Is Stock Market Crash trending?

Yes. Stock Market Crash growing with a month-over-month change of 0.89% over the past 5 years, with approximately 165,000 monthly searches.

Why is Stock Market Crash trending?

1
Economic Recession
A stock market crash often coincides with economic downturns, where negative economic indicators such as rising unemployment, declining GDP, and reduced consumer spending lead to decreased investor confidence.
2
Speculation and Overvaluation
Periods of excessive speculation can lead to stock prices being driven far above their intrinsic value. When investors realize that prices are unsustainable, a rapid sell-off can occur, triggering a crash.
3
Geopolitical Events
Unforeseen geopolitical events, such as wars, terrorist attacks, or political instability, can create uncertainty in the markets, leading to panic selling and a subsequent crash.
4
Interest Rate Changes
Changes in interest rates by central banks can significantly impact the stock market. An increase in rates can lead to higher borrowing costs and reduced consumer spending, causing stock prices to fall.
5
Technological Failures
In today's digital trading environment, technological failures or glitches can lead to rapid sell-offs. High-frequency trading algorithms can exacerbate market declines, contributing to a crash.
6
Market Sentiment
Investor sentiment plays a crucial role in stock market dynamics. Negative news or fear can lead to herd behavior, where investors sell off stocks en masse, resulting in a crash.

People screaming ”Markets gonna crash” everyday, can you please stop being so embarrasing and pathetic?
Ever since ive started investing in 2019 as a 30 year old, ive since then read everyday on forums like these ”Markets gonna crash, look at x and y” ”SP500 is at a hall time high” as an argument Then, when everyone who did not panic made a lot of money because it did not crash, you start seeing post like ”Market is irrational, how can it go up? Its rigged. Its only for the rich” I dont understand how so weak human beings can even think of investing in the first place. Markets has crashed before, it will crash again, no one knows when but it always rebounds stronger and stronger. So, who gives a shit? Why make a million posts about it everyday? You dont think SP500 will hit new records soon? Ever? Why even invest then? When it really crashes, its gonna take some years but it always rebounds and hits a new high, and trying to time shit is a perfect way to lose your money completely. 2020 when Corona hit, i really thought 2008 was upon us, i was 100% sure. I sold off every single ETF i had because i was supposed to be smart when it was only 20% down because i listened to internet. Then it rebounded. I lost 20% of everything i worked so hard for and missed out on when it regained it, and started investing again. Lesson learned. Never, ever, again. Since then i just buy, buy, buy and dont give a single shit about about people like these losers. But what now gets on my nerves is how people have the guts to totally stress the shit out of new young investors. Please, shut the f up and go let your money rot in a bank where you should have them and let young people build their future. And guess what? Omg the market’s finally crashing!!!
Jk. But that’s all i ever see from Reddit investing subs like this one. No one here is the next Michael Burry. Even Michael Burry isn’t the next Michael Burry. People said the iPhone was going to flop and Apple would crash and burn. People said Tesla was overvalued before it climbed 1000%. A worldwide pandemic kicked off years of ridiculous returns. Nothing makes sense and that’s not in your control! Stocks nowadays are more reflective of how the wealthy are doing and they’re doing really really well. Most everything has been overvalued for almost a decade now and questioning valuations will lose you money. I’ve spent 5+ years of opening up the Money or Finance section of MSN/Yahoo Finance/WSJ every day at work. All it’s ever been is a sea of millions of articles of how everything’s flashing red, how Company XYZ has horrible books, and how this conflict or this stat or this ratio is THE signal to get out of the market. Yet I’ve made astronomical returns by investing where I see people lining up out the door, no matter how stupid the product or service is. A possible correction due to $150 oil barrels and changing fed chairs is just a buying opportunity. A shadow private credit bust could pop the AI Bubble but it also means no more data centers and opportunities to buy in other sectors. Unless you’re about to retire or day trading, just keep investing. If a 90% crash like the Great Depression ever happens, the market will still break even in a couple years after. Stock go down? Good, buy more. Stock go up? Good, buy more. If you’re not happy with your investment, invest in something else. Rinse and repeat. Nasdaq is down 8% since October. In that time period 73% S&P companies are beating earnings expectations and they're up 14% year-over-year. So earnings have been booming in the last 6 months and the market is down not insignificantly. Yes we haven't seen things fall off a cliff but the last time we were down 8% over a 6 month period was 2022 and at that time earnings were growing significantly slower than was expected - only 6% year-over-year. We have had a significant pull back in time over the last 6 months and earnings are doing great. Huge market crash or great reset coming?
Since fear is constantly being pumped, even during nice minor uptrends, there are always people who say “something is about to happen.” Someone out there always says we are in a bubble, that a crash is coming soon, etc. I only know one thing: these people can’t foresee the future all at the same time. Markets never let people guess exactly what they are thinking. So I am chill, believing there won’t be a huge crash in the coming future. What do you guys think? I want to hear some crazy estimations about what expects us in the coming future. submitted by /u/InvestingGuideline to r/investing [link] [comments]

The Hindenburg Omen, an indicator that correctly detected the 1987 and 2008 stock market crashes, has been triggered! Thoughts?
Explanation: "The Hindenburg Omen is a combination of technical signals that together forecast the likelihood of a stock market crash. The technical inputs are the 10 Week Simple Moving Average, New 52 week highs on the NYSE, New 52 Week lows on the NYSE, and the McClellan Oscillator. If, on the same day, a) the 10 Week Moving Average is rising, b) New Highs and New Lows are greater than [2.2]% of total issues traded, c) the McClellan Oscillator is negative, and d) New Highs are less than or equal to twice the New Lows then a Hindenburg Signal is indicated by a yellow circle. Two such signals within a 36-day period is considered a Hindenburg Omen and is indicated by a red diamond. The Hindenburg Omen portends a serious decline within the next 40 days." I’m genuinely curious what others think about this one. Does this signal actually carry weight in today’s algo-driven, liquidity-fueled market, or is it just another outdated technical anomaly? Could this be an early red flag we shouldn’t ignore, or simply noise in an overextended market? submitted by /u/-----Marcel----- to r/wallstreetbets [link] [comments]

We are about to see the mother of all market crash.
I think it's safe to say that today’s events were a clear display of blatant market manipulation—something that many of us witnessed in real time. While some may find humor in the sudden surge marked by oversized green arrows and irrational price action, I genuinely believe this is one of the most short-sighted and dangerous moves this administration—or those behind the scenes—could make. There have been countless posts, and even a few individuals pointing out exactly how the manipulation occurred. What we saw today wasn’t just a fluke or anomaly—it resembled, in both form and consequence, the kind of market dislocations seen during China’s stock market crash and even the 2008 financial crisis. These kinds of unnatural market behaviors, when left unchecked, have serious implications—especially for foreign investors who are already growing increasingly cautious. https://x.com/unusual_whales/status/1910033260975165836 When foreign investors perceive that the U.S. stock market is rigged or manipulated, they begin to lose trust. And when trust erodes, capital flight follows. These investors start withdrawing their money from U.S. equities and reallocating it into markets they perceive as more stable, transparent, and fair. This withdrawal of capital leads to declining stock prices—especially in sectors that rely heavily on foreign investment—and a sharp drop in overall market liquidity. And let’s not forget: the 2008 crash was, at its core, a liquidity crisis. Once liquidity dries up, even healthy companies can become victims of a broader market freeze. Historically, the U.S. has been seen as a safe haven for global capital—thanks to strong institutions, robust regulatory oversight, deep market liquidity, and a relatively low tolerance for corruption. But if today’s behavior continues—and is either tolerated or encouraged—the reputation of U.S. markets will suffer. Investors will start to question the credibility of institutions like the SEC and doubt whether fair play is even possible. This loss of faith won't just affect retail investors—it will reverberate through the largest and most conservative pools of capital: pension funds, foreign sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and long-term institutional players. These are not gamblers—they’re looking for stability. And if they begin to see the U.S. market as a casino, they’ll exit quietly but decisively. We’ve been down this road before. In 2008, trust in U.S. credit markets collapsed globally. It took massive bailouts and sweeping regulatory reforms to even begin to restore confidence. If we continue on this path—where the bond market is screaming that we're in serious trouble, while the stock market artificially surges due to manipulation—we’re heading toward something even worse. This is shaping up to be the mother of all crashes. And when it happens, we won’t be able to say we weren’t warned. The signs are there, flashing in broad daylight. submitted by /u/Rainyfriedtofu to r/WallStreetbetsELITE [link] [comments]

Buffett denies social media rumors after Trump shares wild claim that investor backs president crashing market
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/04/buffett-denies-social-media-rumors-after-trump-shares-wild-claim-that-investor-backs-president-crashing-market.html Warren Buffett went on the record Friday to deny social media posts after President Donald Trump shared on Truth Social a fan video that claimed the president is tanking the stock market on purpose with the endorsement of the legendary investor. Trump on Friday shared an outlandish social media video that defends his recent policy decisions by arguing he is deliberately taking down the market as a strategic play to force lower interest and mortgage rates. “Trump is crashing the stock market by 20% this month, but he’s doing it on purpose,” alleged the video, which Trump posted on his Truth Social account. The video’s narrator then falsely states, “And this is why Warren Buffett just said, ‘Trump is making the best economic moves he’s seen in over 50 years.’” submitted by /u/Durian881 to r/stocks [link] [comments]

Is Trump crashing the market on purpose?
A few theories being floated. The one we’re seeing the most... The U.S. has to refinance $7 trillion in debt soon. Trump doesn’t want high interest rates, so he’s pushing for a stock market crash to make bond prices go up and yields go down. Lower bond yields would let the government refinance debt cheaply and force the Fed to cut interest rates. Thoughts? TIL the 2010 Flash Crash, during which the US stock market temporarily lost $1 trillion in value, was partly caused by Navinder Sarao, an autistic man living in his parents' London home. In a span of 5 years, Sarao made a profit of $40 million by tricking high frequency traders with custom software.
