I Own Way Too Many Korean Foundations. Let's Swatch, Review + Rank!
On my last trip to Seoul, I set out to find my new HG foundation. My favorite for many years has been Moonshot's Micro Correctfit foundation, which was discontinued a few years ago in their rebrand. As my supply dwindled down to my final bottle and I found myself in Seoul, I decided my goal was to buy multiple foundations while I was able to sample and swatch in store to make sure I got a decent shade match. Yes, I know this is a LOT of foundations but I was taking advantage of the opportunity to try a bunch and hopefully being able to share reviews and swatches here will help someone. About my skin/tone: Normal-to-dry, light skin with warm undertones. I am almost always a 21 in Asian foundations, or the closest available warm shade. Late 30s so there are some fine lines brewing foundation can settle in. My season is a soft autumn. What I look for in a foundation: Medium coverage that looks natural. Foundations that are too matte tend to break along my nose or chin. Should wear well in hot, humid weather in the Southern US and I'm recently trying to not powder my face and use only setting spray. I typically apply foundation with a sponge, even cushion foundations I will finish with my sponge over the included one. I have had most of these since November, so I have worn them all many times to form an opinion. But as I have not had them in the summer yet I haven't yet been able to test against summer weather. All of these foundations were purchased in while in Seoul or via retailers that ship from Korea, so they are all the official Korean formulation and not modified for US FDA SPF regulations. Every foundation should be currently available, with the exception being my previous HG Moonshot foundation that I am only including since it is what I was comparing everything to. REVIEW TIME Moonshot Micro Correctfit -- My skin just loves this foundation. It is the perfect combination of hydrating without being super glowy, lasts all day, and doesn't break. I always thought this was a perfect match, but I am noticing how much darker it is next to the other swatches. I'm sure it has oxidized over time. Shade 201, SPF50+ PA+++. tfit Icy Fit Cushion -- Do you want to glow enough that your face can be seen from space? This cushion is for you! People comment on how good my skin looks when I wear this, but despite that it isn't at the top of my rankings. I do think it might go higher in the summer when I can properly test its claims of cooling down the surface of the skin. It has one of the highest SPF/PA ratings. Shade W01 Vanilla, SPF50+ PA++++. About Tone Skin Layer Fit -- This foundation is super thick coming out of the pump, I don't think I've ever used a foundation with such a thick consistency. But it blends out easily and the smallest pump goes really far, so I think this bottle will last me a very long time. Despite the consistency, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and has a very pretty, natural finish. It's a near-perfect shade match for me too, the undertone is perfect for my subtle yellow undertones so it just disappears into my skin. It does seems to break around my nose after a few hours so it isn't my highest ranking foundation but it is a great foundation I will happily use up. Shade 21.5W Light Beige, SPF 30 PA++ Hince Second Skin Foundation -- I really wanted to like this one more because I love Hince's products, and the bottle is so cool (although I resent it a bit for not fitting in my vanity drawer). It has a noticeable fragrance which is so unnecessary in a foundation IMO. The color looks nice coming out of the bottle but it oxidize so much after a few minutes and pulls very orange. It does live up to the second skin name, because it feels like nothing on and looks very natural. But because of the oxidizing color and scent it isn't one I will reach for. They do have some very light shades (13 and 15) so if you're really pale it could be one to consider, even with the oxidizing color. Shade 21 Ivory, SPF 30 PA++ Wakemake Seamless Wear Foundation -- This one was a shade fail on my part. They don't have a warm shade in 21 so I opted for the neutral 21 shade which in store looked somewhat warm. I should have gotten shade 19, which is warm but thought it would be too light. Shade match aside, I really like this foundation. It has great coverage without using a lot of product and looks great at the end of the day. It does not play well with setting powder, and really shows the powder sitting on top of it. Shade 21N, SPF 30 PA+++ Espoir Be Velvet Foundation -- This is a beautiful shade match for me despite being considered neutral, but the velvet finish is just not what my skin wants so it looks a bit dry on my skin. The finish is a true velvet, blurring effect and not a straight up matte. I don't have very large pores but it does a great job at hiding them. I think it is a solid product, just might not be for me. I hope to keep trying it into the warmer months when my skin is less dry. Espoir always has fabulous packaging, and this is a great example of that. The bottle feels so luxe and like a high-end designer foundation. Shade 21N, SPF 22 PA++ Espoir Be Glow Stick Foundation -- Picked this up because I liked the shade, but not the finish of the other Espoir foundation. I have not used a stick foundation in over 25 years and unfairly associate them as being heavy and cakey, since the last one I used was a super high coverage theater makeup product. This is not the same thing! It is light coverage and a "your skin but better" product. The light coverage does mean it isn't what I reach for when I want a full face, but it is perfect for putting on a 5 minute face to get out the door. I always find myself looking at my skin when I wear it. I did not think I would like a stick foundation so much, but I love how quick it can be applied and that is is travel friendly when I want to keep my liquids under control. Great SPF coverage too! This will be one I always have in my drawer. Shade W01 Vanilla, SPF 50+ PA++++ Etude Double Lasting Vegan Cover Foundation -- When I saw this at Olive Young, I thought it had replaced the original Double Lasting foundation. Since I always liked that product I decided to try this one. This foundation feels like Etude has grown up with me, because it feels like it was made for adults and not the youthful market I associate them with. This has a much more natural finish and feels like nothing is on my skin. Wears beautiful all day and doesn't budge. I wish they had more shades like the other Etude foundations. The packaging is chic and minimalist, but unfortunately the pump is terrible and leaks foundation after I'm done with it. Then it gets all smooshed in the clear cap and looks a mess. Shade 19N Light Beige, SPF 32 PA++ Etude Double Lasting OG Foundation -- After I bought the Vegan version, I looked into whether this had been discontinued and found it had not but Olive Young didn't carry it. This was one of the first Korean foundations I ever used and I recall liking it. I didn't see it anywhere in Seoul (fwiw, I did not go to the Etude store) so this is one I ordered online after the fact. The shade range has changed since I last purchased it (previously I was Y03 Ivory) and it seems the formula may have changed as well. The weird thing about this foundation is I find it can look a bit heavy when I'm looking at my skin in the mirror (it has great coverage) but it photographs absolutely beautifully. I tend to use this one when I'm working from home and want to look polished in an on-camera meeting, and recently wore it for my passport photo. Because it is pretty high coverage, it is the closest to a lot of Western foundations and something people new to K-beauty would like. Shade 21W1, SPF 35 PA++ tfit Radiance Serum Fit Foundation -- Oooh, this foundation is pretty! It is the only foundation on this list that does not have any sun protection in it, which is interesting for a Korean brand. But it does mean it can be purchased on global sites and will be identical to what is sold in Korea. This is a true serum foundation that falls somewhere inbetween a BB cream and a foundation. More coverage than a BB cream, but still looks natural and like I'm not wearing makeup. Gives a nice, radiant glow but doesn't look artificial. It's a great shade match for me, and my skin looks healthy when I wear it. Shade name and appearance is consistent with the tfit cushion, even though they are different lines. Shade W01 Vanilla, no SPF Hince Second Skin Glow Cushion -- So much better than the liquid foundation. No scent, and the color does not oxidize. One of my favorite cushion packages as well, where the foundation doesn't ooze out if pushed on a bit too hard. The product gets on the sponge and not my fingers. The product feel is very similar to the liquid foundation with the weightless, skin-like finish but the added glow element improves upon the finish on my skin type. Cushions aren't usually my favorite, but this is one of the best I've used. Shade 21 Ivory, SPF 50+ PA++++ Jung Saem Mool Essential Skin Nuder Cushion -- Despite my love of K-beauty, this was my first Jung Saem Mool product. The shade runs a bit darker than I'd expect out of a 21, and apparently that is a trend with JSM products and I wasn't aware. I can get away with it if I blend well, but I would get a lighter shade next time. I do knock it over the shade, because typically Korean foundations are pretty consistent shades between brands with the standard numbering, and JSM appears to differ from that. It is very hydrating with a beautiful finish. It's won so many awards I will try it again with a better shade. Shade 21 Medium, no SPF. Phew, OK that is a lot to read! In short, I don't dislike any of these foundations as most Korean foundations are excellent, so even my least favorite are still objectively very good. Underrated Korean Toner Pads Review
As a Korean skincare addict I wanted to share some toner pads I've loved but feel like not enough people talk about. These are the ones that surprised me in a good way and I hate keeping them to myself haha. My skin is sensitive dehydrated combo (oily T-zone but dry everywhere else) gets red easily and I need makeup to stay put without looking cakey. I don't have major concerns most of the time just occasional tightness or flakiness that shows up in drier months. My routine is basic: gentle cleanser, toner pad (these ones), a light serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen in the morning. I've been using these pads for over 3 months now rotating them into my daily routine and they've been a nice addition. - Benton The pads are huge and thick seriously the biggest I've used. I always do a toner pad pack before makeup and this one makes my base go on flawlessly. It gives this inner glow that shows through foundation like instant glass skin. If that's your goal try it once. It's gentle super hydrating and calming too. Hands down my favorite on this list. - Torriden Everyone raves about the green pads but I actually prefer this one. The green ones felt a little irritating on me but these are so soft and gentle the perfect calming pad. My brother (guy with normal skin) uses it too and likes it. Makeup compatibility is great no pilling or weird texture. - Skin1004 I loved their serum so I tried the pads. They're soft and tear easily so you can cut them to fit your face. Essence amount is generous and they feel really moist. Performance is on par with the serum no joke. Makeup sits nicely similar vibe to Torriden but maybe a tad more hydrating. - Dermatory This is the hidden gem in calming pads for me. The embossed side is perfect for wiping great for physical exfoliation without being harsh. Better for wipe-off than pack. It calms redness fast and adds tons of moisture. Solid for sensitive reactive skin. Benton is my top pick but honestly all of these are worth trying. Pick based on what you need glow calming or wipe-off power. submitted by /u/peacekimchi to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

[Review] My Top 5 Korean Sunscreens Tested Over 6 Months — Honest Breakdown by Skin Type
I have been testing Korean sunscreens pretty obsessively for the past six months and wanted to share my findings for anyone still hunting for their holy grail. My skin is combination-leaning-oily, I live in a humid climate, and I wear makeup daily. Here is what held up and what did not. **1. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ PA++++** This one gets recommended constantly and for good reason. The texture is almost like a lightweight moisturizer. Zero white cast on my NC25 skin. It layers beautifully under makeup and does not pill. The downside? On my oiliest days it gets shiny by hour 4. I started carrying blotting papers specifically for this one. For dry skin types, this would be close to perfect. - **Finish:** Dewy, slightly glossy - **White cast:** None - **Reapplication:** Easy, no pilling - **Longevity:** 4-5 hours before shine on oily zones - **Rating:** 8.5/10 **2. Roundlab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++** This surprised me the most. I grabbed it on a whim and it became my daily driver for about two months. It has this cooling, hydrating feel that makes mornings less miserable. The formula is slightly thicker than the BoJ but it sinks in fast. Worked great under makeup. My only complaint is that it left a very faint white cast when I applied too much. - **Finish:** Natural, semi-matte - **White cast:** Minimal (noticeable if over-applied) - **Reapplication:** Good, slight tackiness - **Longevity:** 5-6 hours - **Rating:** 8/10 **3. Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++** The name is a mouthful but the product is genuinely impressive. It feels like applying a watery serum, not a sunscreen. Absorbs in seconds. This is the one I reach for when I am in a rush. The trade-off is that it does not feel as moisturizing, so dry skin types might want to layer it over a heavier moisturizer. On me it controlled oil surprisingly well. - **Finish:** Watery, lightweight - **White cast:** None - **Reapplication:** Easiest of the five - **Longevity:** 4 hours (needs reapplication) - **Rating:** 7.5/10 **4. Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++** I really wanted to love this one because this sub has hyped it up. And it is good, genuinely. But on my skin it felt slightly sticky for the first 20 minutes and my foundation did not sit as smoothly on top. On bare-skin days or when I was skipping makeup, it was actually lovely. Very hydrating. I think this is better suited for dry-to-normal skin. - **Finish:** Dewy, hydrating - **White cast:** None - **Reapplication:** Moderate (some pilling over makeup) - **Longevity:** 5 hours - **Rating:** 7/10 **5. COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++** The budget pick. This has been around forever and it holds up. It is not glamorous or exciting but it works. Slight white cast that fades after 5 minutes. The aloe gives it a soothing feel that my skin appreciates after acids the night before. It does have a noticeable sunscreen smell compared to the others. - **Finish:** Natural - **White cast:** Slight, fades quickly - **Reapplication:** Fine - **Longevity:** 5 hours - **Rating:** 7/10 **TLDR:** Roundlab Birch Juice is my overall winner for versatility. BoJ Relief Sun if you want that dewy glow. Skin1004 if you hate sunscreen textures and just want something invisible. Isntree for dry skin. COSRX if you are on a budget and want reliable. Happy to answer questions about any of these or compare with others I have tried. submitted by /u/Express-Length7704 to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

Pale Korean foundations - the ultimate swatch-off
Hi! I've been lurking this subreddit for years and years, and finally I feel like I can contribute with my own pale foundation finds. I'm a neutral-ish undertone redhead gal and let's just say, finding shades is not easy. Here are my best (palest) finds for fellow pale mua's struggling to find something that does not require a white pigment to blend with. Shade and product names also written here to help people find this post and to specify them a little better: Too Faced - Born This Way Matte Foundation in "Cloud" Unleashia - Satin Wear Healthy-Green Cushion in "11N Floral White" TIRTIR - Mask Fit Red Cushion in "10C Shell" (Palest yellowish/warm neutral) Parnell - Cicamanu Serum Cushion "13C Fair" (Palest pink/cool) Espoir - Be Velvet Foundation (bottle version) in "3N Doo Boo" (Palest neutral) The Saem - Cover Perfection Tip Concealer in "0.5 Ice Beige" (Not very pale.) Last picture has also some popular products and shades that were suggested to me on tiktok as "super pale"... That hopefully contextualizes the scale of pale we are talking about here. To keep my "research" going, here are products/shades I am also interested in trying in the future! If you have something from this post and a product from the following list, feel free to post comparison swatches, it would help greatly: ABOUT_TONE - Water Layer Fit Cushion in "#19 Fair" TFIT - Sleek Fit Cover Foundation in "C00 Fair" TIRTIR - Glide & Hide Blurring Concealer in "0.5N" - Last picture products & shades (numbers go in a bit weird order so please pay attention to that sorry!) Korea & Japan Beauty Haul / Shopping Guide
I made a post like this in 2024 and thought I could also share my most recent trip with new insights. My stay in Japan was quite short (2.5 days--was a means to get to Korea for cheaper), and our time in a city for shopping even shorter (1.5) so it was a hustle to get all my tried and true skincare as well as finding new things I was interested in. Japan haul on the left, Korea on the right (Busan, Jeju and Seoul). I live in the US so while I don't condone buying excessive things since you truly only have one face, I don't know when I'll be in Japan or Korea again, and with tariffs, (and my sensitive picky skin) I felt like I had no choice but to stock up. There are also several products here which are going to be gifts. Disclaimer: I don't think topical-only skincare works for everyone. Some people need to alter diet/exercise, some need medication, and some need a combination of everything. I buy products with a targeted reason in mind and look up formulations which are evidence based. I don't buy Shiseido or Shiseido subsidiary products because they have a history of operating in Occupied Palestine. My skin is dry, sensitive, and acne-prone (adult onset acne sadly). I struggle mainly with mild acne flare-ups, stubborn PIE, white heads and dehydrated skin. As per my last post, here are some tips and observations I found in each country for shopping: Japan: Don Quijote - the only reason I went there was because my husband needed electronics. You can get most if not all beauty products found here in any other store if not more variety. Not my fav to shop in. Matsumoto Kiyoshi - my least favorite store because so many damn stairs and usually no option for an elevator! Also the variety here is even smaller than DQ imo. Skip. @ Cosme - I was... underwhelmed. Maybe if I went to the Sunshine City Mall location in Tokyo I would have had a better experience. I felt like it was cool to see all the #1 products in one gigantic place but the variety for skincare and makeup imo wasn't as strong as some other stores (see below). Haircare I feel like was a stronger suit. The Shibuya (main) location just had too many people I think to the point where it was so crowded (in winter even!) so I probably would opt for a different store if I go again. Ainz & Tulpe - I think I went to the one in Shinjuku mall and it had a good selection of products. Definitely less crowded than Cosme. Would go again. Bic Camera - I was only in this baby for a good 5 minutes and these were my last 5 minutes of being able to shop in Tokyo. But I found the Verdio sunscreen (in the white and blue packacing) instantly in the sunscreen aisle which I couldn't find in any other store. Truly felt like god's gift--I've heard it's better for sensitive skin and it meets the fatty alcohol-free criteria for me, so here's hoping! The selection in these everything-under-one-roof store feels truly unmatched. The last time I was here I had a wonderful experience. Welcia - Some of these are open 24/7 which is why I wandered in. I think their cosmetics line-up is quite strong, moreso than skincare and haircare in terms of variety. I was looking for the Primavista cushion and they had it! I don't recall other places I went to having it. I'd go again to Welcias for makeup hunting. Tokyo Handz and Loft - I didn't get to go to these this time but as I said above about BC, heaven on earth for variety. I think Loft probably has the most, I was very sad I couldn't go. Department Stores (Keio, Odakyu) - I've been trying to get more into Japanese makeup, especially mildly higher end. I heard lots of great things about the Decorte foundation (#1 in Japan) so had to snag it. I was so impressed by their foundation range truly! Kanebo concealer also heard lots of great things although it's being finnicky and patchy on my dry skin, but hoping to find ways to make it work. My HG are The Saem/WakeMake. I also bought the Luna and Visee concealer to compare. I also was very tempted to get the RMK foundation but again, I only have one face. Konbinis - So the cute ltravel set you see I found at a Family Mart! Isn't it cute? They had one for another brand aside from Hada Labo, but because most of my skincare routine is HL I thought it was a cute travel pack I will actually use. Korea: Although most of my skincare is Japanese I was still interested in seeing what the skincare trends were here. Loads of PDRN. Mediheal PDRN was sold out in OY (my husband was interested in it more than I was). Now I know I bought 16 new lippies... maybe I have a problem. But I swear there's so many great liptint shades out now, it's so so cool to see the shift in SK. OliveYoung - you trip and fall on a rock and you'll find an OY near your head and one near your feet. They are a dime a dozen but they are not all created equal. That's why I probably had around 5-6 OY trips my 7 days in SK, haha. Overall I think OY is good to see the overall mainstream breadth of Kbeauty, but is not always the best pricepoint nor does it have the cooler indie brands. See below for where to find those. I was unsuccessful in finding the Clio Kill Lash (black tube, one of my favs) in stock at any OY. Disappointing really, so I opted to try the Etude House mascara instead since that seems well-loved. Chicor - WHEN I TELL YOU THIS WAS HEAVEN. Okay so last time I went to SK I don't think they acquired as many brands as they have now. If you're able to go to a Chicor, go! I went to the one in Shinsegae Mall in Busan and I had a blast. They have all the innovative new brands, Laka, Brave, Dinto, Nuegray (sadly they were sold out of the lippie I wanted), About Tone, Alternative Stereo, Muzigae, Oddtype, Mude (I am obsessed with their eyeshadow palette and no OY had them in stock), Hince, Entropy etc. Furthermore, they gave me 3 freebies (2 laka tints, one full one mini, and a mirror keychain). I don't think any OY even gives samples anymore. Seongsu Roadshops - Remember when COVID basically closed down most OG roadshop brands off the face of the earth and OY was a monopoly? Well things are changing now because so many stores have physical locations in this trendy neighborhood. I went to Hince and BBIA because I'm a fan of both brands' products. Dasique and Laka are also a stone's throw away, and I'm sure other brands too--these were just the ones that were on my radar. The nice thing about buying from the brands directly is they'll give you freebies and you can participate in their little activities they have (e.g in Dasique you can make a keychain). For Hince I won a lip & cheek balm and baby I PAID for one of those while living in the US and loved it, so when I got it for free after qualifying with my 30,000won payment, I was ecstatic! Highly recommend just going here directly after your OY general search if you know you're going to buy more than one thing from the same brand/want to do activities for the novelty. Straight to Seongsu! Duty Free - A great option (I had all 4 apps and their variety is in the following order Lotte>Silla>Shinsegae>wall>Hyundai). I ended up getting items from Lotte and Silla for cheaper than I would have gotten if I bought them straight from OY (notably the Espoir and Muzigae lippies, Dasique palette and Allie Sunscreens!). Shinsegae's app is a nightmare and I would have bought a couple things from there if my husband hadn't locked us out of payment on the day of our flight (accidentally put AliPay). You must tread very carefully when picking the right payment option because we couldn't even cancel our order. It autocancelled once our flight was close and the 3-hour window was over. Underground Roadshops - Busan underground (subway) shopping was so much fun. We stayed in the Seomyeon area and they had Innisfree, Holika Holika, The Saem, TCFS and best of all... Aritaum! I was able to pickup the Illiyoon moisturizer there. As one can see I'm a huge Hada Labo Gel fan, and now that Meishoku is obsolete, I need another Ceramide powerhouse. I'm hoping the Illiyoon works for me because I ADORE the fact that it's in a tube and not tub. Furthermore I need to give a shout-out to Holika Holika's eye liner. Their old gel eyeliner (Jewel-light) pencil was the perfect pink-nude with the right amount of shimmer-glitter for that aegyosal pop. They have a new gel eyeliner now in the #5 pure mellow shade which is absolutely divine and is basically the same color. The TCFS stick has gone viral in Korea lately for a very similar color and vibe, but the staying power is no match for Holika Holika. I'm really hoping the new stick performs just as well on my eyes! I also love their Eye-Spanglitter and forgot to pickup some new colors I tested out while in the states, oh well! Innisfree Jeju - Go for the nextdoor cafe/museum at Osulloc, and the tea fields. The skincare/makeup for me is mostly an afterthought, haha. I finally snagged the (pressed) no sebum powder after being into Kbeauty for over 12 years. I feel whole again. :') I wanted an alternative to the Canmake and Flower Knows powder I have for something without color. Brands I didn't find in person in Korea OR Japan that I was looking for (and if given the opportunity to stay longer in either SK/JP will buy online or whenever tariffs end): Japanese: Vitalism Valx Hair Protein and Hair the Protein - Protein Treatment Korean, NINE LESS MELA-PRO 5% Tranexamic Acid Serum, Cos De Baha - unsurprising because I know it's mainly an online brand. But boy are their products good. Thanks for making it to the end with my rambling.
If you want a tldr; -- here's a tier list! submitted by /u/atllauren to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

If you have questions about specific products drop your inquiries below. submitted by /u/Aquamaraqua to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

As a Korean, these are the products I personally recommend.
As a Korean, these are the products I personally recommend. Please note that all of these are based on my own experience and satisfaction, and they may not work the same for everyone. Some people might experience side effects or find them less effective. • Bring Green Zinc Tecca Serum • Round Lab Dokdo Cream (the cream, not the lotion!) • Real Barrier Cream Toner • Dr.G Red Blemish Clear Soothing Active Essence • Bioderma Cicabio Pommade • Numbuzin No.3 Toner & Serum • Rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tint • About Tone Foundation & Cushion • Bioderma Hydrabio Essence Lotion • Abib Mild Acidic Heartleaf Cleansing Foam • TISS Cleansing Oil To be honest, there were many more products I liked than the ones I listed here, but it’s hard to remember each one. To add a bit more, for oily skin types who found barrier creams too heavy, I recommend the Dr. Jart+ Power Derma Barrier Cream. As for hydrating ampoules, I found the Wellage Hydrating Ampoule much better than Torriden. 💕 And if you ever visit Korea, Olive Young is great, but I really hope you also shop for skincare and makeup at Daiso! They carry many of the same brands as Olive Young, but the prices are much cheaper. The most expensive item at Daiso is only around 5,000 KRW (about $3.4). Of course, there may be some differences in volume and ingredients. submitted by /u/Small_Orange_2789 to r/koreanskincare [link] [comments]

[Misc] what are the most stupid, unforgivable skin care mistakes you made?
Sometimes we all follow ridiculously wrong skin care routine, use wrong products, our makeup looks silly, all that. And sometimes, it goes to another level - skin care unforgivable sins! Most of us have been there at least once. I'll start and let me say, with the power of hindsight, I am so ashamed: for years, and I mean 20+, I used soap to wash my face. Why? My mom, who's always had flawless, spotless, almost poreless skin and never even needed a foundation claimed that soap is the best thing to wash your face. An old-fashioned grey household soap to be exact. Now, I have always had acne-prone, mixed of oily and dry skin and while I didn't use grey soap but Dove soap for my face, it was still freaking RIDICULOUS! And only a few months ago when I switched to a very simplified Korean beauty routine (cleanser gel, toner, serum, moisturiser) my skin got without exaggeration 90% better. I'm an idiot to have only come to my senses at almost 42. the other thing is also super gross in hindsight. At some point in 2018 maybe I decided sustainability is my new thing. So, to remove makeup I started using reusable cotton pads. In itself nothing bad, right? The only thing is, I felt it was wasteful to only use them once and wash. So I used them for 3-4 days. By day 2 or 3 they were already basically dirty, and I kept them to dry on the side of my bathroom sink so often they even smelled bad. Gross, gross, gross 😵‍💫 I can't imagine the cocktail of dirt and bacteria I was energetically pressing onto my face (coz I also believed it was nice, natural exfoliation 🤡🤡🤡) If you dare, share the stupid skincare things/habits you did. Don't make me be the only one here 😅 submitted by /u/i_am_nimue to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Routine Help] Could Accutane fix my war against SPF?
Photos dont reveal the true severity, also masked by the temporary effects of antibiotics. 17 British Male (half Bulgarian), oily/normal skin, decent diet, not a lot of sugar, loads of water, never noticed any reaction to dairy, dont smoke, vape nor drink alcohol. After almost 6 months on antibiotics (which I’m still on, Lymecycline 408 mg and doxycycline tried) and trying multiple prescription topicals — Differin, Finacea (which somehow made it worse even when used carefully even beyond the 3 month purge stage) — I’ve been focusing on “barrier repair” simple routines for months now. But honestly, my acne and redness just keep getting worse over time. Current Routine: AM •Rinse face with lukewarm water •Pat dry with a fresh microfiber face cloth •Light mist of hypochlorous acid (baby-safe, low %) •CeraVe PM Moisturising Lotion •Ultra Violette Future Fluid mineral tinted SPF 50+ PM •Remove SPF gently with cotton pad + sensitive micellar water •Rinse with lukewarm water •Apply La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser (leave ~30s, rinse) •Pat dry with a fresh microfiber •Hypochlorous acid → CeraVe PM Supplements: AM (with nut butter 1h+ away from antibiotic): Omega-3 (1g EPA), Vitamin D, Vitamin B-complex (low dose), Vitamin C, Creatine PM: Zinc + Copper, 1-2 Brazil Nuts (selenium), Magnesium Other habits: •Change pillowcase after sleeping on each side once. •Never touch my face or pick. •Peace lily, aloe vera and snake plant in my room (cant have a humidifier sadly due to mold prone walls) SPF has become the absolute bane of my life. I’ve spent well over £100 testing every type — Korean, Australian, French, mineral, hybrid — and they all break me out. Even Ultra Violette Future Fluid, my favourite so far (because the tint masks redness), still causes new breakouts by the end of the day. I’m certain I’m extremely sensitive to: •Chemical sunscreens •Any foundation or concealer •Even pure mineral sunscreens It feels like my skin can’t tolerate anything protective or cosmetic. Accutane Question: Would isotretinoin (Accutane) stop my skin from reacting to sunscreen? I know it should cure the acne itself, but would it also stop the redness, irritation, and breakouts caused by sunscreens and products touching my face? It’s crazy — my mate can literally smear mud on his cheeks and look flawless, while I can’t wear the most “non-comedogenic, sensitive-skin-safe, 100% mineral” SPF without turning into a lumpy tomato. At this point, it’s more of a mental health problem than a skin issue. I can’t focus on exams or gym; it’s all I think about. Accutane feels like the only way out. The NHS are planning to prescribe isotretinoin, but it could take months (likely into 2026) to even get my first appointment — so I’m looking into private treatment because I honestly can’t wait that long. Other issues: persistent red nose and dark under-eyes — but I know those will have to wait until my skin can tolerate treatments again. I just want to get this under control before uni and my A-levels, so I can finally stop thinking about it every waking minute. Also very terrified when I inevitably have to come off antibiotics and my acne returns to its old severity (as happened 1 weeks after the antibiotics were stopped 3 months ago before restarting again) Any advice on: •SPF that might actually work for me, layering technique so it doesn't ruin me as much, reapplication necessary? •Anything wrong in my routine/ things I should change or add •Whether Accutane could fix these SPF reactions and general redness that annoys me more than even the spots •Im pretty much guaranteed to purge on accutane seeing my skin's track record so what can I do to minimise this (antihistamine, milk thistle, NAC?) would mean the world 🙏 submitted by /u/BEBCH0 to r/SkincareAddictionUK [link] [comments]

My korean skincare routine for my "youre not wearing foundation???" skin
I've been asked this question and even more recently, I've noticed my skin being exceptionally clear, bright, and smooth. I think someone could benefit from knowing my routine! Age: 25, female. previously dry, now a bit oily and normal skin. I have many sensitivities to ingredients, so most extracts make me react. Keep in mind that means my routine will be limited to products. I'm even allergic to Centella, so do with this information what you will. I don't regularly wear makeup aside from eyeliner and lip, sometimes blush if I feel fancy. Cleanser: When using makeup or sunscreen, I first cleanse with the Banila Co' cleansing balm. Nothing much to say here, I'm actually allergic to squalane, but this doesn't make my skin react. I don't wear waterproof makeup, so if I am wearing anything, this cleanser does a good job. Nothing too special to note, a very basic and affordable cleanser. Second cleanser: Banila Co's Cleansing Foam. I used to not really care about cleansers, I knew some were better than others, but felt that as long as it wasn't too stripping, it was probably fine. Once I started using this, after about a few days, I noticed my skin was so much clearer, softer, and brighter! Claims to be hydrating, but since it is a cleanser, I don't know how much it will make a difference in that regard. Toner: Round Lab Toner. The first time I started using this, my skin became so much softer. My friend even touched my skin and went "oh your skin is surprisingly soft" (I was going through a breakout at the time). I can't say it does much for hydration, but its softening power is real. 5/5 Serum: Ulooin PDRN Glass Skin Serum. I've been using this for a couple months now. Non-greasy, and I feel it did a good job at helping to fad dark spots. For my dark acne marks however, this is not enough on its own. I do feel that due to continued use and in combination with my other products, it helps with the glow. Cream: Dr.G Intense cream. One thing I really like about this cream is that it's suitable for all seasons, which makes it so convenient. Personally, I enjoy the texture, even though it's not very lightweight, it still feels comfortable when I apply a small amount in the morning and a more generous layer at night. Another reason I keep repurchasing this product is because it comes in a large size and is reasonably priced. I think people with very sensitive skin would especially love it! Cream2: Ulooin PDRN Glass Skin Cream. Compared to Dr. Jart’s Intense Cream, this one has a lighter texture, which makes it perfect for morning use. It also contains salmon sperm extract, which caught my attention because I have freckles and fine lines around my eyes and mouth that used to really bother me. After using this cream consistently, my skin texture has noticeably improved, maybe it’s thanks to this product! What I love most is that the hydration lasts for a long time. Other creams often leave my skin feeling dry again shortly after application, so I don’t usually repurchase them. But with this one, I definitely plan to keep using it. Sunscreen : Dr.Jart's Everyday Sunday. When it comes to sunscreen, I’ve tried so many over the years in hopes of finding the perfect one, and I think I’ve finally settled on Dr. Jart’s Everyday Sunday. I was genuinely surprised that it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all. Another big plus is that it leaves no white cast, which is something I always avoid when choosing a sunscreen. This one is hydrating, absorbs quickly, and feels great under makeup. Now I make sure to apply it every day before putting on any makeup! So there you have it! Feel free to share your experience with any of these products, recommend any others, or an spf (hopefully with no plant ingredients?). I hope this helps someone! submitted by /u/Professional_Day3583 to r/kbeauty [link] [comments]

3 Korean BB creams and 1 cushion foundation swatched (Missha M Perfect Cover No. 13, Missha M Perfect Cover Serum No. 13, Purito Cica Clearing #13, Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion 13N)
Despite loving Korean skincare, I'd never tried Korean makeup before, so I decided to order several popular BB creams and a cushion foundation. I'm not sure if they will be good matches for my skin tone, but I'll try them all anyway. Both of the Missha formulas seem pretty consistent shade-wise, but I can't help but feel that there's just the slightest difference between the two. I'm not educated enough to point out what it could be, or to know if I'm just seeing things. The first Missha BB cream is the classic M Perfect Cover BB Cream in the red tube with a pump. The second one is the newer M Perfect Cover Serum BB Cream in a purple tube, with no pump and less product. I was shocked by how... orange the Purito shade turned out to be. I might end up returning this one. I can't see myself pulling this one off. Too bad, because the formula seems great, and I love Purito as a brand. The Tirtir cushion is more yellow-y than the others, in my opinion. I've had great luck with yellowish neutral shades in the past. But these swatches are still on my arm as I type this, and unfortunately, I can't help but feel that it has oxidized to a more orange shade. It's not as severe as the Purito, but still. Or, again, maybe I'm just seeing things. From top-bottom and left-right: Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream (red tube) in shade 13, Missha M Perfect Cover Serum BB Cream (purple tube) in shade 13, Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream in shade 13, and Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion in #13N Fair Ivory. submitted by /u/confusedpalegirl to r/PaleMUA [link] [comments]

PRODUCTS THAT ARE ACTUALLY WORTH IT FOR ME THIS 2024
Hi - I love reading through this sub and learning about other people's reviews on certain products i may or may not be eyeing to try. I know the struggle of filtering out which products are actually worth buying due to the overwhelming products being released on the market these days and I hope this post helps whoever may find this. I wanted to share products that i have incorporated in my routine that have actually made a difference and will be repurchasing all the time. HAIR CARE- Shiseido Tsubaki Premium Hair Mask - as someone who spent years bleaching and dyeing her hair every month since high school, it took a while for my hair to regrow and heal. I finally decided to invest money on products that would help heal my damaged hair. Being a frugal person, going to the salon was out of the question. I simply do not have the time nor energy to go to a salon every month or few months. I decided to buy the fino and tsubaki hair mask since as per my research, japanese hair care products are top tier and they are IN FACT TOP TIER. I use this once every 4 days and you can immediately see the difference after use. Hair has never felt so soft and smooth. 10000000/10 I don't use conditioner anymore. I feel like hair masks works better and stronger than a regular conditioner. I also feel like it helps me save money since one tub of this hair masks lasts me 4-5 months vs buying a conditioner every month. One scoop is more than enough tbh. tsubaki vs fino - I prefer tsubaki more as it works better for my hair type. Last year, i cut my hair to a bob to get rid of all the damaged/fried ends of my hair. My hair is now around 18-20 inches longer and I think that plays a factor on why the fino hair mask did not work for me. Fino is more suited for people who have bleached and thickened hair. Also --- a runner up for those in a budget, i bought the VitaKeratin Salon Daily Treatment Deep Repair (Black variant) for more or less 200 pesos. this one also works well but you have to apply a generous amount to achieve the effect that tsubaki offers. &Honey Melty Moist Repair Oil - I wasn't too sure about this product at first because my hair does tend to oil up quickly (but then realized i just wasn't taking good care of it back then). I use this regularly and trust me when I say, this gives such a glossy shine and makes my hair look 1000x healthier. On days that I don't use the hair mask, i rely on this one to make it smooth and shiny. A bit expensive as it retails for about 700-900 pesos on the orange app but will last you up to a year. One pump is all you need, trust me. Putting too much will end up looking greasy. MAKEUP - Foundation/Base- I have oily skin and sometimes it does get dry since i use tretinoin at night. I also have a lot of texture/acne scars on my skin as someone who previously suffered from acne for most of my life so I am very particular with makeup. These are the ones that I have impressed me and have made my makeup game so much better and I only use cushion foundations nowadays. Happy Skin Second Skin Dewy Serum Cushion- I previously made a review on the matte variant. I liked that one but I LOVE THE DEWY ONE MORE. One of the things I realized this year is that matte products do not work on me despite being an oily girlie. Whenever i use matte foundations, it looks cakey AF at the end of the day. When i finally caved and tried the dewy variant, i knew i have found my daily make up base. It has a light dewy finish. Makeup blends in my skin seamlessly even when i oil up it just looks like a better version of my skin. Jung Saem Mool Essential Skin Nuder Cushion - GRABE LAKAS MAKA GLASS SKIN!!!!! I use this when i have to go to an event or a night out. It does not break me out. It lasts a long time before my oily skin separates it lol. This has medium coverage with a glowy finish. Only con is that they have a very limited shade range. ( as most korean brands) BLUSH - i have two blushes that have impressed me this year - Lilybyred Luv Beam Cheek Balm in the shade: Innocent Pink - FOR THE IDOL LOOK. I have been on the hunt for a white-ish pink blush and i have finally found it. This lasts me the whole day and very subtle siya but you can build it up. 100000/10 Chu Chu Beauty Multiuse Heart Paint in Pink Bunny - FOR THE GIRLIES WHO NEED PIGMENT. Grabe pigment. Will last you the whole day. One dot is enough. I had very low expectations with this brand but i am impressed with this one. I might buy their powder blush in Miss Dolly. -----a runner up, Absidy's soft cheeks whipped serum blush in Lover. I like this one as well but you to apply multiple layers to see the pigment. POWDER - Absidy's complexion blur translucent perfecting powder in Oat and Petal - very blurring. tbh i've only ever tried a few powders so i wouldn't say this is the best on the market but it doest the job. I use oat for everyday use and petal for when i want to look extra pretty. LIPSTICK - sad to say that i have not found a lippie that i liked. have only been using issy's satin bullet for the whole year and i'm not too sure i'd repurchase. SETTING SPRAY - I have only ever used Charlotte Tilburry and Elf's setting spray and although CT is top-tier. It's just too expensive. ISSY TRUE FLEX ALL DAY SETTING SPRAY - Super happy with this purchase and it's affordable so major plus!! SKINCARE - go to a trusted and certified dermatologist to help you build a regime that will work best for your skin and once you have a solid regime, you can ask for their advice if you want to try out other products to make sure that they won't cancel each other out and won't react badly to other skin care products you are already using. TRUST ME ON THIS!!! It will help save you time, money, energy and will help you build your confidence!!! **I don't use eyeliners, eyeshadows nor mascaras. WELP that's it for me. This is such a long post and if you made it til the end, i greatly appreciate it. Also, please take everything you see on the internet with a grain of salt. These products may have worked and performed well on me but that does not guarantee it will work for you. *pictures are not mine btw. grabbed them from google. submitted by /u/ManufacturerTough386 to r/beautytalkph [link] [comments]

Korean cushions/foundations with wide shade range + dark skin friendly
So we all know the TirTir cushion is the cult’s favorite and they have I think over 180 shades up to date. Well, other Korean brands have started to hop onto this and attempted to globalize their products. Here are some brands that I have found: Parnell Cicamanu Serum Cushion (30 shades) Milktouch Milky Glow Cushion foundation (20 shades) TFIT Radiance Fit Serum foundation (19 shades) Heimish Moringa Ceramide BB Cream (8 shades) Purito Wonder Releaf Centella BB Cream (6 shades) AGE20’s Signature Essence Pact (6 shades) Let me know if there are more! submitted by /u/Working-Ad3305 to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

korean skincare changed skin practically over night
i took Accutane as a teen, and although it healed my acne, my skin has been perpetually dry and dull ever since (over a decade) and i am getting fine lines faster than other people my age. i have tried every brand it feels like, and some things have worked great, while others have made my skin so much worse. about 8 months ago i got the Peach & Lily ultra plush rich cream and loved it! i felt like my skin transformed after just a few days, so i decided to lean completely into the Korean skincare and slowly replaced my routine to only k-beauty. my skin has never looked better! i am glowy all day, even at the end of a long day with no skincare refresh. fine lines are decreasing, i never have that tight feeling, i even get asked what foundation I'm wearing when i am not wearing an ounce of makeup and people don't believe me! best part, i have only been using these products for 2 months and already have these dramatic results. i highly recommend doing Korean skincare brands that are also clean like Peach & Lily. for more affordable, Good Molecules and Knours have been just as good for toners and cleansers. but for moisturizers and serums, nothing is better than P&L IMO. honorable mention, those viral collagen masks, they are 100% worth the hype submitted by /u/lesbianagrande777 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Reddit's 5-day Challenge in 5 minutes on the Solana mainnet. No sharding, no Layer-2! Hey everyone, I’m Raj Gokal from the Solana Foundation. Solana tackled the Scaling Bake-Off this week and completed the entire 5-day challenge in around 5 minutes for less than $5 USD. Here are the benchmarks of our challenge: Solana completed token minting in under 2 seconds across 64 threads; Solana completed 204,800 token transfers and point claims in 3 minutes, 20 seconds; Solana burned 75,520 tokens in 46 seconds; All while running on Solana’s mainnet across 130 geographically-distributed validators. If you’re a geek, you can run this demo for yourself on our mainnet. You can even parallelize it on as many machines as you want and run it on mainnet. 11 Sunscreens for Sensitive Skin at Low Price Point (Mega Review + Photos!) [Review][Sun Care]
Sunscreens for Sensitive Skin at Low Price Point (with Photos!) I usually post over on /r/Tretinoin, but the good people of that subreddit have encouraged me to post my reviews in SCA as well, so here we are! I've had a lot of fun trying new sunscreens this summer in the hunt for The Perfect One. I've been on retinoids (Differin, Adapalene 0.3%, then Tretinoin 0.025%) since March 2018, and have used SPF 50 every single day. I have desert-dry, sensitive skin with minor rosacea (subtype one) and PIE leftover from acne. My selection criteria are as follows: Low Price Point (I aimed for under $15 per bottle, with two exceptions) Easily Accessible (available via drugstores or major online venues, e.g. Amazon, Dokodemo, Yesstyle, Ebay) Marketed for Sensitive Skin (this varies by brand) At Least SPF 50 (generally regarded as "good enough" for most people, even Tret users) MY METHOD I work from home, so I have the luxury of not worrying about sunscreen or makeup in the morning. I cleanse and moisturize, then wait until later in the day to apply my sunscreen. I treated each sunscreen exactly the same: I measured out a half teaspoon, applied on every inch of my face (up to my hairline, down my neck and décolletage, around the back of my neck, on my ears, lips, and eyelids), then reapplied a little extra to the high points of my face. All of these were applied over my morning moisturizers (FAB ultra repair cream, rosehip oil, sometimes Stratia LG). I don't want a sunscreen that I need to be fussy with or careful to keep out of my eye area. I want something cosmetically elegant that I can glob on everywhere and have it just work. My dog and I go on our hour-long walk around 5pm every day, when it's cooler and the UV index is lower (under 5). We live in a hot, humid climate (American South) with temperatures up to 95 degrees and humidity above 50% almost every day. There's always a chance of rain in the summertime. I don't tend to sweat a lot, but my hair does get uproariously frizzy. I took each of the outdoor photos at the beginning of our walk, after the sunscreen had set but before it could degrade at all. The indoor photos were taken after we got back home and cooled off a bit for lighting comparison (bathroom lighting). I'm particularly interested in how these sunscreens wear, and whether they hold up to heat, sweat, and other environmental factors. Reapplication is part of life, but I also want a sunscreen that pulls its weight! If a sunscreen did not work for me, I traded it over to Team Body Sunscreen or gave it away to a friend. I don't believe in waste, and sunscreen is still useful even if it doesn't agree with my face. Group Photo of the Whole Squad Together! THE REVIEWS Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk Blue Bottle, SPF 50+, PA++++ Active Ingredients: Nano Zinc Oxide, Octinoxate, Uvinul A Plus Japanese, Alcohol Free, Fragrance Free Moisturizing combination liquid sunscreen that contains hydrating ingredients (hyaluronic acid and collagen). It takes a few minutes to dry down and can get a bit messy/drippy, but it’s worth the effort. This sunscreen looks and feels better than any other I’ve tried. I especially like that it cooperates when you apply multiple layers, and it plays nicely when I apply makeup on top. The pink bottle version contains alcohol and brightening ingredients, while the blue one is the better choice for sensitive skin (it's identical to the old gold bottle from 2018). I'm finishing up my tenth bottle and (sadly) do not plan to repurchase. After the streaky UV photos from a couple months ago on SCA, I have some doubts about the protection this product offers, so I'm going to stop using this as my everyday. Photos Here Buy it on Amazon ($14 for 40 mL) or Dokodemo ($13) Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 50, PPD 19.2/PA++++ Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide American, Reef Safe, Vegan, and Cruelty Free Soft, creamy, clay-like mineral/physical sunscreen that dries to a powdery finish. Superpower level of mattifying on oily skin. It is slightly pink-tinted, and provides coverage comparable to a medium foundation (somewhere around Mac NW15 to NW25 if I had to guess). It dries down in 10 minutes, then it’s exercise- and water-resistant for 80 minutes. This one has serious staying power and usually takes a double cleanse (oil or micellar water followed by regular cleanser) to remove completely. It does dry out my lips (see the picture) and can be irritating on my undereye area, especially if I wasn't careful to layer my moisturizers beforehand. Best in this list for outdoor sports or hiking. This is my eighth bottle of this sunscreen, mainly becuase it's sold at my regular grocery store and it's an excellent shade match for my skin tone so I don't need to worry about blending it in. I also have the UNTINTED version of this sunscreen, which I've been trying in desperation to use up for over a year. This is the ultimate sunscreen if you want ghost face. When I tried it the first time, my husband asked if I was wearing "geisha makeup" (he might have been joking, but my lord was the white cast bad). Try as I might, this does not work for body or face. It's real bad. Photos of the AG Tinted Here Buy it on Amazon ($11 for 89 mL), Walgreens/CVS ($13), or in grocery stores Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV, SPF 50+, PA++++ Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Uvinul A Plus, Uvinul MC80, Tinosorb S Japanese, Alcohol Free, Fragrance Free, Paraben Free, Silicone Free, and Cruelty Free (not Vegan!) This combination sunscreen doubles as a makeup primer and makes you glow! It has a gel texture, is easy to spread around, and dries to a clear, dewy finish with zero white cast and a slightly tacky feel. I waited around a bit and the tackiness did go away after about half an hour. As a highlighter addict, I love that it makes me glow, and it lets me skip the primer step when I put on makeup. When I put makeup on top, it amplifies the colors and gives everything a nice shimmer to it. I usually use an illuminating primer as my base (Missha BB Boomer) but this more than takes its place. I've finished the first bottle, will definitely repurchase, and plan to give bottles to my sisters-in-law as birthday gifts. I only wish the little bottles were bigger! Photos Here Buy it on Amazon ($9 for 40 mL) or Dokodemo ($8) Amavara Tinted Transparent Mineral Sunscreen, SPF 50 (PA/PPD unknown) Active Ingredients: Non-Nano Zinc Oxide American, Reef Safe, Vegan, and Cruelty Free Thick, non-greasy sunscreen with the texture of wet clay. This one is mainly included to give the Australian Gold tinted sunscreen a comparison point. It is slightly olive-tinted, while the Australian Gold is cool/pink toned. It dries to a matte finish, and can be slightly drying if you have dry skin. It is water-resistant for 80 minutes. There are several reviews from surfers on the Amazon page that vouch for its staying power. My mom originally bought this for herself, but the shade wasn't a good match for her so she gave it to me... even though we wear the same foundation shade. I'm giving this one away to an olive-toned friend. Rather than wearing this on my face, I decided it would be more useful to do swatches of the AG Untinted, AG Tinted, and this Amavara one Buy it on Amazon: $35 for 70 mL Sonrei Sea Clearly Translucent Gel Sunscreen SPF 50 (PA/PPD unknown) Active Ingredients: Homosalate, Octocrylene, Octisalate, Avobenzone American, Fragrance Free, Alcohol Free, Paraben Free, Reef Safe, Vegan, Gluten Free (Contains Palm Oil as First Ingredient) I'll be honest: I bought this when I was drunk. I was browsing Into the Gloss and found an article about sunscreen for people who don't like sunscreen. I had never heard of this brand before, but the antioxidant-rich formula caught my eye. It contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Ferulic Acid (the same combo in several top Vitamin C serums), albeit at the end of the ingredients list. If the antioxidants in this product are actually effective, it would be an EXCELLENT morning multitasker and would solve my problem of finding a Vit C product that I actually like using. I reached out to the customer service team to ask about the PA/PPD rating, and received this email in response in less than 12 hours. It seems like they're really dedicated to the efficacy of their products and if I decide to repurchase I'll definitely check back to see their new test results. The texture of this sunscreen is unlike any of the others on this list. It's thick and difficult to squeeze out of the tube. Once it's out, it looks like apricot jam with texture that feels almost exactly like vaseline. As I worked it into my face it melted and broke down into a thick oil, not unlike olive oil. There was little scent, but it irritated my eyes anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did indeed dry down completely clear, if a bit uneven, and the greasiness mostly went away. I've included photos of it freshly applied and 20 minutes later when it was dry for comparison. As I walked around outside and sweated, it started to run down my face -- not okay when the UV index is 7! I do not think this one is a good match for me, but I thought of an alternate use for it: It performs beautifully as a brow gel to tame my unruly eyebrows! With the huge bottle I'll have enough to last the rest of my life (or until it expires). Swatch + Photos Outside, Inside/Wet, and Inside/Dry Buy it on the Sonrei website: $25 for 3.4 oz Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sun, SPF 50+, PA++++ Active Ingredients: Uvinul A, Uvinul T 150 Korean, Fragrance Free, Alcohol Free, Vegan, Cruelty Free 70% water base, hyaluronic acid, and four different types of “green” essences, it works like a moisturizing, calming cream. The “green” ingredients are derived from centella asiatica, a medicinal herb that hydrates, promotes wound healing, treats eczema/dermatitis, and reduces inflammation. There is another version of this product that contains essential oils and fragrance – this unscented one is the "safer" version for sensitive skin. This one is frequently compared to the Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence, which I did not include in this review because of the price. I noticed a subtle green-correcting effect when I wore this; it helped to calm down redness and make it less noticeable. It's not as pronounced as the Dr Jart+ Tigergrass or Cica products (which are literally green-tinted), but I think it makes a difference. The finish is pearlescent (not shiny, just a nice healthy dewiness) and it works well under makeup. My skin was noticeably calmer, less red, and less reactive, even at the end of a full day of wear. This has become the sunscreen I reach for most often (even more than my beloved Skin Aqua milk!) and I've already repurchased two additional bottles. Photos From Three Days of Wear Buy it on Amazon ($15 for 60 mL), YesStyle ($14), or Jolse ($15) Purito Comfy Water Sun Block, SPF 50+, PA++++ Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide, Non-Nano Zinc Oxide Korean, Reef Safe, Alcohol Free, Silicone Free, Vegan, Cruelty Free (Contains Essential Oils) This is the mineral version of the one directly above. I heard about it from Gothamista's 2019 mineral sunscreen review video. The formula has 70% water, hyaluronic acid, and centella asiatica. That review described it as "highly hydrating, soothing, and disappears immediately into the skin with a silk, skin-like finish." My experience was COMPLETELY different. This was hands-down the most disappointing sunscreen I tried. When I first squeezed it out of the tube, I was hit with strong fragrance. This has orange peel oil, tea tree oil, and lavender oil. It smelled like I walked into a Bath & Body Works aromatherapy sale circa 2008. Eyes watering, I attempted to apply it the usual way (rubbing it in) and found that it wasn't cooperating at all. I switched to patting, which was somehow even worse. It never sank into my skin; instead it balled up and got even drier. The more I worked on it, the worse it got. It was like trying to rub zinc diaper cream into my face. There was no way to achieve anything close to even coverage. I didn't even leave the bathroom, I had to wash it off right away! In the interest of full disclosure, my experience runs contrary to every other review I read about this product -- everyone else seems to have no problem getting it to blend in and most describe the scent as "subtle" or "refreshing." I ordered this and the Green Level sunscreens from the Purito storefront on Amazon, and received a handful of legit-looking Purito foil samples with my order. I don't think this is a fake, so I think it must be the result of a bad batch. Honestly, this was so disappointing that I'm not going to order the unscented version (newly released in August). If you want to try this out, definitely go for the unscented one! Indoor-Only Photos Buy it on Amazon ($15 for 60 mL), YesStyle ($15), or Jolse ($15) Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk, SPF 50+, PA+++ Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide Korean, Contains Alcohol This physical sunscreen starts as a thick white cream, and the marketing says it dries clear with a matte finish. The alcohol evaporates quickly, making this sunscreen one of the fastest-drying (under a minute). It contains aloe and centella extract (soothing ingredients) to help balance the drying effect of the alcohol. I found that it tended to clump up on the baby hairs on my face and neck, and the white cast only increased as it settled on my face. In one picture I have a lovely white moustache and a streaky white neck, and in another photo there are visible white lines where it creased on my eyelids. In the "indoor" photo you can see how ghastly I looked after being outdoors for half an hour. After several hours of wear my skin was dry, red, and not happy. I struggled to use this up on my arms and legs because of the clumping and white cast, but eventually emptied the bottle. Will not repurchase. Photos Here from Two Separate Days Buy it on Amazon ($10 for 55 mL) or Jolse ($12, shipping from Korea) Missha All-Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel, SPF 50+, PA+++ Active Ingredients: Homosalate, TEA-Salicylate, Escalol 517, Tinosorb S, Amiloxate, Octocrylene Korean, Contains Alcohol This chemical sunscreen is absolutely invisible on the skin, and you can even double or triple layer it without looking like a zombie. Water- and sweat- resistant, which makes it a good option for outdoor activities. The potential downside is the alcohol content (fifth ingredient) which supposedly evaporates upon application and helps it dry down more quickly, similar to the Etude House one above. This one was extremely irritating for me -- my PIE and rosacea flared up immediately, and the alcohol sting did not abate as I wore it. My skin felt tight and warm until I was able to wash it off. I used this exactly twice, and will not repurchase. I gave this bottle to my husband to keep in his work bag. Photos Here Buy it on Amazon ($15 for 50 mL), YesStyle ($11), or Jolse ($13) Walgreens Sensitive Skin Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 (PPD/PA unknown) Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide, Octocyrlene American, Fragrance Free, Oil Free This combo sunscreen is extremely cheap (it's a HUGE bottle) and free from oxybenzone and avobenzone -- but that's pretty much all it has going for it. It goes on chalk white, but with a little work it rubs in mostly clear but never dries down completely. My face was shiny and my eyes streaming from the burning feeling on my skin. The label claims it's water resistent for 80 minutes, but it started dissolving just minutes after I went outdoors and started to sweat. As it melted off my face, I looked greasier than ever. I'm also not convinced that the filters (5% zinc, 4% octocrylene) are high enough for this to be effective for us photosensitive folks. I've relegated this one to Team Body Sunscreen, and will not repurchase. Photos Here Buy it at Walgreens ($11 for 236 mL or 8 oz) in the U.S. I'm sure there's a CVS generic equivalent product as well. Vanicream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (PPD/PA unknown) Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide American, Reef Safe, Alcohol Free, Fragrance Free, Lanolin Free, Paraben Free When I first started my retinoid routine, my dermatologist told me to go to the drugstore and pick up Vanicream everything. It's her go-to brand for people with sensitive skin, and it's easy to see why. Vanicream is very concerned with avoiding "harmful chemicals," so most of their ingredients lists are short and the products are no-frills. Like any all-mineral American sunscreen, it goes on chalk white and takes a good amount of elbow grease to work into my skin -- "grease" being the operative word. The white cast mostly went away, but I was still a little pallid a couple hours later. It leaves me slightly sticky/tacky until it dries completely (takes about 20 minutes) and after that happens it's bulletproof. It claims to be water-resistant for 80 minutes and it is absolutely correct: no amount of rain, tears, or chlorinated water can make this stuff budge. Like the Australian Gold one above, it takes a thorough two-step cleanse to remove at night, and balms/oils perform better than micellar water or makeup remover. Indoor Photos Here (I didn't make it outside that day!) Buy it at Walgreens/CVS/Drugstores ($15 for 113 mL or 4 oz) or Amazon ($17) TOP PICKS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Best for Sensitive or Reactive Skin: Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk Blue Bottle (combination) or Vanicream Sunscreen (mineral) Best for Oily Skin: Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen Lotion (mineral) or Missha All-Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel (chemical) Best for Dry Skin: Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sun (chemical) Best for Under Makeup: Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV (combination) If anyone wants additional swatches, comparisons, or whatever -- let me know! I've still got every single one of these in my bathroom waiting to be used up in one way or another. Also, if anyone spots an error or can fill in missing information (such as PA/PPD data) please let me know! I'm happy to edit this post to supplement my impressions. Side Note: I had to take a longish break in the middle of my testing because of an eczema outbreak on my left cheek and jaw. You can see it in a couple of the photos (kind of looks like a mosquito bite). I stopped all new products and went back to a bare-bones routine, then eventually had to use a mild steroid treatment to clear up the eczema. This doesn't usually happen outside of the winter months, but all's fair in love and skincare. submitted by /u/caffeinatedlackey to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Fallout 76 Patch Notes – December 11, 2018
Hi everyone, Please find the full list of patch notes below for today's PC (and Thursday's console) update. These are also available on fallout.com. Patch Version: Download sizes for this update will be approximately 5GB for consoles, and around 3GB for PC. PC: 1.0.3.10 Highlights C.A.M.P. Construction Improvements: Small obstructions will now be automatically removed when you place objects on top of them, allowing you to more easily build when and where you want. C.A.M.P. Placement Improvements: You will now be notified when you log into a world and your current C.A.M.P. location is occupied by another player. If you stay in that world, you can place your C.A.M.P. back down for free. If you decide not to place your C.A.M.P. and join a new world where your space is unoccupied, it will be automatically placed in its original spot. SPECIAL Re-speccing: Upon reaching level 51, and every level thereafter, you’ll be able to choose whether you want to unlock a new Perk Card or reallocate one SPECIAL point. Push-to-Talk: We’ve implemented a push-to-talk hotkey for Voice Chat on PC so that you can decide when to speak up and when to remain silent. New PC Settings: We’ve added Field of View and Depth of Field sliders so that you can further customize your view in-game. 21:9 Resolution Support: On PC, you can catch an even wider view from those gorgeous Appalachian vistas, because Fallout 76 now supports monitors that use 21:9 aspect ratios. General Performance: Several improvements have been made to in-game performance. Stability: The Fallout 76 game client and servers have received additional stability improvements. Art Lighting: Exposure values have been adjusted for exterior environments, allowing them to appear brighter in dark conditions. Balance Loot: .308 Ammo dropped by creatures has been reduced. Players will now receive .308 Ammo in stacks of 1 – 5, rather than up to 12 for a single kill. Loot: Super Mutants will now drop Gunpowder half as often, and the chance for additional loot has been reduced. Caps are guaranteed loot on Super Mutants until level 16. Scorchbeast Queen: Will now land on the ground more often. Workshops: Players no longer gain XP when crafting at a public Workshop. C.A.M.P., Crafting, and Workshops NEW – Automatically remove obstructions in C.A.M.P.s: Rocks, small trees, and other small objects no longer prevent players from building items in those locations. These obstructions are now automatically removed upon constructing objects and structures in C.A.M.P., such as Foundations. Placing an object to remove an obstruction and then removing that object, will cause that obstruction to reappear after some time or upon logging back in. NEW – C.A.M.P. placement improvements: A notification will now be displayed to players upon logging into a world if their current C.A.M.P. location is occupied by someone else. If they choose to remain in that world, they will be able to place their C.A.M.P. in a new location for free. Alternatively, if the player decides not to place their C.A.M.P. in a new location, and instead joins a new world, their C.A.M.P. will be automatically placed back in its original location—as long as that spot is unoccupied. Additional C.A.M.P., Crafting, and Workshop updates: C.A.M.P.: The percentage of a C.A.M.P.’s Budget that is being taken up by stored items and Blueprints will now appear in the Budget bar. C.A.M.P.: While in build mode, players can now toggle the left joystick on controllers, or press “Q” on PC, to switch view between objects that can be built and those that cannot. Windmill: The power produced by the Windmill has been increased from 3 to 12. Workshops: Players can now purchase Atomic Shop items directly from the Workshop menu. Progression NEW – SPECIAL Re-speccing: Every time a player levels-up after level 50, they can now choose whether to unlock a new Perk Card or transfer one previously allocated SPECIAL point from one category to another. This change is not retroactive for characters that have already progressed beyond level 50 but will apply to every level-up they achieve going forward. If a player chooses to reallocate a SPECIAL point on leveling-up, they will be unable to select a new Perk Card for that level, and vice-versa. Re-speccing details have also been added to the “Perks” section of the in-game Help menu. Quests Event Quests: A 15-minute cooldown timer has been added at the end of each Enclave Event Quest. Event Quests: XP reward amounts have been reduced for the following Event Quests: Fertile Soil, Collision Course, Tea Time, Guided Meditation, Distinguished Guests, Battle Bots, Line in the Sand, Protest March, Grafton Day, Patrol Duty, Jailbreak, Back on the Beat, and Feed the People. User Interface NEW – Push-to-Talk Setting (PC): A Push-to-Talk setting has been added for Voice Chat, and is set to the Caps Lock key by default. The “Toggle Always Run” hotkey, which used to be set on Caps Lock, has been moved to the “/” key by default. Both the Caps Lock and “/” hotkeys can be rebound in the Controls Menu. Additionally, various 21:9 resolutions can be selected in the game’s display settings menu. Additional User Interface Updates: AFK Timer: The timer that disconnects players after a period of inactivity in-game has been increased from 10 to 30 minutes, and the warning prompt will now display 3 minutes, rather than 1 minute, prior to being disconnected. Atomic Shop: Items that have recently been added to the Atomic Shop now display a “New” icon, and new items will now sort to the front of their associated subsections. Atomic Shop: Item subtitles in the Atomic Shop have been moved to the top of item images. Compass: Maximums have been implemented for each type of marker that can appear in the compass, and up to 60 markers in total can be visible at once: -------> Up to 10 markers each for quests, locations, hostile players, and enemies. ------->Up to 8 markers each for neutral players and targeted enemies. ------->Up to 4 markers for teammates. ------->Players can still use their Pip-Boys to toggle tracking off for individual quests if they’d prefer to reduce them amount of quest markers in the compass, and on-screen. [SELL][CAN to CAN/US] It Cosmetics, Estee Lauder, Jeffree Star, Pur Minerals, Bare Minerals, Lancome, Clinique, Bite, and lots more. Lots of pale NC10-15 foundations, skincare (incl. korean skincare), and lipsticks!
Back yet again lol. This purge is neverending! Shipping from Ottawa, Canada; willing to meet local if you're from here. I do my best to show usage in my photos but please let me know if you have any concerns. I want this stuff GONE, PLEASE NEGOTIATE. All items marked 1$/FWP are indeed one buck or FWP. (Just be aware, shipping is not cheap up here. Even most lipsticks are too thick to go the cheap way.) All prices in USD. Canadians that want to pay using CAD are welcome to. Verification: here PICTURE 1 It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration Palette. Very lightly used, the logo is still visible on most shades. I love it, but it turns out that I have too much eyeshadow and too many bills. 25$ It Cosmetics Vitality Flush Colour Stick in Je Ne Sais Quoi 5$ It Cosmetics Tightline Black Eyelash Primer - this is pretty old, not going to lie, so it's 1$/FWP an unnamed kabuki type brush, 1$/FWP Pur Minerals Dip Draw Dust foundation brush, brand new 3$ 10 day supply of Estee Lauder Double Wear in 1N1 (part of gift set below, but willing to sell separately) 1$/FWP Loreal True Match in W1 Porcelain, full almost to neck of bottle 2$ MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC10 - the colour's a perfect match but it's too full coverage for me, and I left it too long to return because I was so excited about finally having a matched foundation. It's hard to tell how full it is but I'm guesstimating about half a centimetre from the top of the bottle? Ish? 15 USD bareMinerals BareSkin in Bare Porcelain - RIS, not much left, it's probably around an NC15 since it's too dark for me; 1$/FWP Nyx HD Studiop Photogenic Foundation in HDF101 Nude - Porcelain - same story, tried once, forgot to return. 5 USD PICTURE 2 Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lip in Masochist - this is waaaayyyy darker on my lips than I expected.
