The Pixel 10 Pro is the worst phone I've ever owned
It's legitimately unbelievable how bad it is. There's are so many bugs, here are a few: - Audio latency delay when I use Pixel Buds for YouTube. Why is this happening with a native app? - half of my text messages never send because it says the recipient is offline. I find it hard to believe that half of the people I text are offline. It's 2026 why is texting an issue?? - Apps that worked on my Pixel 9 Pro don't work on the 10. Outlook, podcast republic, and Instagram all have bugs that we're not an issue on the last phone - Half the time I put my Pixel Buds in they don't connect I will never purchase another Google phone. They tried to add all these useless features and somehow neglected the basic things that are essential to a phone Edit: Apparently I'm the only person who has these issues. Review: First 24h with the Pixel 10 Pro, (coming from an iPhone)
A couple days ago I made a post asking if I should switch from my iPhone 15 Pro Max to the Pixel 10 Pro (256GB). The vast majority of people said no. A select few said yes and shared some of their experiences with the phone, and well... I decided to make the switch. I've always been team Android, but last September I tried an iPhone for the same time and got really used to it. Today I'm back on Android. Design and build quality: First of all, the difference in size is definitely noticeable, but I kinda like it. The build quality of this unit is amazing, it feels extremely solid and well built, just like the iPhone 15PM. I genuinely prefer this design approach over what Samsung is doing. I kinda wish it had an extra button like the iPhone though, it's so convenient. Screen: The screen is also amazing, one of the best ones I've ever used. It gets super bright, the colors look reaaaally good. The fingerprint reader is incredibly fast, smooth and reliable, better than the one on the S25U. One minor issue that I will mention is that the auto brightness isn't that good compared to other phones. I feel like it's always a bit more dimmer than it should be, so I have to manually adjust it (tbh I've deactivated it now, don't know if this will affect my battery life). Speakers: The speakers are alright. They aren't bad but they just aren't as good as the ones on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. They don't get as loud and the sound doesn't have as much body or punch. Cameras: Haven't been able to test them that much, but I can say this: The preview that you see before taking a picture has noticeably lower quality than the final photo, especially with the front facing cam... Speaking of, the front cam seems to have a lot of contrast, which is more noticeable in indoor environments. That isn't a bad thing but sometimes it kinda makes you look like a zombie lol. The photos in general seem to be pretty damn good though, no complaints there. I know for a fact that it has better zoom and ultra wide than my previous iPhone. I also like the pictures from this Pixel way more than the pictures coming from a Samsung, in terms of color and white balance. That being said, the video quality, at least on auto, seems to be worse than my 2023 released iPhone. Not sure what it is but it just doesn't feel as good. It isn't bad by any means, I just think that iPhones have some amazing video capabilities. Now here comes the bad part about the cameras on this phone and basically any other android that I've tried in the past... The quality on basically any social media sucks. I was taking a picture at the same time with the Instagram camera and the default camera and the difference in quality was abysmal, especially with the front facing camera. It looks so bad. Same thing with basically any other social media app. Another example is with WhatsApp. The video call quality is horrible, felt like it was limited to 720p (this also happened to me with my S25U and many other Androids). You also can't zoom on a video call, something that you can do with an iPhone. This was one of the things that had me worried before making the switch. I know that some Androids have great cameras, but with the iPhone everything felt so seamlessly connected, no matter what app I used, I knew that quality coming from any of my cameras would be great and extremely close to the stock camera experience. Battery: To be honest I haven't had this phone for enough time to make a conclusion. Right now I have 65 percent and have 2h43m of screen on time, location off. Before going to sleep the phone was at like 97 percent and I woke up 5 hours later to 92-91. I'm guessing the battery won't be as good as the one on the iPhone. All I'm asking is to hit 7hrs of SOT with a full charge. On another note, the charging speed is sloooooow, don't know if it's my charger or what but yesterday it was telling it that a full charge, would take another 2 hours, and the phone was already at 50 percent. This same charger (35w pd 3.0) works fine with my iPhone and my last Samsung, but for some reason it's not fast charging my Pixel. Software: I gotta be honest. Pixel Experience is one of my favorite Android skins. I definitely prefer it over OneUI. Everything feels so smooth. The UI in general is full of animations and little things that makes the phone feel more alive, more pleasant to use (same thing happens with the iPhone). Everything has haptic feedback. It may not be the most customizable one, but I definitely like Google's design language more than a lot of chinese companies and also Samsung. Haven't had any issues with the software yet, I really really really enjoy using it. That being said, there's also some features that are missing or that I couldn't find yet. There isn't an app blocker, something that the iPhone has. I also miss having a dynamic Island or at least something similar. The widgets aren't as refined as the ones on the iPhone, but this happens with every Android that I've used. I always end up downloading third party widgets on every Android. CONCLUSION: Will I keep it? Maybe. I'm gonna keep using it for a week or two and make the decision. It is definitely a pretty good phone and I already like it more than an S25 Ultra that I had for a week. Most of the issues that I mentioned are Android issues, so the Pixel isn't really doing anything wrong here. Also, I'm open to any questions :) submitted by /u/01mg to r/pixel_phones [link] [comments]

Don't buy a pixel 10 pro
I was a long time iPhone user who moved away from the iPhone 15 Pro, since that phone was trash, always ran hot and the battery life was a joke. I had high hopes from Google, especially since I had called Google my workplace in the past and met nothing but amazing people there. I eventually bought a Pixel 10 Pro hoping it would be exactly what I need. On paper everything looked pristine, decent battery, a camera that gives the iPhone a run for its money. But oh boy was I wrong. Pixel was good to me for a while. Probably cognitive dissonance, honestly. I had convinced myself I don't need good video, don't need a powerful processor, I don't use my phone that much anyway. Classic cope. The software is genuinely amazing, I will not complain about a single thing there. But the hardware is a plethora of disappointments. The overheating is what finally broke me. It crept up slowly. First warm during a call, fine. Then warm while charging, okay. Then one morning I picked it up before even unlocking it and it was already generating heat like it had been thinking too hard overnight. That heat kills the battery too, because the chip never settles down, so your real world numbers are nowhere near what Google advertises. The camera does great photos, genuinely, no complaints. But switch to video and it becomes a different, worse device. Stabilization oversmoothes everything into this weird floaty motion, colors shift, details smear. You show someone a photo and they're impressed. You show them a video and they ask if you shot it on something old. Some part of me assumed the goodwill I had for the people at Google transferred to the product. It doesn't. Somewhere between the chip team and the thermal engineers, somebody made peace with shipping a hot, throttled phone and called it done. I miss being wrong about the iPhone less than I miss having a phone I didn't have to make excuses for. TL;DR: Switched from iPhone 15 Pro (hot, bad battery) to Pixel 10 Pro hoping for better. Software is great, photos are great, everything else is a disaster. Overheats constantly, battery drains because of said overheating, and video looks like it was shot on a potato. Paid flagship money for a hand warmer. Do not recommend. submitted by /u/merul_is_awesome to r/GooglePixel [link] [comments]

My long term Pixel 10 Pro anti-youtuber review
Review won't be about benchmark numbers or spec sheet reading or "camera good" like all youtubers does reviews look like these days. I wrote this review personally and bottom part is rewritten by Gemini to help people to understand it better. The Review will be about things that youtubers are not telling you because they got paid for "positive review". My review will be from my point of view as a previous iPhone user since 3G model till iPhone 13 Pro model then Pixel 4, 5, Galaxy S23Ultra, Pixel 8, 9Pro and now 10Pro. I am software person which means I do NOT care about benchmark numbers. What hurts my brain is software MESS present in Samsung phones like their security from dodgy Mcafee, keyboard from Gramarly app, Cloud from Microsoft, AI from Perplexity (together with Gemini to create bigger chaos and finally Bixby to put user in mental institution) then apps duplication like two browsers, two App Stores (Google Play and Galaxy Store) two messengers (Samsung and Google Messages) and much more. That was the reason I quit Galaxy S23 Ultra and moved to Pixel - because of EVERYTHING one ecosystem, even email and I mean address. Additionally I like Google shift to copy Apple iPhone ideology which means - focus on "audio, visual, feedback" hardware which means - do the best display, best speakers, best haptic and connect all of this with best software to create final phone experience and that is why so many people love Pixels. Now why we got "Pixel is slow in benchmarks situation"? Because Google ideology is NOT to be like Samsung and Chinese phones are, which they are like - "let's fry chip and battery for the time that benchmark is creating best scores so youtubers slap uneducated viewers big number is good, low number is bad" - fun fact - Pixel 10 is nearly same fast as same-year-released Galaxy S25 after 20 minutes of gaming - it is "NEARLY" as fast because Google focused in Tensor on AI cores chip NOT on GPU chip. And here comes whole Pixel glory - AI chip which is part of Tensor which is responsible for background tasks like 24/7 listen for Hey Google, background processing for scammer during phone call, leaving Google (Gemini) to deal with caller (or scammer) before Gemini decide to bother with such a person - call summaries and other Phone app AI features to help you understand Google is giving you THE SMARTphone. Additionally AI core chip is responsible for all those background tasks to do them efficiently and that is the reason my Pixel 10 Pro holds battery for FULL FOUR days (because of I am NOT phone addict) and when I do "phone de-tox" Pixel holds me A WEEK on battery- YES week! Obviously when I am on holiday and I do REALLY HEAVY tasks like navigation in direct sun when all those 3000 nits of brightness kick in and tons of photos, videos, AI Live Gemini showing it other language restaurant menus, shops, recommendations EVERYTHING - then yes - Pixel holds 1 day (like DAYLIGHT day) on battery. Pixel 10 Boot time is shocking FAST like few seconds and thinking Pixel 10 Pro 128GB has just UFS3 storage speeds I am thinking how fast it would be with Galaxy S25/26 4000MB/s speeds. Next thing - 16GB RAM in Pixel 10 Pro like even iPhone nor Galaxy ULTRA does NOT have. Well, their 12GB RAM for basic app usage like browser, calendar, messages it is fine - BUT for ON-BOARD AI processing it is barely enough... today - yes - that is why we have RAM crisis because SERIOUS AI LLM can take HUNDREDS GB RAM. There are no big problems that I would change in Pixel - like zoom lens rattle, matte aluminium rails which I never see because I use case. Modem situation - it has been proven Tensor modem has THE FASTEST WiFi compared to iPhone and Galaxy and benchmarks testing 5G modem (with phone call) Pixel battery life was shorter because testers didn't say anything that Pixel Phone APP was heavily using AI core chip with ALL AI features. Now repairbility thing - let's say this way - with Chinese phone ZERO CHANCES for purchasing original replacement parts - then battery replacement in Apple Watch = VERY HIGH risk of damaging display - replacing battery in Pixel Watch 4 = JUST screwdriver and VERY SIMPLE and VERY LOW RISK damaging display, then you have Pixel parts availability on iFixit website where Samsung makes problems with their availability. Then unrealistic changes that cannot sacrifice cameras like sticking out camera bar. My next suggestion to Google would be more frequent release devices like Laptop and Tablet. Pixel price tag - many people are forgetting how much cost SOFTWARE - how much cost 7 years OS updates, how much cost AI in Phone app development. Finally - should Google shift Tensor from focusing on AI core chip to GPU for gamers? 100% NO! This review has been written messy to prove it was written by human. I am posting this here because Google Pixel reddid says it is not Pixel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And here is rewritten by Gemini for people who unable to understand human to help them understand you are AI bot. Pixel 10 Pro: A "Real World" Experience Review Forget the benchmark scores and spec-sheet readings. This review focuses on the actual user experience and the things paid reviewers often leave out. The User Journey My perspective comes from years of high-end smartphone use, transitioning from iPhone (3G through 13 Pro) to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, and finally through the Pixel 4, 5, 8, 9 Pro, and now the 10 Pro. As someone who prioritizes software over raw numbers, I’ve found that "speed" on paper rarely matches "experience" in your hand. The Software Ecosystem: Clean vs. Chaos The primary reason I left the Galaxy S23 Ultra was the "software mess". Samsung phones often suffer from a chaotic mix of third-party integrations and app duplication: Bloated Security & Utilities: Security by McAfee, keyboards integrated with Grammarly, and cloud storage pushed toward Microsoft. AI Overload: A confusing mix of Bixby, Gemini, and Perplexity. Duplicate Apps: Having two browsers, two app stores, two messaging apps, and two calendars creates unnecessary friction. In contrast, the Pixel offers a unified ecosystem. Google has adopted an ideology similar to Apple’s: focusing on the "audio, visual, and feedback" trifecta—high-quality displays, superior speakers, and precise haptics—all tied together by clean software. Performance: AI Power vs. Benchmark Hype There is a common complaint that Pixels are "slow" in benchmarks. However, this is a choice of engineering, not a lack of power: Stability Over "Frying": Many competitors "fry" their chips and batteries to get a high peak score for reviewers. In real-world gaming, the Pixel 10 Pro remains nearly as fast as the Galaxy S25 after 20 minutes because it manages heat better. The AI Core: The Tensor chip prioritizes AI cores over GPU power. This chip handles 24/7 background tasks like "Hey Google," real-time scam call detection, and Gemini-powered call summaries. RAM for the Future: While the iPhone and Galaxy Ultra models often stick to 12GB of RAM, the Pixel 10 Pro features 16GB. This is essential because serious on-board AI processing (LLMs) requires massive memory. Battery Life & Efficiency Because the AI core handles background tasks so efficiently, the battery life is highly adaptable: Light Usage: For a "non-addict," the battery can last four full days. Phone Detox: On standby with minimal use, it can last an entire week. Heavy Duty: Under extreme conditions—heavy navigation in direct sun at 3000 nits, constant photography, and Live Gemini translations—it reliably lasts one full daylight day. Hardware, Modem, and Repairability Speed: Despite having UFS 3.0 storage, the boot time is incredibly fast (just a few seconds). Connectivity: The Tensor modem has been proven to have the fastest Wi-Fi compared to its main rivals. Repairability: Unlike Apple or many Chinese brands, Google makes repair simple. Replacing a Pixel Watch 4 battery requires only a screwdriver and carries a very low risk of screen damage. Parts are also readily available through iFixit, which is a better experience than Samsung’s current parts availability. The Final Verdict Is the Pixel 10 Pro worth the price? When you factor in the cost of seven years of OS updates, the constant development of AI features, and the high-end hardware, the value is clear. Google shouldn't pivot to focus on gaming GPUs—the focus on a "Smart" phone via the AI core is exactly what makes the Pixel glorious. submitted by /u/Loud-Possibility4395 to r/Android [link] [comments]

I'm frustrated with my pixel 10 pro xl and regret buying it.
Sorry this is a rant out of frustration. But since I bought the phone in November, I have never been able to use my Android Auto in my car (Skoda Kamiq). I have reported this, sent multiple bug reports, and they just tell me about once a month when I request an update: "We are doing everything we can to fix this." And now since this latest update my battery drains at about 10 to 20% per hour when using it for general web browsing and social media. I have again contact help and they have told me I need to.send my device to them for repairs which could take up to 2 weeks. Is anyone else feeling buyers remorse? submitted by /u/Inevitable-Ant-9398 to r/GooglePixel [link] [comments]

RE:What phones do you use?
I had a Galaxy 23 I think it was. Not a bad phone, but after a few years I was up for an upgrade. Went to the Pixel 10 Pro, mostly for a better camera since the base Galaxy phones have the same camera and sensor for years now.

I’m Considering an upgrade on my phone, and if anyone has a pixel 10 pro, I’d like to get some feedback on the overall experience. What’s good, what’s bad. What are some things that I should expect? Do NOT buy a Pixel 10!!!! Very sad!!
Long story, but the Pixel 10 has a G5 chip but it's not an upgrade from the G4!! Much worse and here's why. The G5 is the first chip not made by Samsung and instead by TSMC which was fine. BUT, the Pixel 10 runs AI off of the chip locally vs the cloud servers. Why is this an issue? Because the info on the local chip is very limited and about 80% of the time gets stuff completely wrong involving electronics or even the Pixel phone itself. The Pixel 10 is set by default to fast mode. You can't change that. Google offers a 1 year AI advanced plan ($239) for free to all Pixel 10 users. I spent 4 hours trying to get this and bottom line, my phone doesn't qualify because Verizon sold me a returned phone for a discount. Google knows this chip is dumb which will cause you to pay for smarter AI. There's no way to make it access the cloud for better results automatically. Fast mode (default) told me all the cables I needed to purchase for a product. I paid $300 for incorrect cables. I asked Gemini and it said it was sorry and to get these kinds of cables. I bought 5 batches of cables until it was right! My Pixel 9 Pro XL gave me good information and directions because it was using the vast knowledge of all of Google's Cloud data. I can open Gemini and change the mode from fast to thinking which forces it to use the cloud. Google said that will be going away unless I pay for AI. But every time I say Hey Google and ask it a question, it uses only its internal brain and most often gives me wrong answers or generic answers. The local AI must not be happy as it now cusses. When trying to get me my year of AI, AI said...... because Google is a pain in the ass. It says it's stupid quite often and it interrupts all the time. It told me how to change the default mode to thinking vs fast but it's instructions led me to something that doesn't exist. It does that a lot. Bottom line, everyone using a Pixel 10 without using the 1 year of advanced AI, is getting subpar and often incorrect results. After your year of advanced AI, free on my older phones, you'll be hooked and when you don't pay monthly, you'll be frustrated by how DUMB it is. I'm not going to pay for basic correct AI. I don't need to make images or video. AI assisted features don't work as well, like call screening. Mine freezes on occasion like my old Pixel 6 Pro. The "fast" mode is usually SLOW when trying to answer any advanced questions. Overall the phone feels slower than my 9 Pro XL. I've had keyboard issues as well. I'm going to return mine and maybe get the 9 Pro XL because I don't notice anything that's improved on the 10 with exception of MagSafe. I always just bought cases with magnets on them and my phone would hold to my car charger and charge. I bought this phone for one purpose, AI, and now it sucks on here. I depend on Gemini many times throughout the day and it's unacceptable that it answers me with no accurate information from the Cloud. There's no hands free way to use thinking mode and Google told me that'll only be available if I pay at any moment. I want to go back to the 9 Pro XL but I want a phone that I'll keep wanting to upgrade and the new present situation is not a good future. Google wants to charge me for accurate information. I paid over $1000 for accurate information. I'm sure the monthly prices will keep going up after people get hooked. I've been a loyal Pixel user owning a 6,7,8,9, and now 10 Pro XL. With the 10 I've had other serious issues. One issue cut off access to all websites even if I used a browser like Firefox. It redirected me to Google search every time. Took 7 hours of me teaching the dumb phone what was going on step by step. Gemini said that it opened a security case as this was a serious security issue that happened immediately after a new update. I told them I was a computer technician for 29 years and I should bill them, but instead I'll take a Pixel Watch 4. It told me no problem and I should get that watch. It never happened of course. Gemini had me erase all of my secondary accounts to try to get my free AI. Live chat had me restore them all. Gemini had me cancel my Google One subscription and live chat had me restore it. Today it tried to give me a link to a cable that I needed. I counted 16 times where it sent me to something not even related. I gave up, went on Amazon, and found it in 30 seconds. Truly disappointed and now I'm considering my other options like an iPhone or Galaxy etc. Problem is, they'll use Gemini or ChatGPT which will probably become limited unless you pay for accurate results. I bought Pixels not because of their hardware, but instead because how smart they are. The Pixel 10 is not the smartest smartphone. That's sad. submitted by /u/BigRedDog1979 to r/GooglePixel [link] [comments]

What I learned from coming from Google Pixel 10 Pro > Google Pixel 4 XL > iPhone 17 Pro
Hi all, I wanted to share what I learned from coming from Google Pixel 10 Pro > Google Pixel 4 XL > iPhone 17 Pro. So I pre-ordered the 10 Pro and used it for almost a month until I accidentally broke it, it fell off from my pocket. After this I bought a case, used it with a case for a couple of days and sold it. After selling it, I was rocking my old 4 XL for a few days until I decided to buy iPhone 17 Pro. That’s the short story of how I got to this point. Okay, let’s talk about the differences between the phones. Right after switching to iPhone I immediately noticed how slow it is compared to 10 Pro. I know the 17 Pro has a super-duper processor and optimization, but guys, in most apps the scrolling feels like it’s 60hz and 4 XL feels faster compared to it. The animations are so slow, you feel sleepy while using it. In usual day-to-day tasks 10 Pro feels a lot faster and snappier. I don’t play games, so I can’t say anything about this aspect of usage. The cameras. If you felt like the camera feels choppy on 10 Pro in preview mode, it’s the same thing for 17 Pro. The only flawless thing here is switching between lenses. Photo quality is better on 10 Pro; video is, of course, better on iPhone. I installed all the apps I was using on Pixel, and all of them feel faster on Pixel. The only difference here for me is that 1Password’s autocomplete is almost flawless on iPhone compared to Pixel when it’s hit or miss. iPhone lacks a universal back gesture, which pisses me off because I have to guess every time whether I should press a button in the top left corner or whether I need to swipe to the right. I really miss the haptic feedback on Pixels, iPhone feels too plain and lifeless. At least they allow you to enable haptics for the keyboard. Face unlock is OK, nothing to talk about here, except that I prefer the fingerprint sensor more. Also, iPhone still wobbles when laying on a table. The dynamic island is not necessary at all, just a gimmick, in my opinion. Action button for camera wasn’t needed as well – I believe I could live without it at all. Pixel’s Android 16’s control panel is way superior to what I have on iPhone, and, in general, Android 16 feels much better than iOS 26. What I wanted to say with all of this. If you bought 10 Pro and are hesitating about whether you should have bought iPhone 17 – don’t. Pixel 10 Pro is an exceptional phone. If I hadn’t broken my 10 Pro I would stick with it for sure; I have no idea why I bought this iPhone, maybe out of curiosity. You don’t lose anything having a Pixel – sleep tight. Thanks for the attention. submitted by /u/AggressiveCalendar4 to r/pixel_phones [link] [comments]

Pixel 10 Pro XL failed me when calling 911. This could be deadly
If you own a Pixel 10, read this before you ever need to call 911 I’ve only had my new Pixel 10 Pro XL for a few days. Today, I had to call 911. The call connected… but what came through the speaker was horrifying. Not voices. Not static. Just a nightmare mix of garbled beeps, shrill electronic screeches, and the occasional ghost of a human word buried in the noise. It was like trying to talk to aliens through a broken modem. I tried four times. Same result every time. Finally, I grabbed my old Pixel 7 with the same carrier, same exact spot, and the 911 call went through instantly with crystal clear audio. Every other call I’ve made on the Pixel 10 Pro XL works perfectly from this location. This only happens with 911. Today, it wasn’t life or death. Next time, it could be. And if that happens, this phone could be the reason someone doesn’t get help in time. Has anyone else seen this on the Pixel 10 series? This feels like a critical, dangerous flaw that needs immediate attention from Google before it costs lives. Yes, I noticed that others on older phones mentioned issues with 911 but this is 2025 new flagship phone. I will note I already contact support, but it has not helped so far and not exactly something you can test easily calling 911. NOTE: Ok I just got someone commenting that they also had the same issue with the pixel 10 phone. So, I wonder if anyone can call emergency service on the pixel 10 then. UPDATE: After nearly two weeks, I’ve received zero response from Google support about my Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 911 failure. I’ve now requested a refund and will be switching to an iPhone, which appears to handle emergency calls reliably. It’s unacceptable that such a critical issue has been ignored. submitted by /u/YellowWidget to r/GooglePixel [link] [comments]

Lifelong iPhone User → Pixel 10 Pro XL
As a lifelong iPhone User, I began to feel bored of what felt like the same phone every year. I've had the new Pixel for ~24 hours and so far it's been fun! Some initial thoughts: -Android Auto is so much better than Apple Carplay -Widgets are not as good as iOS which is shocking because that was androids claim to fame for quite a while. Even some of the OEM google widgets seem not very optimized. (Maybe some updates will resolve this) -I can't adjust the flashlight brightness?? -Notifications are so much better on Android -Cameras are good but haven't had an opportunity to truly test them -Niche, but MTG Arena does not run as smoothly on the Pixel Overall I'm happy with the switch and it all feels so new. Time will tell if I will stick with it, I'll be replacing my Apple Watch Ultra with the PW4 when it comes out. submitted by /u/bherr777 to r/pixel_phones [link] [comments]
