Am I not using Skyscanner & Google Flights properly?
Booking a flight from MNL - HKG. This is a regular work trip (2x per year). Never before used Skyscanner or Google Flights to check for cheapest rates. Took notes that when using either, best to book at the airline website pa rin. Upon checking, lumalabas na cheapest si Cebu Pac (not including HK Express), pero pwede rin PAL. Pero kapag nag checheck ako sa mga websites (using Incognito Mode na rin), ang laki ng talon ng prices from what was projected on skyscanner. Ang ending? Cheapest si Cathay Pacific. Am I using skyscanner/Google Flights wrong? Should I be booking with the third party apps like ly.com and trip.com instead for the good prices? Or should I trust my direct airline checking and go with Cathay Pacific (business flight after all). submitted by /u/PastRatio8676 to r/FilipinoTravel [link] [comments]

Is there a “Skyscanner Everywhere” (with prices) search but for trains or buses in Europe?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a tool similar to the “Everywhere” search on Skyscanner, but for trains (and ideally buses). The idea would be: – enter a departure city (e.g. Berlin) – choose a specific date or month – and see the cheapest destinations you can reach by train or bus. Basically something that inspires spontaneous weekend trips by showing cheap connections to cities you might not have thought about. I’ve already found tools like Trainline, Omio, Rome2Rio, etc., but those require you to enter a specific destination first. What I’m looking for is more like: “From Berlin → show me the cheapest train destinations in Europe next weekend.” I found an older Reddit thread asking something similar (from a few years ago), but I was wondering if new tools have appeared since then. Does something like this exist? Thanks! submitted by /u/Far_Produce_1270 to r/travel [link] [comments]

Outrageous flight cancellation fee
I booked a round trip flight from Austin, Tx to Amsterdam. I paid $5,923 USD round trip. I’m now looking to extend my trip to Dublin. I was looking online at changing my flight but it I couldn’t find how to change or cancel the second half of my trip. I wanted to used my credit for the Ams-Aus flight on a Dublin-Aus flight. Then my plan was as to buy another one way flight from Ams-Dublin. A general online searched showed a flight from Dublin to Austin on the day that I need for $4,000 USD for Delta one service. I reached out to Delta support through chat and asked if I could change the second half of my trip and take the Dub-Aus flight instead of the Ams-Aus flight. They quoted me $14,000! I asked what my credit would be if I just canceled the Ams-Aus trip and was told that I would owe Delta $7,111! I couldn’t believe but the rep confirmed if I canceled half of the trip that I paid $5,900, I would owe the $7k. I commented that it was insane and the rep gave some generic answer about supply and demand, blah blah. It no way does it make sense for me to cancel half the trip and owe them more than I paid for nthe whole trip!! submitted by /u/Nothingchangesme to r/delta [link] [comments]

Why are flights $40 cheaper on external sites (Google Flights, Skyscanner, etc.) than United's app?
I'm looking at piecing together a trip thru a few different airports and I keep seeing 1 ways that are $205 on third party sites like Google flights. When I open my United app, the same exact flight is $245. That's a pretty steep increase in price. Even with the points I get from my card, its still more expensive adding up over 2 one ways. I've got the United mileage plus card, so I get a free checked bag. If I book the flight on a third party site, do I still get all the points? Or do I only get the points booking through the United app? Why is the price so different? submitted by /u/bringbackbainesy to r/unitedairlines [link] [comments]

[Website] I built an airfare-deals bot for myself last year, and I’ve finally made it public. (Free)
I used to search on Skyscanner, Google Flights, and other websites every morning to find good deals. I’m pretty flexible with dates and can generally travel whenever I find a good deal. At some point, I got bored with this “routine” and decided to automate it. It took me a few weeks, but eventually I stopped spending my mornings on travel websites and started relying on the bot’s results. This December, I had some time and decided to build a web interface for the bot. Initially, I wanted to make it more accessible for my friends, but then something clicked in my mind: why not make it available to everyone? Anyway, I already pay for hosting, so there’s no harm in sharing it with other people. As a bonus, I can get insights from people who can objectively criticize it, since my friends are too kind to do so. Of course, it’s free—no ads or affiliate links. Feel free to use the deals on the website as a reference and book tickets wherever you like—official websites or your favorite travel agency. submitted by /u/Character-Rough2199 to r/canadadeals [link] [comments]

Skyscanner for padel court booking 🎾
Hey everyone, I play padel regularly and, like many of you, have struggled to find and book courts in the UK. That frustration led me to co-found www.Playskan.com — a free, no-sign-up website that aggregates live court availability and open matches from all platforms (e.g. Playtomic, Clubspark, MyCourts, Matchi, Padel Mates) into one place. Think of it like Skyscanner, but for padel courts — no more endless tab-hopping or app-juggling. We’re already seeing a lot of traction in the UK, Paris, and Rome, and now we’d love to hear from the wider padel community: What features or additional filters would make it even more useful? Are there any pain points in booking or match finding that we could help solve? Where should we expand to next? (Which countries or cities are most in need of something like this?) Our goal is to make price transparency and court availability accessible to everyone and to highlight clubs that aren’t always on the mainstream booking platforms. Ultimately, we just want to bring padel to the people. 🎾 Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions for where we should go next! submitted by /u/Sazza_f to r/padel [link] [comments]

I used to always use Skyscanner to book my flights or at least to search for flights. Sometimes to search for deals to random locations but usually just for when I had a specific place to go. But now instead of giving options for the place I am trying to go, it gives me random cities. For example, I want to go to Stockhom, Sweden and it is giving me deals for Tampa, Florida (???) Back in April I posted here praising Skyscanner for hosting a zoom call with those accepted onto the graduate engineering scheme. On the call they told us our jobs were safe despite the pandemic, and even sent us a form to complete asking if we wanted to work in frontend or backend. This facade was kept up in the Slack chat, until executives suddenly decide to ghost us. No one would ever respond in the Slack chat from the company, and purposely keep us in the dark. Today, 3 months later, I got an email saying the grad scheme has been cancelled. This is of course gutting. If they told us 3 months ago that we wouldnt have jobs, then we could have joined other grad schemes or spent these 3 months finding new roles. Some people are mid way through moving to new countries, or getting flats in new cities. This whole situation really sucks, but I cant help but think Skyscanner should have addressed it a lot earlier and been way more open. To to answer my original post 3 months ago - yes. Its one big bamboozle. submitted by /u/csthrowaway244555 to r/cscareerquestions [link] [comments]
