Marty is a complete pos, narcissist, who will do absolutely anything to achieve his “dream.” You are not supposed to like him, the guy nearly gets his unborn child murdered all in pursuit of winning a game of ping pong, it’s literally the most absurd personification of hustle culture possible. That’s the whole point in the films ending, it’s not even complex, did people just close their eyes through the ending scenes. He does all that wins the game and it doesn’t fill the hole it meant nothing. The guy literally breaks down when he stares meaning in the face in the form of his new born child. I know the rest of the film is a complete Safdie chaos fest (good thing btw.) But when did we lose basic media literacy, this isn’t even a complex story. Gonna add in a list of reads and comments that I’m directly referencing here. The people who are adamant that the glorification of the ping pong match at the end undoes the point that you’re meant to dislike Marty, the whole point of the rocky style match is complete absurdity, his childs mother has been shot and is in surgery potentially gonna lose the baby (Due to his actions.) and the guy flew around the world to hit a ball with a paddle it’s absurd commentary, that’s pretty clear. Any read, that views the film as a story of triumph that Marty achieved his dream so earned the right to settle down and become a father has completely missed the point. The idea that the story didn’t earn marty’s “change” or the idea that he “changed.” It’s not as much a change as it is an existential realisation when his own child is staring him in the face. It’s not more complicated than there’s nothing more meaningful than parenthood and something meaning more than the self, the director said as much himself. I ship with Superbuy. They have restrictions, lots, and they still adding some... But they have been reliable to me for all this time since I've changed to them. I don't get anything from them except a small cashback you can get too, it's my honest opinion on their service, and I am happy with them. I paid around $133 for shipping to EU, Poland from them. It says my parcel was 10kg, but its not really that much, I think they could have packed my items a bit better to save on volumetric weight. Here they get a red dot. ITEMS: 1. Supreme x B.B. Simmons (dragonrep) - insane zip-up, for all the people badmouthin some of his stuff, this is a really nice piece, the B.B. Simmon "gems" actually look nice, they are well glued and everything from the waffle cotton to the zipper genuinely feel good! Baggy fit true to size. 2. Elysian & CO pinstriped wide legs pants - I just sort of fell in love with baggy pinstriped pants because of all the pinterest / cropped fit - baggy pants fashion trends right now.. Idk, overall a super nice pair of pants, can be a statement piece by itself or complement ur other pieces. Material is genuinely great, firerep NEVER cheapens out on his production, even if the final price would be higher, which I highly respect. Not a single piece I've bought so far from him has deteriorated over time. Elysian leather patch on the back, inside tags are all accurate, custom metallic buttons and pins. 3. LV sweatpants - a bit small, perhaps size up once on these unless you want a tighter fit, I thought they would be cool for gym. Material is a cotton blend, embroidery on the backpocket, inside tags I have no idea, cannot find any inside tags online or anything like that. 4. Supreme tees (Yohji Yamamoto, blur tee, arabic tee) - just super cool, iconic even, Supreme logo tees, cool additions to my collection, prints are decent too, material seems to be cotton, same fit as retail (sort of baggy fit, tts) 5. Supreme "7" polos (red and black) - from dragon, cotton feels heavy and nice, "7" box on the back is a bit glossy, but as it looks online its meant to be like that. 7 and Supreme World Famous are embroidered. Inside tags are accurate (dragon has imo some of the best Supreme inside-tags) 6. Nike Vintage Milan polo - I just like vintage polos, its a pleasant surprise whenever someone reps one of these. Embroidery is spot on, The 3rd button is yellow colored, which is right, custom neck-tag repped too! Loose regular fit (Go tts, it will be relaxed fit, not a tight polo fit) 7. CDG x Supreme longsleeve - also sort of a vintage piece? I dont know when the real thing came out, but I haven't seen this on resell irl much, quality is quite basic, print is good, direct on the fabric, fits true to size. 8. Balenciaga graffiti runners - true to size, not a single glue mark, no bad smell. Crazy colourway, absolutely love them, I have pre-order up for atomu graffiti grey sweats not sure how its gonna fit but I have high hopes. 9.
