Does anyone do subscription boxes? What ones are the best..
Hi! I’m always reading and have so many books but mostly from Barnes and Noble and I always see these IG unboxing videos I think are insanely cool but I’m not sure if those are things you can buy into/what ones would be best or if the people opening them get special ones no one else can buy bc they’re content creators (e.g. booksbyem and thtgirlreads.. though I’m pretty sure this is her legitimate only job and I am insanely jealous lol) I’d like to get some really cool special editions and fun associated trinkets/items but I’m super uncertain of how to go about it or if it ends up being worth it submitted by /u/sarahtonin7623 to r/Romantasy [link] [comments]

what are the best food subscription boxes for people with zero free time?
update: i tried the prepared & ready meals from Blue Apron and so far it's been great. the quality is way higher than I expected for a heat-and-eat meal. the veggies still have some crunch and it doesn't feel like a sad TV dinner. honestly, after spending 12 hours a day commuting, working, going to gym, the last thing i want to do is navigate a crowded grocery store and then spend an hour prepping a meal. i’m looking for the best food subscription boxes that actually prioritize speed and quality without making me feel like i’m eating a "tv dinner." i’ve tried a few of the big ones in the past, but the prep work was always way more than they claimed, and i ended up with a pile of dishes i didn't want to wash. has anyone found a service lately that has actually figured out the balance between "fresh" and "no-hassle"? i’m looking for something with decent protein options and maybe some oven-ready stuff for the days i'm too wiped to even chop an onion. submitted by /u/RubinMesina to r/Adulting [link] [comments]

Book Subscription Boxes
I’ve heard of Owl Crate, Fairy Loot, and Illumicrate. Are any of these worth buying, or are there smaller companies that do something similar? I’ve been considering signing up for one. But I want to get my moneys worth and I’d really prefer to support a smaller business.🫶🏻📚🪶💜 submitted by /u/One-Comfortable-1229 to r/SubscriptionBoxes [link] [comments]

Need Monthly Makeup Subscription Ideas NOT IPSY!!!
I've been on and off with Ipsy since it started and haven't gotten it since 2022ish I believe and I just decided to join again and signed up for all the boxes and my total was $50ish and the ultimate is supposed to replace your other monthly boxes quarterly so cool cool right until I look at my bank account and noticed they charged me an extra $73!! maybe I am in the wrong. Customer support said they will not compensate me in anyway the sale is final and it's because I signed up for all the boxes at once so they charged me for all of them even though I never got any notice that I was going to be paying that much especially when it clearly stated the ultimate will replace the other regular and extra.... annnnyyy waaaayys any other makeup subscriptions boxes you recommend?? Thank you in advance and sorry if this is bad i'm just a tad overwhelmed at the moment. submitted by /u/kaylawhite6593 to r/BeautyBoxes [link] [comments]

Comparing 3 monthly retro game subscription boxes
A couple of months ago I've made this post where I said I'll get a few more subscription boxes from the 3 companies I'm subscribed to and then post a comparison. So, here it is ... Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated to any of the companies nor do I know any of their employees, I'm not getting paid by 'big retro box' or anything of the sort. I did not put any referral link, if there's one, it's reddit, not me. I do it for fun, and I hope people will find this useful and support these businesses (or not, I don't care). The 3 companies are, in the order their boxes arrive each month: videogamesmonthly (VGM), retrogametreasure (RGT), ggretrobox (GGR). I've been subscribed to VGM and RGT for at least 1 year and to GGR for 2 months. 1. Packaging All 3 companies use custom boxes as seen in the first picture. While VGM's is the most uninteresting, they include goodies like stickers and rubber fridge magnets, the others do not. RGT has a very charming pixel design which fits their brand name well. GGR uses artwork from someone called Graven Ravenwolf - he's credited on the box - so I'm glad it's not AI, and it's cool that it's a different design every month, but it's a bit too busy for me. Overall, I'd say RGT wins this (my subjective opinion), with GGR a close second. 2. Price VGM is $44.99 for '~5 games per month' - shipping is around $10. They have different tiers up to a $150 per month '~20 games' plan RGT is $39.99, shipping is around $10 - they have no other tier but you can prepay 3, 6 ,12 months for a discount. GGR is $65, shipping is free - they have no other tier not any discount. Even with shipping factored in, GGR is the most expensive. As this metric is somewhat irrelevant, without looking at 'value', I'll just not declare any winner here. 3. Site features All 3 websites are able to track your collection. RGT and GGR will automatically add the games they send to your virtual collection, and will try to avoid sending you duplicates. For VGM you have to do it yourself. GGR's tracker seems slightly more modern, includes a barcode reader to enter your games faster. In terms of account management: VGM doesn't really have an account management page, can't change password, can't change shipping address, no idea how to cancel RGT has an account management page, but you need to send an email to unsubscribe GGR also has an account management page, which has an unsubscribe button - much appreciated. It also allows you to authenticate with Google and a couple others - also much appreciated. One thing I didn't like about GGR was that it doesn't allow you to select fewer than 5 systems, the others do. Unfortunately they send me a lot of NES games in my latest box which I didn't have selected. GGR wins here, RGT second, VGM a distant third 4. Games condition You will not get pristine condition games with any of the services. For cartridge games it's very rare to get a CIB game, it happens more often with DS/3DS games. Games will have stickers and sometimes writing on them. Since I've been subscribed to VGM and RGT for longer, I can only say that VGM have sent games in worse condition than RGT. I only have 2 boxes from GGR, so I don't have enough samples to rate it. Based on what I've got in the past 2 months, I think RGT and GGR are on par with VGM a bit behind. 5. Value The only way to not make this subjective is to take pricecharting prices (and mynty's), and compare them to the subscription cost. I will not include the shipping price here. There's is a 'Value' line which represents the % difference between the pricecharting value and the subscription price. If it's > 0 then the games are worth more than you paid. My system selection (you can set that on their websites, allowing you to select which systems you want games for): VGM: 1 box: N64 and GameGear, 1 box: SNES and N64 RGT: both boxes: SNES, N64, 3DS GGR: both boxes: N64, GBC, SNES, GB, Genesis September box VGM ----------------------------------------- PriceCharting Mynty TazMania (GG) 7.17 4.00 EH Boxing (GG) 7.71 2.00 NBA JAM (GG) 5.00 7.00 XMen (GG) 8.84 11.00 WaveRace64 (N64) 14.25 13.00 Total 42.97 37.00 Price 44.99 Value% -4.7% -12.6% RGT ----------------------------------------- PriceCharting Mynty MK2 (SNES) 15.39 17.00 Rainbow Six (N64) 12.87 12.00 Mario Kart 7 (3DS) 13.01 12.00 Total 41.24 41.00 Price 39.99 Value% 3.0% %2.5 GGR ----------------------------------------- PriceCharting Mynty Turok2 (N64) 13.00 12.00 Mario Party (N64) 34.95 37.00 ToeJam (GEN) 26.09 26.00 Total 74.04 75.00 Price 65.00 Value% 12.2% 13.3% October box VGM ----------------------------------------- PriceCharting Mynty ScoobyDoo (SNS) 10.19 7.00 Arcade's Rev (SNS) 12.64 7.00 All Star (SNS) 4.80 6.00 M:I (N64) 9.92 8.00 F1 (N64) 7.62 6.00 Total 45.17 34.00 Price 44.99 Value% 0.4% -32.3% RGT ----------------------------------------- PriceCharting Mynty MK3 (SNS) 13.65 18.00 Pitfall (SNS) 10.00 7.00 F1 (N64) 7.62 6.00 CN Battle (3DS) 8.5 6.00 Total 39.77 37.00 Price 39.99 Value% -0.6% -8.1% GGR ----------------------------------------- PriceCharting Mynty SMB 5 Screw (NES) 17.76 19.00 Baseball Star (NES) 14.26 15.00 Exodus (NES) 17.00 17.00 SW Racer (N64) 10.75 12.00 Total 59.77 63.00 Price 65.00 Value% -8.75% -3.2% Looking at these, it would seem that GGR has the best value, but keep in mind that the condition of the most expensive game (Mario Party in the first box) wasn't "$35" great, and, also very important: they shouldn't have sent me NES games in the second box, it wasn't selected. On the other hand, one important fact is the shipping price which wasn't factored in for VGM and RGT, so if you added that, GGR would win this convincingly. As it stands right now, I'd say GGR has only a slight edge because of their screw-up, and VGM is the worst. Keep in mind GGR is a relatively new company, so they might have not hit the game 'drought' the other 2 companies might face after so many years - they probably built some inventory before starting the business and wanted to make a great first impression - not sure if it's sustainable. 6. Conclusion And that's it - mathematically, GGR probably wins, but having received games for a system I did not select is a BIG red flag. Over the long run, RGT beat VGM without a doubt (again, I had these 2 for much longer than GGR) - RGT have been reliable, didn't send me duplicates (unlike VGM) and they offer adequate value. I'll probably stay with GGR and RGT. submitted by /u/NK0d3R to r/gamecollecting [link] [comments]

What subscription boxes do you swear by?
Hey friends!! I’m in the mood to do a little window shopping for subscription boxes, and I’d love to hear about your faves. They can be subscriptions for anything—makeup, clothes, books, scents, skincare, hot sauce, nails, stationary, anime, whatever you like! I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for, and I likely don’t know all of the options out there, so I’d like to hear from y’all. P.S. Which subscription boxes/crates have been worth your money?
I see a lot of these for all sorts of concepts, you name it really and it probably exists. To be honest I find them very gimmicky and not very useful unless you're flipping non-perishables. A “subscription” box charged me for 4 of their $107 boxes without my consent and won’t refund me my money. What do I do?
(I don’t know if I should say the name of the company, although at this point they completely deserve it) but last year I bought a single box from this company to be mailed to me. You have to request a box to be charged, it’s not an automatic subscription. HOWEVER, I woke up one recent morning to my bank alerting me that I’d overdrawn from my account. I look at the statement and the company has charged me for 3 of their boxes. I got an email from the company saying it was a “server error” and that they’d fix it all same day. So I wait a day. They refund me for ONE BOX. I wait two days. On the morning of the second day I wake up to my bank alerting me again, because the company has charged me again for that box they refunded, as well as a fourth one for good measure. I now have large bank fees for my insufficient funds and I’m kind of freaking out. They owe me $428 for the boxes and the bank fees are $68 and climbing. I’ve called and called and emailed and emailed. What should I do? I feel robbed! EDIT: Thank you so much everyone for your help! I went to my bank and disputed the charges and got my money back as well as a new card coming in the mail. The company (Quarterly Co.) still hasn’t replied to my emails but I’m fine with that at this point. I don’t want anything to do with them anymore. Thanks again :) submitted by /u/JarOfFists to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]
