Had my headphones in so apparently I missed earlier the cues. He came up to me - and the part I caught was something like ‘Behalten Sie Ihre Gedanken für sich’ I just replied ‘Das ist von der Meinungsfreiheit gedeckt’ to which he said something under his breath and walked off. I just decided to leave as it was a really unpleasant interaction. Nobody around said anything either. I tried to get eye contact with another guy opposite but he just looked down. The one who was offended looked quite normal tbh- well groomed and not thuggish at all. Like a 30 something papa in a decent job you’d see sipping a coffee somewhere. I bought 2 insulated water bottles from 2 distinct brands in 2 different stores, both had the barcode sticker at the bottom, when I peeled them away, I found this metallic disc on both (it feels more plasticy but can't fully tell). In one of the bottles, the disc came off with the barcode sticker and I threw it away, but it stayed on the second bottle. My first guess is it could be an anti-theft tag of some sort. Yeah, went into his office today and saw the edge of the logo and just asked the question if it was what I thought it was. He then turned it around and there was a Fugazi sticker on the other side. I'd love to actually use this wine bottle, but I can't get this sticker residue off. No idea how someone got it in there in the first place, but it's definitely on the inside. My bottle brush is too big and too short to work here. I've tried a vinegar water soak, soap and water, and a super concentrated saltwater mix (for the grittiness) and none of them have worked. Updates at the bottom AITAH for wanting to put stickers on a water bottle I was gifted? Alright Reddit, I cannot believe I’m posting about this but it’s caused a fight between my boyfriend and I, and I feel like I’m taking crazy pills so I need some perspective here. My (21F) boyfriend (25m), just surprised me with a yeti water bottle out of no where. While I’m very appreciative of this I want to make clear I didn’t ask him to do this; and his reasoning was that he thinks someone is going to poison me with the straw style of water bottle I use now. The water bottle in question is brown, they didn’t have my favourite colour and he bought it at a store that was closing so no worries there not his fault. My favourite colour is green and I love plants, at some point i casually mentioned putting some stickers on it to make it feel more like mine. And he got upset, telling me it looks childish and that that’s unnecessary, and that he didn’t want me to. He also mentioned that he may use it and he’d be embarrassed if it had stickers on it. I should also mention that before I found out it was final say I approached him and asked if it was final sale. And then clarified saying I’m grateful for it and I appreciate the gesture, but I was just looking at a similar, cheaper one on Amazon so if this can be returned why don’t we get that instead? It saves you money, I get one I want win win. I can see how this maybe came across wrong and I apologized for it but it didn’t seem to do much. TLDR: boyfriend gifted me a water bottle, I said I want to put stickers on it and he basically told me I couldn’t and that it’s childish. UPDATE: We’ve started to talk and apparently it was a gift for “us”. For around $5 you can get a box of over 100 tablets that do an amazing job cleaning bacteria and hard water buildup inside your water bottles. Most branded bottle cleaners are relatively overpriced for the product and come with very few tablets. I use a straw brush to dip it into the bottle and scrub out the cap and drinking straw as well as around the lip of the bottle! I’ve never seen it so clean before and it’s relatively fast. I leave mine in for about 5-10 minutes before pouring and rinsing out. Warning: DO NOT GET THE FLAVORED ONES UNLESS YOU WANT EVERYTHING TO BE MINTY FRESH EDIT: Y'all are awesome. A bunch of people have asked about which tablet I used so I wanted to share: Efferdent Complete Clean but any unflavored would work Also we have seen a bunch of great alternative uses suggested and asked about! cleaning your kettle/Keurig retainers toilets and other ceramic items "elaborate glass articles" humidifiers/misters/essential oil diffusers vases CPAP equipment reusable straws ​ PSA: u/SiphonTheFern pointed out that it's very important to rinse it completely multiple times. It's not great to ingest the cleaning compound! I just went back and rinsed mine a few more times juuuuust to be safe. Also was warned about some hard plastic bottles like soda stream bottles, the cleaning agents may be tough on them ​ EDIT 2: for those of you who keep commenting variations of "why", my water bottle has a bunch of stickers on it and I was looking for an alternative that minimized water on the outside. Throwaway since my account is followed by people I know, and people from my college and I don’t want to make a whole deal out of this. I (F20’s) am a senior in college. I carry a water bottle everywhere with me, that is very recognizably mine, and that I have stickers on. Also, my name is on the bottom. About a week ago, I forgot it in one of the cubbies in our college gym (many people leave stuff in the cubbies long term, so it’s not like this was a bad thing), and when I realized a few hours later and went to get it, it was gone. I was pretty bummed. But I figured it was my fault, I’d left it, and someone had stolen it. Today, I was walking into the library, and I saw my water bottle, sitting on a table! I went to go grab it, but when I picked it up, a girl sitting at the table said, “hey! That’s my water bottle!” I said no, it isn’t, I accidentally left it at the gym a week ago. It was mine. She tried to grab it back from me, told me I was stealing her water bottle, and that she would call the campus police on me. She had a few friends with her at the table, who were getting annoyed as well. It was at this point that I got pissed. I asked her where she’d gotten the bottle from, she said off of Amazon. So, I tilted the bottom towards her, and said, “Then why does it have my name and number on the bottom?” She rolled her eyes at me and told me to screw off, that I didn’t need to be such an asshole about it. I took the water bottle. A friend was with me at the time, and said that I made a big deal out of nothing, and that I probably embarrassed her in front of her friends, and that I should’ve just gotten a new water bottle instead of being an asshole since I had left it in the gym i. the first place. My daughter (14) chews on everything, especially anything made of silicone. She has anxiety and sensory issues so I think that's why she chews on stuff. In June I got her a water bottle and it had a silicone straw lid. I didn't think anything of it because she's never broken anything that she's chewed on before. Last week she came up to me and said that she chewed through the straw on her water bottle and asked me to take her to buy her a new one. I said no and that she can use one of her sister's bottles (she bought 3 water bottles and covered them in stickers. She doesn't mind people borrowing them) until she buys herself a new one. She threw a tantrum because "she hates the way the stickers feel on her hands" and I told her she should've thought of that before she broke hers and sent her to her room until dinner. She called her dad (my ex) and told him what happened and that she "can't drink water at school because of me" (she refuses to take plastic bottles too and the water fountains at her school are shut off due to covid) and when he picked her up yesterday he told the kids to leave the room and berated me for not buying her a new water bottle and wants to go to court to get full custody over this. He completely undermined my parenting and bought her 2 water bottles with replacement caps and some necklaces for her to chew on (I already told her that I don't want her wearing those). My daughter said she doesn't plan on coming home when her dad's custody time is up so I wanted to see if I was wrong.
