Prototype of the tote bag I’m making!
I did follow a YouTube tutorial, only watched until the base and so I did that and then… I’m sort of just free-handing it from here, as the photos show. An awful yucky greyish/pink I’ve been using it as the “Prototype Yarn” for all the “Prototype Projects” until the yarn runs out you know? I’ve also been using it to practice stitches upon stitches. As I am still learning and am a very beginner crocheter 😆 I’ve done double crochet all around I think 3 times and now where the hook is, 4mm, I’m doing half double crochet. {I still need to remeber the names but honestly- ehhhh, I’m going by feel lmao!} Wish me luck at having enough yarn to finish this! submitted by /u/Y33TTH3MF33T to r/crochet [link] [comments]

Best yarn to use for a tote bag and a cardigan? I’m a beginner.
Just as the title says, I’m getting into crocheting for the first time and i’ve really been wanting to make a cardigan and a tote bag. But theres just so many options and i have no idea what yarn to buy or what hook, etc. So far i’ve been to michael’s and bought the brand called caron cloud cakes and it’s a blue ombré yarn (pics attached). I’ve also purchased a 4.5mm hook for it since that’s what the label recommends. I tried to follow a tutorial, but i think it’s too thin to make either of these. I just don’t know what to get, what size, what hook, etc. any help and info is appreciated!! submitted by /u/CasualPixel2000 to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Instead of rows in round, somehow I’ve been doing a spiral. I don’t want to frog, how do I transition back to rows for this tote bag?
I’ve been working with this pattern: https://vivcrochets.com/simple-crochet-tote-bag-free-pattern-tutorial/ but switched to a HDC after a while. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but somehow tapering this leading edge so that I have a somewhat level final row (I probably have 5-10 more rounds before the end so there’s plenty of time to make this happen) submitted by /u/smontres to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Crocheting a tote bag in the round- am I supposed to be working on the inside or outside as I go?
I am working on this tote bag and I’m on my 4th round of the body and I can’t figure out where I’m supposed to be positioned. Am I working on the outside of the bag facing in, or on the inside of the bag facing out? Does it even matter? submitted by /u/smontres to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

I don’t like this tote bag I crocheted, need help figuring out what to do now
I crocheted a tote bag following this pattern : https://vivcrochets.com/crochet-granny-tote-bag-free-pattern-tutorial/. I increased the width as well as the height to suit my purpose. But I see it turning out to be so awkward. The square opening seems too short. The base is not sturdy as it follows same pattern as the rest of the bag and now the bag stretches way too much if I put even my mobile inside it, so a lining is now mandatory. I’m confused if I should just frog it and go with a sturdier base or if all this is just me overthinking. Please help. submitted by /u/itsanoldsongreally to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Crochet tote bag decreased stitches help. Do three stitches matter when sewing together panels
Hello! I am a relatively new crocheter, I have begun to make a tote bag. I’m inserting a screenshot of the video I got the pattern from. I am about halfway done, and am finished with one panel done. At some point I decreased about three stitches from the bottom to the top. Is there a way to fix this issue without having to redo the whole panel? I’m not sure at the moment of which row I decreased in, I just counted the stitches on the last row and realized it was off. submitted by /u/HalcyonDreamerz to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

My Summer Sunflower Tote (and how I lined an irregularly shaped tote bag with fabric)
It’s done! It’s done! I’m so proud of this project! I wanted a summery tote bag and really loved Crochet With Clare’s Granny Square Bottom Bag. Given the holes inherent to the pattern, I wanted to try my hand at lining the bag with fabric. Thankfully, she also has a video tutorial for that; however, I wanted to figure out how I could make the lining come up all the way the sides, rather than end short of the straps. I’m proud of myself for wrapping my head around the math and I’ll share my method and diagrams in the comments. My machine and hand sewing skills are incredibly basic and unpolished, but they got the job done here. submitted by /u/TheHatThatTalks to r/crochet [link] [comments]

Help needed with the checkered tote bag I am making
Hello! I have been following a youtube tutorial by Chenda DIY to make a checkered crochet bag. I have done two bags since I started crocheting about a year ago. I just started another one and I am noticing that my sarting point doesn't line up every row. (The bag is worked in circle and is made of DCs. I went back to the first 2 bags that I made and it's doing the same thing. I probably just didn't notice at the time since they were my two very first crochet projects. Today I decided to go back to the youtube tutorial just to make sure that I am not missing anything and I realised that the bag she is doing for the tutorial also has the same problem. I am definetly not experienced enough to come up with solutions by myself and that is why I am hoping you guys could help me. I have joined a screeshot of the youtube tutorial and have circled what I am refering to. Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/GiQYVrfcss8?si=H6IT16zK52a5iQT2 Thank you so much in advance!🧡 submitted by /u/Imaginary_Minute9553 to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Should I be concerned? My tote bag project is turning wavy
I’m somewhat new to crochet and I wanted to make a spiral tote bag and I couldn’t find a tutorial that quite worked for me, so I’ve been free handing this start to a spiral but it’s curling up and I’m not sure if it will straighten out or if it will mess up my project, let me know! submitted by /u/Koi_fish_is_amazing to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Tutorials on how to make a crochet bag over an actual tote bag
Hello everyone! A while ago I saw a video (one of those everything I made this year) and the girl in that video showed a few bags that she crochet (granny square ones) over her old canvas tote bags. I can’t find it since it was a while ago and it had a very basic title. I wanted to make a similar bag and was trying to find any information on how to do it.. so if anyone has any patterns/video tutorials or maybe suggestions on how to crochet over a tote I would really appreciate it. Have a great day! submitted by /u/nNikelsky to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Crochet bag streches out
Hey there! A while ago I made a crochet bag using this pattern. It did turn our beautiful, but the issue is that as soon as I use the bag, e.g. if I were to put a book into it, it streches out horribly and does not keep its shape at all. Do you have any experiences on why that happens and how to prevent it? I used 100% acrylic yarn, maybe that is the issue already? Sadly the yarn linked in the tutorial is a dead end now, but I remember trying to find a very similar one, so I think hers was acrylic too? Or should I use a smaller hook to make it more "dense"? My bag did turn out bigger than what was given in the pattern, so maybe thats an indicator? Could it be a tension issue? I currently do not have the bag with me to take photos, but I'm not sure if those would help anyway. submitted by /u/undercoverdeer- to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

Is this bad for the bottom of a tote bag?
Hey guys, I'm a beginner who's making a tote bag for a friend. I'm following this YouTube video: DIY Crotchet Bag | Crochet Shoulder Bag Tutorial | Wonderful Crochet Pattern | ViVi Berry Crochet https://youtu.be/zMIs6tkkP6w?si=IbOlmVEj4m63ieLr I just finished the bottom and I'm about to start row 8, but the bottom looks a little bit TOO wavy, is this okay? Should I frog and restart while making the foundation chain looser? I'm using Sugar'n Cream 4 ply worsted black 100% cotton yarn with a 5.0 mm hook. submitted by /u/Someone_on-earth to r/CrochetHelp [link] [comments]

My 2nd tote bag :)
Made for a friend's birthday! My lining abilities have improved greatly since my first bag, I was so proud of all the pockets. I even reinforced the straps with ribbon (mainly bc I am too impatient to figure out the thermal stitch but we don't need to talk about that😅) I made the sunbursts extra large so the bag was a bigger size (I usually see patterns with 3 rings of color instead of 4) Tutorial: How to Crochet a Large Sunburst Granny Square, by nautikrallcrochet https://youtu.be/iQkALmDcCBI submitted by /u/home_fox to r/crochet [link] [comments]
