Thanks for that…. Radio city reviews are consistently higher in fairness from what I’ve read so far and it seems to be located a little bit better too … it’s the price and (in the photos anyway) the room decor seemed a bit more modern in the Edison that has it on my radar along with the separate beds.

He’s my first and only biological child, and I had wanted him for a very long time. Here’s the issue: I had a very specific vision for my son’s room that I’d planned well in advance. I painted two ombre walls that go from grass green to sky blue and transition into a dusty blue ceiling covered in glow-in-the-dark stars. His ceiling light has a sun-shaped lampshade, and his nightlight is a moon. He has a Montessori-style floor bed designed to look like a tent, a grassy rug, a ball pit that looks like a pool, tree trunk–shaped toy chests that double as chairs and a table, and a tree-shaped bookshelf. I paid for all of this myself. When it came to my stepdaughter’s room, we asked her what she wanted. She said she wanted a reading nook, so we created one with a small round mattress, a ton of cushions in her favorite colors, and a mosquito net canopy. He just comes from a different mindset—some people are savers, some are spenders. He’s the former, I’m the latter, and honestly, it works for us. He’s still getting used to the idea that we can spend money just to make life nicer. My stepdaughter ended up apologizing. She said, coming back from her mum’s (where she shares a room) and seeing her little brother’s room made her feel left out. It feels like he always gets the “cool stuff”and even his daycare is better equipped than hers was. he won’t have to deal with bouncing between homes like she does. She knows it’s not about love, and she adores her brother, but she gets a little jealous sometimes. She still likes her room—especially the nook—but wanted it to feel more hers. We picked out a pastel sunset mural, and we’re adding a dance corner with a barre and mirrors, plus lights and drapes around her bed to cozy it up. She’s really excited now. My brother & SIL moved in temporarily. They're staying in the guests room. So far we've been on the same page concerning all things except the decorative pillows. My wife loves adding decorative pillows on beds, and she did the same with the guests bedroom. She did it to make the room look better and also it's her preference. She came to me complaining about seeing the decorative pillows in the guests room being put on the floor and not being put on bed during the day. I went to talk with my brother and he explained that SIL was tired of having to move the (7 pillows in total) pillows before using tthe bed. I explained how my wife finds this disrespectful but He thought it was no big deal and that my wife was being a little too obssessed especially since SIL is pregnant and can't put the pillows back every time. We had a fight and I ended up calling him & SIL "rude guests" because of it. He & SIL got offended and there was tension in the house over it. My wife isn't speaking to them, and they aren't speaking to me. AITA? I 47m have 2 sons from my past marriage. Abel 16 and Michael 15. When I got remarried six years ago Abel was very accepting and got on great with his new stepmom Laurie. Michael put up a fuss and was adamant about being with his mom full time. I fought like hell to keep him in my custody but once he hit 13 the agreement changed anyways. He stays with his mom half the month and with us the other half. We moved last year and Laurie and Abel have spent time decorating Abels room and making it his own. Michael was offered the same thing recently. Laurie offered to take him to IKEA, BEST BUY and some other store to find some new furniture and have a day to put the room together. He said he'd think about it and she respected that but still showed him paint colors, beds and stuff to get him excited about it. Last weekend he came home with a POD full of furniture his mom bought him. I asked him about it and he said his mom helped him pick out the furniture and was coming around in a few to help him build it and arrange everything. I told Laurie as a heads up and she was absolutely crushed. I took my son aside and told him the kind and fair thing to do would be to invite Laurie to help. He said "nah." and told me he wanted to build with his Mom. Unbeknownst to me Laurie did try to join them and asked if they needed help and my son sent her away and locked the door so she wouldn't come back. After Laurie told me this I grounded him for the week and told him at least he'd enjoy the room his Mom helped decorate. He of course left early to his mother's and told me he he'd see me on our next rotation. Laurie is saying I shouldn't have grounded him for spending time with his mom and my ex wife is saying if I keep treating him like this I I won't see Michael outside of holidays and birthdays. Edit for INFO: My son told me his mom was coming to help him decorate and I did say yes hoping he'd make it a "step'mom and mom" type of thing, I wasn't expecting him to completely exclude Laurie. To those who must know why my marriage ended, my wife came out and realized she couldn't be with me and be her most authentic self. I do not harbor hate towards her, if that can explain why I don't hate my ex-wife and why my current wife wasn't too upset to see her in the house.
