Got a call the other day that a distant uncle I haven’t spoken to in over 15 years passed away in his home. Police asked if I can go down and bolt the door shut, since they had to bust it down to get him out. So I went down to the property, opened the door and saw this wild and scary living conditions. I was not prepared for what I saw. I had to go to home depot and buy some PPE before I went in. Now the fun part begins trying to clear everything out. submitted by /u/chiliv06 to r/oddlyterrifying [link] [comments]

Ack! Roma Tomatoes germinated and went leggy within 3 days!!
HELP! I planted my Romas (I have 3 flats of them) the day I left for a three day trip, not thinking they would germinate that fast. Well, they did. All 50 of them. And they weren't under lights. I have them under lights now, but they are so leggy. Are they ruined or is there anything I can do to fix them? submitted by /u/Clean_Following5895 to r/vegetablegardening [link] [comments]

roma tomato help!!
first time gardener, can anyone tell me how to help my roma plant? the leaves are perpetually wilted and curled like this (pics 1-4), it's producing new fruit, that little one just appeared the other day, but i’m wondering if it can't support fruit yet? for context pics 5-7 are the other tomato plants i have in the same bed, two are growing a bit slowly but my sun gold plant has exploded and has tons of tiny tomatoes. they all get the same sun, water and fertilizer. do i need to pick the fruit and play more of a long game or leave it be since it's still managing to produce? tia!! submitted by /u/cellllardoor to r/vegetablegardening [link] [comments]

ULPT pick the vine ripened tomatoes off the vine and run them as Roma tomatoes at self-checkout.
The vine ripened are usually tastier, and also sometimes more than $1 per pound more. But they also look basically identical to the Roma ones. Pick them, put them in the bag, and run them as romas. Nobody would know. My tomatoes at the store went from 4.41 to 2.63. submitted by /u/FotographicFrenchFry to r/UnethicalLifeProTips [link] [comments]

My stunted Romas gave me a surprising amount of tomatoes.
And I canned them today. 20-30lbs so far from about as many plants. They are barely 2’ tall. Long story, it many things worked to stunt them: compacted soil blocks, then unfinished compost, then aphids, then floods, but they are mine and they are mighty. 11 quarts of raw-packed whole tomatoes in jars so far with only about half picked. Spaghetti sauce and salsa is next. (A few are early girls in the photo). submitted by /u/Positive_Throwaway1 to r/vegetablegardening [link] [comments]

What is wrong with my Roma tomatoes?
I planted Roma tomatoes from seeds for the first time this year. The seed package was labeled ā€˜Roma Tomato’, but the fruits are quite differents from the Roma tomatoes I usually buy at the market. Mines are hollow and very dry, soft and grainy. If I try to broil them, they disintegrates in a mush unlike the ones I buy that keeps mostly their shape. Is there different types of Roma tomatoes? How can I find a cultivar that would be closer to the tomatoes I buy? Or am I doing something wrong with my plants? submitted by /u/poudingfinal to r/vegetablegardening [link] [comments]

So happy with today’s harvest! It’s my first time growing Roma tomatoes and I ended up with a good amount for canning.
