Slippery elm on Carnivore Diet
Hey guys. I’m starting a strict carnivore diet today excluding diary with the exception of butter. I’m on the IBS / Sibo journey and have tried a lot of modalities and none of which have had long lasting relief / remission. I have found supplementing with slippery elm has helped with my loose stools and am wanting to know if it would kick me out of ketosis if it is the only form of Carbohydrate that I am consuming. I feel I have a problem with absorption of fat so am hesitant to completely stop taking whilst transitioning over to a carnivore diet. Any advice would be great. I have had a naturopath put me on Tudca in the past and it helped with loose stools. Omen to suggestion on how to approach. submitted by /u/zeddit_4214 to r/keto [link] [comments]

My Carnivore Diet Experience After 3 Years
Hey everyone, I had bad experiences with carnivore trying to make it work for last 3 years. My journey started with Erik Berg with keto and then I started carnivore after mold exposure wrecked my gut ( increased SIBO , SIFO and gut permeability and CFS/ ME and MCAS with huge histamine issues and a lot of other issues) and I lost ability to digest plants and for the most of time I was sure diet alone will fix all my issues but it didn’t… I was stuck in a place for so long until I added antifungal supplements and antibacterial like wild oil of oregano, candida support and SIBO-GO and many others … I tried many versions of carnivore , low fat , high fat sticks of butter and raw meat and raw liver , raw eggs raw milk etc and I eaten consistently carnivore no cheating and high calorie from 3000 a day up to 6000 every single day. I’m active walking from 15 km up to 30 km a day day after day or hiking with backpack in Greece summer and light weight training few times a week and Calisthenics almost every day. I’m in hybrid athletes category when I do a lot of cardio but wanna lift as well. No car and almost no public transportation… need a go to supermarket 4,5 kilometers one way on two feet. I had a major issues which are diet relate as: My sleep was terrible i was waking up in the middle of night and all shaking until the morning and all morning… My morning wood is gone for a while now like a year when even on poor „plant based diet„ it was still a thing so that means low free testosterone. I wasn’t able to gain muscle and eating kilos of meat I was underweight this summer to the extreme point of being 55 kilos and had constant fatigue and low sugar symptoms of one minute everything okay and next downhill weak , slow speech feeling sleepy and in slow motion. My gut was never stable diarrhea and constipation on and off and candida and SIBO never gone away . I wasn’t able to get my glycogen stores up and flux of that glycogen for high intensity movements to the point when from mold exposure I couldn’t walk up stairs or uphill without pain and just couldn’t and yes that normal human physiology. Yes even if low carb can restore glycogen it doesn’t provide proper flux especially when redox and mitochondria and liver isn’t in top not order. Fat oxidation can not provide stuff that carbs can do, unfortunately I was sure that carnivore would work but it didn’t… We villainized insulin when chronic low insulin as bad as chronic high insulin, we villainized omega 6s fats when we need them etc etc As someone recently showed me studies how I’m spreading pseudoscience ( not to mention that he cherry-picked things out of it to prove the point ) but I do not need studies to tell me that I can not walk up stairs as 24 year old man when I do eat carnivore or that I have exercise intolerance and can not to 10 push up’s when it is okay 60 is not a problem. As I learned all the diet dogma and carnivore influences are ones who spread lies and misinformation, yes I learn what I should I eat thanks to them but everyone has their own opinions and biases and no one looks at human physiology and biology and logic. I found a lot from Justine Stenger and man other people. They do not talk about redox balance and how this diet causes redox collapse and how mitochondria works. They do not tell you that inuits had genetic mutations to allow them to eat high fat etc etc I learn how nutrient deficient this diet is in contrast to what every MD and PhD on YT says and how it is great elimination diet for a month and how your body makes a glucose ( sugar you need ) is a lie to some degree. After adding carbs first raw milk and raw egg yolks , I gained weight and had a little bit more energy but and after adding starch ( white rice and sweet potatoes ) and fruits like papaya which helps with histamine and digestion , my muscles are finally starting to feel better and I gained masculine look and if I eat consistent meals few meals a day my glycogen stores are full. ( fasting and meal skipping is the worst ). This diet is for obese people who wanna lose some weight not for active people who wanna be healthy and at their peak performance. This is great resources from Lucas Hedenbeck great information no bs just real life stuff. The Nutrition Shift That Changed Everything for Me https://youtu.be/njMOzNxg7fM?si=WwrPWwNLukbdJ5VM Carnivore Is One of the Worst Diets for Performance.. https://youtu.be/xODjUZ6rM5o?si=dCCAq4YuLoTm4J1Q TL;DR Do not believe anyone who says something on the internet and If you do not feel great like superhuman in first weeks or even days, DO NOT wait another 3 years like me to add low toxin plant carb sources. submitted by /u/ShineNo147 to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

Try Carnivore diet
I smelled like death for years and could not for the life of me figure out what the cause was, and went to various doctors, did blood tests, TMAU test, tried supplements (chlorophyll, vitamins, etc.) with nil luck. I suffered from daily humiliations at work and in public that was making life miserable. Then I saw someone on reddit had luck with carnivore diet eliminating their odor issues and gave it a go. Within 36-48 hours of not ingesting any carbs I no longer smelled pungent. The same people who would scramble to open windows when in a car with me could all of a sudden tolerate being in my presence. I no longer have odor issues and can live a normal life. I do allow myself carb heavy cheat meals now and then but only if I know I won't have contact with people in the next 36-48 hours. If like me, you have suffered with this debilitating disease for years with seemingly nothing working and haven't yet tried carnivore, it is worth a try. you will know within 2-3 days if it is effective for you so you won't lose anything if it doesn't work out but your whole life to gain back. submitted by /u/NarrowDurian2031 to r/bodyodor [link] [comments]

Today is my 9th day of being on what most would call a Dirty Carnivore Diet
Overall, I'm feeling pretty good. I was 105kgs before I started and I'm down to 99.8kgs. I'm going to start being more active, so lifting weights, swimming etc. I've been getting a little bit of indigestion and loose stools. I've read that things like this can be normal when first starting carnivore. I was looking at taking a electrolyte powder but I see most people just have salt. I was looking at taking a fibre supplement also. submitted by /u/The_Great_Mutoh to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

Vitamin C insufficiency or deficiency on Carnivore diet?
The Vitamin C is needed beyond what few mg carnivore diet can provide. In high oxidative / inflammatory states, vitamin C demand can be much higher than normal since mold toxins, infections, and immune over activation dramatically increase ROS ( Reactive oxygen species ) production. Vitamin C is one of the body’s primary water-soluble antioxidants. Here are few examples how it is used up: When oxidative stress rises Vitamin C , it donates electrons to neutralize free radicals then each neutralization uses up a vitamin C molecule so the vitamin C becomes oxidized and must be recycled or excreted. One of the ways is when White blood cells actively concentrate vitamin C and levels inside immune cells can be 50–100× higher than in blood. I have been exposed to mold and have issues after mold like CIRS , CFS/ME and have gut issues. MCAS and HI and leaky gut and gut overgrowth ( SIBO,SIFO,Candida etc etc I see Evan Brand has electrolyte supplement with daily dose of 1700 mg of vitamin c of corse buffered with minerals. This is for healing. I have a lot of issues with Histamine intolerances and food intolerances and anaphylactic reactions many things like smells and wind and smoke etc etc after mold exposure. The most important thing here for me is: - Histamine degradation: Vitamin C lowers circulating histamine and reduces histamine release from mast cells but every time vitamin C helps degrade histamine, it is used up so chronic histamine load = chronic vitamin C depletion. - MCAS patients often have functional vitamin C deficiency due to rapid turnover - Adrenal demand: The adrenal glands concentrate vitamin C and it release vitamin C into circulation depleting their stores rapidly. If intake doesn’t match demand systemic deficiency symptoms can occur even with normal blood levels. - Immune modulation: Helps regulate, not stimulate, immune responses - Detoxification increases vitamin C: Vitamin C supports this process ( Phase I detox and Phase II detox ) indirectly by regenerating glutathione and reducing oxidative damage during detox I think the best way to take vitamin c beside buffered forms is liposomal or IV. Anyone experienced vitamin c deficiency or insufficiency or clinical or subclinical deficiency? Especially with MCAS or even after mold exposure? submitted by /u/ShineNo147 to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

Is there any benefit to athletic performance from creatine supplementation or whey protein while on carnivore?
Here is my reasoning. On the carnivore diet, you should be getting enough creatine, protein and amino acids from the meat and fat you are eating. So, therefore, supplements wouldn't really have any impact. Is this reasoning valid? Have any of you who workout noticed any benefit from continuing creating and protein supplementing? submitted by /u/TrafficAggravating42 to r/carnivore [link] [comments]

Hey everyone! I’ve been on carnivore for a couple of years, and I feel better than ever. A few things on top of the diet really seem to help: Morning sunlight and walks Lifting weights Eating more fish (sardines) I only take iodine, mostly from trusting the data, and haven’t noticed much from it. Supplementing with Thiamine (B1) solved all of my energy and digestion issues on Carnivore.
As the title suggests, going carnivore has put dozens of my conditions into remission (OCD, GAD, MDD, ADHD….)for over a year now. While so many things improved, I still struggled with digestion and energy. I attribute this to SIBO/SIFO, which carnivore can't “cure” but can provide immense relief. I never felt hungry, no matter how much I “primed” and was found to have low stomach acid. My electrolytes were also increasingly “off” and supplementing just those seemed to throw off my ratios, I had tried all different variations and I was experiencing edema in my legs and feet (long before carnivore). I also had issues digesting fat, unrelated to bile (I had plenty of bile but my vagus nerve activation was jacked and I couldn't It wasn't until I tried B1 (with cofactors) that my MMC began to work and started having fantastic poops and amazing energy for the first time in years! Like what the carnivore influencers talk about :) For those of you opposed to supplements, you can get B1 in pork, but should note that if you have been chronically deficient, like I am positive I have been for YEARS, you may need to supplement to get you over the hump. My working hypothesis of what caused some previous conditions was that chronically low thiamine and antibiotics + stress gave me SIBO/sifo which further depleted my thiamin and gave me malnutrition. I stopped being able to digest my food and had dropped 40lbs in 3 months without trying- it was really scary. When I went carnivore, I may have triggered a mini refereeing syndrome and required a lot of thiamine, magnesium, and potassium to repair my body, luckily the diet provides a lot of phosphate. I started experiencing paradoxical symptoms, largely electrolyte issues. But if I had a big glass of raw milk with each dose I felt great. The edema in my legs has largely subsided and my digestion is close to perfect and I have energy every day! I currently take Dr. Berg's Natural B1 x3 and 1000mg Thiamine Mononitrate. With Mag malate/glycinate/threonate as needed (1-3) + glass of raw milk as needed (1-3) I have sulfur issues so molybdenum also helps but don't take it every day. Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone has been troubleshooting the same issues. *edited to fix type of thiamine submitted by /u/PrimalPoly to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

Day 34 of 40
I am on day 34 of what will be my longest fast, 40 days. I beat my PR of 21 days (last year) and am fully resolved/not worried in the slightest that I’ll finish out the whole thing. I am down 45.8lbs so far. May 5-281.2lbs June 7-235.4lbs To give some background, I played college football as a defensive lineman at a D1 SEC program, and during that time got to 295lbs at my largest (definitely dirty bulked). I have also been in the Marine Corps Reserve since before that time, and having to juggle that and Marine Corps height/weight standards led me to learn a ton about keto, then carnivore, then fasting (intermittent then prolonged). For the last few years I’ve done weekly 24-48s, monthly 72-96s, and a handful of prolonged (7, 21, & 16 day fasts). Admittedly, I’ve not done a great job living well in between those long fasts, partying and living it up too much, and at the end of April, after coming back from a work trip, decided to do the pinnacle of fasting (in my opinion), the full 40, and get myself back to where I want to be and stop going hard in the paint in terms of living it up and being unhealthy afterwards. I am hoping to get into the 220s by the time I’m done, and then live 80/20 healthy/fun afterwards and keep on a losing trajectory until I’m ~10% bodyfat. As for how this fast is going, I feel about 80% of normal, and have been regularly consuming electrolytes and some mineral supplements. I work out every other or third day, just basically going through the motions, but walk or do other light activities every day. I have been consuming water, sparkling water, black coffee, electrolyte packets (or zero calorie Gatorades if I’m on the road), have had plenty of diet soda, and I am a regular Zynner. Yes, I know this makes it not a pure waster fast, but they’re making this a no-sweat endeavor for me, so I’ll take that hit. Anyway, posting this if anyone has any questions or if anyone needs some inspiration! Live faster! submitted by /u/jmawad319 to r/fasting [link] [comments]

Keto / Carnivore diet Myths about Cortisol, Glucagon, Muscles and Thyroid / Organs
Hello everyone, I seen some misinformation and bias on r/AnimalBased sub which harms a lot of people so it inspired me to share my breakdown based on high quality science not trust me bro eat 600 grams of sugar from fruit it is good for you. Highly recommend r/ketoscience for anyone interested. Here is my take on it no bias just hard evidence. "We don't like excessive cortisol and glucagon around here. Do your thyroid, organs, and muscles some good and go eat some AB friendly carbs." That statement oversimplifies and misrepresents the ketogenic diet in a misleading and emotionally charged way. The assertion that ketogenic diets (KDs) are harmful due to elevated cortisol and glucagon levels lacks strong support from high-quality evidence. Here’s a breakdown based on recent randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses: - Cortisol: Short-term low-carbohydrate diets can lead to a temporary increase in resting cortisol levels, likely due to the body’s adaptation to reduced glucose availability. However, this elevation tends to normalize over time as the body adjusts to ketosis. During exercise, cortisol responses may be heightened on low-carb diets, but this effect diminishes with adaptation. A 2022 meta analysis found that low carb diets moderately increased resting cortisol levels during the first three weeks. However, after this initial period, resting cortisol levels generally returned to baseline. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9716400/ - Glucagon: On a KD, glucagon levels typically rise to promote gluconeogenesis and maintain blood glucose levels. This is a normal physiological response and not inherently harmful. Glucagon is a necessary counter-hormone to insulin, helping maintain blood glucose levels when you’re not eating carbs. In keto, it’s part of the normal adaptation — not a pathology. Limited Necessity for Ketosis: A study published in Diabetes investigated glucagon’s role in ketogenesis during fasting and in response to SGLT2 inhibition. The researchers found that neither fasting- nor SGLT2i-induced ketosis was altered by interruption of glucagon signaling. This suggests that glucagon is not essential for ketone production under these conditions. https://diabetesjournals.org/diabetes/article/69/5/882/39574/The-Limited-Role-of-Glucagon-for-Ketogenesis Insulin’s Modulatory Effect: The same study noted that any effect of glucagon to stimulate ketogenesis is severely limited by its insulinotropic actions. In other words, glucagon’s ability to promote ketone production is counteracted by its stimulation of insulin secretion, which suppresses ketogenesis. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7171961/ Reduced Efficacy of Glucagon Treatment: A randomized crossover study involving patients with type 1 diabetes compared the effect of glucagon on mild hypoglycemia after following a low-carbohydrate diet (LCD) versus a high-carbohydrate diet (HCD). The study found that the LCD reduced the treatment effect of glucagon on mild hypoglycemia, indicating that carbohydrate intake influences glucagon’s efficacy in correcting low blood sugar. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27797928/ Saying “we don’t like” those hormones without context is like saying “we don’t like oxygen because it can cause oxidation.” Strength Performance: Meta-analyses suggest that KDs do not impair strength performance. One review found no significant differences in one-repetition maximum tests between KD and non-KD groups, indicating that strength gains are comparable. https://www.mdpi.com/2864476 An RCT involving trained men found that an 8-week KD led to significant reductions in fat mass and visceral adipose tissue without compromising lean body mass or strength gains. https://jissn.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12970-018-0236-9 In a study of natural bodybuilders, those on a KD experienced significant fat loss but did not see significant increases in lean mass, unlike their counterparts on a Western diet. https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/13/2/374 Research on trained women indicated that an 8-week KD combined with resistance training preserved lean mass and strength while reducing fat mass. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32276630/ Thyroid Function: There is limited direct evidence from RCTs on the impact of KDs on thyroid function. However, some studies suggest that while KDs can lead to reductions in T3 (triiodothyronine) levels, this does not necessarily indicate hypothyroidism or impaired thyroid function. Let's note that people heal Hashimoto , Hypothyroidism , Hyperthyroidism on Carnivore diet: - Hashimoto https://carnivore.diet/?s=Hashimoto - Hypothyroidism https://carnivore.diet/?s=hypothyroidism A study on children with drug-resistant epilepsy undergoing KD therapy for 12 months found no significant changes in thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) or free thyroxine (FT4) levels, suggesting that KD does not impair thyroid function in this population. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33846882/ Organ Health: KDs have been associated with improvements in various health markers, including reductions in triglycerides, glucose, insulin, and inflammatory cytokines. Additionally, a study found that a KD increased skeletal muscle insulin sensitivity in individuals with obesity. Almost every major organ or body part works better and more efficiently on ketones then glucose ( Brain, Heart, Skeletal Muscle, Mitochondrial Efficiency, Immune Function ) and those that need glucose do need only what body makes via Gluconeogenesis. - Heart and Cardiovascular Function Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (2025): Ketone therapy, through ketone esters or β-hydroxybutyrate supplementation, significantly improved cardiac function in heart failure patients. Notable improvements included increased left ventricular ejection fraction, cardiac output, and stroke volume, along with reduced systemic vascular resistance. These benefits were also observed in individuals without heart failure, suggesting broader cardiovascular advantages . https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39873669/ RCT on 1,3-Butanediol Supplementation: In patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, acute ketone body supplementation led to a 26% increase in cardiac output and enhanced systolic and diastolic function. This was accompanied by suppressed free fatty acid levels and lower glucose levels. https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.1161/JAHA.124.038461 - Muscle Study on Ketone and Growth Hormone Co-Administration: Infusion of β-hydroxybutyrate alongside growth hormone increased insulin sensitivity by approximately 100% and energy expenditure by 20%. Muscle biopsies indicated active metabolization of β-hydroxybutyrate, suggesting enhanced skeletal muscle function. - Mitochondrial Efficiency In contrast, ketone bodies such as β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) produced during a ketogenic diet, have been found to enhance mitochondrial function. BHB can improve mitochondrial efficiency and reduce oxidative stress . Moreover, ketogenic diets have been associated with increased mitochondrial capacity and efficiency, particularly in the context of fat oxidation . https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-46776-8 https://journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/ajpendo.00305.2020https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1096719224004943 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32985255/ https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article/108/8/e642/7003456 Gluconeogenesis happens to similar extend no matter what diet you eat high carb or low carb! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10843182/ Research on endurance-trained athletes who followed either a low-carbohydrate high-fat (LCHF) diet or a mixed macronutrient diet for over eight months showed that, during exercise, gluconeogenesis rates were similar between both groups. However, glycogenolysis rates were higher in the mixed diet group, leading to greater overall endogenous glucose production. This further supports the idea that gluconeogenesis remains stable regardless of dietary carbohydrate content . https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26918583/ https://open.uct.ac.za/items/fbda45bc-de3d-477a-a925-35eed961be91 I hope that helps people lost with believing lies that humans need sugar or that we eaten fruit or vegetables before living inn big cities with electricity. Do we need to supplement when we are on a strict carnivore diet?
I have seen that in addition to following a strict carnivore diet, it is necessary to take specific supplements (minerals). Can someone guide me on whether this is true? submitted by /u/Pretty-Act-8335 to r/carnivore [link] [comments]

Are there any genuine Carnivore dietist who doesn't sell you course or supplements on YouTube?
Beeing on carnivore diet, I feel good etc, but came to realize that every carnivore dietist and MD who promote this diet, is just selling their supplements or doing a "join my course" thing. Good for them to make money, sure. But I would very much appreciate if you guys know anyone on YouTube I can learn from who doesn't wanna sell me courses or supplements, thanks guys and stay well. submitted by /u/HomeworkNormal4157 to r/carnivore [link] [comments]

The Ultimate Guide to the Carnivore Diet
When I first tried the Carnivore Diet, I did it wrong. I jumped in without fully understanding how to make it work for me, which led to some challenges and I quit after 2 weeks. Now, after learning from my mistakes and seeing incredible results, I want to share a full guide on how I would start the Carnivore Diet if I were to do it again (also if you're on a budget). This took a few hours to write, but I appreciate all feedback, so I can make it even better! I want to share this with as many people because I'm overly grateful for what this diet has done for me. The Fuel Analogy Imagine you have a high-performance sports car. It’s sleek, powerful, and turns heads wherever you go. Everything under the hood is in perfect condition, just like how our bodies can be when properly fueled. But when it’s time to fill up the tank, would you use anything but the best fuel? Of course not! Yet, many of us have been filling our bodies with low-grade "fuel"—sugar, carbs, and processed junk, without realizing the impact. I've been there most of my life and I was suffering, but after switching to a proper human diet, my energy, focus, and overall health have never been better. Here’s what I wish I knew when I started: The Miracle of the Carnivore Diet Most people live in a state of constant, low-level pain and discomfort, thinking it’s normal. But it’s not. The truth is, many health issues stem from eating foods our bodies aren’t designed to handle, like sugar, processed foods, and most plants. When you eliminate these and fuel your body with what it’s meant to process—meat—you unlock your full potential. What You Can Expect: Enhanced Cognitive Function: Say goodbye to brain fog. Better mental health Hormonal Balance Whiter Teeth & Better Skin: Your body will thank you. Improved Gut Health: Efficient digestion without the bloat, no farting or gas Increased Energy: Endless stamina from ketosis. Disease Reversal: Chronic issues start to fade away. Also diabetes 2. How It Works It’s incredibly simple: Eat meat, salt, and water. Prioritize beef, lamb, eggs, and other ruminant meats. Most of your calories should come from fat—aim for a 70/30 fat-to-protein split in the beginning (50/50 by weight), then adjust as needed. Fat is the greatest source of energy. Avoid plants, sugar, artificial sweeteners, and minimize dairy. I know coffee is hard to quit, but it's better to go without it :) That’s it. Stick to this, and within a few weeks, you’ll start to see changes. BIG changes within a month for most people. Getting Started: Easing Into It If you’re new to this, don’t jump in 100% right away, especially if your diet is carb-heavy. Start by eating more meat and fewer carbs over a few weeks. This gradual transition helps prevent the "keto flu": those unpleasant symptoms of carb withdrawal. Eat lots of fat and electrolytes to mitigate this as well. Once you’re ready, go full carnivore. Commit to at least a month to see the real benefits. And remember, a 70/30 fat-to-protein ratio is a good starting point. As you progress, you can experiment with the ratios to see what works best for your body. Common Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them Dairy: Use it sparingly, if at all. Too much can mess with your digestion. Vitamin C: You need less than you think when you don't eat carbs. Look up GLUT4 transporter! Undereating: Listen to your body. Eat fatty meat until you’re full. Overeating: If you’re new to carnivore, your body might need more nutrients at first. Don’t stress. This will balance out. Consider adding organs to heal faster Cheat Days: Don't it's not worth it to ruin your progress. But if you slip up, it’s okay. Just get back on track. Cravings: you will have cravings the first 2 weeks, then they will go away forever. Stay hard the first 2! The Truth About Fiber, Cholesterol & nutrients Fiber: It’s overrated. Your body doesn’t need it, and too much can irritate your gut. Cholesterol: High cholesterol is not your enemy. It’s vital for hormone production, cellular structure, and overall health. Vitamins and nutrients: You can get all your nutrients from meat, no need to supplement. But you are probably deficient in the beginning so it's not a bad idea to add in organs which are rich in nutrients or even supplement. Salt, electrolytes and iodine are very good to supplement in the beginning when your body is transitioning. What Meat to Eat & Shopping on a Budget Best Choices: Beef, lamb, goat, and other ruminants. These are nutrient-dense and free from plant toxins. Good Alternatives: Chicken, pork, and fish. Still good, but not as nutrient-dense as ruminant meats. Here’s a sample shopping list that won’t break the bank: Brokie-Carnivore List 🍗 Beef Liver & other organs: Nutrient-dense and cheap. Ground Beef: Affordable and versatile. Pork: better than any plant. Eggs: The ultimate budget-friendly protein and complete nutrient profile! Chicken Thighs: Cheap but usually pretty low in fat. Keep the skin on because that's where the fat is. Add butter if needed. Butter: A great source of fat. Salt: Essential and basically free. Top Tier Carnivore 🥩 If you can spend more, here’s how to level up: Grass-Fed Ribeye and other fine cuts Pasture-Raised Eggs These items are more expensive but offer very good quality and taste. Meal Plan & Cooking Tips You don’t need a complicated meal plan. Just stock up on meats and cook them to your liking. Here are some cooking methods to keep things interesting: Grilling Roasting Pan-Searing Barbecuing Slow-Cooking For eggs: Scrambled Fried Boiled Omelette In Conclusion If you’re tired of feeling sluggish, dealing with constant health issues, or just want to see what your body is truly capable of, give the Carnivore Diet a try. It’s not just a diet; it’s a lifestyle that can radically transform your health and well-being, without emptying your wallet. It's saved my life and I want the best health to everyone who reads this! If you have anything to add or questions, drop them in the comments. I’ll also be posting more on my YouTube channel if anyone’s interested (@carnivore-Felix). Eat meat, take care, and have a great rest of your day! submitted by /u/FelixTheGreatOne to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

Bad experience with carnivore diet
In the last few months I’ve been eating a strict carnivore diet of grass fed beef, tallow, and sea salt along with magnesium supplements. Just recently I’ve been having some very concerning symptoms. Firstly, I’ve never gotten over my carnivore constipation despite increase my fat levels up to double the amount with beef tallow. My recent concerning symptoms included heart palpitations, irregular heartbeats, tightness in the left side of the chest, numbness and tingling in my left arm. These symptoms unfortunately have led me to immediately halt my carnivore diet. I’m at a loss for what went wrong and am pretty disappointed as I had high hopes for the carnivore diet working for me. Let me know if anyone has any insight into this! Edit: I’m considering that the way I’ve been cooking my meat and tallow may have played a role in all of this for me. I cook my ground beef and tallow on a frying pan and I’ve been looking into how tallow oxidizes when cooked in high temperatures, potentially making the fat harder to digest. I’m curious if any of you steer clear of frying your meat or not? submitted by /u/PerformerLeast9817 to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

🔥Hyena devours 🍉- They are primarily carnivorous animals, but they are opportunistic feeders and will supplement their diet with fruits and vegetables when available. On average, it is estimated that around 5% to 10% of a hyena's diet consists of plant material, fruits, berries & veggies.

Despite being obligate carnivores, Crocodilians love to eat fruit and other plant matter. This is done to supplement their diet with extra vitamins and fibers.
