I (20 F) live with my boyfriend (21 M) who we'll call Kaleb and our roommate (24 F) who we'll call Sage and I've recently noticed my razor moving from the spot I put it. Sage and I agreed we'd have different colored razors so I assumed the first time or two it moved it was an accident but today I noticed her face was freshly shaved, she didn't have a razor in the bathroom and mine was moved. I think it’s basically confirmed that he has a Bankai. “I have Reached the limits of a shinigami” without having achieved Bankai? Yeah right. We’ve seen dumb, weak, immoral and deceptive people obtain Bankai, no reason Aizen couldn’t. My entire life I've been using modern cartridge razors to shave, but as my beard has gotten thicker its starting to get annoying. I can't shave effectively every day without getting razor burn and ingrown hairs, so I'm considering switching to a safety razor for a better shave. Seems like the type of item I'd only have to buy once (if I get a quality one) so I figured it would qualify for this sub. I don't really have a set budget in mind, but if its truly worth it, I'd be willing to spend around $200 on a BIFL razor. I’ve been using Gillette Venus razors for Pushing 20 years but they have become basically useless. I can’t even get 24 hours out of my shave anymore. They reduced the quality of their blades and they’re complete junk now. I’ve honestly never loved them but they used to at least get the job done. Greed is just tanking the quality of everything these days. I’m thinking of switching to mens razors but open to suggestions. I’d rather not spend an arm and a leg as razors can get quite expensive. Scooped up the Harry’s razors 13-pack deal yesterday at a great price. Used one today for the 1st time and it cut my whole face up!!!!! Never experienced anything like it. I hate Gillette but have been using them for years and was hoping Harry’s would be at least as good. But this brand new Harry’s razor performed worse, FAR worse, than the Gillette razor I’ve been using for 6 months. No exaggeration. I haven’t changed the Gillette blade in that long and it still does the job. Do these Harry’s razors suck that bad or did I just get a bad batch (if that’s possible)? Or, dare I say, is there some trick to using them!? I never EVER thought I’d say this but I’ll have to go crawling back to Gillette and their price gouge. So I've been using the Merkur 37c for 12 years. Recently picked up the Henson AL13 Medium (not for me) and the Razorock Lupo 95 (big fan!). This got me thinking as to what is everyone top 3 razors, for those of you who alternate between various razors. Initially I thought that maybe everyone would recommend a slant, an adjustable, and a standard safety razor. I'm like more aggressive razors personally, but am looking to add a razor or two to my tiny "collection" and am looking for inspiration. The folks over at /r/frugal frequently recommend safety razors because of the cost savings. And, after doing the math, I definitely see why. However, I’ve been using a safety razor for a week now and I’m not too impressed with the quality of the shave. I was under the impression it’s a cheaper and better shave, but for me it’s just been cheaper. I still feel stubble on my skin immediately after shaving. I can’t see it, but I feel it when applying aftershave. This never happened with the disposable razor I was using. My safety razor came with 5 free razor blades. I was hoping it was just the blades, so I purchased Astra blades, which came highly recommended. The crazy thing is I feel like it’s even worse with those blades. I’ve only used one so far, so I’m hoping the first one I opened was just a dud. I really don’t think it’s a technique issue because I’ve been using it for a week and did some research on shaving with safety razors. Has anyone else had this experience? Edit: just to add, I know how to shave (going with the grain, short and slow strokes, angle it at 30°, etc.). I use good quality shaving cream with a good lather. Edit 2: I just wanted to say, I’m so impressed with this community. I’ve received such great feedback and everyone has a positive vibe.
