I made my own console using the Explorer arm rest and mounts. Amd with a water bottle and the Atlas II shifters. The cup holder is from a Grand Cherokee that I cut down and angled to fit.

The changes were good and needed, but I really wanted a bit more for 2026 collection. Other bag makers are doing a lot for a little. I have a couple past models but find myself going back to my Sun Mountain because the water bottle holder is better and the strap adjusts to hit my butt better. I'll give this one a try at the store to see how it feels.

With Aer moving toward dual water bottle holders on both the TP4 and CPP2—and getting rid of the quick-access pockets—I’m curious what people actually prefer. I don’t really trust most bag reviewers (except NN), I want to hear from actual users. A water bottle holder is nice, but having two feels like wasted space to me. *small rant* the company i work for was recently bought out by a less reputable large christian company. my coworkers and i are not happy about the change (i work in luxury senior care). this is how they decided to win our trust. i have been trying to downsize and i do not appreciate being given more things to get rid of. as most of us are aware, there is an overabundance of cups and water bottles readily available at literally every store, especially the thrift store. i work in healthcare (predominantly with women). they know that everybody already owns a water bottle, a journal, and chapstick. it’s an insult to expect me to be grateful for the branded landfill you’ve stuck me with. not pictured is another chapstick, 2 more branded pens, a chapstick holder that i do use, 4 non-recyclable pamphlets, and a tiny version of that bag (a bag that i cannot use for anything as it’s not large enough to hold a substantial amount of groceries). the tiny version could not be used to hold literally anything. it was smaller than a tissue box. submitted by /u/audummy to r/Anticonsumption [link] [comments]

My GF goes through a case of smart water bottles every couple of weeks. She refills them from the tap a few times before she decides the "mouth bacteria" is gross, or the convenience of grabbing an already-filled bottle is worth $2. I want to rid our home of all the plastic garbage, but she will literally succumb to dehydration if I take them away. I need a bottle that Has 1L (or at least 32oz) capacity Fits in Subaru cupholders Is clear Does not impart a taste Is easy to clean (ideally dishwasher safe) I use a shaker bottle and just throw it in the dishwasher every couple of days, but she says she can taste the plastic. Personally, I think the smart water bottles are just made of better-tasting plastic. If they made a long skinny Nalgene that would be perfect, but they don't (in that capacity). Is there a comparison grid of popular bottles I can look at? I know it's trivial but given it's one bagging, every space counts. Do you all bring water bottles? Water is fairly easy to find and if I do purchase a plastic bottle, I end up reusing it for the duration of the trip. When my bag is fully packed out, sticking a water bottle into its holder gets tricky too and cuts into some space. In a perfect world, lululemon would venture into climbing clothes and chalk bags! For the time being, I made my own using a water bottle cross body as a base :) Pics 1&2: final result! (Steps) Pic 3: I seamed ripped the existing strap from the body of the bag and also seam ripped the light green elastic from the strap to utilize as a brush holder. Pic 4: I sewed the elastic strap into a cylinder and stitched it onto the left side where the old strap used to be. Pic 5: I bought a 6 ft, 5/8" pink dog leash and 5/8" pink buckle material from Etsy to create my own pink waist strap since existing chalk bag straps are all black 👎 I used a box stitch to attach the leash to the buckle material. Pic 6: On the right side of the bag body, I made a hole in the side seam and inserted a 1/4" eyelet. Pic 7: I covered the metal eyelet with 6 stranded green thread to blend it with the body of the bag more. I can link a tutorial for the stitch if anyone's interested! Pic 8: I fished the existing black drawstring out of the channel until I found where I could cut it off and remove the hardware. Pic 9: After removing the black drawstring, I replaced it with a pink one because it's cuter and fed both sides into the new eyelet. Pic 10: I put the drawstring hardware back on, sewed the 2 ends of the pink strap together, then fed the connection point to the back of the channel (reducing the risk of accidentally pulling the connection point out and making it visible). Pic 11: I cut 2 strips from the pink dog leash, burning the ends to seal them, and sewed them onto the top flap of the bag after folding in half. Pic 12: I folded some fleece in half, sewed the sides together, and perpendicularly sewed the corners to make a bow shape. Pic 13: I then stuffed the fleece into the bag, folding over the edges so the right side touches the wrong side of the water bottle crossbody. Pic 14: Using a simple whip stitch, I sewed the fleece to the inner flap of the bag. Pic 15: When I got to the waist loops, I used a backstitch to attach the loops to the fleece. This took me a few hours and done mostly by hand! I used my sewing machine to quickly sew my fleece lining, but you could definitely do that by hand as well with patience. With the fleece lining in place, the bag is deep enough to hold quite a bit of chalk. The opening is a tad tighter than other chalk bags which shouldn't be a problem for average-sized hands. I'm still pretty new to crochet, I bought some cute cotton yarn and decided to make this water bottle pattern. The yarn has more stretch than I was expecting and so when my giant water bottle is filled, it dips down a few inches. Should I be worried that this will permanently stretch the strap? I'm trying to avoid buying too many reusable water bottles because that defeats the purpose of a reusable water bottle. I've had some I like, but I can't find any that have all of the features I'm looking for. Maybe I just haven't found it yet? I'm currently using a ThermoFlask 40oz from Costco. Here's what I like: It's big: I drink a lot of water, I love that I only have to it refill once or twice per day Flip top straw: I prefer drinking out of straws, it's safer for driving, it's easier if I'm lying down, and it helps me drink more water. I don't like straws that don't flip down because they're cumbersome (Stanley 40oz) It's insulated: cold water > tepid water It's got a handle It came with a screw top lid as well which is great for air travel (ever opened up a straw lid water bottle on a plane?) What I don't like: It's got a rust spot on the inside so it's already on its way out It leaks: the straw lid is awful for leaking, it even leaks when it's upright if there's a change in air pressure. It really sucks. It doesn't fit in a standard cup holder. The straw isn't covered so if it falls on the floor of my car because it won't fit in the cup holder the straw is in contact with whatever dirt and nastiness is down there So basically I'm looking for: at LEAST 32oz but preferably 40oz fits in a standard cup holder insulated won't leak covered flip straw lid alternative lid options (even if I have to buy separately) durable must have some type of handle (prefer lid handles) Does anybody know of a water bottle that fits the bill? Put the zip tie through the height adjustment holes that are not in use. If you buy a solid water bottle cage instead of a wire one you can also use it to place items such as your phone or keys in it. You can put one on either side too if you need. I'm currently on crutches and this is very helpful and time saving for me.
