Screen protector recommendation - mine failed twice!
Hey! I bought the iPad Pro M5 and used the JETtech Screen protector. Installed it as usual - and it didn‘t capture the swipe up gesture to unlock the iPad. Ok - so I installed the 2nd one - same behavior. Bought one from ESR - exact same thing. I never had any problems with screen protectors. Used the same brands on iPads, iPhones and even the Steam Deck - no issues. I tried it on another iPad Pro M5 - because I thought it may be the iPad - still the same issue. I am not reading a lot of problems on this - can someone recommend a working screen protector- preferably available in Europe? Thanks submitted by /u/QPQDriver to r/iPadPro [link] [comments]

Any steam deck travel essentials?
I have a long flight ahead of me in a month and I’m looking to see if I need anything for my deck. I bought a d brand traveling case as well as a screen protector. Is there any portable chargers that will charge the deck (I plan on playing the Spider-Man games most the time on the flight) that works well with it? Any headphones? As someone who used the Steam Deck as a gateway into PC gaming, this is how I feel...
I managed to get my hands on a Steam Deck OLED 1TB model just before they went out of stock, and to cut to the chase, I am VERY glad I went ahead and bought one when I did. I am practically addicted to this thing, it has replaced all of my other systems (XBOX Series X, PS5, and Switch) since I got it. I have always wanted to get into PC gaming because of the freedoms that comes with it, as well as the Steam sales, and the Steam Deck was (and still technically is, for now) the cheapest gateway. It may not be the most powerful PC, or even the most powerful handheld PC, but for whatever you're getting, I'd say it is more than worth it. Before I got my hands on the Steam Deck, my Steam library was just a limited selection of maybe 20 games that could all be played on the lowest of low-end laptops. Now, I am at a little over 100 games thanks to Steam sales, all of which I was able to get running at acceptional to exceptional performances. 6th & 7th Gen games have never looked better in my eyes, all since I've been playing on console for as long as I can remember. 8th Gen games run surprisingly well without too much compromise (depending on the game), and that was the biggest surprise for me personally. Current Gen games are a different story, as I only have a couple of them and I was VERY careful with what I bought. I didn't want to buy a game and it turned out to not work on the Deck very well. The most power intensive games in my library would have to be Baldur's Gate 3 and Halo Infinite. BG3 runs pretty damn well, especially since Larian updated the game for Steam Deck compatibility not too long ago. Halo Infinite was rough to get running at first, but eventually I got it running at 60 FPS with low settings. Even with low settings, the game still looks good, but that may just be because it's on a handheld (you tend to notice that games running on a smaller screen appear better than it actually is). The biggest standout of the Steam Deck is the freedom, and that cannot go understated. Most PC gamers would probably be familiar already, but as someone who got into PC gaming with this thing, the freedoms that come with it are a breath of fresh air. I can make tweaks, enhancements, and install pretty much any mod I want into almost any game in my library. That comes in handy with games that had botched PC ports that the community had to fix themselves, or games like Skyrim which have mods that you can only play with on PC. I still have a lot more games I want to get for this thing, I have the external dock coming in tomorrow as of posting this, I plan to get a screen protector next chance I get, and I am hopeful that I will have more fun with this thing for years to come... submitted by /u/J3553-A to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]

I always see people asking about cases or showing off custom skins on their steam deck. How many of you keep it plain jane and naked? I have an OLED and haven't put a case or screen protector on it. Coming from the SteamDeck.
I only had the base steamdeck not the oled version, but honestly I grew out of it so fast, the clunkyness and the cheap plastic made me turn off from The device in all. I’ve been watching videos on the Odin Portal 2 Max because of the beautiful screen and hand size of the device and finally after browsing I found a great deal on eBay and actually won the bid! It included a lot of extra cases and things. I’m super excited and I can’t wait to get this beast of an handheld. I know I’m going to be using moonlight/artemis to stream from my rig but aside from that can anyone recommend some good games and titles to sink my hours into! It’s been so long since I’ve played any old school games or even newer ones. I’ve always been a PC gamer (league, moba, rpgs) but having something handheld creates so many opportunities! Super excited to hear everyone’s opinions on the device and what they enjoy playing! submitted by /u/AsianAsF to r/OdinHandheld [link] [comments]

Steam Deck Offline games recommendation (long flight travel)
Hi all, I recently purchased the 512gb OLED model, it is actually waiting for me to pick up at home. Hooray! I will soon have a long flights ahead 28hrs+ with stops in between. I would like to know a couple of good games to have which are playable offline. Could you please recommend a couple? (don`t mind the size of games, I got a micro sd 512gb too which should be more than enough for this first couple of weeks/months) Thank you! Previously Enjoyed Games: Diablo franchise, Assassins Creed, POE, Borderlands, New World. Preferred Genres: Happy to explore new categories with the handheld, but usually I play FPS multiplayer games or MMOs, I do enjoy good RPGs too for single player or adventure. I like looters too. Budget: No budget constraints Other Notes: Just looking for games I can play offline with no issues while I am on the flight, since I won`t be able to turn on wifi during flight to fix it. *EDIT: Thanks for the multiple recommendations. It is here + Black Friday Goodies! https://preview.redd.it/k5giyrwqqo3g1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24cddfa44a624e49762e0f2014fe60dde60685f7 submitted by /u/Rocknbeers to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]

I really love the removable case that comes with the 1TB Steam Deck OLED
Back when I had the Steam Deck LCD, I didn’t like carrying it around because the case was too bulky. To feel safe throwing it in a bag, I had to buy a screen protector, a joystick stabilizer, and even a separate carrying case. But with the 1TB OLED, I don’t need any of that—it already feels so much more secure. On top of that, the matte screen is just amazing. Such a thoughtful design. Love you, Valve. submitted by /u/redbeardos to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]

Is the screen protector supposed to look like this?
Just applied a screen protector to my OLED deck but not sure if it's supposed to be like this. I'm referring to the very noticeable grayish border around the screen itself that is the protector. I've watched a couple videos and don't see it being nearly as noticeable as I have it here. Is this just how it is or did I apply the protector incorrectly somehow? submitted by /u/koliman1545 to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]

Finally treated myself to a Steam Deck OLED!
Finally. It's been forever since I felt beyond tempted to grab one of these. As many, I was reluctant about the size and the weight, not to mention the fact that I already had a decent laptop to run what I usually play. But you know how this goes. After working all day on a PC, I don't want to spend more time sitting in front of a monitor. And I'm not a fan of sitting on the sofa with my wifey watching me play while we could be doing something else together. Even though we usually play co-op stuff, I'm barely touching my PS4 or my Switch (docked). And while the Switch has been lovely, I have an enormous backlog of games on Steam. I also like the store a lot more, with constant sales and virtually eternal retrocompatibility. So I took the plunge and bought this beauty over here. It's a 512GB OLED model that I got from a friend of a friend for less than 400 euros. It included a nice screen protector and a Samsung 512GB Micro SD. For that price, I don't feel any guilt. And if Valve releases a Steam Deck 2 soon (unlikely), I can easily resell it to get the new thing. I'm beyond thrilled. Last night, I played Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and Fantasy Life i in bed. It was lovely, and I plan to add emulators plus other stores this weekend. So here I am, proud of my little new device! submitted by /u/Mallendary to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]

For anyone wondering about using a matte/anti-glare screen protector, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Ending up being far too fuzzy/foggy looking. Also really seems to affect the brightness and colors too much at least on this screen. I’ve use a matte screen protector on something like the Steam Deck OLED and maybe because of the vibrancy of the OLED, it was just a better experience. But using it on my Switch 2, I just wouldn’t recommend it. Going back to my JSAUX clear screen protector, looks a million times better. submitted by /u/NuM_Brrr_WoN to r/NintendoSwitch2 [link] [comments]

As the image shows there are some white dots that have appeared only on the right hand side of my steamdeck. I have it in a JSAUX cover with the travel screen protector on that then goes inside of the steamdeck supplied case. My only thought was moisture has got in the case somehow, which had then caused some sort of mold but I'm not entirely sure what it is and it doesnt wipe off. Has anyone else seen this before or got ideas on removing it? I've attempted using heavy duty wipes, with no success, and I haven't used anything abrasive with there being the potential of damaging it. My nephew thought the new steam deck was for him.
Hi so I'm in a different state for work. I had my steam deck shipped to a family address so it wouldn't sit around. My sister planed to get the nephew one but there's is like months out in preorder, nephew thought it was for him... Now he already installed and playing... What should I do now . Update Thanks for the info, So some notes.. My sister knew that a steam deck was coming. She didn't know witch one was for the kid. My name would have been on both. And the nephew just knows what the box will look like . 'blames the photos you see here" Guess I'll wait for the other.. I won't be home for a month anyways.. what's another 3 months I've already waited a year .... But I'm keeping the screen protector and skin cover Update 2 Thanks again for some of the post. And I've replied to some. I'll put what I said there here, I travle for work, I'm gon for months at a time. I don't have a way of safely checking orders for damage or even long term storage with out chance of it getting lost. Family doing this for me is a good option. Also it gives me a good reason to swing by when I'm back in town. A lot of things I get normally are for the family. I'm not mad at my sister I didn't communicate when to expect hers, kinda a failed surprise gift idea.. Along with how I order two steam decks So close to each other? Made an account on steam for the kids when they were young. "Easier prenatal /personal control over what they played." PayPal auto filled my info so I never changed names. I should stop relying on technology and do a human check. submitted by /u/bp_fox264 to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]
