will not add it at all). To use the sock with the Dream app, it looks like I need to convert it to a “Dream sock” which does not show you O2 readings and does not send red alerts for low O2. O2 alarms is the only reason I want to use the sock at all, I don’t care about a sleep quality monitor. The conversion cannot be undone. ( https://support.owletcare.com/hc/en-us/articles/4421509101581-Dream-Sock-Conversion-USA-Canada-Only ) It looks like there is a separate process to convert US Dream socks to US Dream socks with health notifications, which would restore the O2 alarm function. ( https://support.owletcare.com/hc/en-us/articles/22580368484365-Dream-with-Health-Notifications-How-to-Access-FDA-cleared-Software-Experience-in-the-Owlet-Dream-App ) If I convert my smart sock 3 to a dream sock, can I then upgrade it to a dream sock with health notification?? or is that upgrade reserved for people who bought a US dream sock proper (vs converted the older model)? Since the conversion cannot be undone, I’m nervous to just “try it out” and instantly loose $200+ 😭 ETA: actually I’m not even sure I CAN convert the smart sock to a dream sock? The conversion instructions only work if the Dream app is connected with it. The base connects to the sock and to my WiFi, but the Dream app is unable to add the sock at all (nothing happens — it’s stuck on “welcome back…”). Very frustrating! This should be basic back compatibility, I understand this has been a thing since 2021 but we’re talking 5 years not the Middle Ages. UPDATE: So! After some fiddling about, I was able to add the sock to the Dream app. (If anyone has the same issue, what worked for me was: exit the endless “welcome back” screen, then skip the WiFi setup screen, then confirm that the WiFi light is on on the base). When that happens, the conversion process starts immediately and automatically, no ifs or buts. There was no other option than to let it do its thing. After that was done, I was able to enable Health notifications in the app, in the normal way. So, it seems like the info that’s on their website is a bit out of date, as only one conversion process was necessary and it was all automatic once the registration issue was solved. But the good news is, it seems like it’s working! TLDR: The answer is YES! submitted by /u/Prize-Sandwich391 to r/beyondthebump [link] [comments]

Preparing for life after ICU (owlet sock)
Our boy was born at 35 weeks at 9lb 9. Mum was diabetic hence the weight lol. Hes been through a lot the last few weeks, from low blood sugar to having to get surgery after day 2, hes had a rough couple of weeks. He has turned the corner and has been on the bottles the last 3 days and they have started to wean him off the oxygen so we are expecting him home soon. My question is if the owlet smart sock is worth getting? We are constantly checking his sp02 levels and feel like we may be able to settle at home if we purchase the sock. Has anyone tried these before? Are they accurate? Thanks submitted by /u/Resident-Top2966 to r/NICUParents [link] [comments]

Smart socks for newborns- Owlet vs Eufy (or any other brands you love)?
I’m preparing the last few things I need for my baby and as a first time mum I’d rather over prepare than under prepare. One of the things I’m seriously considering is a “smart sock” monitor (you know, the ones that track oxygen, heart rate, temperature, etc). In my research so far, two brands keep coming up: Owlet and Eufy. I’m big on “better safe than sorry”, so I’d love to hear your experiences with these devices (good or bad). Also, if there’s a brand you’d recommend over both of these, I want to hear about it. Here are some questions I have: -How often are false alarms? -Did the sock tend to slip off, lose contact or give unreliable readings if the baby moved around? -Did you feel more anxious checking the app or did it actually help you sleep? -Would you ever buy it again, or do you wish you didn’t? **** Also, I am aware many doctors say that while these devices can offer extra reassurance, they are not proven to prevent SIDS or serious health events for healthy infants. They’re more like a “bonus monitor,” not a substitute for safe sleep practices, regular checkups and parental intuition. submitted by /u/ButterflyRose143 to r/pregnant [link] [comments]

Owlet Sock Not Connecting to Wifi - Solution
If your sock isn't connecting to wifi through the owlet app or if the app is telling you your wifi password is incorrect constantly, try this link. It will walk you through how to manually connect your sock and base station to your wifi network through a browser. Ours was brand new, literally straight out of the box and wouldn't connect through the app. Not a confident start for this very expensive product. Not thrilled to say the least. https://support.owletcare.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406067813645-Smart-Sock-3-Connecting-to-Wi-Fi-Using-a-Mobile-Browser Edit 11/2025: I’m thrilled to see that this post has helped so many other parents (14K views), but also disappointed that this issue hasn’t been resolved by the Owlet team. We’re still happy with this device and glad we made the purchase, and it sounds like most other parents are too. submitted by /u/El1te_Spark to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

I am a soon to be a parent and we are in the middle of buying baby items in preparation. Owlet smart sock 3
Hi, just starting with I have the most basic and minimal knowledge regarding anything IT. I am trying to connect my owlet smart sock base to wifi, it says password is incorrect. Password is correct, I have even changed it to make sure that it is definitely correct. My wifi (Telstra modem) says it does both the 2.4 and 5, and I have 0 idea how to change it to just 2.4 but I can see 2 devices connected to it, one is 2.4 so presuming it does both regardless of what it is set on. Baby is due in 4 days and I am going crazy. Apologies for lack of paragraphs I am on a phone. submitted by /u/Odd_Natural_239 to r/HomeNetworking [link] [comments]

owlet smart sock?
i was curious if any of you have positive/negative experience with the owlet (or eufy) smart sock? my son is in the NICU with brady’s and desats. he is 38w3d and was born at 33w3d. he has just almost completed a 5 day brady count after we switched from neosure formula to enfamil AR, it worked almost immediately and he had no brady’s. he was also taken off low flow oxygen. on day 5, this morning, he had a desat where his oxygen reached 20 for more than 20 seconds and he had to be stimulated for it to come back up. the doctor doesn’t know why that would happen. i’m so scared to bring him home without monitors. it happened in his sleep after a feeding. i’m considering an owlet sock, i read about false alarms but in my opinion id rather have a false alarm that prompts me to check him rather than miss a potential issue. curious what others have experienced! submitted by /u/Livid_Celery7622 to r/NICUParents [link] [comments]

Do you think the owlet sock is worth the money?
FTM here. I have extreme anxiety to the extent that I’m seeing the perinatal mental health team at my hospital. I live in fear Daily of still birth and SIDS. Baby is due early May. I’m debating getting the owlet for peace of mind for sleep for baby’s breathing. My pshyciatrist at the hospital said it’s really 50/50 and up to me to decide if I think it will be helpful or cause more anxiety. She encourage me to discuss if others found them helpful. submitted by /u/IcyAd5395 to r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu [link] [comments]

Owlet sock update
The owlet is no longer being sold in the US while they respond to the FDA and apparently create a new device. The Smart Sock’s safety has been validated by third parties, in which it was shown to be safe. In addition, the letter we received from the agency did not identify any safety concern about the Smart Sock. I’d love to know who are the 3rd parties since it’s not scientists, research groups or the AAP. Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. You can see more here. It’s not a recall so you can’t get a refund if you wanted one. submitted by /u/PrincessCG to r/NewParents [link] [comments]
