I wanted to share a small business project that’s really special to me 💛 I run a small brand that makes Asian-inspired grip socks for Pilates/barre/yoga, and all of the designs were illustrated by my little sister. One thing that was really important to us was quality. We tested multiple samples in actual Pilates classes + through the washer/dryer before releasing them because we wanted them to stay soft and grippy long term. Each design also has its own little meaning/charm behind it, which made the process feel really personal. Please recommend a good quality pilates socks. I have only bought from Shopee so far. The ones na high socks, I find them too thin and parang mabilis mabutas after several wears. The ballerina style naman are just ok. i dont have diabetes but my ankles get swollen a lot so i am trying to wear diabetic socks. does anyone know of any that are also great for pilates? i read that ppl prefer tight socks for pilates to avoid slippage/moving around so im also concerned about whether or not diabetic grip socks might be too lose for pilates. ideally they would be bamboo viscose blend too for breathability. i did find a brand that seems to fit most boxes but it doesnt have too many gripy things on the bottom. another brand seems to fit most boxes too and has a lot more dense grippies on the bottom BUT it appears to not have any under the back heel portion 🙃 submitted by /u/koalaification to r/pilates [link] [comments]

I’ve been doing Pilates since the summer and I love it. I’ve been trying to find some cute grip socks since the ones I have from Amazon are kind of well losing their good grip. It honestly astonishes me that companies are selling $20-$30 for a pair of socks. Is that really the norm? I would not consider myself a Pilates princess cause I have a tight budget. $250 a month nearly kills me. But my health is worth it. I’ve gotten some off Amazon, but I would like to support a company directly. Does anyone have recommendations for any companies selling grip socks for around $15 or less? Okay, so I've been pretty consistent with the gym for the last 3 months! This is the first time that I've been this consistent. Usually, I go for a month or two, then take long breaks before signing up again. But since I decided to start 75 Medium, I’ve found myself sticking to it, even though my 75 Medium challenge ended like two weeks ago. The thing about these challenges is that they shift your mind, body, and generally how you show up in all areas of your life. Cause tell me why I finished this challenge about 14 days ago, yet my routine is still the same? I think this is my lifestyle now, lol! Anyways, I’m looking to change up my gym routine and want to incorporate something more fun. I was thinking of skating, but then a friend of mine started taking Pilates, and she’s been hyping its benefits. I think I’m going to try Pilates, then maybe next year I can try skating. So far, I’ve been able to get almost all my Pilates equipment and gear from Alibaba (that’s where my friend got most of her things). She, however, doesn’t recommend the brand of socks she got. So, I guess my question is: what are some of the best or most popular brands for Pilates socks? How do you like my socks? I usually sweat a lot on my feet, so I always had to wear socks to avoid odor, but it would get really hot in the summer. For some reason, my Pilates studio is banning the use of any socks (including grippy) unless there’s a medical reason. Is there any actual rationale for this? Is it safer or do you get more out of the class? I hate being barefoot outside of my house and have seen some gross feet in my Pilates classes and can’t stomach getting plantar warts or anything similar. I’m thinking of just ignoring the policy unless there’s some sort of real reason? Hi I'm new to pilates but I'm having issues with the socks! I'm looking to see if anyone has had this experience: I've found myself in a routine where I hit up a Pilates class before heading to the gym or another workout session. It's seriously doubled my laundry workload due to the extra Pilates socks I need to wash. I have SO MANY pilates socks and have to keep buying new ones if they wear out or the grips aren't as effective. Why does one pair cost $20?! Is anyone more interested in fashion over function? For me personally, I could care less about how my socks look, but I'm wondering if people coordinate their outfits to match their socks?
